The final five roll the dice on the chance to join Drag Race LIVE! in Vegas, but first they need to do a pseudo TicTac lunch with Latrice and film a kiosk promo for an act we know nothing about and never see. We do get a Ru directed photo shoot, but it also feels 14 weeks late. Then it's coats and a cloche on the runway and two different Rosses on the panel. Jewels shines, Onya's nerve and Lexi's heart take them both to the finale, Sam is almost country fried and it's an 11th hour boot of ye old Susan Marie Toot. This is the FULL event RECAP for the sixth and final event of the 2025 Freeride World Tour season; The 30th anniversary of the YETI Xtreme Verbier by Honda. We saw some spectacular performances as well as some heartbreaking moments on the way to crowning 3 new World Champions as well as 4 first time winners in Verbier. The Legendary Bec des Rosses presented an extra challenge in the way of a very thin and dangerous snowpack which is something the athletes have been familiar with this year. It wasn't safe to drop in from the top this year so the riders had to choose from 3 separate start gates on the Bec and Petit Bec. 00:00 - Intro / Surefoot 13:23 - SNOWBOARD MEN 24:45 - SKI MEN 47:54 - SKI WOMEN 1:03:17 - BACKSLAP | Fan Emails ** 1:14:00 - SNOWBOARD WOMEN Watch This Episode on YouTube: https://youtu.be/YJ_Bw-_DZso ** Lily Bradley LPP Interview - https://open.spotify.com/episode/1lDG1CFKsJLTI7zPQolfmk?si=404499794e3e4296 ---- WE HAVE MERCH!! Welcome back to The Literary Life podcast and our series on J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter: Book 1. After sharing some thoughts on detective fiction as it relates to Rowling, our hosts Angelina Stanford and Thomas Banks discuss chapters 8-12. Some of the ideas they share are the following: Homeric echos and classical allusions in this book, the identity quest, the significance of characters' names, the four houses and the bestiary, the three parts of the soul, the Christian influence on Rowling's stories. Angelina also seeks to teach something about symbolism and structure of literature and art as seen through the Harry Potter books. They found all that plus a quintessential “Main Street” in Boerne, Texas, a town located about 30 minutes north of San Antonio in Texas hill country. Liz Johnson defies my "romance isn't really my thing" assertion, and Summer in the Spotlight promises to continue the tradition. But Summer in the Spotlight has more going for it than just a great story with all the feels. It's also the end of the series. It's a series I actually don't want to end but... I'm excited. Listen in to see why. note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. Why Am I Excited to See This Wonderful Romance Series End? The answer is simple. Because it kind of isn't ending. While we were chatting, we got a hint of what's coming after Summer in the Spotlight, and Liz isn't leaving PEI or her characters. We're going to head back over to The Red Door Inn and all our friends there. And all after a satisfying ending to the wonderful Ross brothers' series. Look, I'd just as soon have a bunch more Rosses show up and continue with this series, but since we got a peek at what's coming up, and since Liz admitted that she has more plans for more Prince Edward Island, well... I'm excited to see it end so we can get those things. And then if she wants to bring it back, I'll be even more excited. Okay, so basically, if Liz writes it, I'm excited to read it. Sometimes someone's work just resonates with you. Liz Johnson is one of those people for me. We had a lovely chat about Proverbs, speaking life into people, and how our immersion in the Word comes out in our writing and in our reading. Basically, it was a wonderful chat and, I found out that she's got a group trip planned for next year. Prince Edward Island here I come! Squeeeeeeee! Summer in the Spotlight by Liz Johnson A hurricane may have destroyed her livelihood on Prince Edward Island, but she's determined to save her community. Kelsey Ahern has performed at the Victoria Playhouse on Prince Edward Island every summer since she was seven. But when a hurricane destroys the building, it's not just her memories that