John interviews Angela Ambrosia, an energy healer and spiritual coach from Sydney, Australia. Angela shares her journey into dance and how it has helped her connect with others and herself on a deeper level. She discusses the power of dance in transcending barriers and creating a sense of unity and connection. Angela also explores the role of dance in relationships, emphasising the importance of presence, compassion, and self-acceptance. She highlights how dance can help individuals tap into their true essence and experience the joy of being in the present moment.  KEY TAKEAWAYS Dance can be a powerful tool for connecting with oneself and others. It allows for a sense of oneness and connection that transcends race, gender, and cultural backgrounds. Dancing can help us tap into our true essence and experience a sense of love and joy that goes beyond our personality and insecurities. The dance can support the development of self-appreciation, self-acceptance, and compassion, which are essential for healthy relationships. Dancing with others can help us feel and understand their energy, leading to a deeper connection and empathy. Even if someone doesn't consider themselves a dancer, there are other movement practices, such as Qigong, Tai Chi, or interactive exercises, that can help them explore their energy and connect with others. BEST MOMENTS "The dance was a very easy way to get that connection. You didn't need to speak. You didn't need to even have a similar cultural background." - Angela Ambrosia "The dance gives you that sense of self that's beyond your personality, that then supports that capacity of the witness self to come in and go, hang on, what's going on here?" - Angela Ambrosia "The dance is where you get to experience it with improvisation and surrendering of those parts of yourself that you may not feel so comfortable about." - Angela Ambrosia "We all feel insignificant and we're craving significance. So that's part of our human condition. And the heart connection in the dance for me was able to manage that craving for significance." - Angela Ambrosia "Movement is much more about how do we feel each other's energy. So the more anything you can do to just feel, breathe, that to me is dancing because you can just even an in-breath and an out-breath is incredible." - Angela Ambrosia Links: www.johnkennycoaching.com The Bicycle Affect: https://youtu.be/oO7XZGvdWno Relationship Video course and 1-2-1 coaching: Relationship Ready Online Programme - John Kenny (johnkennycoaching.com) To get in touch - email – john@johnkennycoaching.com or book a complimentary call –https://calendly.com/johnkennycoaching/30min If people want to order a copy of the book then they can just pay postage of £4.95 (RRP £8.99) - www.johnkennycoaching.com/podcast-book-offer Want to be able to address the relationship issues in your life? - Why not book in for a complimentary call and we can discuss how you can get the new started with some new types of relationships - https://calendly.com/johnkennycoaching/30min The Relationship Guy Podcast - https://omny.fm/shows/the-relationship-guy Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/johnkennycoaching LinkedIn – https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-kenny-coaching Insta – https://www.instagram.com/johnkennycoaching/ Twitter – https://www.twitter.com/johnkennycoach YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHTj9x6Tlo7lcIJITyx-tgQ Clubhouse - @relationshipguy I am John Kenny, Award Winning Relationship Coach. HR MATTERS

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 3, 2023 28:19

Irene Anggreeni is a dedicated coach who specializes in mental health topics, fostering better self-care and sustainable success for both leaders and their teams. As an advocate for mental health, she works to remove the stigma surrounding it. Her own life experiences have been formative in shaping her approach. Her work is deeply heartfelt and driven by her personal story. In her pursuit of validation as a valuable member of society as an engineer, she pushed herself to the brink until she was diagnosed with clinical depression. This diagnosis marked a turning point, leading her on an uphill journey of self-healing. Embracing this transformative experience, Irene retrained as a dance movement therapist and coach. This transformation gave her valuable tools that she is now passionate about sharing with others. Her approach emphasizes holistic self-care: how do we take care of ourselves and our emotions in a way that involves our whole being, not just our analytical minds. She is still actively growing through these challenges, in a life-long process of integrating mindfulness, kindness, compassion, and self-connection in her daily life. That is also what we extend to other people, particularly as leaders that support and serve their teams, creating an environment where team members can learn and grow ensuring that their team have the chance to learn and grow. Demonstrating self-compassion is essential as it positively impacts how leaders carry forward their responsibilities and model how we can work together effectively. A significant outcome of this approach is increased psychological safety. With openness and reduced fear of speaking up or asking questions, healthier dynamics and clearer communication lead to improved overall performance. When people feel safe to experiment and try new things, creativity and innovation flourish within an organization. Before self-regulation can happen, you need to be aware of awareness of your internal state. Irene emphasizes the use of movement: when you recognize the sensations and emotions triggered within your body, you have the ability to channel them physically, through things like shifting your posture and conscious breathing. It will bring you a sense of grounding and space and it is a way to escape the cognitive mind that wants to take over 100%. Sometimes words are not enough, or they get in the way. A lot of leaders know a lot. And sometimes, there's sometimes missing – you need more than just knowledge. Tap back into the nonverbal creative self that you are, too. Reclaim your body. Tap into it as your resource. Reconnect with your inner self and enhance your well-being. And dance more

