Cumpra princípios e você viverá as promessas.

Today we have Julian Lambert and Gisele Karangwa on the PwC People Pulse, both work in Audit at PwC but spoke about getting certifications alongside working. Julian and Gisele have both gotten certifications during their time at PwC Luxembourg. Julian completed the IRE (Institut des Réviseurs d'Entreprises), Gisele has completed the OEC (Ordre des Experts-Comptables), the French Chartered Accountancy diploma and hopes to next complete the IRE. As well, both mentioned that AI is the next topic they would like to learn more about, potentially completing a course or certification about this in the future. Both guests highlighted the benefit of getting certifications as it kept them up to date and developing in their field as well as extending their remit. Regulations, particularly in the EU, are ever evolving and staying up to date with the latest changes is a challenge. For clients of PwC, knowing that the people they are working with are up to date and have proved their competency is an important part of trusting them. Julian equated the experience of getting his certification to going back to university, but this time with the real world working experience that gave, what he felt was, a an important base to build from. As well, he continued working through the time studying so was able to directly apply what he was learning. The main take away from speaking to Julian and Gisele was that staying curious and ready to learn is an important part of their professional successes. *this is a sponsored post*

Oliver Goldsmith (born Nov. 10, 1730, Kilkenny West, County Westmeath, Ire.—died April 4, 1774, London) was an Anglo-Irish essayist, poet, novelist, dramatist, and eccentric, made famous by such works as the series of essays The Citizen of the World, or, Letters from a Chinese Philosopher (1762), the poem The Deserted Village (1770), the novel The Vicar of Wakefield (1766), and the play She Stoops to Conquer (1773).Goldsmith was the son of an Anglo-Irish clergyman, the Rev. Charles Goldsmith, curate in charge of Kilkenny West, County Westmeath. At about the time of his birth, the family moved into a substantial house at nearby Lissoy, where Oliver spent his childhood. Much has been recorded concerning his youth, his unhappy years as an undergraduate at Trinity College, Dublin, where he received the B.A. degree in February 1749, and his many misadventures before he left Ireland in the autumn of 1752 to study in the medical school at Edinburgh. His father was now dead, but several of his relations had undertaken to support him in his pursuit of a medical degree. Later on, in London, he came to be known as Dr. Goldsmith—Doctor being the courtesy title for one who held the Bachelor of Medicine—but he took no degree while at Edinburgh nor, so far as anyone knows, during the two-year period when, despite his meagre funds, which were eventually exhausted, he somehow managed to make his way through Europe. The first period of his life ended with his arrival in London, bedraggled and penniless, early in 1756.Goldsmith's rise from total obscurity was a matter of only a few years. He worked as an apothecary's assistant, school usher, physician, and as a hack writer—reviewing, translating, and compiling. Much of his work was for Ralph Griffiths's Monthly Review. It remains amazing that this young Irish vagabond, unknown, uncouth, unlearned, and unreliable, was yet able within a few years to climb from obscurity to mix with aristocrats and the intellectual elite of London. Such a rise was possible because Goldsmith had one quality, soon noticed by booksellers and the public, that his fellow literary hacks did not possess—the gift of a graceful, lively, and readable style. His rise began with the Enquiry into the Present State of Polite Learning in Europe (1759), a minor work. Soon he emerged as an essayist, in The Bee and other periodicals, and above all in his Chinese Letters. These essays were first published in the journal The Public Ledger and were collected as The Citizen of the World in 1762. The same year brought his Life of Richard Nash, of Bath, Esq. Already Goldsmith was acquiring those distinguished and often helpful friends whom he alternately annoyed and amused, shocked and charmed—Samuel Johnson, Sir Joshua Reynolds, Thomas Percy, David Garrick, Edmund Burke, and James Boswell. The obscure drudge of 1759 became in 1764 one of the nine founder-members of the famous Club, a select body, including Reynolds, Johnson, and Burke, which met weekly for supper and talk. Goldsmith could now afford to live more comfortably, but his extravagance continually ran him into