A BETTER COVENANT VERSE | He is the one who mediates for us a far better covenant with God, based on better promises. HEBREWS 8:6 POINT-1 | Twice we are reminded that Jesus offers us a “better covenant”—here and in Hebrews 7:22. POINT-2 | We are redeemed in order to relate to Him. Personally. POINT-3 | God has a better sense of timing than we do. POINT-4 | Never fall for the deception that God's general revelation to everyone precludes His personal conversation with us as individuals. TAKEAWAY | He still speaks specifically into our particular circumstances and in response to our unique needs. He has not fallen silent. He has not sent us love letters from a distant land. He is here, with us and in us, always expressing His heart. Lord, I embrace every word of Your revelation in Scripture, and I choose to take it personally. Yet I know You give specific direction, too, and I know You enjoy my company. Please keep our conversations lively and refreshing —and very unique to us. ------------------------------ Messages From God 7 Days A Week, 3 Times A Day Preparation is the key to success. A WINDING ROAD VERSE | Go now, Daniel, for what I have said is kept secret and sealed until the time of the end. DANIEL 12:9 POINT-1 | A secret told but still secret? POINT-2 | God sometimes speaks cryptically and lets the true meaning come to the surface over time. POINT-3 | God not only did this in Scripture, but He also does it in our personal conversations with Him. POINT-4 | Remember that the next time you're holding on to a promise from God or a calling yet to be fulfilled. TAKEAWAY | With God, the shortest distance between two points is rarely a straight line. It's a winding road that He reveals along the way until, in the end, we finally understand. Lord, Your secrets are still mysteries to me even after You tell them. Show me enough to keep me going. Help me keep the destination in view, regardless of how the path turns. Give me the faith to get there. ------------------------------ Messages From God 7 Days A Week, 3 Times A Day Preparation is the key to success. A BETTER SENSE OF TIMING VERSE | A time to be quiet and a time to speak. ECCLESIASTES 3:7 POINT-1 | As human beings, we have a keen sense of critical moments. POINT-2 | God does not operate on our schedule... POINT-3 | God has a better sense of timing than we do. POINT-4 | God sometimes gives us a glimpse of the big picture —a vision or a calling to be fulfilled over time. TAKEAWAY | Hang on. Don't rush the process. If you have children and you are constantly questioning how to keep technology safe and manageable for everyone, you have to listen to this new episode! I am so excited to introduce you to the fabulous Michelle Adams, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Forensic Interviewer in Kentucky. She is a mom to four amazing children, and her and her husband have been navigating this new world of technology being so accessible to kids for a while now. Because of the nature of her job, she has had a front row seat to learning about the real-life effects of tech on young minds. Even more, she knows how easy it is for kids to accidentally access dangerous and inappropriate sites with just a few clicks. Michelle is on a mission to help parents become more aware and involved with the things their children are viewing online. With all of the tablets, video games, YouTube, TikTok, etc., our kids could be just one click away from seeing something they'll never forget. As parents, we truly need to be proactive and make a plan for technology use in the home. In the episode, Michelle tells us how she approached tech in her own home. She also gave us some great ideas on how to start cutting back so our kids can be their imaginative, joyful selves! If you're needing some guidance on how to protect your kids from the dark side of technology, this episode is a must. Michelle is a brilliant light in this world, and I know you will love her as much as I do. Welcome to Bachademia! This week our guest is none-other than the wonderful Connie Hansen! It is November, somehow. Connie and Bill, how you doing? Question of the week: What is your call sign? The episode begins with the men attempting to figure out who told Michelle information that caused her to feel like the men were questioning her character. Kaitlyn drops off the first date card and Martin, LT, Olu, Spencer, Clayton, Nayte, Joe, Rick, Will, and Peter head to the Danger Zone. Basically it is a date that is also publicity for the new Top Gun movie. I'd complain but it ends up being a wild date that begins with popped collar, a little neck skin, and nicknames. Thoughts on their outfits? Which of their nicknames were your favorite? Lil Willy, Frosty, Doughboy. After a quick pushup contest. Anywho, Martin pulls Michelle aside to check in on her. Thoughts on Frosty's move? After this, it is time to spin. They go on a G-Force stimulator, which I really wanted to do as a kid. Will is worried he's gonna puke cuz duh and as he spins speaks to Michelle in Spanish. This is apparently a no no because Peter feels copied and this enrages him. Thoughts? Then they do some sort of American Gladiator like fighting. Clayton is big and strong and Will is declared winner of the Top Gun Olympics, earning alone time with Michelle. They get in a vintage car that is freakishly small, they makeout, and he gets a bomber jacket as a prize. They have a cocktail party. Clayton is getting some air time. He invites Michelle to spin around with him. It's cute. Michelle is leaning in for those kisses. Martin takes off his glasses to