Alla is someone who has really gone through a wonderful career for own and as far as I remember has actually been in the emergency rooms and has done some, you know, classical work inside of the conventional medical model, but it's in some ways, as far away from the conventional medical model as yours truly at this point, really delivering on a new and special and honest to goodness, like effective way of helping people heal.    Dr. Alla Goldman YouTube Channel   ------   Show Notes:   Introductions. 0:00 How did you get your start as a doctor? 1:41 What makes me very different from other doctors? 4:21 How to help others. 6:41 The power of conscious dance. 8:57 What kind of comedy do you find most enjoyable? 14:29 How do you find your joy? 16:42 Mentors and mentors for healing. 19:26 Public speaking and making a difference. 21:53 Where to find out more about him? 24:10

Dance Your Way to Healing with Courtney Ramm Born and raised in the heart of New York City, Courtney Ramm has followed her passion for dancing to a career as a professional dancer, choreographer, and teacher.  She's directed dance schools, performed, and taught worldwide, from Singapore to Thailand to Manhattan. Dancing since the age of two, you could say that Courtney was born to dance.  At age 8, she studied at the renowned School of American Ballet and, soon after that, performed on New York's most significant stages. By age 25, she had lived all over the world with a strong resume behind her.  Acting upon a strong inner calling, Courtney soon left the concrete jungle of Manhattan for the tropical jungle of Hawaii to start her own dance company. With a strong determination to succeed and an endless to-do list, Courtney got to work on building a new picture-perfect life for herself but always felt that something was missing - the perfect husband. Until one day, at a spiritual gathering, she would lock eyes with a man that would leave her feeling something was off, but she couldn't help the intensity of his stare. Ignoring all the warning signs, Courtney dove into a relationship, not grasping the graveness and outright danger of her decision, but soon realizing that she was going down a dark path and making life-altering mistakes while doing it. After exhausting every possible way to make things better and now the mother of two young children, Courtney knew that she had to find a way out, or she wouldn't make it.   Once out, Courtney would find herself feeling completely worthless and pretty much at rock bottom.   Seeking help from the outside world and returning to her love of dance, Courtney found a way to heal and rebuild a new life for herself and her children…realizing that she would make it. In her memoir, Eris Rising, Courtney tells her story of breaking deep karmic patterns, grappling with the calling of destiny, and reconnecting with her inner warrior to show others that it is possible to move forward after life-altering mistakes and inspire them to recover the true “genius” within. Now the founder and artistic director of Ramm Dance, a non-profit dance company that blends the love of dance with holistic healing, Courtney has changed long-held karma into a mission for helping others heal and rise from domestic violence. Listen in as Courtney, and I discuss growing up in the dance world, her life-altering mistakes, and how she turned it all around to find your own path to FEARLESS HAPPYNESS!

Obviously, those kinds of spaces have been short on existence this year, but I really miss those type of environments. I've been able to do the occasional party mix here and there for livestream events, but it's not the same and I long for the community that exists around these gatherings of music and dance.
