CSR is big. But now there is also CCR – corporate cultural responsibility. We have seen several corporates jump enthusiastically into patronage of music, arts and culture. How does it help the brand? Is there some thought given to these interventions and patronage? We find out from Jay Shah, Vice President – Cultural Outreach, Mahindra Group, which has as many as seven festivals running and is a big patron of culture. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/business-line/message

At a time where most public organizataions are making strong statements in response to the recent ongoing protests in response to the killing of George Floyd, there are those calling for action beyond a statement. Fanny Guadalupe Blauer, board member for Artes de México en Utah and Cultural Outreach representative and Accountant for the Natural History Museum of Utah together with Vicky Lowe, artist and educator join us to discuss some of the important sociocultural realities and challenges that exist in eradicating prejudices, racism, and police brutality including having a better cultural and historical understanding of all our own indigenous ancestry, becoming more familiar with the history of this country regarding oppression of minorities, and the some of the many ways systemic racism manifest. Durante un tiempo en el que muchas organizaciones han hecho fuertes declaraciones como respuesta a las continuas protestas contra la matanza de George Floyd, hay quienes piden más acción
In this short episode, Brock and Jeremy discuss the murder of George Floyd and some of the questions raised by how companies are responding. Though we're not always the best at articulating it, this is a topic we're looking to continue to discuss on Millennial Exec. We can't focus on career development, hiring practices, and diversity in our companies until Black lives matter in every community and every company in our country. Our podcast is dedicated to learning from each other across our generation. We know the time is now to listen, learn, and take action to make change happen. We recommend Episode 3 with Kristen Messerli, the Founder of Cultural Outreach, where we discuss both her personal experience but also the goal of Cultural Outreach to support diversity and inclusion in the financial services and real estate industries. We could have done a better job explaining how and why this is such an important issue, but the good news is that we'll have plenty of time in the future to explore this. Today's episode is just step 1 in recognizing our privilege and making the commitment continue to address racial inequity and systemic inequality in business, tech, and career opportunities. We must do better. We want to do better. We will take time to read, research, and listen, specifically to our future guests who will provide their experience firsthand.Links and recommendations:8 Can't Wait: Specific policies every police department can adopt today to save livesJeremy's post on his response to the murder of George Floyd."Corporate America has failed Black America," Sunday Business, The New York Times, June 6, 2020. On this episode of Financially Naked: Stories from The Financial Gym, our host is Terri, Level 2 Trainer. She is joined by Kristin Messerli, founder of Cultural Outreach and Ardley, to talk home-buying education. Kristin started Cultural Outreach about six years ago. Her primary goal was to bridge the gap between financial services, primarily mortgages and home buying. People in her generation and the underserved markets she was serving at that time didn’t have access to that information. Prior to starting her company, Kristin was a social worker. She did a lot of financial education and housing coordination. There is a huge wealth disparity and gap in home buying. Show notes: https://financialgym.com/financiallynakedpodcast/episode25

It's been 2+ weeks since Andrew Yang “suspended” his campaign and promised that “We are just getting started.” Whether you're hard core Yang Gang and were about to sell your couch to keep feeding the Humanity First movement, Yang Curious, or, just desperately wanting to believe in an America where a guy like Andrew Yang could come out of nowhere, shock the political establishment, and rewrite the rules of the 21st century economy to work for US, you’re likely moving through the stages of grief and attempting to pivot with grace to the new normal - one where Andrew is a CNN correspondent and two Billionaires and Bernie are still in this. Do I believe we will eventually all be dancing on the Washington Mall, listening to President Yang delivering on his promises and uniting a nation that is getting stranger by the second and terribly divided? YES, but: Until that day, here to preach the GOSPEL OF YANG and offer us some much needed THERAPY is Reverend Wendy Hamilton(@revwendy3), ordained minister, education professional, Mother, Twitter Goddess, and someone who dishes from the heart on all things YANG, shedding her unique light on the toll the Caucus chaos and underwhelming results in New Hampshire did to the campaign’s psyche, epiphanies from the trail, her journey from seriously OG supporter (February of 2018!) to riding the bus as his Director of Spiritual and Cultural Outreach, and SO. MUCH. MORE. While its been 850 something days since the 12th and final podcast of season one of Packing for Crazy town, and I'm a little rusty, when I came upon Reverend Wendy on Twitter, I resolved I would do my part to promote Andrew’s message through Wendy’s voice and story. Thank you for giving me a little slack on the overall quality of the podcast. This is a DIY operation:) This conversation was recorded on the day of the Nevada Debate, and after spending many hours editing it, I realized that it's not my role to decide what issues are important to the Yang Nation, so I decided to #letwendyspeak:) and put out the UNEDITED CONVERSATION, complete with my ums and ya knows, since every word out of her mouth is GOLD and MATTERS. I’m not sure if this is the beginning of season 2 of Packing for Crazy Town which I launched in 2017 as a way to "Magnetize conversations around positivity in the “clown care pileup era of America,”' or merely a one-off gift to to the Yang Gang. Either way it’s two hours of pure love, revelation, and fire from someone who I have come to think of as the embodying the essence of “Humanity First.” Contact me: spella2020@gmail.com For Reverend Wendy's full bio and more Packing for Crazy Town Posts: https://packingforcrazytown.com/ Find Reverend Wendy: @revwendy3 revwendy3@gmail.com

The average loan professional is around 50 years old, and it can be difficult to connect with clients of younger generations. What do millenials value the most? What type of communication do they prefer? How can we build trust with them? In this episode, Kristin Messerli talks about how to attract clients from a younger customer base. Millenials and Gen Z are more likely to work with a company that identifies with a cause. -Kristin Messerli Resources Take your mortgage business to the next level. Visit nextlevello.com for more information. Click here to schedule your free no-obligation Next Level Coaching Call: https://nextlevello.com/schedule Three Things We Learned From This Episode Millennials value transparency and education (02:30- 03:30) We can get better at attracting a younger customer base by being transparent and focusing on education rather than sales pitches. Millenials are very skeptical of sales people, and the only way we can convince them to work with us is by focusing less on selling and more on helping them out. Utilize texting and video messages (06:20-07:38) Millenials are more comfortable answering texts as opposed to picking up the phone. But when it comes to big purchases, texting alone isn’t enough to build trust and make them feel good about working with us. Video responses are a great way to build the connection that’s missing from texting without forcing people to go to our office. Trust is the deciding factor (10:00-13:12) There’s always someone cheaper or more productive than us, but when it comes to a big purchase, trust is what wins the deal. When it comes to millennials, they prefer professionals who are active on social media and authentic in their communication. The younger generations value transparency and education. They prefer companies who not only deliver good service, but also have a cause that they can identify with. If we want to succeed at attracting a younger customer base, we have to be more involved in the local community. We also need to stay active on social media, as Millenials are most likely to make contact with us on a social media platform. Guest Bio- Kristin Messerli is a national speaker and founder of Cultural Outreach where she helps businesses reach a younger and more diverse customer base.
