Legendary surfer, filmmaker, and environmental advocate Chris Malloy joins us on The Lineup. Known for his no-nonsense attitude and deep connection to the land, Chris dives into what it truly means to live authentically and reconnect with nature. He shares his views on modern conservation efforts, the surf film industry, and what it was like to watch legends like Tom Curren at Rincon in the early days. From hammering nails, cutting wood and driving tractors to fund his surf trips to taking a leap with Patagonia, Chris recounts how stepping away from big sponsorship deals was met with skepticism but ultimately led to a fulfilling path of making purpose-driven films. He offers an inside look at the surfing world before the internet, when curiosity was the fuel for adventure. Chris looks back at his upbringing, moving from Los Angeles to Ojai in the late '70s—a place he describes was filled with hippies, cowboys, and the Hell's Angels. He reminisces about the early surf trips to the North Shore, scraping by with couch surfing and car camping. Recounting stories of Pipeline, Teahupo'o, and the Mentawais, he paints a picture of an era when surfing's greats carved out a living on the waves and off the grid. Chris also reflects on the changing surf culture, the “passing of the torch,” and how while the younger generation's progression may be incredible, he worries they may be missing out on the raw, unfiltered experience that shaped his own career. Chris continues by discussing the evolution of his filmmaking journey, from his early appearances in Taylor Steele's films to creating impactful surf documentaries with his brothers. He discusses his partnership with YETI and their shared ethos of practicality and purpose. He shares how YETI gear became a staple on his ranch, highlighting the importance of quality tools that allow you to do what you love just a little longer. In this episode of Tuna on Toast, Stryker interviews Pennywise singer Jim Lindberg. Jim shares an array of stories from Pennywise history, from chaotic early shows, to landing their songs in surf videos (shoutout Greg Browning and Taylor Steele), to on-tour pranks. How did Brett Gurewittz from Bad Religion influence Pennywise? What was the early Southern California punk rock scene like? When did he know that Pennywise would be his life? Jim gives these stories and more. Over the years, Pennywise crossed paths with a long list of artists, and Jim mentions their history with Blink 182, The Offspring, No Doubt, Sublime and Fat Mike of NOFX (among others). Jim Lindberg was also hugely important to Warped Tour, and he tells Stryker all about its creation. Jim also talks about Pennywise's late bassist, Jason Thirsk, discussing his impact as well as how the band moved forward after his death. The song “Bro Hymn (Tribute)” was rewritten following Jason's passing, and Jim explores the legacy of the tune. Jim's solo project, The Black Pacific, has a new album called ‘Here Comes Our Wave', and he details its recording and how the songs came together. Jim even offers Stryker a glimpse at his life offstage, discussing fatherhood and his own childhood. Could Stryker be involved in the next Pennywise song? Be sure to listen to the end. Brought to you by Show Notes Welcome to Episode 394 of The Outdoor Biz Podcast with Scott Sorensen; Scott is an artist and loves to create. He creates images, illustrations, logos, and more. Scott and I talk about his career and innovative mindset, aptitude for tackling complex business challenges from a fresh perspective, and Creative brand stelekon. Show Notes Were you an "action sports" kid? I was, I grew up in Huntington Beach. One would say sort of the epicenter. But growing up there, you had no idea it was the epicenter. But you know, we skateboarded everywhere. We did BMX, we surfed. Which wasn't only an action sport; it was just sort of that way of life. That was what we did as kids. You must have been creative from a young age. Is that a family trait? I have a Great Uncle who is, but other than that, it sort of skipped most of the generations prior to me. I have a first cousin who's very creative. He's also an action sports guy, Taylor Steele, who made, made surf movies and sort of that created that momentum generation. He's also very creative as far as illustrating and video creation production. So yeah, I don't know where I got it from, but it hit me hard and fast, and as a kid, I was always with a pencil. What was your first commercial creation? I would personally draw things, and then all through school, elementary, middle, and high school, I was the guy drawing the covers of the yearbooks. And then as a young person, I would do holiday windows around the neighborhood. People wanted Santa painted on the windows for the holidays or Halloween. I would do things like that for some extra pocket money as a kid. I was always repainting all my hot wheel cars, and my brother and I used to like to make those old Revell models, painting those, trying to make 'em look realistic. Mm-hmm. I was always doing, trying to do something creative. Did you work with an agency before starting STELEKON? I have not; I never worked for an agency. I take it back, in college, I worked with a very small agency and did a lot of creative work for them as an intern and then a short-term employee, but then quickly started doing my own little agency work. Anybody that needed creative work I did it to help pay for school. I put myself through college. I originally studied architecture. That's kind of really what I want to do. So you'll get this, I would. I did