The Miami Heat "are open to listening to offers" for star wing Jimmy Butler, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. Charania added, however, that any deal would have to be "right" for Miami in order to get the Heat to bite. Butler's agent, meanwhile, has communicated the idea the six-time All-Star would potentially embrace a move to the Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks or Golden State Warriors.

We're in conversation with Dr. Gulzar Charania about her incredible new book “Fighting Feelings: Lessons in Gendered Racism and Queer Life.” Fighting Feelings is about Black and racialized women, answering the question: “how and in what directions do we learn to think, act, and live in relation to racism”? The book touches on so many things that we talk regularly about on Academic Aunties. How women of colour navigate intensely white spaces, how perceptions of our ‘excellence' can only really be understood in relation to who doesn't get to be excellent, and how, as Gulzar writes, we constantly ‘fight feelings, and other times use feelings to fight'.It's a book that I really think all of you will love and I am so happy that we had a chance to talk to Gulzar about her journey in writing it.Related Links:Fighting Feelings: Lessons in Gendered Racism and Queer Life, by Gulzar R. Sorprende hasta qué punto ha tenido que llegar la NBA para recordar que esta competición consiste en que las estrellas deben jugar siempre que no estén lesionados, sobre todo si los partidos se retransmiten a nivel nacional. Aprende a escribir, Charania. Mientras tanto, a seguir esperando el traspaso de Harden y Lillard, y a seguir descubriendo más hermanos de Antetokounmpo, y a seguir despotricando sobre Rudy Gobert.

The rumors linking Kyrie Irving to LeBron James are pretty old hat at this point, but Monday provided a new wrinkle. Instead of Irving heading to LA to join James with the Lakers, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported that Irving has called LeBron to try and get him to come to Dallas. He's got a fan club there, including Irving, Mavs star Luka Doncic, their coach in Jason Kidd, and more. But while Charania's report got everyone's attention, and fast, the actual mechanics of getting James to Dallas are laughably hard. Maybe he'd accept a buyout, if the Lakers would actually offer him one, which they won't. And even then, it seems unlikely he'd leave the kind of money on the table that he'd have to sacrifice to go from a team that made the Western Conference Finals to one that just missed the playoffs. So what about a trade?Well, have you looked at the Mavericks' roster lately? Woof. What if Dallas included as much draft capital as possible, including the 10th pick in this year's Draft? Well, maybe that gets Rob Pelinka's attention, and maybe then only if James demanded to be moved, and threatened to tank the season if he didn't get his way. Not likely, given his history on the court. The notion he'd risk one of his last seasons in the NBA to leverage a trade seems far fetched. So what does this amount to? A good conversation about how the market for Kyrie may not be what he'd hoped, how challenging the task of getting him to Los Angeles will be (and why, therefore, it's unlikely) and how Dallas is in really, really bad shape. Very little room to maneuver, almost forced to give Kyrie a max, but without any real depth or appealing trade material to improve the team.Meanwhile, Monday's show focused a great deal on how Frank Vogel's hiring in Phoenix could impact Darvin Ham's staff. But how might it impact the perception of Ham, as a coach?HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: Kyrie wants to bring LeBron to Dallas. Of late, The Athletic's Shams Charania hasn't exactly been the bearer of good news for Lakers fans. And Monday, talking with FanDuelTV, wasn't much different.Charania noted that while the Lakers are going to re-evaluate LeBron James after three weeks, there is certainly some belief that the actual length of LeBron's absence could extend past that mark. Well past it, potentially, calling into serious question just how much regular season action James might get before a (hypothetical) play-in matchup. Or whether the Lakers can hang on long enough to even make those last few games meaningful. And what exactly will be the considerations the Lakers and LeBron make when deciding whether LeBron can/should return to action? It's all very speculative and super-unpleasant for the Lakers, and puts that much more pressure on Anthony Davis to elevate the team, D'Angelo Russell to get back on the floor, and the supporting cast to rise a little above role player status. But the flip side? The schedule is favorable. The Lakers play teams in front of them, they play teams that are slumping. They play teams, like Tuesday against Memphis, missing significant pieces (Ja Morant, Steven Adams, Brandon Clarke). They've shown themselves fully capable of winning games since the deadline. One reason? Guys like Troy Brown Jr., who has thrived since the Lakers reorganized the roster at the deadline, finding a steadier role, greater confidence and plenty of rhythm. He's now firmly occupying that spot on the roster of cheap offseason additions last summer that now look appealing to hold on to this summer, but could be tough because he's outplayed his contract. Finally, the Lakers will retire Pau Gasol's 16 on Tuesday. He's one of the best humans we've covered in sports, and now finds himself not only representing a symbol of basketball greatness and Lakers greatness, but as important connective tissue for the memory of Kobe Bryant. It's a unique role he is well-suited to play.HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: Just how many games is LeBron going to miss, now?SEGMENT 2: The burden on AD, and the increasing confidence of Troy Brown.SEGMENT 3: Pau Gasol gets his jersey retired tonight.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar.