are in jeopardy. Her future as a teacher and drama coach are too. She teams up with Levi Ross, the facilities director at the high school, to produce a benefit show to raise money to rebuild the theater. He has a reputation for being able to fix anything, and Kelsey is sure there's more to the quiet man than meets the eye. For his part, Levi has admired Kelsey for years, but he can't seem to find the words to tell her. When a popular weatherman arrives in town to cover the aftermath of the hurricane and takes an interest in Kelsey and her show, Levi realizes that the time has come to speak up--or lose the heart of the woman he longs for. Join New York Times bestselling author Liz Johnson for a season of rebuilding, restoration, and romance with this final book in the Prince Edward Island Shores series. Renown Skiier Richard Amacker joins Aaron Guyett for todays LivingFit Show! A competitor at heart, he devoted himself to alpine skiing for sixteen years, including five years on the FIS circuit. At the age of 19, after obtaining a CFC from Plâtrier-Peintre, Richard closed the chapter of alpine to start another - Freeride. Since 2008, he has distinguished himself in the field thanks to very good results and victories on the Freeride Qualifier Tour, the European Cup, as well as an extraordinary first place on the World Tour, then another podium after his return from injury and a legendary line opening at the famous Bec des Rosses in Verbier. At the same time, Richard takes part in numerous promotional films for internationally renowned brands. He also brilliantly obtained his federal snow sports teacher certificate and continued his training until he became an Expert Swiss Snow Sport after brilliant exams. Today, Richard has only one goal, to pass on everything he has learned through his experiences and his training, to share the difficult moments of his career, as much as the moments of glory, pride and joy. He also intends to transfer his values in all safety matters, with the seriousness and the pleasure that characterizes him - the enthusiast.

Rosses Point GPS Location: 54.304105, -8.561783 Yeats loved Rosses Point and first experimented with the paranormal here, encouraged by his cousin's housekeeper who had the ˜second sight'. Today excellent restaurants and pubs meet all your needs, even if they can't predict your future! Yeats stayed at Elsinore House when he was in Rosses Point. It is now a ruin and is just below the statue in the picture above on the way to the pier. There's talk every few years of doing up the derelict site, but as you'll see, nothing has happened! DIRECTIONS: After Rosses Point, make your way back to Sligo Town. In town, we have listed the key Yeats sites you may wish to visit.
Location: Yeat's Grave, Drumcliffe Yeats's grave is marked in front of you with Ben Bulben visible through the cemetery trees. If the church is open, ensure you pay it a visit. If the excellent booklet by Derick Bingham entitled 'The Eye of the Heart' is still in print, it's well worth a read. The resting place of Ireland's greatest poet, William Butler Yeats, is as near perfect a location as you'd expect for such an evocative wordsmith. In the final two stanzas of Under Ben Bulben, Yeats declared: - Irish poets, learn your trade, Sing whatever is well made, Scorn the sort now growing up All out of shape from toe to top, Their unremembering hearts and heads Base-born products of base beds. Sing the peasantry, and then Hard-riding country gentlemen, The holiness of monks, and after Porter-drinkers' randy laughter; Sing the lords and ladies gay That were beaten into clay Through seven heroic centuries; Cast your mind on other days That we in coming days may be Still the indomitable Irishry. Under bare Ben Bulben's head In Drumcliff churchyard Yeats is laid. An ancestor was rector there Long years ago, a church stands near, By the road an ancient cross. No marble, no conventional phrase; On limestone quarried near the spot By his command these words are cut: Cast a cold eye On life, on death. Horseman, pass by! DIRECTIONS: We'll be turning left on to the N15 coming out of the car park and heading towards Rosses' Point via Rathcormack village.