debt, and he was forced to undertake more hack work. He thus produced histories of England and of ancient Rome and Greece, biographies, verse anthologies, translations, and works of popular science. These were mainly compilations of works by other authors, which Goldsmith then distilled and enlivened by his own gift for fine writing. Some of these makeshift compilations went on being reprinted well into the 19th century, however.By 1762 Goldsmith had established himself as an essayist with his Citizen of the World, in which he used the device of satirizing Western society through the eyes of an Oriental visitor to London. By 1764 he had won a reputation as a poet with The Traveller, the first work to which he put his name. It embodied both his memories of tramping through Europe and his political ideas. In 1770 he confirmed that reputation with the more famous Deserted Village, which contains charming vignettes of rural life while denouncing the evictions of the country poor at the hands of wealthy landowners. In 1766 Goldsmith revealed himself as a novelist with The Vicar of Wakefield (written in 1762), a portrait of village life whose idealization of the countryside, sentimental moralizing, and melodramatic incidents are underlain by a sharp but good-natured irony. In 1768 Goldsmith turned to the theatre with The Good Natur'd Man, which was followed in 1773 by the much more effective She Stoops to Conquer, which was immediately successful. This play has outlived almost all other English-language comedies from the early 18th to the late 19th century by virtue of its broadly farcical horseplay and vivid, humorous characterizations.During his last decade Goldsmith's conversational encounters with Johnson and others, his foolishness, and his wit were preserved in Boswell's Life of Samuel Johnson. Goldsmith eventually became deeply embroiled in mounting debts despite his considerable earnings as an author, though, and after a short illness in the spring of 1774 he died.-bio via Britannica This is a public episode.

“the Christmas Tree is a tree of fable,/A phoenix in evergreen”Cecil Day Lewis tackles the leave-taking of Christmas and the emotional upheaval in can work in the hearts of kids from 1 to 92. Happy reading (and don't take down that tree yet!)Lewis, (born April 27, 1904, Ballintubbert, County Leix, Ire.—died May 22, 1972, Hadley Wood, Hertfordshire, Eng.) was one of the leading British poets of the 1930s; he then turned from poetry of left-wing political statement to an individual lyricism expressed in more traditional forms. The son of a clergyman, Day-Lewis was educated at the University of Oxford and taught school until 1935. His Transitional Poem (1929) had already attracted attention, and in the 1930s he was closely associated with W.H. Auden (whose style influenced his own) and other poets who sought a left-wing political solution to the ills of the day. Typical of his views at that time is the verse sequence The Magnetic Mountain (1933) and the critical study A Hope for Poetry(1934).Day-Lewis was Clark lecturer at the University of Cambridge in 1946; his lectures there were published as The Poetic Image (1947). In 1952 he published his verse translation of Virgil's Aeneid, which was commissioned by the BBC. He also translated Virgil's Georgics (1940) and Eclogues (1963). He was professor of poetry at Oxford from 1951 to 1956. The Buried Day (1960), his autobiography, discusses his acceptance and later rejection of communism. Collected Poemsappeared in 1954. Later volumes of verse include The Room and Other Poems (1965) and The Whispering Roots (1970). The Complete Poems of C. Day-Lewis was published in 1992.At his death he was poet laureate, having succeeded John Masefield in 1968. Under the pseudonym of Nicholas Blake he also wrote detective novels, including Minute for Murder (1948) and Whisper in the Gloom (1954).-bio via Britannica Get full access to The Daily Poem Podcast at dailypoempod.substack.com/subscribe