All the polls that we reported showing Republican candidates surging in the final weeks of their campaigns, the race ratings from the Cook Political Report, and the overconfident statements from GOP leaders were all significantly overly optimistic about what we all watched play out on Tuesday night. There were GOP victories — Ron DeSantis and Marco Rubio in Florida, J.D. Vance in Ohio, Ted Budd in North Carolina, Brian Kemp in Georgia, Jen Kiggans in Virginia, to name a few — but conservatives were sold a false bill of goods from the leaders tasked with delivering GOP majorities. Those promising great success in order to consolidate power, in a drapes-measuring move, hoping to land a leadership position in a new Republican majority may be the worst offenders who owe the Republican electorate the most answers. Among them are the leadership of the Republican National Committee, including Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, the chairs of the National Republican Congressional Committee — Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) — and National Republican Senatorial Committee — Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), and the House Republican Leader — Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). In an election year that favored Republicans purely for its timing as the first midterm of the Biden administration, an advantage that should have been helped by a president with chronically underwater approval, inflation above eight percent, surging crime and drug overdose crises, a wide open border, and so many more reasons, there's no reason Republican candidates should have performed as poorly as they did. https://redstate.com/bonchie/2022/11/09/breaking-pennsylvania-senate-race-called-n655867 Pennsylvania Senate Race Called for Fetterman Democrat John Fetterman has won the Pennsylvania US senate election against Republican Mehmet Oz. The race ended up close, but Fetterman’s overperformance with blue-collar voters pushed him over the finish line. He will now head to Washington, DC, in January as part of what will almost certainly remain a Democrat-controlled Senate. What else can you say? The Republican Party lost to a man who is not cognitively all there. As Matt Walsh put it: The Republican Party outside of Florida has no message. No discipline. No leadership. No courage to confront the important issues head on. That’s why they’re losing to literally brain damaged candidates. We need a total overhaul. But I think I like Jeff Durbin’s take better: “Our nation won't see meaningful and lasting change apart from Christ through any election. Transformation comes through regeneration and repentance. Hope is in the King and not the legislature. Red without His blood is meaningless. Conservative without Christ is futile.” https://www.axios.com/2022/11/09/nevada-senate-election-results?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=editorial&utm_source=twitter Results in Nevada Senate race delayed due to paper ballots Nevada's midterm election results have been delayed, according to local election officials, leaving the state's high-stakes Senate race outcome in the balance as of early Wednesday. Driving the news: Two counties where the vast majority of Nevada voters reside aren't expected to start counting some mail-in ballots until Wednesday, The Nevada Independent reported. In Clark County, a shortage of election workers was causing the delay, while Washoe County received large volumes of mail and drop-off ballots, per the Independent, which spoke to county officials. Nevada state law also allows mail-in ballots to arrive days after Election Day so long as they are postmarked by Nov. 8, per Forbes. Nevada's race is one of four key Senate battlegrounds that remained uncalled early Wednesday. Georgia, Wisconsin and Arizona are also unresolved. What they're saying: "Clark is not counting drop boxes tonight, but, to be clear, we said all along that we would only have some of the results on election night," Jennifer Russell, a spokesperson for the Nevada secretary of state, told NBC News Tuesday. "By law, Nevada counties have until Nov. 12 to receive mail ballots." "We're all used to elections where it was as simple as plugging in USB sticks and running the results," Bethany Drysdale, a spokesperson for Washoe County, told the Reno Gazette Journal. "We can't do that now because there are so many paper ballots. It's going to take longer. This is the new normal for election night." https://www.foxnews.com/live-news/2022-midterm-elections-voting-results-predictions-candidates-updates Key races across the country still being called, House, Senate majorities still up for grabs Georgia Senate results: Warnock, Walker tell supporters to hang tight with race too close to call The United States Senate race in Georgia does not have a clear winner as neither incumbent Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock nor his Republican challenger Herschel Walker have claimed an outright majority of the vote so far. As of Wednesday morning, the race is too close to call, according to the Fox News Decision Desk, with more than 3.8 million ballots cast and Warnock leading Walker by approximately 35,000 votes. Warnock holds 49.42% of the vote, with 1,935,464 votes in his favor, and Walker has 48.52% with 1,900,168 votes. Third-party candidate Chase Oliver has 80,895 votes with 97.94% of precincts reporting. Georgia law