a lot of overlays for builders, and I did a lot of study models. You know, white study models, architecture models for builders locally to show how intrusive the building would be in the natural environment. So I did a lot of that stuff. It was just a way to make some money to help pay for school, help eat while I was in school. And, you know, I did logos for everybody. I did everything I possibly could to make some money. My first big career move was I interviewed at Oakley as a young, fresh college graduate, and while there, I met some interesting people, and they put me together with the other two people that sort of got Dragon off the ground. Dragon Optical was a sunglass, moto, goggle, snow goggle apparel accessory brand. And I was on the creative side. I did the logo; I did all the ads and all the marketing. Tell us about STELEKON. How did that come to life? I think because I'm an artist, I love drawing, and I'm into the creative side of things, I felt classified as a nerd, I would say. Cause I love movies, and I love comic books because I always liked the way they looked and loved the drawing and, you know, was super aspirational. Have wanted to draw for a comic book company. I go to Comicon all the time. And it's sort of a, you know, it used to be sort of a secret, nerd culture, and I think that's sort of gone away. It's become sort of main mainstream now. And creative and clever, and I've always enjoyed drawing and being a part of that, that sort of, that sort of genre. I never had an art tag name. I've been an illustrator and stuff. I never had a tag name. And all my friends, you know, that are street artists all have these really cool tag names. Right. And when my son was super young, one Halloween, there was a bunch of skeletons out in front of a house, and he said, dad, look at all the stelekons, and just as a, you know, a, a three-year-old, uh, mistake. And I said this is perfect. I'm going to awesome trade trademark and get the URL and get everything about it because now I have a name and I, you know, all social handles. Cause it's not a real word, but it sounds like a real word, but it isn't. And that was sort of how I got the name started. What is the inspiration behind the irreverence aesthetic of STELEKON? I think the irreverent side of things is just really just to be, you know, they've been, I don't wanna say persecuted, but they've been looked at as outcasts. When in fact, there's probably more of them now than there is the hardcore, I bet collectively; they're smarter than the rest of us. And so the references just kind of makes it more fun and realistic. It makes it more human and connected to what they're about. What I gathered as the key to your superpowers is your innovative mindset and aptitude for tackling complex business challenges from a fresh perspective. How have those evolved over your career? Architecture is probably right on the border of, or right in the middle between, the right and left brain. Because you're, you gotta be creative, but it also has to work. But I also can use my analytical side too. And I've always considered myself a renaissance cause I was really good at math as well and really good at business acumen and understanding how to get things done. But with a creative hook because I am creative and I've always been a big believer in it's always another way to do this. Maybe even six other ways. Let's look at the different ways to get this, whatever problem, whatever issue, whatever hurdle it is done. Let's find another way to get it handled. And then also, how can we turn this into a positive? We connected on LinkedIn when I liked a post where you wrote, "I've become fascinated with the new 'know-it-all' but 'never done anything' business generation in the world today." How do you think that has manifested in our society today? I've come across quite a few of them, and to me, it's maybe a little bit of envy, but also a little bit of, I don't wanna say disgust, but a little bit of like, eh come on. I think this generation was told they could be anything they wanted. There are no rules. You know, everybody gets a participation trophy, and so they have just this unbridled confidence. And so they can essentially, I'm gonna be a CEO by, by 22 and retired by 30 and a billionaire. Wow. I don't know. That's, that's actually quite a feat. I don't know how that's gonna happen, considering you don't have a job yet, but you're telling me how I should be running my business and you've never even had a job. And then they all claim it. I don't know about you, but I get an email a day and a message a day on LinkedIn from somebody that's gonna tell me how to build my business, they're an E-commerce guru, and I look at their profile and say, this person graduated yesterday right from college, never had a job, but yet he's gonna try to tell me who's got 25 years in this industry, how to grow my business. Now there are some new tactics I can learn. But hey, let's, you know, let's tone down the confidence a little bit. Do you have any suggestions and/or advice for folks wanting to get into creative work? Yeah, I mean, it's a lot of fun. I've guest lectured at San Diego State and Palomar College and at Southwestern College down by the border about creative stuff and expectations. It's a great field. Obviously, the most dedicated bubble to the surface that just with any business. So my thought is, I always tell 'em just know as much as you can. How are you improving your skillset? Every day, every week, every month, every year. And I'm not saying that you're taking classes, but what are