The world moves too fast; simple tasks like grocery shopping become overwhelming due to endless choices, and noise/crowds can trigger anxiety after years of institutional life. Lack of internet access inside means relearning everything from smartphones to online job applications. A criminal record creates huge barriers to housing, employment, and building new relationships, often leading to instability or re-incarceration. High rates of PTSD, anxiety, and depression are common due to trauma, making emotional regulation difficult.Business Inquires DaDojoProduction@gmail.com Insta https://www.instagram.com/senseink/ Pod Insta: https://www.instagram.com/dadojocast/ Sports Page @IKINDAKNOWBALL
Trying new things is at the heart of designing your next chapter — like trying on clothes, you experiment to see what fits your life now. Baking a cake for the first time reminded me that life after 50 is the same: old rules don't matter, mistakes happen, and what counts is what works for you. When you take control and mix your experience with confidence, you create something richer, bolder, and unmistakably your own.//WHEN YOU'RE READY, HERE'S HOW I CAN HELP YOUBUY THE BOOK: https://a.co/d/czSh6zxGet the books' bonus resources: https://sharriharmel.com/Join Substack to continue the conversation: https://sharriharmel.substack.com/Start your Breakthrough today: https://sharriharmel.com/breakthrough/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sharriharmel/Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/273197629997812

In this honest and heartfelt episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on a big shift—one that's been quietly unfolding behind the scenes for months. From turning 50 to launching our twins to college and stepping into the role of caregiver, this season of life has brought deep reflection, unexpected pivots, and a call to let go of what no longer fits.If you've ever felt stuck, disoriented, or unsure of what's next, you're not alone. This episode is for the woman navigating change and wondering if it's time to release what once worked to make room for something new.
If you've ever thought about making a change—starting something new, going back to school, or following a dream you've quietly tucked away—only to hear the voice in your head say, “Nah… It's too late,” this episode is for you.In this deeply personal and inspiring conversation, Janet shares a story that shook her out of that ‘It's too late' mindset. In this story, you'll meet a remarkable 96-year-old man whose life choices challenged every assumption about age, timing, and possibility. He reminded Janet (and will remind you) that we decide when we stop growing, not the number of candles on our birthday cake.Through reflection, story, and heartfelt truth-telling, you'll be invited to look at your own “too late” stories and maybe even take the first brave step toward the life that's been calling you all along. In this episode:Why midlife dissatisfaction isn't a crisis, it's an invitationThe 96-year-old's story that completely reframed Janet's beliefs about age and possibilityAge does not decide when we stop growing or learning something newThe real cost of staying stuck versus the risk of beginning againA reframing of “too late” as “right on time”About Janet Ioli:Janet Ioli has over 25 years of experience in executive coaching, leadership development, and talent strategy. She's led internal transformation initiatives at Fortune 100 companies like Cigna, USA Today, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman. She understands the internal realities of leadership—what it demands, and what it often costs.Through her company, JI International/ Power Presence Academy, Janet creates space for leaders to make decisions not just based on ambition—but on personal alignment, purpose, and impact. You don't have to start over to shift your path. What happens when the big job ends and no one's lining up to offer another? For Andrew Middleton, that moment sparked an identity crisis, financial panic, and ultimately, a radical reinvention. In this honest and hopeful episode, Andrew shares how it felt to be “airlifted out of relevance” in his 50s, facing ageism, self-doubt, and the loss of structure that once defined his life. But he didn't stop there. Instead, he built something new: a portfolio career based on curiosity, joy, and meaningful work including founding I'm Not Done Yet (INDY), a growing community for older people seeking purpose beyond retirement. You'll learn: Why traditional retirement isn't the only option - and might not be the right one;How to navigate the emotional and financial shocks of leaving a long career; Why soft retirement, side hustles, and experimentation might be the key to fulfilment; How to rebuild identity, community, and self-worth outside corporate life; Why men in midlife need to talk and how doing so changes everything. If you've ever wondered, “What now?” or feared becoming invisible as you age, this episode offers reassurance, inspiration, and a roadmap forward.