requires a candidate to surpass 50% of the vote to win an election, and a runoff between the top two vote-getters will be held on Dec. 6 if no candidate meets that requirement. Stacey Abrams, after election loss, vows 'I won’t stop running for a better Georgia' Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams lost to Gov. Brian Kemp for the second time on Tuesday, but indicated that she does not plan on exiting the political arena. Abrams gave a concession speech on Election Night after results showed that she had lost to Kemp in a race that was not particularly close. Abrams famously declined to formally concede to Kemp in 2018 after a narrow defeat, claiming at the time that the election was rigged by voter suppression. This time around, she made no such claim and only looked to the future. Alabama election results: Republican Katie Britt becomes state's first female elected senator Republican Katie Britt has made history by becoming the first woman to be elected to the U.S. Senate from Alabama. The self-described 40-year-old "mama on a mission" is projected by Fox News’ Decision Desk to defeat Democrat Will Boyd after, so far, capturing around two thirds of the vote. Republican George Santos flips Democratic House seat in New York Republican George Santos flipped New York’s 3rd Congressional district Wednesday and secured another House seat for the GOP. Santos defeated Democrat Robert Zimmerman, who was vying to fill the Long Island seat after Democrat Rep. Tom Suozzi announced he would be retiring to take a stab at New York governor. Suozzi came in a distant third in the Democratic primaries in the governor’s race, but Santos secured his place in Congress by running on cutting taxes, boosting border security and rallying against cashless bail. The Associated Press called the race shortly after 1:30 a.m. once the Republican held a lead of 54.2% of the vote over Zimmerman’s 45.8%, with 90% of the votes already counted. It’s worth noting that Santos is a homosexual… so we need to be praying for his repentance on that front. ‘Squad’ rolls to easy victories in House races Perhaps the worst news of the day… The progressive House members collectively known as the “Squad” easily won reelection in their respective elections on Tuesday. Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., Cori Bush, D-Mo., and Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., were all projected by The Associated Press as winning by wide margins. Bowman, who represents New York's 16th Congressional District comprising parts of the Bronx and Westchester County, had the slimmest margin of victory and yet still was leading 65%-34% against Republican challenger Miriam Flisser, with more than 91% of results reporting. Ocasio-Cortez, Omar, Pressley, and Tlaib were the founding members of the "Squad," who gained notoriety as freshman lawmakers after the 2018 election for pushing the Democratic House conference to the left. Bush and Bowman joined the informal group after winning election in 2020. Westminster Effects: Have a guitarist in your life? Kentucky voters reject constitutional amendment declaring no right to abortion Voters in Republican-leaning Kentucky have rejected a proposed amendment to the state constitution that would have denied any right to abortion. The result of Tuesday’s election comes months after the Supreme Court overturned the right to abortion in a decision that has led to near-total bans in a dozen states, including in Kentucky. The ballot question had asked Kentuckians if they wanted to amend the constitution to say: "To protect human life, nothing in this Constitution shall be construed to secure or protect a right to abortion or require the funding of abortion." The outcome highlights a gap between voters and the state’s Republican-controlled Legislature, which added the proposed amendment to the 2022 general election slate a year ago in a move some thought would drive more conservative voters to the polls. While seen as an important win for abortion-rights advocates, the amendment's defeat will have no practical impact on the right to an abortion if a sweeping ban on the procedure approved by lawmakers survives a legal challenge presently before the state Supreme Court. Michigan voters pass measure protecting abortion rights, other pregnancy-related decisions The people of the state of Michigan voted in favor of a new measure that protects abortion and other decisions related to reproduction and pregnancy. Proposal 3 amends the state constitution by adding rights to abortion and contraception. It states that everyone has a "fundamental right to reproductive freedom," defining this as including -- but not being limited to -- "prenatal care, childbirth, postpartum care, contraception, sterilization, abortion care, miscarriage management, and infertility care." The measure also allows the state to regulate abortion after the time a fetus becomes viable. The approval of the proposal came months after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, which gave states the power to protect or ban abortion. The decision in June lead to near-total bans in a dozen states and was a hot topic leading up to the midterms. The passing of the proposal puts a definitive end to a 1931 ban on abortion that had been blocked in court, but could have been reviewed. Opponents to the measure said protecting abortion rights could have far-reaching effects on