Interview with Tim Harrison, Managing Director of Ionic Rare EarthsOur previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/ionic-rare-earths-asxixr-low-cost-high-margin-magnet-recycling-play-6278Recording date: 10th December 2024Australia-listed Ionic Rare Earths Limited (IRE) is making significant strides in its magnet and heavy rare earths recycling project in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The company expects to receive substantial support from the UK government in the form of grant funding in Q1 2025, following the successful completion of a feasibility study.IRE's Belfast plant is set to provide the UK with sovereign capability for magnet rare earths, which are crucial components in the electric motors used in EVs and wind turbines. By securing a domestic source of these critical materials, the project aims to support the UK's automotive sector, which employs around one million people. The UK government has recognized the strategic importance of the project and has already provided £5 million in grants and commitments to date. The upcoming grant allocation, part of the £850 million Automotive Transformation Fund, is expected to be a significant cornerstone commitment towards the £85 million capital expenditure required for the commercial plant.IRE's strategy involves leveraging its intellectual property and process design expertise to partner with industry players and investors, minimizing its own capital requirements. The company has demonstrated its recycling technology at pilot scale and is in discussions with strategic investors and potential offtake partners. To expand globally at a lower cost, IRE is pursuing a licensing model, partnering with local companies to establish joint venture facilities. The company has already formed a joint venture in Brazil called Viridion, which plans to build rare earths recycling capacity and a refinery to process mixed rare earth carbonate from its Colossus project. One of the key advantages of IRE's magnet recycling business model is its potential for growth. As rare earth magnet production increases to meet the growing demand from EVs and wind power, the amount of scrap and waste material available for recycling will also increase, providing a steady feedstock for IRE's plants. The outlook for magnet rare earths is strong, driven by the global shift towards electric vehicles and renewable energy. As countries and automakers set ambitious targets for EV adoption and the expansion of wind power, the demand for magnet rare earths is expected to soar. Recycling offers a sustainable and geopolitically secure alternative to traditional mining, and IRE is well-positioned to capitalize on this growing market opportunity.View Ionic Rare Earth's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/ionic-rare-earths-ltdSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Please visit www.ChiTag.com and use the promo code READ to save on tickets! If you're a fan of middle-grade fantasy with a unique cultural twist, you'll love chatting with author JC Cervantes about her latest book, "The Daggers of Ire." JC is no stranger to the "Reading with Your Kids" podcast, and it was a delight to have her back on the show to dive into the magical world she's created. "The Daggers of Ire" follows the story of Esme Santiago, a young witch struggling to harness her powers. When all the witches in her town, including her own family, are stolen by a witch hunter, Esme and her best friend Thiago embark on a quest to find the four original witches and save the day. But with no one having seen these legendary figures in centuries, it's an impossible task. As JC explains, crafting this magical system and origin story from a Latino perspective was both a passion project and a major challenge. She wanted to shine a light on the rich traditions of brujería (witchcraft) in Mexico and how it has influenced her own family's beliefs. From the importance of connecting to a greater spiritual source to the everyday practice of magic, JC's personal experiences infuse the story with authenticity and heart. Beyond the magical elements, JC also delves into the power of sisterhood and the unique perspective that children can bring to the table. She encourages young readers to embrace their creativity, let their imaginations run wild, and not be afraid of a little fear and judgment along the way. We also had a chance to speak with Sandy Green. Sandy Green's new middle-grade novel "The Haunting of Lake Lucy" takes readers on a spooky adventure at a lakeside resort. When Jake and his twin sister Evie arrive for summer vacation, they encounter mysterious stories about the lake's haunted past. Inspired by Sandy's own family trips, the book follows the siblings as they attempt to communicate with the ghost through letters in a mailbox, leading to a thrilling exploration of the haunted house next door. Sandy explains how she cleverly crafted the story in verse to engage reluctant readers, using different poetic forms to match the mood and themes. With a focus on the power of imagination and the mysteries that lurk beneath the surface, "The Haunting of Lake Lucy" is a delightfully chilling middle-grade read. Whether you're a longtime fan of JC's work or discovering her for the first time, "The Daggers of Ire" is a must-read middle-grade fantasy that