What if parenting isn't here to define you—but to grow you?In this powerful and deeply personal episode, I share how parenting cracked me open and led me to a spiritual path I never expected. From the outside, I looked like I had it all together. But inside, I was silently cutting myself down—until my daughter's struggle became the mirror that showed me what I could no longer ignore.Together, we explore how our children's behavior reflects our inner world, why parenting is one of the most potent portals to healing, and how releasing control opens the door to deep connection. This episode is for every parent who's ever felt like they're failing—and for those who are ready to turn inward and walk this sacred path with more compassion and clarity. In this episode, you'll hear:*How my daughter's self-harm mirrored the way I was harming myself emotionally*Why our children are not here to complete us—they're here to walk with us*How parenting challenges reveal the parts of us asking to be seen and healed*The shift from defining yourself through your child to growing alongside them*A gentle practice to help you turn everyday parenting struggles into invitations for self-reflection and transformationIf this episode speaks to you, please share it with a friend, leave a review, or tag me on Instagram—I'd love to know what part landed in your heart.Reinvention group program—a guided space to reduce stress, reconnect with yourself, and rewire thepatterns that keep you stuck in survival mode. If you're craving a safe, supportive container to do this work, I'd love to have you. Starts April 7 (not April 1). Check out more info here:https://www.dianesorensen.net/reinvention-group
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to lose your voice without even realizing it?In today's episode, we're exploring what it means to reclaim your voice—not just the one others hear, but the one inside you that holds your truth, your needs, your no, your yes, your boundaries, and your soul.If you've ever quieted yourself to keep the peace… if you've been praised for being easy going, flexible, or accommodating while something in you felt unseen… this conversation is for you.I share personal stories and experiences from both my own journey and the women I work with—because reclaiming your voice is also deeply connected to healing, regulation, and identity. It's not about speaking louder—it's aboutgetting honest. We talk about:* The subtle (and not so subtle) ways we silence ourselves* Why your nervous system plays a central role in finding your voice again* How voice reclamation is connected to burn-out, people pleasing, and over-functioning* What it actually looks like to speak your truth (even when your voice is shaking)* Why parenting has been one of the most powerful mirrors for my own voice work And most of all, I remind you:You're not too much. You're not behind. You're remembering who you are. ✨

Etuk Ubong is without a doubt one of the most electrifying trumpet players in Africa.Seun Kuti himself called him ‘one of the best things to come out of Lagos,' and it's easy to see why. Etuk picked up the trumpet at 14 and hasn't looked back since. What sets him apart is his fusion of Afrobeat, Highlife, Jazz, and the traditional drumming of the Ekombi, creating his signature sound, 'Earth Music.' It's a captivating mix of spiritual, high-energy, and deeply moving rhythms.I had the chance to sit down with Etuk before his set at the Dürchluften Festival 2024 and our conversation was nothing short of inspiring. We dove into his musical influences, deep connection to Fela Kuti, jazz studies at the University of Cape Town, and how he crafted his unique genre: Earth Music. We also touched on the importance of documenting your journey online, and Etuk had some incredible insights to share on that. Chatting with him was a spiritual experience, and I hope you'll feel the same listening to the episode.

Henrik Zeberg thinks $10,000 may be too conservative of a price target for gold up ahead, with the caveat that we'll see a lot of pain before we get there, both in commodities and the broad market. Henrik sees a deflationary bust on the horizon that will wipe out most asset categories, before stagflation takes hold, the Fed intervenes, and commodities skyrocket to previously unimaginable levels. This week, host Sara J is again joined by Dylan Gleit, guitarist for CO. based six-piece Eminence Ensemble. In part two with Dylan, our chat picks up with him sharing some of the greatest pieces of advice he's ever gotten personally and professionally. We also talk about how having the courage to take the leap back in 2020, and drive across the country to join Eminence Ensemble (hear that full story in part one) helped put him on the path toward a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, playing with Scott Page (saxophone player for Pink Floyd, Toto, and Supertramp) at Burning Man during the full moon, playing the Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety to celebrate the album's 50th anniversary. Yes, the story is as epic as I'm laying it out to be, wait until you hear Dylan tell it!We of course chat about UM, how he found the band, Summer School 2013, being the second youngest person there, and jamming with the band. Dylan shares what UM original and cover he would like to play if he had the opportunity to sit in with the guys, the compliments he received from fans when he played a gig with UM keyboardist Joel Cummins, and we reminisce about the Eminence Ensemble official Umphrey's McGee after party in Vail, CO in 2022, with Kris Myers sitting in. Dylan shares how the band inspires him personally and professionally, he answers some fun rapid-fire questions including what he's listening to currently and so much more!Eminence Ensemble's newest release “Inside Looking Out” is now available on Bandcamp, Spotify, and Apple Music. What is Perinatal Depression? It's depression that occurs in women during pregnancy through the first twelve months of the postpartum period and it affects 1 in 7 women. Mallory Haney is a cognitive behavioral therapist focused on perinatal anxiety and depression. She joins the mom group chat this week to share her expertise. Their conversation ranges from how to differentiate depression from the “baby blues”, what symptoms look like, and the stigma that still surrounds perinatal depression and how that makes it so isolating. They also cover how to find help and support, and what treatment can look like.Even though this is a heavier topic for the pod, this episode feels like a warm hug. At the time of recording, Shannon, Whitney, and Candace were all pregnant, so you better believe they were all ears and eager to learn from Mallory. The conversation gets very raw and personal in a way we hope resonates with others who may be experiencing hard times in the pregnancy or postpartum period.
