Let me start with something simple—but uncomfortable. Most people don't fail at their fitness goals because they chose the wrong workout. They fail because their workouts were optional. Not bad workouts. Not ineffective workouts. Just… optional. And today I want to talk about one of the most underrated, boring-sounding, but powerful behaviors you can adopt if you want consistency, results, and long-term success:Prebooking and scheduling your workouts. Not when you “feel like it.” Not when the day goes perfectly. But ahead of time, the same way you'd schedule:A work meetingA doctor's appointmentPicking up your kidsBecause once something is scheduled… It stops being a suggestion and starts becoming a priority.Resources:Brain.fm App(First month Free, then 20% off subscription)Discount Code: coachdamiensdCaldera Lab Skin Carewww.calderalab.comDiscount Code: CoachDLinks:IG:@coachdamien_sd@damienrayevans@livinthedream_podcast YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS6VuPgtVsdBpDj5oN3YQTgFB:https://www.facebook.com/coachdamienSD/
Last week Lucasfilm announced that Kathleen Kennedy is stepping down from her role as studio president, a position she has held since Disney's 2012 acquisition. Succeeding her are George Lucas' protégé and Ahsoka creator Dave Filoni, who will oversee the franchise's creative direction as co-president alongside former Lucasfilm General Manager Lynwen Brennan handling the business side of things. Kennedy still has an active hand as an executive producer of both Star War's next theatrical offerings: May's The Mandalorian & Grogu as well as 2027's Starfighter and will continue to produce other projects independently. Kennedy's tenure saw its fair share of highs and lows, especially contending with an often fickle fandom, but with multibillion dollar films under her belt her exit marks the end of an era.It was a surprisingly noteworthy MLK weekend box office– outside of Avatar: Fire & Ash's continuing reign, Marty Supreme became A24's top-performing film of all time with 80 million dollars domestically, surpassing Everything Everywhere All at Once, while Zootopia 2 became the highest-grossing animated film of all time globally with over 1.7 billion dollars, passing Inside Out 2. Meanwhile, Nia DaCosta's 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple opened below expectations with just 15 million dollars over the four-day weekend, falling well short of the 30-million-dollar debut of its predecessor and behind tracking projections of 20 million dollars. Despite the horror sequel's muted debut, it's been an unusually robust box office this January.Netflix has revised its $83 billion dollar deal for Warner Bros. Discovery to an all-cash transaction valued at $27.75 dollars per share, simplifying the structure to provide greater certainty of value for shareholders and accelerate the path to a shareholder vote by April. The amended deal, unanimously approved by both boards, maintains the same per-share valuation while WBD stockholders will still receive additional value from shares of Discovery Global following its spinoff, with Netflix financing the deal through cash on hand, credit facilities and committed financing. This update comes on the heels of Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos' renewed promise to keep WB studio films in theaters for at least 45 days before hitting streaming.Prime Video has released a first look photo of Sophie Turner as Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider series, which has begun production.Hans Zimmer, who has scored more than 500 movies and TV projects, will officially score the upcoming Harry Potter series for HBO Max in partnership with Bleeding Fingers Music, a composer collective that he co-founded.Sons of Anarchy star Ryan Hurst has been cast as main character Kratos in Amazon's upcoming God of War series, which is currently confirmed for two seasons and has begun pre-production. Teresa Palmer was also cast last week and will play Sif, Thor's wife and the goddess of family.Cate Blanchett has signed a deal to reprise her role as Viking warrior Valka in Universal Pictures' live-action How to Train Your Dragon 2.Warner Bros. has set Jorge R. This episode is being re-released in remembrance of Scott Adams, who has passed away on the 13th of January, 2026. This interview remains a meaningful reflection of his ideas, experiences, and voice, and it deserved to be shared again. My guest today, Scott Adams, the creator of Dilbert, joins me to talk about exactly why that is and the type of thinking he refers to as "Loserthink." It's also the title of his new book subtitled, How Untrained Brains are Ruining America. Today, we talk about the fact that being right and being wrong feel the same, how to determine what battles to fight online, how shaming and mockery can be used positively, and ultimately how you can avoid thinking like a loser. SHOW HIGHLIGHTS Augmenting your intelligence Wrestling with