celebrates Latino culture, the strength of friendship, and the magic of the unknown. Part One. Money Philosopher Michael Sakraida, author of Money, Balance and Joy: Improving Your Life Story, dives into the chaos of balancing wealth and happiness in today's noisy ever-changing world. Spoiler: it's not just about stacking cash. Michael unveils his three-part happiness equation—monetary wealth, time wealth, and social wealth—and why you need all three in harmony to live your best life. He doesn't hold back, taking shots at Wall Street, risk tolerance tests, and the “Financial Media Smut Club” for ignoring the emotional reality of money management. From showing why financial independence is about more than just collecting paychecks to calling out those unregulated financial influencers, Michael mixes real talk with a sprinkle of humor. If you're tired of the same old money advice, this episode serves up a refreshingly honest, and a bit cheeky, perspective on finance. Key Highlights of Our Interview: Zen and the Art of Smart Change: Why You Shouldn't Waste Emotional Energy “Think of change like triage. Some things are worth saving; others, not so much. It's about focusing your energy on the changes that actually count.” The Happiness Equation: Why Money Alone Isn't Enough "Money buys happiness when it's part of a three-part ecosystem—monetary wealth, time wealth, and social joy. Balance the three, and you've got the real happiness equation." Feeling Alone in the Crowd: Why Money Isn't the Only Problem “Inflation, Wall Street, and the financial media don't get it—people feel isolated and misunderstood. It's not just about cash; it's about finding control and direction when everything feels chaotic.” Wall Street's Blind Spot: The Emotional Toll of Inflation “While Wall Street and politicians stay comfortable, most people struggle, feeling alone and powerless. The key isn't just money; it's reclaiming control in a system that's stacked against you.” Connect with us: Host: Vince Chan | Guest: Michael Sakraida Chief Change Officer: Make Change Ambitiously. Maximizing Career Moves: Salary Coach John Gates on Unlocking Your Compensation Potential

John Gates is someone who can help you get the most out of your compensation package, especially when you're making a career switch or transition. When prepping for this interview, I skimmed through his book, ACT YOUR WAGE.  It reminded me of my business school days studying negotiation. The concepts really align—like focusing on multiple elements in a negotiation instead of just zeroing in on one number. But here's the challenge—Unlike business deals where you can stay strategic and detached, salary talks bring up fear, emotion, and anxiety. So, with all the emotion tied up in these discussions, how do we break free from focusing on old numbers and truly maximize our return when making a career move?” Key Highlights of Our Interview: Coast-to-Coast Hustle: The Ups and Downs of Chasing the Corporate Dream “During that process of chasing the Fortune 500 career and climbing that ladder, I moved across the country many times. I was laid off several times. I know how terrifying it is to be laid off or separated from a company that once loved you, but now no longer needs you." From Prosecutor to Defense Attorney: Why Switching Sides Matters “I do view myself as a former prosecutor who became a defense attorney. I think the best defense attorneys are people who used to be prosecutors because they understand the tactics and strategy and what the other prosecutor is trying to achieve.” The Silver Bullet Effect: Practical Steps for Negotiation Success “I start teaching them how to have safe conversations about pay almost immediately. So, very experimentally, I will teach them and drill them and rehearse with them first.” Salary Negotiation 101: Gladiators Need Not Apply! “Know your worth and demand your worth. People say, figure out what you're worth, insist upon that… When I hear that, what I see is high risk. It's confrontational. It makes it seem like you're going to be this gladiator… This sort of ultimatum strategy of ‘take it or leave it' is problematic.” 6 Rules For Successful Salary Negotiation: 1.Do not put “open” or “negotiable” in the salary requirement field — Always put a number. 2.Reframe your salary number into a range during the phone screen — It's important to shift into a range rather than sticking to a fixed number. 3.Shift the conversation from salary to total compensation — This includes understanding incentives and bonuses beyond the base salary. 4.Use AI tools like ChatGPT or LISA to prepare for interviews — This helps generate potential questions and practice responses. 