Subscribe today for access to our full catalog of bonus episodes, including 2+ new episodes every month! www.patreon.com/boysbiblestudy Intermission is over! We return back to the 7TH STREET THEATER to watch our favorite stories about the fictional lives of Christian stage actors. This meta-media soap opera by Dave Christiano has always been one of the biggest examples of Christian fantasy to us, because it imagines a world where a Christian theater would be popular and high-earning enough to keep drawing in crowds week after week. We did an episode on 7TH STREET THEATER a few years ago where we covered more of the background about this show. We've basically forgotten all of our research since then, so we decided instead to focus on a four episode storyline called “THE LETTER”. In this arc, Christian stage actress Andi gets an admiring fan letter from a man who says he sees her show every week and has been praying to God for a Christian woman to enter his life. Andi has never seen this man, but his letters fill her with a mixture of excitement and confusion, especially when he says he is “attracted to her in every way.” Andi's coworkers at the theater seem unreasonably excited for her and practically beg her to meet the guy, but Andi has doubt and decides to pray to God about it, resulting in a confusing plot-line about prayer as magical thinking. The admirer asks Andi to send a signal to him from the stage, but Andi's signal is thwarted unknowingly by her cast members, blocking the meeting. Is this really a sign from God, or is it the beginning stages of mental illness? Almost every aspect of this scenario, from Andi's reaction, to her coworkers' reactions, to the insane letters themselves, seems wildly off base for how someone in real life would handle this situation. It's a pretty bizarre plot from a show that usually tries to be as tediously realistic as possible. That's why there's no better introduction to prolific Christian creator Dave Christiano's mind than THE LETTER. What if your passion could transform you from a hesitant newcomer to a shining star? Join us on this exciting premiere episode of "Steps to the Stage-Drama Department," where we spotlight the incredible journey of Giorgio Haddad, a 17-year-old actor who embarked on his theatrical path thanks to his mother's encouragement. Giorgio opens up about his initial doubts about becoming a "theater kid" and shares the thrilling experience of his first audition that led to his debut role in "The Plot, Like Gravy, Thickens." Through his story, we celebrate the vibrant drama departments in local schools and the importance of nurturing young talent.Ever wondered how community theater differs from high school productions? Giorgio gives us an insider's look into both worlds. After wrapping up his junior year, Giorgio took a leap into the community theater scene, landing multiple roles in "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief: The Musical." He reveals the supportive, family-like atmosphere at the 7th Street Theater, contrasting it with the sometimes more stressful environment of high school theater. Giorgio's experiences highlight the unique dynamics and the sense of belonging that community theater can offer, even under pressure. But that's not all—proper theater etiquette and professionalism are crucial for aspiring actors. Giorgio and I discuss the journey of learning these principles, from high school drama departments to community theater and beyond. We touch on the impact of popular productions like Hamilton and Wicked in bringing theater to the mainstream, and how this podcast aims to spotlight the remarkable work of drama departments in the Inland Empire. Giorgio's journey from high school plays to community productions, coupled with his ambitions in film, serves as a testament to the continuous growth and learning in the world of acting. Tune in to hear more about Giorgio's inspiring story and the thriving theater communities that foster young talent.Find STTS:Steps To The Stage (@stepstothestage) | InstagramFacebookSteps To The Stage (buzzsprout.com)Steps To The Stage - YouTubePlease follow on your favorite podcast platform and we appreciate 5 Star ratings and positive reviews!
In Ezekiel 4, Ezekiel symbolizes the siege of Jerusalem. Want to be a prophet of God? Are you an actor?
