ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE! These days, AI is all the rage, but it's also fueling more late-night doomscrolling than many care to admit. Whether we like it or not, though, Artificial Intelligence is no longer the stuff of science fiction — it's here, it's evolving faster than we are, and in some unsettling ways, it feels like we've begun teaching rocks to think (what could go wrong?). On the bright side, the rocks in 3Q3D's cocktail glasses are still cold, and the conversation – at least for now – still involves real people. While Chris Mikolay appears to welcome our new AI overlords, noted technophobe and hunter-gatherer enthusiast Amanda Adams assumes Episode 91's hosting duties, leading the trio down a dark and winding path that questions how AI is reshaping creativity, education, relationships, and perhaps, what it even means to be human. DRINKS IN THIS EPISODE:BABY GUINNESS SHOT >> 1 oz Kahlúa; 1/2 oz Baileys Irish Cream (floated carefully on top). Pour the Kahlúa into a shot glass. Using the back of a spoon, carefully float the Baileys on top to create a layered – and nearly perfect – deep fake of a miniature Guinness.PERFECT MANHATTAN COCKTAIL >> 2 oz rye whiskey; 1/2 oz sweet vermouth; 1/2 oz dry vermouth; 2 dashes Angostura bitters. Add all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Stir until well chilled. Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass and garnish with a Luxardo cherry or a lemon twist. A classic cocktail that pairs perfectly with a Cadbury Egg (or 3).PINK GIN COCKTAIL >> 2 oz Dingle Gin (or any London dry gin); 2–3 dashes Angostura bitters. Add gin and bitters to a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir gently and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist if desired.Simple, sophisticated, and tinged with just enough mystery — fitting for a conversation about our AI future. Nominate The Philip Duff Show for the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards - “Best Broadcast, Podcast, or Online Video Series” category: https://spiritedawards.secure-platform.com/aDavid's a legend in the liquor business, ever since he and his business partner came up with the idea for Baileys Irish Cream, easily the most succesful liquor brand created in the last half-century or so. He followed up with brands like Tanqueray TEN, The Singleton, Smirnoff Black and many more, and wrote about them all - including his failures - in his brilliant and funny book “That Shit Will Never Sell”, of which he just released an updated and expanded second edition. We chatted about non-alcoholic “spirits”, the vodka market, Archer's and Peachtree, the new temperance movement, what Smirnoff Black, Tanqueray TEN and Absolut Elyx all had in common, and why he's giving away a genius brand idea to anyone who has the cojones to give it a try. As the branded content market has surpassed 20 Billion USD, and Art Basel attendees peaked at 80,000 visitors last year, more and more activations are taking over Art Basel Miami every season. For this episode, we're joined live by New York City based visual artist and creative director Alex Alpert to share how this international art week has helped shape his career, why he prefers creating with brands, and his unique journey to becoming an artist.Working as a street artist while studying music in school - Alex went on to build a career at Universal Music Group (UMG). Here, he excelled in brand partnerships, marketing and artist relations. While at UMG, he expanded his practice as a visual artist. He began by making pieces for the musicians he worked with, and created live art during concerts and events. After a few years, he was painting murals around the country, drawing live at huge events, and collaborating with major brands, like Nike, American Express, and Formula 1, and celebrities like Doja Cat and The Weeknd. In partnership with Baileys Irish Cream and recorded live and produced during NRVLD's Art of Wellness events during Art Basel Miami, this episode explores an important conversation on collaborations between the art world, commerce and brands, and best ways to blend with authenticity to keep powering society and the world. Rounding out our holiday double-header is a movie that raises a couple interesting questions: Can Santa Claus be sexy and is he responsible for all history's most deadly conflicts? We sip on some Baileys Irish Cream and try to sort out what this silver-fox Santa has done to humanity. What we do know is that Kurt Russell is having a great time playing Santa. We also talk about Midnight Run, Steven Seagal, and Beverly Hills Cop 3. We're not sure why.

David Gluckman grew up in South Africa when the country was still in the grip of apartheid. He arrived in London at the start of the sixties and spent a great deal of time chasing women, drinking booze and smoking cigarettes. He was an ad man and, albeit very briefly, he was a copywriter but it was as an inventor of drinks brands that he really found success. There's Baileys, of course, but David also invented Le Piat d'Or, Aqua Libra, Purdeys, The Singleton, Ciroc Vodka, Coole Swan, Smirnoff Black, Sheridans, Tanqueray Ten and many more. Trust us, if you're partial to the occasional alcoholic drink, David's probably got you smashed some time. These days, David writes books and advises start ups. He spoke to Mike McDowall from his home in London. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/remarkablestories/message
Tips for Summer Vacation at Walt Disney World (Hint, it's not the heat you have to worry about)More people seem to be planning summer vacations to Walt Disney World this year, including many who have never before visited during the summer months. Here's what you need to know and what to watch for:It's not so much the heat (which can be intense), but it's the rain. You would do well to make plans and reservations accordingly. Be careful about how much outdoor activity you plan between the hours of approximately 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. It's also hurricane season at this time of year and they're predicting a higher-than-average number of named storms this year. So it's more important than ever to keep that in mind.--How to Share Your Pride at Walt Disney World in June 2022Disney Parks are celebrating PRIDE Month in June as part of their commitment to recognize and celebrate the contributions, cultures and experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community. We're talking about a lot of desserts in 2022, and this week is no exception. Today, Mary Mac gives a recipe for red velvet cake that uses Firehouse Red Ale from North Country Brewing (northcountrybrewing.com). We got a little sidetracked with red velvet history and baking terms, but this Firehouse Red Velvet Cake is amazing! Not only is it moist and delicious, the frosting is a buttercream made with Baileys Irish Cream. Make it for someone special or as a special treat for yourself!