Warped Episode 208 The Nth DegreeIt's the return of Lt. Barclay, so everyone is pretty hyped. Who would have thought a room full of Rosses would relate to Barclay. You are listening to Warped so you know we tackle the important questions of the day. Questions like: What do you call the area between the chin and the boobs? Is Dwight Schultz the greatest actor form the A-Team? and What the heck is the James Webb telescope? All this plus several pieces of our most popular bit: Corrections Corner!!!!!! Max is the Chairperson of Sligo Pride Festival 2021OutWest Sligo CoordinatorBoard member of Ireland Pride NetworkFacilitator of Trans NorthwestFormer chair of IT Sligos LGBT+ societyCurrent day job: BEx intern with Abbott Diagnostics, FinisklinHere is some more information Max sent us before the show. My name is Maxton (Max) Ó Floinn, I'm 22 years old, my pronouns are he/they and I am a transgender man.I have completed my level 7 course in Biomedical Science in IT Sligo, I'm currently on a 15 month internship with Abbott Diagnostics and I plan to go back to college in September 2022.I have a habit of getting involved in things like Sligo Pride which is taking place this August from the 2nd-8th. This current version of Sligo Pride is only in it's second/third year after debuting in August 2019 with a lot of help from Dublin Pride and the Outing Festival. Previous to that there was SAGA Pride in 2016 and Pride Northwest several years before, so Sligo Pride is still quite young. Are you a Sligo Native? If no what is the story of how you moved here?:I grew up in County Leitrim, so not a million miles away. I moved to Sligo for my 3rd level education with IT SligoWhat do you love about living in Sligo?: I love being able to walk to the shops! Something that wasn't really an option in rural Leitrim. I've very recently got my first car so I can just drive out to Strandhill for a walk, or Rosses point to watch the sunset or go out any other amazing walksIf you could wave a magic wand what would you fix or bring to Sligo ie. facilities, shops, restaurants, culture/arts?: I think the first obvious answer to that is a LGBTQ+ bar. There's also a lot of run down looking buildings that would be great to see done up into more housing or new businesses. An idea suggested by a friend of mine would be for the old Savoy Cinema to be done up and converted into something like a bowling alley and/or games arcadeWhat are you looking forward to in the future in your personal and professional life?: II suppose I'm looking forward to figuring out what I'd like to do with my life, I have the next 2 years of my life planned with my internship and then going back to college. In my personal life I'm looking forward to eventually living with my girlfriend of 5 years as we're long distance between Sligo and Galway just with college and work. Can't wait to adopt several dogs as well. What are your must do Sligo recommendations? Restaurants/Walks etc.: Penny cafe is fab, they've only just reopened. They have Elderflower Fizzies which seemed very popular at the OutWest Sligo meet up on the 19th of June. Blind Tiger hot chocolate is probably the best in town but the Rover Lab white chocolate mocha is phenomenal.I love Doorley park and watching the sunset at Rosses PointCheck out https://sligopride.com/ for updates on all the upcoming events and how to get involved.

Who tells us about his many escapades over the years. Finally, Vincent Bonner takes us from the Rally of the Rosses, through his fantastic win with Seamus McGettigan in 1983. Seamus and Vincent are now joint Club Presidents of the Donegal Motor Club.
In the final episode of the series, Cathal Mullaney looks back on Drumcliffe Rosses Point's Sligo men's intermediate football championship success - in the company of team captain Brian Óg Murphy (pictured), Brian Holland and then manager Liam Gilmartin.