social media A "slippery slope" Linear thinking Predictable variables to success Influencing other people Enlightened selfishness Succeeding at systems Mental addiction Adding to your talent stack There's always a deeper level Engaging in "loser think" Determining a stranger's thoughts SCOTT ADAMS Gents, I am stoked to be able to introduce you to my guest today, Scott Adams. Before I do, I want to make sure I thank my friend, Jordan Harbinger, for introducing us. You may not know who Scott is right away but I'm sure you know Dilbert. Scott is the creator of Dilbert and the bestselling author of Win Bigly and his new book, Loserthink. Although Scott really started to gain attention and traction with Dilbert, his political commentary is, in my mind, just as, if not more, important. If you're interested, you can check out what he has to say on Twitter (@scottadamssays). He's never been afraid to ruffle a few feathers and I think that is why he has gained such a following – his ability to say what needs to be said and his ability to say it in a way that connects with so many of us. "I thought I understood healthcare—until I had cancer." Beth Ratliff had spent her entire career in healthcare operations. She'd built multi-site clinical systems, led digital transformations, and risen from physical therapist to C-suite executive. But when she was diagnosed with colon cancer, she discovered something that would fundamentally change how she leads. And it had nothing to do with clinical protocols or operational efficiency. Today, as Chief Operating Officer of Premise Health, Beth has built a reputation in Nashville's male-dominated healthcare executive world for an approach that shouldn't work, but does. She talks openly about being in recovery for 30 years. She shares her cancer journey in board meetings. And somehow, this vulnerability hasn't weakened her position; it's made her one of the most influential operators in the industry. There's something Beth figured out early in her career that most leaders miss: the moment when you realize you're not the best clinician in the room is exactly when you're ready to lead. What she learned on a Toyota manufacturing floor as a young physical therapist became the foundation for a leadership philosophy that combines systems thinking with something that can't be taught in business school but can be learned through lived experience. In this conversation, Beth reveals how she's navigated being consistently underestimated, why she applied for jobs she wasn't qualified for, and what changed in those terrifying moments coordinating her own cancer care that transformed her entire approach to building healthcare organizations. This isn't inspiration about overcoming adversity. It's a masterclass in strategic authenticity from someone who's figured out how to use her platform without making it about herself. Key Takeaways: How to turn being underestimated into your competitive advantage in male-dominated executive spaces The career strategy Beth used to land leadership roles she wasn't "technically qualified" for—and why more women need to do the same What Beth learned on Toyota's factory floor that transformed how she thinks about healthcare leadership Beth's framework for sharing deeply personal experiences without making it about yourself—and why this matters for organizational impact Why patient care technology keeps failing—and the missing ingredient that actually changes outcomes The unconventional way Beth built her advisory board using both real executives and AI-powered mentors How Beth gets her entire organization aligned when everyone claims competing priorities are equally important The critical difference between mentors and sponsors—and how to cultivate both strategically About the Guest: Beth Ratliff is Chief Operating Officer at Premise Health, where she oversees clinical operations, technology integration, and business processes for a nationwide healthcare organization serving employer clients. She started her career as a physical therapist on Toyota's manufacturing floor, where she learned the process improvement discipline that would eventually take her to the C-suite. Beth is a Nashville Health Care Council Fellow, a colon cancer survivor, and has been openly in recovery for 30 years—leading Premise Health to become certified as a recovery-friendly workplace where personal challenges become professional superpowers. Do you ever just say, "I've arrived. I'm done. I've done as much as I can"? Well, there's something that is about that that means that you are basically setting your energy up, setting your mind and your mentality up. And actually, you're setting yourselves up for a complete, massive meltdown. A meltdown in a way that is negative, really. It's really like, um, it's really like your cells actually start dying. That's really— they've done statistics on this. They've done some science on this that shows as soon as people give up, or they