The beautifully crafted Abbeville Opera House in the Upstate has been the home for many shows and performances since its opening in 1908. But according to many witnesses, some its ghosts seem to stick around for one final performance. Also, in a world full of true crime content, we all seem to know at least a little bit of trivia when it comes to serial killers. One of these killers seems to fly under the radar for the most part, but Junior Pierce was nothing short of a monster. And later, we've got a double-dose of haunted theaters in this episode. The Dock Street theater in Charleston has also had its fair share of tragedy since its opening and plenty of ghosts to go along with it. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/scspookshow/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/scspookshow/support

Well… Twitter rolls out plans 'to protect' US midterm elections and suppress 'misleading information' Twitter has rolled out some new terms and policies ahead of the 2022 midterm elections, during which the Republican Party is expected to overtake the Democrats to earn a majority in the US House. The election is seen as a barometer of how the Biden administration and their leadership has performed since taking office, and so far, the pressure is definitely on. These changes are in addition to those made in the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election, in which Twitter's suppression and censorship of information played a key role in misinforming the public. Twitter is stepping up to bolster their terms and prevent "misinformation," that catch-all concept for anything that goes against the Democrat-driven narrative. As such, they've announced "steps we're taking ahead of the US midterms to protect civic conversation on Twitter." As they've done in international elections, Twitter is now "activating enforcement" of their "Civic Integrity Policy for the 2022 US midterms." Twitter states that their Civic Integrity Policy "covers the most common types of harmful misleading information about elections and civic events," which include: false claims about how and where to vote, voter intimidation, and "misleading claims intended to undermine public confidence in an election," which includes "false information about the outcome of the election." When Twitter mods encounter information they believe comes under the "harmful misleading information" category, they will "not recommend or amplify this content," and will provide a "prompt prior to liking or sharing labeled tweets, and in cases where there is potential for harm associated with the false or misleading claim, the Tweet may not be liked or shared to precent the spread of the misleading information." In the lead up to the presidential election in 2020, Twitter suppressed and censored reporting by the New York Post that tied then candidate Joe Biden to his son Hunter's overseas business dealings, with insinuations and allegations of influence peddling. Twitter believed reports coming out of the Biden campaign, and other sources, that claimed the information had been obtained through hacking, a disallowable practice, or was "Russian disinformation." This suppression had an impact on the US presidential election, potentially skewing results in Biden's favor, as polls later indicated. https://thepostmillennial.com/breaking-merrick-garland-confirms-he-personally-approved-mar-a-lago-raid-refuses-to-take-questions?utm_campaign=64487 Merrick Garland confirms he personally approved Mar-a-Lago raid, refuses to take questions In a Thursday press briefing, United States Attorney General Merrick Garland confirmed that he "personally approved" of the FBI raid at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, and announced that the Justice Department has filed a motion to unseal the search warrant. The revised guidance – released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday – lifts the requirement to quarantine if exposed to the virus, deemphasizes screening people with no symptoms and updates COVID-19 protocols in schools, eliminating a recommendation for test-to-stay after potential exposure. "This guidance acknowledges that the pandemic is not over, but also helps us move to a point where COVID-19 no longer severely disrupts our daily lives," the CDC's Greta Massetti said in a statement. "We know that COVID 19 is here to stay," she added in comments during a briefing with reporters. The update isn't necessarily a huge overhaul of the existing guidance, but it does represent an increasing focus on individuals making their own decisions about their level of risk and how they want to mitigate that risk, said Dr. Marcus Plescia, chief medical officer for the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials. "That is consistent with where we are in the pandemic right now," he said. "I don't really think there are many state or local jurisdictions that are feeling they're going to need to start making mandates." It also brings the recommendations for unvaccinated people in line with people who are fully vaccinated – an acknowledgment of the high