smooch. Thoughts on her connection with any of the guys? Meanwhile Peter and Will start fighting again. There are some sick zingers as they fight. Like “I change lives one slice at a time” Bill, do you have any favorite insults? Meanwhile, Rodney gets the next one-on-one. Mollique loves his Rodney but does not think he has a shot with Michelle. Pretty sure he will get friend zoned? What do you think about this moment? Bill teach us about friend zoning! Rodney and Michelle's date begins with a game of truth or dare and eating things blindfolded again. Then things heat up when Rodney has to strip down and run around the hotel. (What is going on with the Bachelor franchise's budgets on these dates?) Thoughts on this part of the date?Group date number two: Jamie, Leroy, Chris G., Casey, Mollique, Chris S., Brandon, and Romeo. Jamie starts getting really weird. His confidence is extreme and he keeps talking about how he knows he gets the girl. The men write some poetry. Brandon's is pretty good. Jamie goes rogue and tells some sort of parable that is maybe meant to warn the other men to back off. Did you understand any of this, Bill?Michelle performs a poem that expresses what it was like for her to grow up in Minnesota as the “token Black girl.” Let's talk about this.Jamie is miffed that Brandon could possible compete with him and he talks some trash with a producer, clearly unaware he is on camera. Whoa dude. Whoa.Rick learns from Michelle that it was Jamie who lied about the guys being worried about Joe and her knowing each other before the show began. He shares this information with the guys. They confront Jamie and he attempts, unsuccessfully, to talk his way out of it. Michelle puts Jamie on the spot. He says, I was just trying to protect you and Michelle is not having it. Bye Jamie! Then a rose ceremony: Spence, Mollique, LT, and Peter go home. Any of these surprise you? Lessons learned. Rate us on Apple Podcast and you could win a custom tie-dye by Mother in-law Sue!

"It was a time when I felt the most frustrated, exhausted and isolated than I've ever felt in my life. I've made it my mission in life to help other people NOT feel that way." ~Michelle Adams, Author & Estate Planning Attorney The Mavericks sit down with Attorney Michelle Adams to talk Legacy Planning. It is such an important tool and process. Join us as Attorney Adams navigates us on the reasons why we must plan! Michelle Adam started this firm because she had personally experienced what happens when a loved one fails to plan for their death or disability. Attorney Adams knows that this is not necessarily a “dinner time” topic but we must take the steps to have these conversations so that family stress and drama are minimized in the long run. She enjoys working with people to help them come up with the best solutions for their situation and giving them a measure of comfort that they are prepared and have provided for their loved ones if something should happen to them. A significant portion of her practice focuses on the needs of parents of minor children who want to ensure that they have put solid plans in place for the protection of their children. As a mom, she is acutely aware that if something were to happen to her, her family would be tremendously impacted. However, she knows that one of the best gifts she can give them would be to take the simple steps of getting my plans in order. In addition to my legal practice, she strongly believes in giving back to the community. Michelle volunteers time to several organizations including Denver CASA, Denver Great Kids Head Start, Denver Center for Crime Victims, Volunteers of America and the Denver Bar Association's School and Lawyers Committee. Originally from New York City, she earned her B.A. in Administration of Justice from the Pennsylvania State University and my J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. For the past 17 years, she and her family have called Colorado home and we take advantage of all this great state has to offer! LIKE THIS EPISODE? On this episode I had the pleasure of having a conversation with Michelle Adams, Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer at family-owned business, Adams Funeral Services. While times have changed from those early years of the horse drawn hearse and funerals in the family home, the Adams family continues a long tradition of loving care and service to families in their time of need. They have pioneered unique funeral service personalization ideas, technical innovations including video memorials, digital memorial portraits, and much more Amid her grieving the loss of her own mother, Michelle aspired to continue the legacy of the family business and transitioned from being a full-time cosmetologist into her current role. Although a funeral director & embalmer, Michelle uses her skills of cosmetology to also help make your loved ones look their best during the homegoing ceremony. Her goal with the family business is to provide Savannah and the surrounding communities the highest level of service, compassion, and respect in funeral service ministry that is offered. In this episode we discuss: + The steps to planning a funeral + How you can pre-plan your funeral + How pre-planning your funeral can help ease some grief for your loved ones + How to cope with emotions surrounding bury someone Michelle Adams Information Adams Funeral Services (912) 354-6260 Website: Www.adamsfuneralservicesinc.com Instagram: @Michelle_A_Adams Links mentioned in this episode: Why Millennials are the death positive generation Connect with Loryn Denise: * Website: www.thistooshallsuckpodcast.com * Instagram: @ThisTooShallSuckPodcast * Facebook: @ThisTooShallSuckPodcast * Youtube: This Too Shall Suck Podcast --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thistooshallsuck/support