5.Use interview time to sell yourself instead of satisfying curiosity — Focus on addressing their pain points and demonstrating your value. 6.Avoid moving the goalposts during negotiation — Present everything you want in one batch rather than one at a time to prevent putting your offer at risk. Part Two. This episode—and the last—are for the introverts, the ADHDers, those on the autism spectrum, trauma survivors, strategy-brained square pegs, frustrated change-makers, rebelutionaries (that's rebels and revolutionaries combined), and thinker-doers. Why? Because our guest today, Sara Lobkovich, is part of these groups. And she's not holding back anymore. In fact, she's spent months writing two books that bring together her life lessons and business strategy experience to help us all wake up our inner strategist and achieve big goals—no BS. In the last episode, part 1, we looked into who Sara is, what she's been through, and how her past has shaped her purpose today. In this episode, part 2, we'll dig into the book—her why, her audience, her objectives, and her vision. Key Highlights of Our Interview: A Love Letter To Square Pegs Who Don't Fit In "This book is a love letter to me earlier in my career. I know I'm not alone. I know there are so many other people who are having experiences like I did. If I had written this earlier in my life, if I had somehow had the capacity to write this earlier in my life, I would have written a book to people who are strategically wired and feel like they don't fit in a world that's really focused on tactics to people who feel like square pegs in their careers, like we're always a square peg trying to fit into a round hole and just don't fit in." Two Books, One Mission: Simplifying Strategy and Goal Setting “I realized I had two books: one is the No BS OKRs workbook, and the other is about modernized, human-centered strategic planning.” The Moment ‘You Are a Strategist' Became the Book Title I Had to Write “I knew the title had to be ‘You Are a Strategist.' I rewrote the book to deliver on that title.” Empowering Your Inner Strategist: No Matter What Job You Do “You might be a dishwasher, noticing things in the restaurant—there's strategy in everything we do.” Connect with us: Host: Vince Chan | Guest: Sara Lobkovich Chief Change Officer: Make Change Ambitiously. Gallup's “State of the Global Workplace” estimates that low employee engagement costs the global economy a staggering $8.9 trillion. That's 9% of global GDP—basically, the price of fixing our collective mood. So, how do we boost engagement? Greg Morley says it's all about fostering a sense of belonging and inclusion. Greg, one of our early guests in Season One (Episode Ten), has been a long-standing leader in HR and DEI at powerhouses like Moet Hennessy, Disney, and Hasbro. Now, with his debut book “Bond: Belonging and the Keys to Inclusion and Connection,” he shares his battle-tested insights on building engaged, thriving teams and cultures in multicultural organizations. Episode Breakdown: 2:25—From Season One to Season Three: Is Greg Aging Like Fine Wine or Just Getting More Engaging? 5:35—Belonging in the Workplace: Why It's Easier to Find a Unicorn Than Foster Connection These Days "Individuals are more and more isolated because of social media. Social media has this double edged way of impacting people; it makes us much more connected, but much less connected." "Many people don't have safe places outside of work, and it's a responsibility of employers to create a place that's a safe place to work." 13:02—The Domino Effect of Disconnection: How Losing Belonging Hurts Everyone (Even Your Coffee Breaks) 19:07—Greg's Take on DEI: Leading Like a Maestro in the Symphony of Work "It's a matter of appreciating the differences in the workforce. Trying to get the best out of the people so that they feel included." 23:00—Ideas Are Cool, But Leadership Involvement Is Where the Magic Happens 32:50—DEI in the Age of “Woke”: Navigating the Cultural Rollercoaster 36:41—East vs. West in DEI: Same Symphony, Different Instruments "What I found in Asia is, it is a more collective environment with a collective culture. We really do need to start with the stories of people in the organization rather than starting with the KPI that we want to achieve." "If it's Hong Kong culture, or it's Japanese culture, then build out from that versus saying, we're gonna have 50 percent target on gender. And then we cascade that to the whole organization, which is more of a Western way of approaching something." Every day, it seems like you can't escape news of layoffs, corporate downsizing, or restructuring. Today's guest, Benedikt