In this episode Rachael and Matt discuss the traditional versus Roth debate when it comes to retirement contributions. They emphasized the importance of considering individual variables such as tax brackets, income changes, spending habits, and future tax implications. They also highlighted the value of timing strategies and Roth conversions in optimizing tax savings.Key Points Discussed:Traditional IRAs provide a tax deduction in the current year, grow tax-deferred, and are taxed upon withdrawal in retirement.Roth IRAs require you to pay taxes in the current year, but offer tax-free growth and tax-free withdrawals in retirement. The goal is to pay the least amount of tax, taking advantage of lower tax brackets. If your tax rate stays the same, there is no difference between traditional and Roth.Consider variables such as changes in tax laws, marital status, state income tax, spending habits, retirement age, and sources of retirement income.A rule of thumb is to contribute to Roth if you are in the 10-12% tax bracket, traditional or Roth in the 22-24% bracket, and traditional if you are in the 32% bracket or higher.Customize your approach based on your career stage, spending habits, and potential for future income changes.Pay attention to big swings in income and consider timing strategies for traditional or Roth contributions.Consider the impact of RMDs, Medicare premiums, and Social Security taxation in retirement. Many individuals are forced into a mix of traditional and Roth due to income limitations and employer plans.Roth conversions in retirement can be beneficial, especially for high earners or those with large brokerage accounts. It's important to customize your strategy based on your individual situation and seek professional advice.Connect with us:RachaelX/Twitter - @camp_wealthrachaelcampwealth.comMattX/Twitter - @matthew_garasicunrivaledwm.comDisclaimer: This podcast provides general information and discussion about finance, investing, and related subjects. You can have it all, just not all at the same time. A lot of us have heard this quote but who decides what does ‘all' even mean? Not everybody wants the C-suite job or an eight figure business. Not every woman wants to have a partner and many of them don't want kids. So even though we all have different versions of ‘all', it's difficult to let go of societal expectations, social media noise and our own conditioning. This messes up our mental health everyday. But there are ways to define what you want, what is your ‘all' in the current phase of your life and how to go about it. You'll discover everything in this episode with my multi-talented guest. Krusha Sahjwani Malkani is an ICF certified career and life coach for women helping them to find and achieve their version of having it all. She's also the Director of a SaaS company, a LinkedIn Top Voice, a published author of fiction and a mother. Brinsley Schwarz met Nick Lowe at school in the 1960s. They played in various bands with different group names and different members. In 1969, the band took the name of their lead guitarist, Brinsley Schwarz. On their studio albums, all from the 1970s, the band was made up of Brinsley along with Bob Andrews, Nick Lowe and Billy Rankin, with the addition of Ian Gomm on guitar and vocals, starting with their third LP, Silver Pistol. After releasing their final studio album The New Favourites of Brinsley Schwarz, Brinsley and Bob would become part of Graham Parker & The Rumour. Brinsley is not only a fine guitar player and vocalist, he also plays saxophone, keyboards and percussion, and…is also a luthier, working on guitars and amplifiers. These days he's still writing and recording wonderful songs.
