Though with our guest in this dialogue, who can be quite sure of linear time?  Rudolf and Karin are in conversation with author Dr. Eric Wargo. Academically an anthropologist, Eric has extended his spirit of scientific enquiry through Hermeticism, Alchemy, and into the contemporary “paranormal” discourse at large.  Most specifically, he has taken on depth exploration of time: time loops, retrocausation, and precognition.  This branch of study began for Eric in 2009, after having a UFO/UAP Experience.  This anomalous experience created his initiation into the branch of modern scientists fully versed in scientific method yet fully aware of the mountain of Spooky anecdotal evidence of More.  Law of Large Numbers? Yes, acknowledged: and gently set aside.  Materialist explanation?  A precise language with descriptive validity and profound explanatory limitations.  Experience and initiation- their distinction, and coexistence- are honored throughout this conversation. Eric encountered break-out success with his 2018t book “Time Loops” (which Karin is on record as “passing out almost like Gospel” and scribe Emily keeps in her inner temple box of books).  He has also written on Precognitive Dreaming (2021).  In his current release, “From Nowhere”, he applies these insights to creativity.  Eric notes the role of skilled stress states, flow states, altered states, and creative states in the enhanced experience of precognition.  He also invites a cultural shift towards the upfront naming of retrocausation; moving past Cartesian duality; and  transcending the labyrinth closures found with all of free will, predestination, and Many Worlds theory. In the expanse of unknown, this interview spans a variety of lenses on time and anomaly.  We hear a definition of “retrocausation” that includes both the science of the subatomic level and the co-existing validity of intuitive experience.  The occult Higher Self as perhaps the Long Self which Eric articulates in relation to precognitive dreaming.  The notion of “flipping Freud” and symbolic precognitive insight as the method the Long Self can use to address our agency.  The challenges of True Will, Free Will, and dynamic interaction with choice.  Eric suggests that our “intentions” may frequently be misrecognized precognitions.  If this sounds like one wild moebius strip of a conversation: it is!  And highly enjoyable.  After you listen, carry receptivity for unfolding Wonder in your life events. Specialness is the theme of this chapter—and how to end it. The goal of specialness is to keep us separated without a notion that we are "harming ourselves." We can even make ourselves "die" and God cannot intervene, because of our Free Will. Yet the goal of death and dissolution is not our True Will that we share with God's Will. This Will is our only reality. The ego makes choices that lead us to misery and death, which we think are inevitable. Yet, we do not see we made them up. We want to be "special" and unique, unlike any other, more deserving of the good things in life than any other. This Specialness of the ego must come to an end if we are to make contact with our higher, God-created Self. The joy of being our God-Created Self, instead of the self we made up. The forgiveness of Specialness is an action everyone must take who enters into the Dimension of Holiness. Holiness is our true state of being, not "specialness." We can forgive ourselves for this mistake, and be glad!

Today marks Season 10, Episode 8 of Thoth-Hermes Podcast. For this conversation, Rudolf reconvenes with Chuck “CR” Dunning. The conversation submerges into esoteric freemasonry, then transcends into the union of ritual and exoteric religion. Far from limited to the interests of masonry, this is a multi-layered dialogue about the timeless moebius between sincere seekers of “light, life and love”. Chuck is a retired academic and psychotherapist, a self-disclosed Scottish Rite Mason, and author dedicated to guiding initiates into contemplative practice. Chuck has soft-spoken depth rare in today's scholarly world. His most recent book is an accessible compass of the Rose Croix mysteries. A Rose Croix Oratory (Stone Guild, 2023) has been lauded by readers and reviewers, appreciating its hands-on, plain-language approach. An upcoming publication will delve into Platonic mysticism and its parallels with Craft Masonry. The conversation speaks of the upper degrees' mythos of descent, laying to waste, then renewal and ascension. The 17th and 18th Degree introduce a visceral story of a mourning initiate, who through persistence encounters the teaching figure of the Nazarene. An encounter with “love” as the “charitas” and “agape” archetype offered by this teacher. This is not the Jesus of fast-food and sound byte religion: it is a mystical encounter of visceral “faith, hope and love”. Religious acceptance is optional, but depth initiation is required. Chuck also notes that all three Abrahamic traditions have wisdom teachings represented over the course of the initiate's journey. Later, Rudolf and Chuck name interesting implications of the “priestcraft” of ritual found to create change in accordance with the Will of a Higher Power, to connect to the Divine, and to become more effective worldly agents for it. Chuck names the direct root connection with the Catholic Mass ritual as well as the Protestant Order of Service, even in those denominations who might strenuously distance themselves from the concept of “magic”. This flows from Chuck's exploration of the Rose Croix texts and traditions that named ancient traditions illumination sources for the later emergence of Christianity. Other joyful content along the way includes a service-centered interpretation of the potency of alchemy, magic/magia, and kaballah. We reflect on the verified “alchemy” of meditative practice on the neurochemical physiology of the practitioner. And define True Will as readiness for change away from herd behavior, resiliency under repeated testing, and skillful refinement of personal identity; requiring the recentering on faith, hope and love. Jake Stretton-Kent died after an extended illness and the world will never be quite the same. Jake was a lot of things to a lot of people, clear