Ben Harkin hails from Termon, near Letterkenny and last year he released a powerful book entitled 'Time Nor Tide'. A book focusing on the huge issue of climate change. His book focuses on Ireland specifically and along with detailing the changes we will see in years to come, he outlines the solutions to limit the effects of climate change for future generations. Ben felt an urgency to address this matter as even today in Ireland and in recent years we are experiencing the effects of global warming, such as storms becoming more frequent. Ben adds a great personal side to his book as well, he has a great love of poetry and he quotes the late great poet Seamus Heaney multiples times. Ben also has links to Termon Maghery and he speaks fondly of how visiting the Rosses helped educate him on climate change. I hope you enjoy the interview! Support the show

Dungloe rejoiced in 2018 when local girl Caroline O'Donnell was announced as winner of the 51st Mary From Dungloe International Arts Festival. Caroline was a popular choice among many for the crown, not just with folk in the Rosses. Her beauty mixed with her personality can only make her likeable to anyone who encounters her. I sat down with Caroline on Wednesday last in the Bridge Inn Bar and we had a great chat. We talked about her recent trip to electric picnic and touched on many other topics including her visit to China several years ago. I also sprung a little mini challenge her way in the form of who wants to be a millionaire! To listen to 5 song favourites of Caroline's that she chose for this podcast, you can hear them along with this interview by visiting the below link. When most people think of Irish country music they think of Daniel O'Donnell. Since the early 80's to now its incredible the level of success he has had consistently. Album after album, concert after concert, people long for more. I'm proud of the fact Daniel hails from the Rosses . Himself and his wife Majella who I've also featured on this podcast are a huge credit to Donegal as a county in the work they do in raising money for charity, and having helped massively in attracting so many tourists to Donegal and the Rosses over the years which of course is a very positive thing for any location. The amount of joy Daniel in particular has given to hundreds of thousands of people across the globe can only be admired really. I caught up with Daniel yesterday to see how he was coping with the current lockdown and we touched on many different topics. To listen to 5 songs of Daniel's that he chose as songs that mean something special to him, you can hear them along with this interview by visiting the below link.

SANDCAST: Beach Volleyball with Tri Bourne and Travis Mewhirter
Alas, we get our first look. It was supposed to come this past week, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., site of the late Fort Lauderdale Major. But with the plug pulled on the season-opening Major of the beach volleyball season, we were forced to wait. For some, that wait ends this weekend, as four U.S. women’s teams, all new partnerships, will make the trip to Phnom Penh, Cambodia for a two-star FIVB. Typically, no, two-stars would not garner much attention, but the four pairs heading overseas are four of the more intriguing partnerships on the women’s side. While the men’s scene was turned upside down and shaken sideways, with all but two of the top teams breaking up, the women’s was relatively quiet. Nearly all of the top teams remained together, while the mid-tier partnerships, the ones seeking breakthroughs, sought new partners to make that jump. Four of those – Amanda Dowdy and Corinne Quiggle, Jessica Gaffney and Molly Turner, Brittany Hochevar and Carly Wopat, Caitlin Ledoux and Geena Urango – will be competing in Cambodia. It made for a unique episode of SANDCAST: Beach Volleyball with Tri Bourne and Travis Mewhirter, one in which the hosts break down what individuals and teams are primed to make the biggest strides this year. Now, we left out the blue chips that are unquestionable, the Dalhaussers and Rosses, Klinemans and Hughes, because they’re already blue chips. Our focus was on the players and teams to make the biggest moves. Here are the five best female and male beach volleyball stocks, either as individuals or team, to buy this year: Men Chase Budinger: It seems incredibly unappreciated, what Budinger was able to accomplish last season, his first on the AVP Tour. Not only was it his rookie year as a professional, it was the first time he had picked up a volleyball in a legitimately competitive arena since high school, and even then, it was indoor. And in just one season, Budinger was able to make a final? Beat Evandro? Win Rookie of the Year? With a full season under his belt, Budinger should be one of the biggest risers this year. Tri Bourne, Trevor Crabb: Every time Bourne won a match last season – and he won many, including one over Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena and two over the Spanish, whom he had never beat – a large part of me wanted to remind people how absurd it was that he was winning. For a year and a half, he basically couldn’t sweat. And now he was beating