other laws in the state, such as one requiring parental notification of an abortion for someone under age 18. Legal experts said changes to other laws would only happen if someone sued and won, a process that could take years and has no certainty of success, The Associated Press reported. Irving was indefinitely suspended after he shared an Amazon link to the film Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America The Movie to his Twitter account. Following the suspension announcement, Irving apologized for sharing the movie link. Now a new report from The Athletic’s Shams Charania claims the Nets have six demands Irving must meet in order to return to the team. Charania wrote on Twitter, “Sources: Nets have delivered Kyrie Irving six items he must complete to return to team: – Apologize/condemn movie – $500K donation to anti-hate causes – Sensitivity training – Antisemitic training – Meet with ADL, Jewish leaders – Meet with Joe Tsai to demonstrate understanding.” It’s unclear how legitimate these demands are given Irving had previously announced in a joint statement with the NBA and the Anti-Defamation League that he would donate $500,000 to the Anti-Defamation League. The ADL rejected Irving’s donation with the organization’s CEO Jonathan Greenblatt responding to Irving’s apology. YouTuber Ryan Kinel of Sports Wars reacted to this list of demands and the actions the Brooklyn Nets and the NBA have taken against Irving. It is no surprise that nearly every team in the NBA has constructed a trade package for Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant. While every team would love to have him, only a select few teams actually possess the assets needed to make a trade possible. With reports indicating that the Brooklyn Nets are seeking All-Star level players, young pieces, and several draft picks in exchange for Kevin Durant, not many teams have what it takes to pull-off a deal. In a recent report from The Athletic's Shams Charania, the Golden State Warriors, Toronto Raptors, Phoenix Suns, and Miami Heat were mentioned as the teams currently leading the race for Kevin Durant. "Teams like Phoenix, Miami, Toronto, Golden State, those are really among the teams that are gonna be at the forefront, as far as trying to pursue a Kevin Durant deal," Charania said. "But given the asking price that has already been set forth, this is a process that could take several weeks, could take several months, could take the remainder of this offseason."For now, it seems as if the same teams continue to remain at the top of these discussions, which is not surprising when considering the available packages they possess. The Warriors, Raptors, Heat, and Suns all have All-Star level players, young talent, and draft choices that could be of interest to Brooklyn. The deciding factor on where Durant ends up, will likely come down to which team willingly departs with the largest combination of those three desired returns for the Nets.

A ver si el Draft ayuda a muchas otras, pero no parece una hornada muy diferencial.

Lakers Signed DJ Augustin; Waived DeAndre Jordan | Lakers Signed Wenyen Gabriel To A Two-Way Deal The Los Angeles Lakers didn't make any significant changes to their underperforming roster ahead of the trade deadline, but they will reportedly make a move to bolster their backcourt before the season's stretch run. Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported on Monday the Purple and Gold "intend to waive DeAndre Jordan and sign free agent guard D.J. Augustin" to back up Russell Westbrook and provide additional shooting. Charania also reported the Lakers plan to sign Wenyen Gabriel to a two-way NBA contract. Gabriel played collegiately at Kentucky and has appeared in a combined 58 NBA games the past three seasons for the Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Pelicans, Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers. He played seven games this season for the Nets and Clippers and averaged 2.0 points and 2.1 rebounds. The Jordan and Augustin move is the one that will generate the most headlines considering their respective resumes. After all, there was a time when Jordan was one of the most productive big men in the league during his prime on the Clippers. He was an All-Star in 2016-17 and is a three-time All-NBA selection, two-time All-Defensive selection and two-time rebounding champion. Yet Jordan's days of skying above the rim for Chris Paul alley-oops and notching double-doubles on an almost nightly basis appear to be in the past. The 33-year-old played 32 games for the Lakers this season and averaged 4.1 points and 5.4 rebounds a night. Jordan largely fell out of the team's rotation and hasn't played more than 20 minutes since Dec. 19. The addition of Augustin will give the Lakers another ball-handler and veteran presence in the backcourt. The Texas product has been in the league since the 2008-09 campaign and has suited up for the Charlotte Hornets, Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, Oklahoma City Thunder, Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks and Houston Rockets. He appeared in 34 games this season for the Rockets and averaged 5.4 points, 2.2 assists and 1.2 rebounds while shooting an impressive 40.6 percent from three-point range. It is that shooting that surely made Augustin attractive for Los Angeles considering Westbrook notoriously struggles from deep and there are plenty of outside looks available when playing alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis. So Z Nation, what do you think about the Lakers signing DJ Augustin and waiving DeAndre Jordan??? Comments down below