This week, Hannah is joined by Michelle Adams from Chatty Cats Care! Coming from a theatre background, Michelle has always been a passionate and artistic soul. She's performed with some top theatre companies, performed at many events, and even starred in an award-winning short film at just 16 years old! But Michelle has another lifelong love... a love of cats! When Michelle was at university, she wanted to find a flexible way of earning some income. She came across a job listing for a cat sitter, which sounded purrfect... It wasn't long until Michelle realised she could make some decent money doing this, especially if she cut out the middle man and ran the service as her own business. So that's exactly what she did, and 3 years later she has 14 employees and over 100 London-based clients! It's quite the success story to say the least; what more motivation do you need than a story like this?! Michelle specialises in caring for disabled pets, is passionate about rescuing cats, and shares her home with senior cat, Jerry. Michelle shares with Stacy how during the pandemic lockdowns, her cat sitting business has adapted by adding a podcast, Catmaste Chronicles, and how that has led to her latest business venture: selling eco friendly products like cat-themed beeswax wraps. Not only do Michelle’s products support sustainable living, but she’s also donating 30% of her profits to Feline Friends International, a charity rescuing and helping community cats all over the world. Paige Simpson is the Head of Development and Production at Rachel Brosnahan's production company, Scrap Paper Pictures, which has a first look TV deal with Amazon Studios. They recently produced YEARLY DEPARTED, is a one hour comedy special hosted by Phoebe Robinson starring Rachel Brosnahan, Tiffany Haddish, Patti Harrison, Natasha Leggero, Sarah Silverman, Natasha Rothwell, and Ziwe. The special serves as a funeral for the year 2020 where our comedians deliver eulogies about what we’ve lost this year including casual sex, TV Cops, wearing pants and everything in between. Previously, Paige was the Manager of Scripted Television and Production at Will Packer Media. While there, she worked on AMBITIONS for OWN and BIGGER for BET+, along with numerous other development projects. She also previously worked at Showtime Networks in Original Programming on The Affair, Billions, SMILF, Black Monday, Masters of Sex, and Dice. Before that, she worked for Viola Davis in many different facets. Paige graduated from Spelman College, majoring in Biology but found her true passion in storytelling while interning at BET with Tracy “Twinkie” Byrd and Michelle Adams in casting. During her internship, she assisted in casting Fruitvale Station, Being Mary Jane, and The Start-Up. Paige’s enthusiasm and love for this industry is palpable. I love that we seem to be cut from the same cloth; both having to blaze our own paths. I laughed. I cried (during editing). It was refreshing to commiserate and celebrate the ups and downs of the hustle. The hour flew by as we discussed: •Lessons from working with the queen @violadavis •The importance of keeping a group around you that loves and pushes you •Depression & self worth

On this episode we interviewed the eclectic and hilarious Michelle Adams aka "Foxy Rebel Yell". This Las Vegas based attorney discovered a love for music and rock n roll at young age, and now she spins her favorite tunes every Sunday on 22.3 TakeOver Vegas Radio. Her show is aptly titled Sex, Fox, and Rock N Roll, and along with playing killer music Foxy gives the lowdown on what's happening weekly in Vegas and has a special sex/porn talk section. Naturally we had to investigate... We were all cracking up throughout this podcast as we discussed everything from Star Trek nerds, to Foxy's sock fetish, to the mystery of why people where crocs, to social distanced lap dances and the AVN's (and how they all possibly relate). We sneak some music in as well and get some interesting background on our guest. If you don't like to laugh or are easily offended, steer clear of this episode. With a show loaded with sex talk it seemed only fitting to use A Good Rogering's music for both our new official intro and outro. July 25th will mark the 46th anniversary of the SCOTUS ruling on the Milliken v. Bradley case. Today, we revisit our episode from a year ago about this important and under-appreciated case. Joined by Michelle Adams, Constitutional Law Professor at Cardozo School of Law, who is writing Soul Force: Detroit, The Supreme Court, and the Epic Battle for Racial Justice in America, we discuss the case and its implications for today.Based in Detroit, the Milliken decision functionally halted the promise of Brown v Board of Education at the city limits, allowing all-white suburbs (created through policies like redlining) to maintain all-white schools. The implications for ideas about what is possible regarding desegregation today, and how we fund schools are profound. Overall, does technology actually help us or hurt us? More importantly how does it specifically affect our brains? It may seem like an impossible task to answer, or something that we will have to wait and see as we wait for this generation to grow older. However, thanks to companies like Marketing Brainology, we can see first hand the consequences of stress, multi-tasking, and