Starting in the late 50's, the Hamptons was largely farmland, and people built small, intricate Modernist houses to get away from city life.  Today, with a new wave of huge houses and immense wealth controlling real estate, preservationists are focusing on both creating new modest Modernist houses and saving midcentury Modernist houses from the bulldozer.  David Sokol is the former managing editor of ID magazine and the author of  Hamptons Modern: Contemporary Living on the East End. When Tim Godbold he learned that Norman Jaffe's Lloyds House in East Hampton had been torn down, he felt sure that an architectural conservancy in the Hamptons would be on the case, but as happens in many communities, none existed, so in 2020, he started Hamptons 20th Century Modern devoted saving the Hamptons' Modernist heritage. Later on, like magic, it's musical guest Robin McKelle.

Our female founder this week is Suzanne Godbold of Three Best Bakery and one of our Masterminders. She opened her bakery business just three months before the pandemic hit and pivoted her approach to secure a six-figure 2020!  Suzanne decided to take the leap and turn her baking passion into a profession. Her products were flying off the shelves and tasted delicious, but she lacked the systems to scale long term. She ran out of ingredients every day and felt she couldn't increase volume without sacrificing quality and brand authenticity.  We reflect on our transformational first session with Suzanne and the importance of mindset. With a bit of mindset work, Suzanne built the confidence to double her prices, which contributed to her success and ability to take bigger steps in hiring resulting in her being able to make more room for creative control and growth. You can hear in her voice how her confidence is growing by the minute, and her sales are reflecting that mindset shift. She's even created a solid work/life balance, clocking out at 5pm every day to spend time with her family.  The impact joining Mastermind has had on Suzanne is extraordinary. By getting out of her own way and throwing herself into the community aspect of Multi-Stream Machine and the Mastermind, she has broken through her self-limiting ceiling and ended 2021 as a multi six-figure business! No matter what age you are, we can all get stagnant. However, stagnancy can lead to boredom, and if we're not careful, boredom can lead to trouble. In today's Omar Pinto Coaching Podcast, Stacey Godbold, Marketing Guru, Strategist, Visionary and Storyteller shares some incredible insight on where she's been and how she got to where she is today. From a young age, Stacey admits she did everything “alcoholically.” As a runner, she spent all her time immersed in her sport, which later took a backseat during her addiction. Years later after she got sober, she began powerlifting and found a community in CrossFit. Little did she know the values she learned in the CrossFit community would come to use years later. Through losing a career, playing the critic, the teacher, Stacey notes the moments in her life where everything crumbled ultimately led her to being a student of life and asking the important “why's.”  Why do I keep doing the same old thing? Stacey had to get to the root cause of why she had to fill her God-shaped hole with distractions, but when we start to feel bored, and pain, it's an invitation for us to grow, by allowing ourselves to be guided by an external force to give and receive.  Through giving and receiving, the journey of life lands with the knowledge and recognition of who you are. And once we get there, it's time for us to take that information and transition, evolve, and grow.  What You Will Discover:   [1:45] Finding your value beyond external things through life's trials.   [10:00] Learning to show up for yourself by letting go of the negativity and toxicity in your life.   [18:16] How to do and be who you're supposed to be without criticizing others.   [23:33] The importance of understanding your addiction by learning about it.   [30:07] The fun in being a perfectly imperfect human that uses their mistakes and failures to inspire and motivate others.   [41:29] Make a list of things that don't build you and a plan for those that will help you in your recovery journey.   [50:22] Learn to listen to your intuition and trusting yourself to find your way after you fall. Stacey Godbold is a student living in gratitude, sober mom of four, athlete and continues to manifest positive things in her life. Like...you know it in your bones?  How about feeling like you are meant to do more but you have no idea what they this?  I know those feelings well and so does my guest Wynn Godbold. In this episode of the Unstuck podcast, Wynn reminds us of the Audrey Hepburn quote "Nothing is impossible. The word itself says I'm possible."  Sometimes we live small and hold ourselves back because of the limiting beliefs that we've developed throughout our lives, especially as a child. We are born with a purpose, our truth, but slowly it is covered up by the programing of our environment.  Wynn helps us look at those belief systems and gives us tips to replace them with our truth.  Don't forget to hit subscribe and leave a comment to let me know how this helped. When Long moved to Florida, Godbold and Cook divided the remaining responsibilities. While they at first tried splitting the baking and the decorating, they found the workflow wasn’t efficient. Cook, who has a degree in business, took over the finances, taxes, and practical business needs. Godbold took on all of the baking, decorating, social media, and marketing. Along with refining her baking skills, Godbold learned that her customers weren’t on Instagram or Facebook. “At the beginning, I was trying to do paid ads and do all these things and market on Facebook but that really doesn’t sell for this market,” she explained. “Most of my customers didn’t find me on Facebook. It was word of mouth or they tried our cookies at someone’s event. Once I figured that out, it took a lot of stress off of social media. Social media is just fun. It’s a fun case to showcase our art and product and meet people.” Referrals turned into regular customers, and they also started selling cookies at the Me and McGee Market, a stand dedicated to local produce, meats, cheese, products, and crafts. “When we first started marketing, it was a little bit of a struggle trying to find who our customer is,” shared Godbold. “Who would appreciate what we do and who is looking for what we were offering because we’re not trying to compete with Walmart. We’re not even trying to compete with some of the other local storefront bakeries. You can’t call me up on a Tuesday morning and say, ‘Hey, can I have three dozen decorated cookies by this afternoon?’ It’s not going to happen because I need at least three days. It took a little bit, but once we really found our customer base, who understands us, they understand what we put into it. They know that I’m a stay-at-home mom and that I do this from 8 pm until midnight or sometimes later during the week. They appreciate our work and are willing to pay for what we’re offering.” Special Guest: Suzanne Godbold.