Irish singer/songwriter Joe Kearns is blessed with the gift of song and the gift of gab, and generously shares both with us. From his house near Dublin, he offers witty insights about the culture and pleasures of his beloved Ireland. -- Find out how to choose the best pubs, and why Dublin’s Trinity College — home of the medieval illustrated Book of Kells -- has a barrel ceiling. We talk of Kilkenny, a remote monastery in the Skellig Islands, the Ring of Kerry, and the Irish beauty of castles, lakes, mountains, and even a coral beach.-- Travel with Joe to the coolest music spot in Dingle, as we talk of the Celtic language and chat about colorful towns, a picnic atop the Cliffs of Moher, drinking honey Meade at a medieval banquet, and the pleasures of County Galway, the Wild Atlantic Way, and more. -- Coddle and Barmbrack are probably not what you think (they're classic Irish foods), and I add a memory about Baileys on corn flakes. -- Joe tells romantic travel stories set under Irish rainbows and "sideways rain."-- And then, best of all — Joe, a fabulous singer, takes out his guitar and sings a beloved Irish ballad, even using his whistle!_____Joe Kearns, now living back home near Dublin, is a world traveler and a gifted singer/songwriter, often accompanied by his wife, Olivia. He loves Ireland, and it shows in his words and music. J Smiles pours out her heart in this episode. Believing Zetty has a simple Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), she is forced to call 911. It turns out to be much more serious. The ER presents one obstacle after another as J tries to guide the staff on best practices and techniques to get Zetty to acquiesce to the many tests. Routine blood and urine samples become stressful, silly displays of the massive void regarding Alzheimer's disease awareness within the ER staff. Fortified by love, J fights to reduce her mom's "process" pain and establish a care plan with as many protective parameters as possible. J Smiles uses precise analogies and examples to give the listener an audio-visual of the emergency room and series of mishaps experienced due to ill prepared medical personnel. A hospital is for healing... usually.

Dragon Inn had operated in the space in the 1950s through the mid-1960s, last showing up in the city directory in 1965 with Mike's Tavern listed in 1966. Mike's Tavern had been under different ownership groups before Dunlea and a partner took over in 2010. It served a typical bar menu of Buffalo wings, loaded nachos, sliders, patty melts, pork tenderloins and the like, along with cheap beer. That made it popular with college students for decades. But Dunlea said in the last couple of years students from the nearby Rockhurst University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City have been leaving for places like the Brooksider Sports Bar & Grill in Brookside. His “beer and burger bar” also had caused him plenty of problems from staff turnover to college students trying to use fake IDs. So Dunlea and Brady shut Mike's down after school shut down in June, then they spent a couple of months remodeling the red brick building, putting in a new front and back bar, and an open kitchen where Brady can see some of his customers in the back dining room (Mike's former video game room). “Now it's a ‘from scratch' kitchen with locally sourced ingredients and cooked to order, no microwaves,” Brady said. “Classic Irish dishes with a twist. My scones are an old family recipe, probably been around for 100 years,” he said. “But my mixed berry jam, that was just something I started doing because I'm not a big fan of store-bought jam — too sweet, too many preservatives. Mine has strawberries, raspberries, blueberries with a little vanilla and sugar. Fresh is always better.” At just 15 years old, Brady started working in a restaurant in his native Nenagh, in County Tipperary, a town of about 8,000 people. He moved to Dublin a year later and earned a degree at DIT School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology in 2001. He worked in Dublin, then traveled in Europe and Asia before moving to Chicago in 2006 with his wife, who is from Wichita. At Brady's Public House, menu items include Scotch eggs (boiled egg wrapped in pork sausage, breaded and fried and served with Colman's Mustard); curried spice fries; “handwiches” such as the Irishman with corned beef, caramelized onions and cheddar cheese with an Irish Whiskey & Guinness mustard; the Irish Whiskey cured salmon BLT with a sun-dried tomato aioli; fish and chips; fried chicken in a maple brine with mashed potatoes and green beans; P.E.I. mussels with fries; and steak and Guinness pie. Brady said what Americans call Shepherd's Pie has hamburger and mashed potatoes. But in Ireland that's known as Cottage Pie while Shepherd's Pie comes with lamb or mutton. So his Traditional Cottage Pie comes with ground beef, carrots, onions, celery and peas, topped with Colman's mustard mashed potatoes and served with a side of Irish soda bread made in-house. Desserts include Guinness brownie parfaits, cinnamon apple bread pudding with warm Baileys Irish Cream and Guinness ice cream floats. “We're Irish so we cook with a lot of alcohol. Our Scotch eggs are flying out the door, our sausage rolls. You could always grab a sausage roll, they were always available breakfast, lunch or dinner in Ireland,” he said. Brady can see customers from his open kitchen and often stops by customers' tables to check in. “I look at their expressions when they try the food and their eyes grow wider,” Brady said. “One hundred people can tell me something is the best they ever had, but if one person has a bad meal they can tell 10 people. So we want to make sure everyone has a great experience and leaves happy.” Read more here: http://www.kansascity.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/cityscape/article170675297.html#storylink=cpy @BradysKC @KCIrishFest #KansasCityIrish #SlackerMorningShow101theFox #TMobile