What if the secret to longevity isn't luck—but how you show up? In this episode, I sit down with someone I've been wanting to interview for a long time—actor and now wellness entrepreneur, Josh Duhamel. You've seen him in everything from Transformers to Las Vegas to his latest hit Ransom Canyon. But this conversation goes beyond the screen. It's about the truth behind staying relevant, thriving in your 40s and 50s, and what it really means to lead—whether that's in your home, on set, or in your company. Josh opens up about the moments of self-doubt early in his career, the grind he still embraces, and how testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) helped him regain not just his energy, but his edge. We got real about aging, fatherhood, emotional strength, and the quiet confidence that comes from people believing in you—not just loving you. There's a big difference between the two. And whether you're leading a team or raising a family, that distinction can change everything. We also talk about masculinity in today's world—the evolving definition of what it means to be a man, and how important it is to stay grounded in spiritual connection. Josh talked about his circle of men who hold space for honest, vulnerable conversation and how that's shaped the way he leads and lives. He's not afraid to let people know he needs them, and that simple truth might just be the unlock for building loyalty, excellence, and connection in your team. This episode isn't just about fame or fitness—it's about the values that sustain you: humility, work ethic, emotional intelligence, and the courage to evolve. Josh proves that longevity in any field is earned through consistency, intention, and the willingness to stay coachable—even when you've “made it.” Key Takeaways: Why being emotionally accessible is a strength, not a weakness How testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) helped Josh reclaim his drive The importance of belief—how it's more powerful than love in leadership Creating a work environment where everyone feels needed and valued Josh's definition of masculinity and the role spiritual connection plays in his life How leaders like Steve Jobs and Mark Wahlberg modeled greatness through humility and discipline Don't just listen—share this one with someone who needs to remember what showing up with purpose really looks like. Today's podcast episode is all about how to get in killer shape in your 50s, 60s, and yeah even your 70s. As someone nearly 60 myself trying to stay fit and healthy, I've picked up a thing or two on this whole healthy aging game. And let me tell you, a lot of folks think it's all downhill after 50 when it comes to your strength and health. But from my experience? Complete BS. With the right changes to how you eat, exercise, manage stress - you can absolutely be in the best shape of your life even as you get older. In today's show I break it down into what I call the three pillars of strong healthy aging - movement, nutrition, and recovery. I get into real practical steps - how walking needs to be your jam, why you gotta start smashing way more protein, why tracking your food is a game-changer. Oh and real talk - chronic cardio is not your friend! I speak from experience here. Some of the stuff that I really geeked out on is why strength training is so crucial to stay powered up as you age. And I get into the science about how our muscle fibers change as we get older. Pretty fascinating if you're a fitness nerd like me! I also talk about how you gotta stop making changes from a place of feeling bad about your body - master your mindset first y'all! I live this stuff but even I struggled HARD with lame fitness habits and stupid fad diets myself back in the day. I made this podcast to keep it real with people looking to make changes. Whether you need an overhaul or just wanna take your health up a notch, have a listen! For our first encore episode, we chose the inspiring pair of Michelle and Joan MacDonald. Not only are they glorious examples of what a healthy body can achieve after midlife, they seem to have an enviable mother-daughter bond that is beautiful to witness. These women broke the internet after Michelle, a body builder and transformation coach, guided her then 70-year-old mother through a process that resulted in life-changing weight loss and the subsequent elimination of a slew of health problems. Joan's before and after photos can be found at Train with Joan, and you should take a peek before listening to understand the full impact of what these women achieved together. This was our only chat with a mother-daughter duo, and we couldn't have found more mind-blowing specimens. In this episode we are going to talk about what I've learned about sex during perimenopause and then post menopause. For a lot of people this happens after age 50. But some people hit menopause before 50. I've had clients ages 19-75. And because I've helped many women who are going through the changes that happen after 40 years old I wanted to share what has worked for many of these people. And I myself am currently struggling through perimenopause, so I have my own experiences to share for you to learn from. Welcome to Your Turned on Desire where Jamee talks about the lessons she learned when she decided to stop avoiding sex and look forward to and enjoy sex instead. She also shares how she uses the same lessons to help other women do the same in her private coaching and online program.