say, "I'm good," or "I've done all that I can do," "I'm done learning," um, that's when the cells start dying. So curiosity, creativity is something that you want to continue to explore. If you said, "I don't need to learn anything," especially in these AI days, oh my gosh, I swear to God, the AI stuff I learn every day kind of breaks my brain open. And the thing about us as humans and spiritual beings and people who want to grow and expand and give our treasures to the world for folks who need them, and be seen and express themselves, that "I've done it, I've done enough, I'm done learning" is going to really close your brain. You're going to get closed. You're going to get rigid. You're going to get immobile. You're going to get into a very small energy shell. And you're also going to get in a very small shell of the way the world works. You're going to get cynical. And cynicism — I remember I had somebody who worked for me years back who was a contractor, and one day I said to him, I said, "Oh my God, it sounds like you've just got so much cynicism. Hang on a second, let me look at it." And so I did this deep-dive research on cynicism. And Wikipedia at the time said cynicism is basically like closing your heart, like getting clogged arteries. And the fascinating thing this guy told me is he said, "Oh my gosh, my doctor told me I had, um, I had clogged arteries and plaque in my arteries." And I — that's because cynicism. So cynicism is easy to get if you've been on the planet more than a minute. And we all have. And we all have things to share and give and express and create and communicate. And in order to do that, you have to be curious. You have to know what your energy is doing. You have to come from your heart. You have to come from, uh, willingness not to know, willingness to be a novice, willingness to start all over. I mean, the cool thing about side hustles and somebody who's creative — because I am creative, it's tough to keep up with me — um, is that, uh, I'm never want for new ideas and new things that I can share. I — my gosh, I've written 17 books. So the thing for you here is: Where have you stopped? Where have you stopped playing? Where have you stopped growing? Where have you stopped exploring? Where have you stopped in your creativity? Where have you stopped? Where have you stopped? And where have you dipped into cynicism? Hey, my name is Sheevaun Moran. I'm driving for your success. In this episode of The Fractional CMO Show, Casey continues the conversation with a dozen successful women from the CMOx accelerator boardroom. This is part two of a webinar series where these fractional CMOs get real about building six-figure practices on their own terms. These aren't beginners. These are women commanding $10K+ monthly retainers, managing teams of 30+ people across multiple clients, and turning down full-time job offers even when they didn't have paying clients yet. They come from automotive, financial services, SaaS, climate tech, life sciences, and consumer brands. The conversation digs into pricing psychology, imposter syndrome, getting ghosted by prospects, why portfolio obsession is a waste of time, and the counterintuitive truth that higher-paying clients are actually less demanding. Casey laser coaches through some tough questions about what's really holding people back from charging what they're worth and claiming the expert position they've already earned. Key Topics Covered: -Why higher-paying clients are less demanding and require less "keyboard time" while creating bigger impact -Stop competing on price—establish your rate and find clients who pay it, not clients you have to convince -Corporate conditioning taught you the finish line always moves—fractional work means you set the standards -You're not competing with other fractionals—your success lives in relationships with 20-50 people over your lifetime -Getting ghosted isn't personal until they explicitly say no—keep following up with creative persistence -Pitch decks are overrated—sell the bespoke solution, not a menu of services -Some deals close in a day, others take a year of showing up consistently in someone's world -Who's a good fit: committed, coachable, vulnerable people willing to do the work and hear no