Oehmen, has been directly impacted by it. Benedikt spent 17 years with Blizzard, a market leader in creating epic gaming experiences. In today's workplace, loyalty to employers—or even employers' loyalty to employees—feels like a relic of the past. So, how was that experience for him? For the most part, it was positive and enjoyable. But then, things shifted. Hearts were broken. Hopes were shattered. Now, Benedikt is turning that experience into something powerful. He's built a full-time practice to help others navigate similar challenges of layoffs and downsizing, offering a shift in mindset and sharing the principles from his book, where he lays out his “Big Three” strategies for stepping out of the shadows and moving on—better, faster, and stronger. Episode Breakdown: 2:53—From Physicist to Gamer at Blizzard 5:13—From 17 Years of Loyalty to Facing Layoffs: When Blizzard Prioritized Profit Over People “I started with Blizzard in 2005, and by 2018, after 13 years, the focus had shifted from creating epic experiences for gamers to just making more money.” 13:51—Breaking Free from the Corporate Overlord: Coaching Passionate Geeks on Their Own Terms “Bound to a corporate overlord who tells me what to do and where my priorities are. And all my efforts basically go towards making rich people even richer in a sense." 19:38—From Panic to Possibility: How to Flip Career Transitions into Exciting New Opportunities 24:21—Learning in Disguise: How the “Big Three” Turns Mistakes into Milestones “Being kind to me is all about self-acceptance, embracing the good things in our life and not looking at what we think we are missing.” 29.38—From Five Minutes a Day to a Finished Book: How Tiny Steps Lead to Big Wins 35:47—From Kindness to Saving the World: An Elevator Pitch for a Life-Changing Book (tiny.cc/Big-Three-Goodies) -- "the Art of Meaningful Change" is freely available for download “It's like a tabletop that we built ourselves with different aspects, and we choose how we want to play our game of life on top of that tabletop.” 39:37—Self-Compassion Isn't Selfish: Why You Need to Put On Your Oxygen Mask First “It is in a sense egotistical, but egotistical in service of helping others.” 43:54—Nuggets of Wisdom for Navigating Layoffs: From Setback to Bounce Back “Be aware of that mindset. If you're in the mindset of ‘this is the end of the world,' then that's where your reactions and thoughts will lead you.” Connect with us: Host: Vince Chan | Guest: Benedikt Oehmen Chief Change Officer: Make Change Ambitiously. Yet, so far, I haven't interviewed any guest from right here in Hong Kong. Today, that changes. I'm excited to bring a local guest to the studio—May Yeung, founder of the charity Art of My Family, a teaching artist, a cancer survivor, a mother to a 11-month-old cute boy. May has experienced many life changes over the years, and she's determined to use the power of art, in her own way, to change lives and create an environmentally sustainable, mentally healthy, and socially inclusive society here in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is not just about business, finance, and money. May has chosen a different path to do well and do good. And as a side note: we've got our youngest guest ever—May's 11-month-old son—joining us on the show, so don't go away! Upon returning to Singapore, he sold his inheritance to raise the setup capital for his venture capital firm TRIVE. We explore his journey of transformation in two parts. Last episode focuses on his pursuit of his own identity—his desires, his actions, the why and the how. We'll discuss the legacy he hopes to create for his country and the region; and we'll explore his expectations for his children as a father at age 46. Episode Breakdown: 0:34—Setting the stage and the tone for this and the next episode 2:23—Kicking off with a big question: Is Singapore still relevant after 50 years? Here's an entrepreneurial view "In 2015, when Singapore celebrated its 50th birthday as a nation. Singapore evolved itself out of necessity where it built a whole nation, a workforce of engineers, scientists, bankers, lawyers, doctors, specialists. We started losing a whole generation of entrepreneurs." 7:11—Bridging the Generation Gap: How to Turn ‘Parents' Old Ways' into a Future-Proof Family Business "I actually have a network of over 300 family business owners across Southeast Asia. And there's always this common themes that starts first.  Number one, how do I talk to my parents? How do I have a good working relationship with my parents and a family relationship back at home?  