There’s the felling and the debarking and the cutting and the planing and the sanding and the drilling and the glueing and the pounding. But the final product can serve people for generations. Midnight hours often bring reflection, anxiety, or loneliness—especially when the world grows quiet. In today's prayer, Peyton Garland beautifully captures this sacred stillness, recounting her own moments of solitude as a mother and wife to a traveling pilot. From a Tennessee farm filled with unexpected late-night birdsong, she draws two powerful truths: We are never alone, even in darkness. We were not made to be alone, and healthy, godly relationships are vital. This devotion is a gentle reminder that even in the stillness, God sings over us and gives us a song to sing in return. Today's Prayer Leans on This Bible Verse:

Today we're answering the question, “How does nature teach us about the seasons?" I get to talk with my new friend, Rachel G. Jordan. She is a marine biologist and spiritual guide and using the ocean as a lens, she points us to the way God is revealed in biology AND IT IS SO COOL. Sometimes coming to Christian faith means that life gets harder and we don't like that. We will all find ourselves in moments or seasons of discouragement, but we can wrestle through it with reverence. The main way to fight discouragement is by having a knowledge of God's Word that helps you lean into Christ, and in this week's episode, the Perrys walk through a number of passages in this episode to help us do just that. Segment 1: • Christians cheer a Navy SEAL's appearance on Rogan as “gospel shared”—but was it? • Todd clarifies difference between chit-chat about Christianity, apologetics, and actual evangelism. • Chad Wright's testimony: reading Matthew, realizing sin, needing salvation—strong on depravity but not yet a full gospel. Segment 2: • Chad explains total depravity, regeneration, salvation by grace alone—impressively deep theology. • Missing pieces: no clear explanation of wrath, judgment, or Christ's substitutionary death. • Todd evaluates whether a full gospel was actually presented or just strong testimony. Segment 3: • Chad strategically shifts conversation back to sin and death—explaining original sin clearly. • Describes death as the result of sin, judgment as certain, Jesus as taking punishment. • Todd affirms this could be gospel—but clarity on God's wrath is still lacking. Segment 4: • Chad's theology on Jesus' physical body, resurrection, and glorification is solid but speculative at points. • Todd: Good doctrine, but still no explicit penal substitution or wrath explained. • Evangelism analogy: You can't just share “parts” of the gospel—you must give the whole picture. ___ Thanks for listening! Genesis 6V1-22 with Tyler Staton Genesis is where the Scriptures begin—introducing God as Creator and laying the foundation for the rest of the biblical story. There is often a disconnect from what we read in scripture and how we experience life. God says, “I have not given you a spirit of fear,” but we keenly feel fear and anxiety. We know that God has saved our souls through Christ's death and resurrection, but we still feel like past wounds/choices/lies come between us and hearing His voice. One powerful way to work towards freedom in these areas is through a biblically-based program of inner healing prayer. My guest Jennifer Barnett of Freedom Prayer joins me to talk about inner healing prayer or freedom prayer, a powerful process that helps restore individuals to a more fruitful and fulfilling walk with God. “Inner healing prayer is its own sort of type of prayer. If you're not familiar with it, we would say it's some really intentional time devoted to allowing God to remove anything that would hinder someone from a full abiding relationship with him. That could look like sin, wounding, ungodly beliefs, or lies that we believe about ourselves, God or other people.” My experience with inner healing prayer has been so powerful and I believe it can be for you too. In this powerful and thought-provoking episode, Granger dives headfirst into a bold question from a listener: "Is Donald Trump the Antichrist?" Using Scripture as the foundation, Granger breaks down what the Bible actually says about the Antichrist, false prophets, and the spirit of deception—offering a biblically grounded, thoughtful response that avoids sensationalism. Alongside co-host AntMan, the two reflect on the aftermath of Ant’s recent health scare, discuss the ins and outs of producing After MidNite, and make a big announcement: The Granger Smith Podcast is going on tour! They share where they’re headed, who’s coming along, and what listeners can expect from this live, in-person experience. Our words have power—to either build up or break down. In today's prayer, Vivian Bricker reflects on how the wisdom passed down from her mother shaped her own understanding of the importance of speech, and how Scripture calls us to use our tongues as trees of life. Whether we’ve been wounded by words or regret the ones we’ve spoken, there is hope and healing through Christ. By surrendering our speech to Him, we allow God to shape our words into sources of encouragement, compassion, and truth. Today's Prayer Leans on This Bible Verse:
Feeling like we're inadequate causes us to focus solely on ourselves instead of on God, and brings us into self-effort to try to improve ourselves. We're delivered from this emotion through our belief in Jesus Christ and our dependence on Him. The world has plenty of “solutions” for the negative emotions associated with condemnation, but trusting in and relying on Jesus is the only permanent one. Most guys tend to fall off one side of the horse: either rejecting their emotions altogether or letting them run the show. But what if there's a better way? With biblical insight and real-life examples, Chris makes the case that emotions aren't something to obey or ignore—they're something to redeem. He shares a practical framework for navigating emotions like anger, fear, and sadness through a gospel lens, helping men avoid the extremes of emotional numbness or chaos. This episode is a call for men to stop being passive with their emotions and start learning how to steward them like Jesus did—intentionally, righteously, and powerfully. What You'll Learn:Why men are more emotional than they realizeThe 3 questions every man should ask when he feels something deeplyHow to know if your emotions are leading you toward Christ—or away from HimWhy “being true to yourself” is not a biblical ideaWhat Jesus, Nehemiah, and Esther teach us about godly emotionHow to break the pattern of reacting emotionally and start responding spirituallyWhy redeemed emotions can actually strengthen your leadership as a husband and fatherMentioned in This Episode:“Emotions are a check engine light, not a GPS” analogyJonathan Edwards on righteous vs. carnal affectionsMark 11 (Jesus' righteous anger)Genesis 4 (Cain's destructive jealousy)Nehemiah 1 and Matthew 27 (sadness that rebuilds vs. sadness that destroys)Esther 4 and Luke 22 (courage vs. fear)Book Jerrad to speak: jerradlopes.comGrab Dad Tired and Loving It: Amazon LinkToday's Sponsor: Classical Conversations
If God is love, why does the Old Testament sometimes portray Him as harsh? Many people struggle to reconcile that image with the loving Jesus of the New Testament. But if you question God's character, it will be difficult to approach Him. Join Andrew as he reveals God's true nature, so you can relate to Him without a shadow of doubt—He is love.
Dr. Craig interacts with a response to the current fascination with A I and arguments for God.
Why do some hearts come alive to Scripture while others stay cold? In this episode of Light + Truth, John Piper opens Psalm 119:17–24 to show that only God can give us sight.