Lakers HC Frank Vogel Enters COVID Protocols; David Fizdale to Coach vs. Bulls The Los Angeles Lakers will be without head coach Frank Vogel for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bulls. Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported Vogel was placed in the league's health and safety protocols ahead of the contest. That means David Fizdale will be the acting head coach. Fizdale has head coaching experience from his time with the Memphis Grizzlies and New York Knicks. Sunday's game between the Lakers and the Bulls pits two of the teams that have made many of the league's headlines of late when it comes to the health and safety protocols against each other. L.A. has also missed assistant coach Phil Handy the last two games because of the health and safety protocols. In addition to Vogel, 48, Lakers swingman Kent Bazemore also entered the protocols Sunday. Bazemore joins teammates Avery Bradley, Talen Horton-Tucker, Dwight Howard, Malik Monk, Kendrick Nunn and Austin Reaves in the league's health and safety protocols. The Lakers are also without Anthony Davis, who will miss about four weeks with an MCL sprain in his left knee. Russell Westbrook was in protocols but was ruled clear and available prior to Friday's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. LeBron James was also in protocols earlier this month, but Charania reported the initial positive test was inconclusive and he was cleared with multiple negative ones. DeAndre Jordan to Sign 1-Year, $2.6M Lakers Contract After Clearing Waivers DeAndre Jordan will sign a one-year, $2.6 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers after clearing waivers, per Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic. Charania and Wojnarowski both reported that the Pistons intended to waive Jordan following a buyout, making him a free agent if he clears waivers. Charania and James Edwards III of The Athletic also added that Jordan intends to give back $4 million of the remaining $20 million on his deal as part of the buyout agreement with Detroit. Wojnarowski reported earlier Friday that the Lakers were a "serious contender" for Jordan if the Pistons bought him out. With that appearing to be the case, Jordan will join a Lakers team that has a bevy of veterans 30 years or older playing on one-year deals surrounding a big three of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. Jordan is entering his 14th NBA season, and this is his second stint in L.A. The first one was with the Clippers, who selected the ex-Texas A&M big man with the 35th overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft. Jordan averaged 9.4 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game during his 10 seasons with the L.A. Clippers, which included a pair of rebounding titles and a 2017 All-Star Game appearance. Jordan signed as a free agent with the Dallas Mavericks in the summer of 2018. Since then, he's also played for the New York Knicks and Nets. Kyrie Irving suggests players to skip NBA's Orlando return. He believes that the NBA’s return would provide people with a distraction from those protests. According to “Sports Illustrated”, On Friday, Nets guard Kyrie Irving reportedly led a conference call with over 80 fellow NBA players, including Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, Donovan Mitchell, Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard. On the call, Irving, who is expected to miss the rest of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery in February, expressed his opposition to the league's plan to resume the 2019-20 season in Orlando, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium."I don’t support going into Orlando," Irving reportedly said. "I’m not with the systematic racism and the bulls--t. Something smells a little fishy."Charania reports that Irving also said he's "willing to give up everything" for social reform. However, Lebron James doesn’t believe those things are mutually exclusive.James believes he can play basketball and affect social change all at once, Amick reports.“He wants to keep making his mark off the court. He wants to play basketball. And as has always been the case, he clearly believes he can do both at the same time.”Also in the episode, Ginny Fuchs, U.S. Olympic boxer, won't face punishment for a positive drug test after officials say she accidentally ingested banned substances through sex.According to TMZ,USADA launched an investigation after tested positive for drugs and said it was all because she was having sex her boyfriend without protection.Turns out she wasn't lying ... USADA officials say her positive sample did, in fact, come through intercourse.“I had no idea that you could get contaminated through intimate contact," Fuchs said in an interview with Fox 26's Mark Berman. "And I've just learned a lesson about this now and I want other athletes to learn from my mistake."Well, we didn’t know it’s possible but it looks like it is. So she will face no penalty for a positive drug test. All this and more - in the new exciting episode of “Bleav in sports gossip” with Simonna.Follow our host on Twitter @Simonna and Instagram @TheRealSimonnaAnd let’s stay connected!