the best team in the U.S. and another he had never beat with John Hyden playing defense? Bourne and Crabb were an excellent team even before either had learned how to play defense. Now that they’ve had Jose Loiola coaching them for an entire off-season, and Bourne is healthy enough to, you know, sweat, who knows how high they can climb this season. Troy Field: The comparison I like to make with Troy, relative to the stock market, is Tesla. Here’s Tesla, a product of, honestly, genius. It has incredible upside, a potentially limitless ceiling. Sometimes it’s brilliant, and looks as if it could very well revolutionize the industry. Others, it busts. Anybody who has seen Field play has seen him make plays you simply can’t teach. It’s a rare type of athleticism that is going to win points, matches, attract partnerships (and sponsors). And then sometimes that athleticism gets a tad out of control, a bit like Elon Musk at Tesla, and he takes a few steps back. But he’s new to the game, and with two years of high level beach under his belt, a number of those odd mistakes should be smoothed out, and the ascent he’ll make this year will be quick. Eric Zaun, Jeremy Casebeer: This is without a doubt the most interesting beach volleyball team in the United States, mostly because any team with Eric Zaun on it will be interesting, but what a dynamic. Here we have two bombers from the service line, who swing upwards of 80 percent of the time, who are a bit combustible in both good ways and bad. This is a team that could just as likely dump two straight matches and take 13th as win an entire tournament. Currently, they’re training in Brazil, against the best in the world, getting team-focused reps. I wouldn’t voluntarily bet against them. Andrew Dentler, DR Vander Meer: It’s hard for me to lump these two together as a team, because qualifier teams are not exactly known for their longevity. But from what they’ve shown so far, this is going to be an excellent team. They’ve played in three AVP Nexts, winning one, placing second in another and fifth (I don’t know what happened there) in the next. Plus, Dentler, who was the unofficial adult of the year in 2018 – he got married, had a kid, finished his masters, bought a house – should have a little less on his plate to focus on volleyball. Others to watch Ben Vaught Eric Beranek Kacey Losik Miles Partain Logan Webber Tim Brewster John Schwengel Ian Satterfield Women Brittany Howard, Kelly Reeves Last year was really only the second year in which Howard’s focus was solely beach volleyball. She competed for Pepperdine in her grad year, and then she came out and won Rookie of the Year in 2018 on the AVP Tour. The vast majority of rookies in any sport come with no small measure of volatility, but Howard and Reeves were models of consistency, finishing in the top 10 in every AVP, including a third in San Francisco, while picking up a pair of bronze NORCECA medals and competing in four FIVBs. Year two should be another step up. Geena Urango, Caitlin Ledoux When Urango made her SANDCAST debut, in December of 2017, she said that playing international volleyball wasn’t really a priority of hers. She loves to travel, just not to play volleyball. She enjoys actually enjoying the places she visits without the burden of competition. Now, however, with Ledoux, it seems she’s reprioritizing, if just a bit. They went to Chetumal, Mexico for a three-star in October and made the finals. In the three prior tournaments they had played together, they made the finals (in San Francisco) and the semifinals (in Hermosa Beach) and claimed seventh at p1440 San Jose. Carly Wopat Wopat has known success at every level of beach volleyball – state champ in high school, All-American in college, National Team level afterwards. Now she’s on the beach, already scooped up by one of the most consistent defenders in the game in Brittany Hochevar. With her focus entirely on the sand, Wopat should be expected to make big moves in 2019. Kerri Walsh Jennings, Brooke Sweat Remember when it was December of 2017, and Tiger Woods was the 1,199th ranked golfer in the world? And by August of 2018 he was back in the top 25? That’s a little bit of what 2019 could be for Walsh Jennings and Sweat. Not that Walsh Jennings could have ever fallen that far in the sport, but it’s still a parallel of one of the greats in the game being sidelined for a bit and now making one final push. At no point would it be wise to count out Walsh Jennings, especially since she’s playing with perhaps one of the more underrated players of this generation in Sweat, who has won with essentially everyone she’s played with. Kelly Claes, Sarah Sponcil Classic case of the rivals turned teammates, who put on a delightful run through The Hague, winning a silver medal, which will pair nicely with a bronze from their debut tournament in Qinzhou, China, in October. This is a team that could very well supplant the top teams in the U.S. in spite of the fact that Sponcil is still competing for UCLA. Others to watch Corinne Quiggle, Amanda Dowdy Delaney Knudsen, Jessica Sykora Molly Turner, Jessica Gaffney Allie Wheeler Nicolette Martin Falyn Fanoimoana Emily Hartong, Alexa Strange