Number two, I don't like the way that my parents are doing things and I need to transform this business. How do I convince my parents that I can transform this business as well?" 11:04—Turning Spare Millions into Family Business Magic: The Synergy Cycle of Tech, Money and Southeast Asian Economy "Everyone gets to have food on the table. What we didn't realize that what this family business did was that it took that technology, have more food, more quantity, and decided to sell it cheaper to a poorer province, where those villagers were now able to obtain more quantity of food for their families." 21:35—Breaking the Patriarchal Mold: How Self-Development Earned Me My Father's Respect "My father has been an Asian patriarch with an iron fist. He asks me as his advisor and no longer sees the son on whom he used to look down." 25:41—Still Figuring It Out: The Never-Ending Saga of Self-Discovery "I still believe that I'm evolving. I'm still learning more in terms of understanding my identity." 28:27—Fatherhood and Fortune: What's the Game Plan for Your Next Generation, Chris? Whether it's cracking the code on real human connections in a digital age or bringing McKinsey-level training to your fingertips, this episode is packed with hard-won wisdom, sharp insights, and a touch of humor that will leave you inspired to level up your own journey. Episode Breakdown: 1:53—Immigrant Experience 101: Learning English and Rediscovering Myself at Age 12 “Moving from South Korea to Canada when I didn't really speak much English at age 12 forced me to discover myself again.” “The thread through all my experiences has been people development, capability building, and talent development.” 3:50—Learning by Doing: The Best Way to Discover What You Really Want. Why Theorizing Only Gets You So Far. “I've often found that you can only really discover and learn your true preferences by gaining first-hand experience. Theorizing only gets you so far.” “I applied a principle from my engineering background: when you're trying to optimize a function under uncertainty, you double down on the areas where you have no data points.” “Growing up, I would have characterized my young self as a people pleaser, getting a lot of validation and enjoyment from things that others tell about me.” 13:14—Bringing McKinsey's Gold Standard to Everyone: The Spark Behind Creating an EdTech for Live Group Learning “At McKinsey, people fought to get onto training programs. It was interactive, engaging, and team-based. I thought that's what corporate training looked like everywhere—until I saw the difference in other organizations.” “McKinsey's approach to training, especially in live group formats, set a high bar for what great learning experiences should be. It made me realize how crucial it is to invest in people's development.” 17:09—From TV Host to Startup Boss: The Founder-Market Fit of Live Group Learning “Throughout my life, I've just been involved in a lot of things that involve live groups. I used to be on TV in Korea, hosting live shows and facilitating conversations.” 18:55—Differentiation Value to Create: Scaling the Unscalable "Only the very privileged or high-budget institutions of the world are able to offer learners the truly great learning experiences grounded in adult learning pedagogy." "What we're doing is we're taking that experience that today can only be accessed by really privileged settings and making it much more accessible to many more people through technology." 23:04—Rebuilding Stronger Community: Foster Real Connections Beyond Social Media's Shallow Bonds “We create an environment where people solve problems together that are realistic but fictitious, which helps them engage deeply without having to be vulnerable from the get-go.” 27:24—Partners in Crime: Those Who Crave Rich Interactions or Scale Quality Learning at a Bargain “The level and richness of interactions that are available virtually through Sparkwise is much stronger than if they were to cobble together other tools like Zoom and a whiteboarding tool.” “When you need to deliver learning to thousands or tens of thousands of learners, our solution allows them to scale their business in a streamlined way without needing an army of facilitators.” 30:24—Turning Idle Content into Action: Beating AI with Human-to-Human Engagement for Deeper Learning “There's a lot of idle content out there today, and simply reading is rarely the best way for people to actually understand those concepts.” “What we see is we're providing an alternative, a new way for people to engage with information and content that is human to human, that AI can't simply come and displace.” Connect with us: Host: Vince Chan Guest: Vince Jeong Chief Change Officer: Listen Ambitiously.