“That's another part of the healing journey. For me it looks like – you can't change your past, what's the next best thing you can do? You can change somebody else's future.” – Shenan Charania Shenan Charania works as a Transformative Leadership and Performance coach. His work is about pointing his clients to explore their fundamental potential, then helping them live what they discover out in the world in the most creative, effective and sustainable way possible. Shenan has reinvented himself throughout his life always searching for a deeper and more meaningful connection to his soul.  After moving with his family to Vancouver Canada at the age of 11 and facing a deep culture shock amongst other unseen challenges in this new country, Shenan found himself reacting to his environment with aggression which led to him making poor choices early in life. Before he could fully grasp the results of these choices, he found himself in a destructive, gang-related lifestyle.   He led himself back out of what seemed like an impossible journey from a life filled with confusion and pain to achieve his dream of owning his own business.  At age 29, he was the owner of a restaurant that was doing incredibly well but he found himself not fulfilled with his surroundings. He felt stuck and confused. It was then that he discovered his true passion and it was in the service of others.  Shenan now works with men, women and families who are willing to explore themselves and live from their highest capacity in the most ordinary and inevitable way, helping them design their lives with less restrictions, deeper connections, and meaningful experiences that is completely unique to them. He also volunteers his time to work with youth at risk inside of schools, and in external programs alongside teachers, police officers and community leaders helping to bring awareness, solutions and creating opportunities for a more inclusive, transparent and functional society.      Show Notes [02:08] Patrick introduces his next TEDM Guest: Shenan Charania [03:46] Shenan and Patrick get things rolling with Shenan expanding on the podcast introduction to explain what he does and how he describes Transformative Coaching. [07:04] Patrick and Shenan dive into a discussion on why and how someone would seek out a transformative coach but as Shenan also points out – “when” is also an important consideration. Getting from good to great. [11:21] Shenan's approach with his coaching has changed some in the last few years. He sets a baseline with his clients to help get them grounded and clear on who they are and how they're creating their reality. That significantly broadens the creative space from where they can explore and expand the new reality they seek to create. [13:37] Shenan shares his perspective on how his style of coaching is of benefit and value to anyone who is looking for extraordinary results. He shares the #1 thing people need most in any scenario whether relationships, health, leadership, finances, self-care or business. [17:05] The distinction between the brain and the mind. The brain is the hard drive, the mind powers the brain. Shenan works with people to direct them to hang on less and less to thoughts they “think” are important so that they may create space for a calm and clear mind. [20:33] Stress and worry will contract our mind and limit our ability to problem solve effectively. Shenan suggests we look at ourselves as the laboratory. Let thoughts run their natural course and dissipate instead of cluttering our minds. [22:19] Parking this part of this conversation with a final note: indecision is really the decision to not make a decision. It is still a decision and it may be more appropriate and powerful to press pause. [23:20] Shenan goes back to share more about his background: where he was born, at what point he and his family immigrated to Canada, a deeper dive into why his parents chose Canada and what they did when they arrived.

Mohsin Charania became just the sixth person, and is one of only eight total players, who have won poker's Triple Crown. To earn the honor, a player needs to win a World Series of Poker bracelet, a World Poker Tour title, and a European Poker Tour main event. The Chicago-native picked up his EPT title back in 2012, winning the Grand Finale for more than €1.3 million. He won the WPT Grand Prix de Paris in 2013, and then the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic in 2014 for almost $1.5 million. The University of Illinois graduate then completed the Triple Crown in 2017 when he took down a $1,500 no-limit hold'em event at the WSOP. Although he briefly worked in finance and considered law school, poker kept calling Charania back. In total, the 33-year-old has earned more than $6.1 million in live tournaments, and just slightly more than that online as well. Before Black Friday, Charania was one of the top-ranked online players, competing under the names 'sms9231' and 'chicagocards1.' Highlights from this interview include getting used to jewelry, an athlete's walk of shame, taking the hard classes for fun, being 21 in Vegas and playing $50-$100 no-limit, going broke and needing mom's debit card to get home, getting a real job for just two weeks, winning TV upgrades and furniture, leaving law school for poker, a diet of coke, pizza, and Indian food, turning a win into a tenth-place finish, a helpful basketball game with Faraz Jaka, interview do-overs, winning poker's Triple Crown, why life is a honeymoon, finding a woman who understands Sundays, swapping with a WSOP main event champion, why Americans are the worst poker players in the world, and Kevin McAllister with a gun.