from the hundreds of tributes written in Facebook and other social media platforms since the announcement. He was an incredibly influential magician and author, having given us Grimorium Verum, Geosophia, the Testament of Cyprian the Mage, Goetic Liturgy, Thus Spake Magnus Dictus and the Rosicrucifixion, amongst others. He also worked on each issue of Hadean Press' Conjure Codices. His laser-focus on relationships with spirits incited an entire generation of practitioners to a more thoughtful approach. He was a serious researcher and adept, a magical experimentalist while retaining both feet in a foundation of history and literature. Amusingly, to discover his sources, we often had to inquire personally about them. The bad part was that we couldn't just dig through his references, the good part was that when you asked him, he would provide a stunning background and a thorough understanding of anything he'd ever written. Jake was one of Thelema Now's favorite authors to interview because he was so damnably funny and ridiculously charming. We at Thelema, Now! wish Jake the best of future adventures. Join Kyle, Ardon, and Alec as they delve into the life of one of the most influential people of our history: ALEISTER CROWLEY! Aleister Crowley  was born 12 October 1875 – 1 December 1947. He was an Englishoccultist, ceremonial magician, poet, painter, novelist, and mountaineer. He founded the religion of Thelema, identifying himself as the prophet entrusted with guiding humanity into the Æon of Horus in the early 20th century.   Born to a wealthy family in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, Crowley rejected his parents' fundamentalist Christian Plymouth Brethren faith to pursue an interest in Western esotericism.. Some biographers allege that here he was recruited into a British intelligence agency, further suggesting that he remained a spy throughout his life. In 1898, he joined the esoteric Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, where he was trained in ceremonial magic. He went mountaineering in Mexico before studying Hindu and Buddhist practices in India. We are all asleep.  We are all zombies.  Everything we do is programmed.  Do you use generic phrases over and over?  How much of your behavior is the result of programming.  The world around is constantly programming us.  Our parents, our school, our media are constantly programming us. Is there any hope we can break this programming? The reason that mystics and certain other psychologists are always "attacking" the ego is that the ego is the one mechanical circuit that suffers chronically from the illusion that it is non-mechanical and "free." The ego and its delusions must be undermined--either attacked openly and bluntly, as in the Gurdjieff system and this book, or subverted more subtly and slowly, as in certain other systems--before any real progress can be made toward "liberation," "enlightenment," "finding IT," discovering the "True Will" in Crowley's sense, or whatever is your favorite term for becoming less robotic and more aware--less the computer and more the programmer of the computer--less the conditioned rat in the Behaviorist's maze and more the Beyond-Human that the Sufic-Hermetic traditions and Nietzsche have predicted. Mechanical reactions are the statistical norm; full conscious attention remains very rare. (That's why one Zen Master always gave the answer "Attention!" when he was asked what Zen "is.") Society is structured to implement and exploit the product of the "maladaptive fallacy." The maladaptive fallacy is the assumption that man is flawed and evil. To correct our "pathology" we have military, police, psychologists, sociologists, university professors, physicians, priests, politicians and their ilk whose "soul" purpose is to mold us into productive agents for their employment, and allowing us to accumulate possessions which will be re-distributed through acts of violence and war. Freedom comes from the knowledge of the Orphic Mysteries. Life oscillates between chaos and form. Try on a form, use it -- know it -- discard it. Then from chaos make a new form. Repeat the Cycles as often as possible and you will feel alive and free. Our sleeping brain is capable of anything and everything we wish. The solution to man's "problems" lies in first getting "himself" out of his own way, and then re-programming his brain according to his "true will". He is also remembered for bequeathing his Yonkers, New York estate, now known as Untermyer Park, to the people of New York State. Aleister Crowley (/ˈæleɪstər ˈkroʊli/; born Edward Alexander Crowley; 12 October 1875 – 1 December 1947) was an English occultist, ceremonial magician, poet, painter, novelist, and mountaineer. He founded the religion of Thelema, identifying himself as the prophet entrusted with guiding humanity into the Æon of Horus in the early 20th century. A prolific writer, he published widely over the course of his life. Some biographers allege that here he was recruited into a British intelligence agency, further suggesting that he remained a spy throughout his life. Discovering, and then enacting, one's True Will is the primary goal of all true and initiated magick, yoga, meditation and spiritual practice. Nothing could be more simple—and yet nothing is more practically difficult.

Alright Higherside Chatters, it's easy to feel disenfranchised with our cog in the wheel society and the life sucking Empire perched above it. Draining us spiritually, emotionally, and in every other sense of the word. Stifling our innovation and development., and filling us with the aggressive indoctrination that if you seek a path outside of normalcy you will no doubt, crash and burn. However, we still see some people outside of that cage who seem different: Freer, happier, enlightened and at peace – and we hear these outliers telling us that freedom is only a few brave choices away. That the Universe rewards the bold, and there isn't much holding us back except our own fear. It's a tough message to adopt, but there's no denying the persistent call to tear down those cubical walls, shatter the shackles of the Empire, and orient our lives towards our True Will and the path of the Esoteric Tradition.