In this episode of The Fractional CMO Show, a dozen women from the CMOx accelerator boardroom come together to share their real experiences building successful fractional CMO practices. This is part one of a two-part series that started when member Courtney challenged Casey's solo episode—pointing out there was a whole perspective he couldn't see. These aren't theoretical success stories. These are women pulling in $10K+ per month in recurring revenue, with at least two hitting $50,000 months in November. They come from wildly different backgrounds: automotive, financial services, SaaS, climate tech, life sciences, and consumer brands. The group dig into what it's actually like—the double standards, the over-apologizing, the tendency to work above contract and undercharge, the corporate conditioning that taught them to fight for a seat at the table and then second-guess everything once they got there. But this isn't a grievance session. It's about what's possible on the other side: no politics, choosing your clients, charging what you're worth, and showing up as the expert you always were without making yourself smaller. Key Topics Covered: Why women undercharge and go "far above and beyond" contracts—and the conditioning behind it -The "too direct" double bind: male colleagues say it, they're leaders—you say it, you're a bitch -Your ideas get ignored until a guy repeats them five minutes later -Why clients let fractionals challenge them but shut down internal employees saying the exact same thing -The confidence gap: men apply at 30%, women wait for 90%—time to close it -Stop apologizing for things that aren't yours -As a fractional, you get to fire bad clients and set real boundaries—something full-time never allowed

In this episode, Angela explores a universal struggle: the pressure we feel when our daily routines, morning rituals, or weekly plans don't unfold the way we intended. What begins as a simple checklist — yoga, journaling, meditation, walking — quickly becomes a silent battlefield of self-judgment, perfectionism, and ego-driven expectations. And when life does not match the internal script, we label ourselves as “succeeding or failing,” often without noticing how exhausting that illusion truly is.Through a vulnerable story from her own morning (“I had already given my morning over to my ego… succeeding or failing…” ), Angela reveals how quickly the mind moves into comparison, ranking, and pressure — even when our intentions are spiritual. She then introduces Byron Katie's teaching on first-generation vs. second-generation living, a powerful framework that shows how:First-generation living = a simple, peaceful planSecond, third, fourth generations = “and it should go this way,” “and I should feel this,” “and others should behave like that”These extra “generations” of thought create tension, anxiety, and emotional fatigue — especially around routines, goals, self-care practices, and holidays.Angela guides listeners back into mindfulness, gentleness, and spiritual surrender, reminding us that the practice is not about controlling the day, but about loving what arises — even fatigue, irritation, or a sense of limitation. She closes with heartfelt prayer requests from the community, bringing forward themes of peace, detachment, compassion, and radical acceptance. This episode is a gentle companion for anyone who:feels defeated when their routine falls apartstruggles with perfectionism or self-criticismwants a softer relationship with discipline and spiritual practiceresonates with Byron Katie, non-duality, and contemplative inquiryseeks a deeper connection to prayer and unconditional love

Have an episode suggestion? Text us!In this episode Matt breaks down why people struggling with addiction and people in relationships with addicts keep their standards low and stay stuck in the same cycles. He explains why so many men fear success more than failure, why sobriety feels terrifying even when you know you can do it, and how comfort becomes the enemy of long-term recovery.Matt shares his own story of keeping the bar on the floor for years and how Paige's unrelenting standards for honesty, integrity, and showing up as a good man forced him to confront the life he was hiding in. He talks about burning the boats on the old life that was easy but destructive, raising the bar, and finally committing to the hard work that recovery requires. This episode also speaks directly to spouses and partners of addicts, explaining why they lower expectations, avoid enforcing boundaries, and silence themselves to avoid conflict, abandonment, or disappointment. Matt shows the parallel between men avoiding effort and spouses avoiding expectations, and how both create long-term pain and resentment. If you are trying to get sober, rebuilding trust, fighting for your marriage, or trying to find yourself again after years of addiction-related chaos, this episode will give you clarity, direction, and a push toward the higher standards that lead to real change.Find video clips and full length video from this episode on YouTube and our other social media pages! On the web:www.twfo.comSupport the Show:Buy Us a Coffee!Online Program: www.independentlystrong.comSoberlink Device:www.soberlink.com/wheelsCheck out our blog:https://twfo.com/blogFollow us on TikTok:https://tiktok.com/@twfo_coupleFollow us on Instagram:https://instagram.com/twfo_couple/Follow us on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/TWFOCoupleFollow us on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@twfo_coupleFind Taylor Counseling Group:https://taylorcounselinggroup.com/Donate to Counseling for the Future Foundation:Donate Here
