And I actually used that with a lot of my players found that to be extremely useful. And then I found the 90 mile an hour club, and everyone's probably thinking, What does this have to do with general fitness and everything, mainly because I mean Paul, you can probably talk about this a little bit more in baseball core strength, shoulder health, everything kind of aligns toe every other sport. So you want to talk about shoulder health and baseball, and I would say how that would translate to other sports.welcome to this episode of the project, and in this episode I get to talk to Paul Red. Paul shard an example of a client who struggled with his desire to start nutrition coaching but didnt know where to start, so Paul advised him to send out one email for people to meet at starbucks and coach whoever shows up. How to make "cuts" and eliminator those around you who are negative forces in your life: Realize that whatever they say to bring you down is more about them than you. If you can' eliminate exposure to negative people around you e.g family/co workers, then set boundaries. For example, for a set period of time you have to be around them, accept that you're going to deal with them and what they might say. How to start each day:

In this podcast, We tackled this pressing issue of early travel baseball. How to spot the coaches that are just out to use your kid to win games and how to avoid them. What no major leaguer ever said about travel baseball success, this alone will shift your perspective on how much your son should play. Why Dads have more control, then they are led to believe they have. In the 83rd episode of Keep Moving Forward I interview founder of Reddick Baseball and former player, Paul Reddick.   “Never get so big that you forget what it was like to wish that phone would ring.” Paul Reddick believed he blew every opportunity he ever had to make it as a baseball player, until he realized he was never meant to leave his mark on the game as a player...but as a coach. With relentless determination, Paul found himself immersed in the world of baseball, walking through every open door until he ended up exactly where he was always meant to be. As the founder of Paul Reddick Baseball and the host of the Baseball Dads podcast, Paul is helping individuals within the sport he never even knew he could reach...but that is the amazing thing about pursuing what you feel called to do above all else.   I was lucky enough to meet Paul at this year’s Momentum Workshop Weekend, hosted by Lou Mongello in Orlando, Florida, and I am so grateful for this experience and the chance to forge some incredible relationships in the pursuit of always moving forward. Thanks to Paul for allowing me to help share his story, and I hope you all enjoy my interview with athlete turned entrepreneur, Paul Reddick.   Thank you all for listening, I hope you enjoyed this episode. I first heard Paul on a non-baseball related podcast. I was impressed with what he was saying from a motivational standpoint, and the tactics he used to create this motivation; both in business and for those that he mentored in baseball. I liked Paul's intensity, and his passion--and I think I like him even more now after this interview. Paul had already been making baseball performance products when I was first dipping my toes into the info. product market (I was doing lots of research myself for my Arm Care/Recovery program). His programs didn't seem flashy or all too hard to understand...much different from every thing else I was reading. And after talking to him recently, he wants his programs to be simple to understand, and simple to use. Duh, right!? What I liked all those years ago, when I bought one of his programs for my research, was his "Queen Bee" theory. Basically, if you want to fix a problem, you have to need to tackle it from the root. If you want to change the mechanics of a baseball pitcher you, you change how he/she gets into that faulty position to begin with. If you want to move the beehive that's above your front door, you don't kill or swat the worker bees, you need to get to the Queen bee. Paul is the real deal. He's a self taught coach (for the past 20+ years), un-biased by the very system that he's trying to change-- one player, one dad, and one coach at a time. Paul cares deeply about the well being of the baseball player and is a master when it comes down to uncovering motivation behind WHY and HOW the baseball player performs the way they do. He uncovers this with a system he calls the 5-6-7 Pitcher. In this episode we get into: The 567 Pitcher....and learn arguably the most important sticking points in your relationship with your son/daughter/players, that once resolved offers limitless performance benefits (for both of you!) Why the 1st sign of injury is loss of pitch command. Why you don't really understand pitch counts, and why they don't make sense for everyone...er...anyone! Why a whole team approach (players, coaches AND parents) is needed to keep the pitcher healthy. If you know how to properly lift weights, you should know when to pull-the-plug on your pitchers to save their arm. and much, much more!

The Four Mountains to Scale for a Successful Fitness Business. The latest guests on my podcast know exactly what it takes to build a successful gym. The name of their business should let you know just how serious they are: Million Dollar Gym. Vince Gabriele and Paul Reddick are business partners, but they couldn’t be more different from one another. Their two-pronged attack on most problems has led to some interesting insights into how a gym business should be run and what to expect during the life cycle of the business. They shared the four mountains that a successful fitness business owner should expect to climb. Let’s see if they ring true for you.   Survival   The name of the game is survival, am I right?  So the first, and most important, mountain to climb is survival. You can’t get to the other ones without conquering this one. This is basically your startup mode, the mentality that every entrepreneur faces when they kick things off.  I don’t care if you’re putting together a super fancy gym or simply your own sessions on the beach. The mentality remains the same. You’re just trying to survive and because you’re at the beginning with limited resources and know-how, you’re doing everything all by yourself. This is you going full-tilt, non-stop, make it or break it probably around the clock.  During this period, you’re doing everything so you’ll feel overwhelmed. This is normal and it quickly becomes a test of how badly do you want it. The good news is that it doesn’t last forever. The bad news is that it lasts up to the first three years of the business. Push through this important part and good things await.   Stability   You get a breath a little easier at this point but only if you do it right. Mismanage this part and you’re right back to survival. The key in this part is to delegate responsibilities to the right people. That begins with hiring and continues through to leadership. Here is where you design the right systems for the longevity of your business. There’s long-term strategizing, marketing, and a whole host of other things that require your attention. You can’t be expected to change the toilet paper five years in. I know studio owners, who still do this to save on expenses- when in fact that’s what’s bankrupting them, But that doesn’t mean that you should just delegate the work in your business to anybody.  Hire the right people and learn how to lead.  That team growth should be your focus on this particular mountain.  This is the heart and soul of your entrepreneurial life to live it!   Success   Your baby is off and running!  This is the biggest mountain because it’s the one that most people can’t achieve.   You’ve got the systems in place that keep you running efficiently and smoothly.  You’ve got the right managers in place that handle every catastrophe that comes your way.  Your marketing is tight and conveys exactly the messaging that you want. With such a tremendous emotional payoff, what’s keeping fit pros from getting to the success mountain?  Well for one thing, most fit pros don’t understand what it takes to get to this point. It’s all about systems. That’s so key, it’s worth mentioning again. It’s all about systems.   Significance   Building a business is great in itself, but building something that can sustain itself without your involvement is an achievement that few people experience. When this happens, your business takes on a greater significance. You are free to explore new worlds or start new businesses. You’re able to create more things that carry the same energy, message, and ethos of what you’ve created. Being here is proof that what you’ve done is truly special. These aren’t small mountains. They require your dedicated attention and endless energy. Many people don’t experience all of them, but know that you know they’re there, they are easier to climb.  My thanks for Vince and Paul for stopping by and sharing their insights. Check out the whole podcast for more info and subscribe so that you don’t miss any future guests!