levels of population immunity in the U.S., due to vaccination, past COVID-19 infections or both. "Based on the latest ... data, it's around 95% of the population," Massetti said, "And so it really makes the most sense to not differentiate," since many people have some protection against severe disease. The changes could have some of the biggest impact in K-12 schools. The guidance eliminates the strategy known as "test-to-stay" – a schedule of testing for people that were exposed to the coronavirus but not up to date with their vaccinations – that allowed them to continue in-person learning, so long as they continued to test negative and showed no symptoms. The test-to-stay protocol has been an alternative to quarantine for school, so now "the practice of handling exposures would involve masking rather than a quarantine," Massetti said. You have no idea how frustrating that last article was to read ladies and gentleman. Now before we go… it’s time for my favorite topic… sports! I had an email sent into me by a Daily News Brief listener named Jeremiah Leidenfrost, titled Joe DiMaggio. The email reads: Hey Garrison, I found this newspaper in a house remodel from 1937 talking about Joe DiMaggio. The newspapers were stapled to the inside of the siding as insulation. I thought I would show you this since you like sports. Enjoy, Jeremiah Leidenfrost Now on the news paper, it reads: Joe DiMaggio, the sensational sophmore outfielder of the world champion New York Yankees, today came to terms for the 1937 season. Col. Jacob Ruppert, owner of the club announced that DiMaggio, had accepted the club’s offer, understood to call for a salary of $15,000, and an increase of pay of $6,500 over last tear’s pay to the youthful slugger. For those who don’t know about Joe DiMaggio, nicknamed "Joltin' Joe", "The Yankee Clipper" and "Joe D.", was an American baseball center fielder who played his entire 13-year career in Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees. Born to Italian Sicilian immigrants in California, he is widely considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time, and had a 56-game hitting streak (May 15 – July 16, 1941), a record that still stands. Off the field, Gabe told me he was also known for his marriage to Marilyn Monroe! It didn’t go well… The union was troubled from the start by DiMaggio's jealousy and controlling attitude; he was also physically abusive. A violent fight between the couple occurred immediately after the skirt-blowing scene in The Seven Year Itch that was filmed on September 14, 1954, in front of Manhattan's Trans-Lux 52nd Street Theater. Then 20th Century Fox's East Coast correspondent Bill Kobrin told the Palm Springs Desert Sun that it was director Billy Wilder's idea to turn the shoot into a media circus. The couple then had a "yelling battle" in the theater lobby.[49] After returning from New York City to Hollywood in October 1954, Monroe filed for divorce from DiMaggio after only nine months of marriage. She is also co-author of The Almighty Black P Stone Nation: The Rise, Fall and Resurgence of an American Gang and Deconstructing Tyrone: A New Look at Black Masculinity in the Hip-Hop Generation. Muziekfragmenten: - Anton Bruckner, Vierde symfonie, Scherzo, Berliner Philharmoniker o.l.v. Gina Gibney's choreography always reminds me of what's most important to me about art: serious attention to craft and an equally serious concern about human connection and communication. Gina is a thoughtful spokesperson for the art of dance. I've always enjoyed our encounters and usually go away feeling a little more focused and motivated as a result. I hope you'll be similarly inspired by our discussion about her work, including her development of The Distance Between Us, which premiered at the Ailey Citicorp Theater in November 2007. This year, Gina’s company celebrates its 10th Anniversary as an all-female troupe. See below for updated information on Gibney’s projects. GUEST BIO Gina Gibney’s choreography has been widely presented and commissioned in the United States and abroad at such venues as Danspace Project, White Bird Dance, Yale Repertory Theater, The Duke on 42nd Street Theater, WORKS & PROCESS at the Guggenheim Museum and elsewhere. In response to her growing concern about the status of women in the professional dance world, she reorganized her company as an all-female ensemble in 1997. Since that time, she has created six evening-length works exploring the humanity and physicality of women. In 2000, she launched the Domestic Violence Project, a groundbreaking project that offers dance and creative expression to women who are survivors of domestic abuse. She is the founder of Studio 5-2, an officer of Danspace Project's Board of Directors, and a trustee of Dance/USA. Gibney graduated with honors and received an MFA in Dance from Case Western Reserve University. UPCOMING EVENTS Catch a sample of Gina Gibney’s work at the dancemOpolitan group show at Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater, March 14-15, 9:30 pm. For reservations, call 212-967-7555 or visit www.joespub.com.