the use of excessive technology has on our brains. Marketing Brainology focuses on helping companies connect to their consumers and shoppers by helping them to understand the art and science of the decision-making process. Their state of the art technology is used to study the brain as decisions are being made, and it also helps to understand how outside factors truly affect our brain. We had the honor of sitting down with President Dr. Michelle Adams to find out how their technology works, studies that they have done, along with the results, and the future for their innovative technology (because this can go way beyond marketing). Here is the official episode breakdown: 1:20 - We meet Michelle and learn more about her company, and how she got into this interesting field of Brain Science 5:20 - Michelle gives some great examples of some of the studies they’re currently working on, and the results the they have seen from their studies. Plus there’s one really great tip about how to get better engagement from Instagram Ads 6:30 - How they can tell what’s happening in the brain when things like auditory triggers happen, and what exactly they’re looking for in these studies 8:40 - The difference between highly emotional people vs. people who aren’t as emotional, and why it’s important to understand the different personality types when marketing 11:52 - With all of the opportunity of this technology, how is Brainology staying focused on the main studies that they’re doing? 14:10 - How can leaders utilize this technology to understand their workforce and how to better lead their teams? 15:10 - The future of brain monitoring, and the intricate details we can learn and monitor. 16:50 - How good is the data if there is so much variability in our brains, i.e., if simple, every day things like coffee and stress have such a huge impact on our brain productivity? 18:24 - With so many different personality types and so many different varying degrees of the brain, how do companies begin to make more general decisions in their advertising based on the feedback they’re getting from these studies? 21:10 - We dig deeper into the findings of men centered ads vs. women centered ads. 23:00 - Their partnership with Brain Scientific, and who they purchase their technology from 27:15 - The importance of messaging in ads, and how certain ones resonate with people 30:10 - How are companies embracing the whole Neuro-Science side to marketing, and how exactly are they using these tools as a whole within their strategy 32:30 - Are they truly understanding the caliber of these advanced studies? 34:30 - How does seasonality affect these studies and marketing, and does this cause the marketing and the messaging to change? 40:05 - The importance of rituals and memories when it comes to memory and remembering 42:30 - As much as we understanding the importance of nostalgia, when does a company know it’s time to pull a plug and move on to something new vs. hold on to the old. 44:30 - What are the trends generationally for marketing? 47:50 - With the evolution of the brain among generations, does the term multi-tasking still remain a myth?
Today, July 25th, is the 45th anniversary of the SCOTUS ruling on the Milliken v. Bradley case. We’re joined by Michelle Adams, Constitutional Law Professor at Cardozo School of Law, who is writing a book on this important and under-appreciated case. Based in Detroit, this case functionally halted the promise of Brown v Board of Education at the city limits, allowing all-white suburbs (created through policies like redlining) to maintain all-white schools. We talk about the history of the case, and what it means today. Impressive is quite the understatement to describe Michelle Adams' CV. She cut her teeth at Domino magazine, fresh out of college, only to return a few years resurrecting the interior's magazine after its hiatus in the role of editor in chief – making her the youngest EIC in Condé Nast history. Michelle has always been entrepreneurial. Even during her first stint at Domino, she founded her own soft goods and upholstery company, Rubie Green, after she noticed that the eco-friendly textile market was undertapped while researching for Domino's annual “green issue. She's perhaps, most well-known for co-founding Lonny magazine before later selling to Livingly Media. After Domino she decided to leave her life in New York and move closer to home in Ann Arbor, Michigan. “It was a big decision for sure, but honestly, I haven't looked back and I couldn't be happier to have made that kind of life change. I was burnt out and had spent so many years focusing on my career that I had lost touch with the things that matter to me, like my family, friends, and my own health. Now that I'm all settled in my home and my new consulting career is firmly in place, I can't imagine ever moving back to New York.” In today's episode Michelle talks about what it was like at the helm of some of the most influential interiors titles in the world and why she had no regrets walking away from it all and starting again with the launch of her online store, The Maryn. We explore how she's carved a definition of success on her own terms and break down what living her best life means now. www.themaryn.com Instagram: @themarynshop Join the Community · For more content, head to www.thelifestyleedit.comand click here to join thousands of female creatives in our newsletter community: http://bit.ly/2rVZVzo Work with Naomi: · Sign up for a complimentary discovery call: http://bit.ly/2wttos2 · Ready to raise your rates and double your income?