you doing to improve your Photoshop, your eye? Right. And I'll tell you, the people that come in that have an artistic eye to start with have an advantage. If you were able to hang a huge banner at the front of one of the tradeshows, what would it say? Individual, we are strong, United we are invincible and Find your path. Ignore the noise. Feed your mind Do you have any daily routines you have to keep your sanity, health like meditation, exercise, walking the dog, etc I have a cat. It's my coworker and likes to go in and out the same door every eight seconds, so it keeps me on my toes. I'm an outdoorsy person, so I'm always doing something. Exercise in particular, as we age, exercise becomes more and more and more important. Especially when you try to go back and do the things you did as a youth, you snowboard, whatever it is, and you're like, man, I just don't have the knee strength or whatever it is anymore. So I just try to stay in shape, and my wife and I try to walk every day. Do you have any favorite books or books you give as gifts? I wish I could say yes. I don't. My wife is an avid reader. I mean, she's reading books all the time. And I get ripped by everybody in my family that I haven't read a book since college. Not true. But that's the joke. In today's episode, we speak with Tim Curran @_timcurran , and we revisit his time as a pro surfer and he tells us just how he became a musician. Tim remembers his 1st open faced, green water wave, and to this day, that wave is responsible for hooking him into surfing. He recalls his childhood days, surfing all day long, and being told to come home before the lights came on. When Tim surfed his first contest, he found out that there were others his age from different areas surfing as well, and after getting a trophy in that event, he realized he was competitive and wanted to beat his friends. After becoming buddies with the Malloys, Tim's world opened up and he tells us how hanging with them opened doors, from being able to meet Kelly Slater, to connecting and eventually filming with Taylor Steele. Tim talks about his other passion, music and how fast it happened, from playing around in between heats with his guitar, to one day playing in front of huge crowds opening up for bands like The Foo Fighters and Switchfoot. And does Tim and son Oli really know the perfect waist high and barrelling wave? Find out!!!Support the showIf you like the QuiverCast here are some ways to help us keep going! I always like Coffee! In this one, Cody talks to Rick DeVoe. From 1994 to 2018, he promoted and managed bands like Pennywise, Unwritten Law, The Offspring and Blink 182. The bands weren't the ubiquitous names they are today, they were local bands. Punk rockers from California, still trying to make a name for themselves. Until Rick had an idea: What if he got their music into surf videos? They could play at video premieres, events and competitions. The first time this idea was put into effect was in 1994, with director Taylor Steele's “Good Times.” Taylor's videos featured guys like Kelly Slater, Shane Dorian and Rob Machado, and the sound of punk went right along with their styles of surfing. Eventually, with the help of guys like Rob Morrow — the founder of Morrow Snowboards — Rick found that that punk sound fit nicely into snowboard culture as well. He found that, at the time, there was a common language of anti-establishment and punk rock mentality that ran through surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding. In the early 90s, Rick brought punk bands to the King of the Hill competition in Thompson Pass twice. The first time, it was Pennywise and The Offspring. The second time, it was Pennywise again, but this time with Blink 182. He admits they were all out of their element in the mountains, but when they took the stage they were right back in their element, rocking a crowd. Before all of that, though, they were on a plane — Rick, the bands and their entourages. There were about 20 to 25 of them and they had flown from LAX to Anchorage, then they hopped on a smaller plane that took them to Valdez. This moment, in that small plane, is one that Rick will remember for the rest of his life. How some of the most influential punk rockers of this generation were buzzing along, headed to some of the most iconic mountains in the world. Thank you to Loft 100 Studios in Carlsbad, California for letting Rick use their studio to record.

Episode 142 – Taylor Steele – Walking the Talk by Patrick Francey
“I think that grind and that process of those real estate meetings late at night after a full day of work and making that trek to Edmonton, that's the stuff that I think people don't see in the business. They see we raise these deals; we raise $500,000 for a deal; they don't know what it took for those clients to trust us with their money and understand what we do enough to believe in us.” – Taylor Steele Connect with Taylor: LinkedIn Youtube Selected links and people mentioned from this episode: Investment Revenue Realty (IRR) Integrated-Equities Inc. [03:22] Taylor and Patrick get rockin' with a bit about what Taylor does, his start in the business of real estate and real estate investing and where he is now with IRR, the company he co-founded with Cynthia Aasen (former TEDM Guest!) [05:28] Taylor explains the entrepreneurship designation he studied within his marketing management program at BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology). Growing up in a strong entrepreneurial family, Taylor was excited to dive into it in an educational setting. [08:14] Clarity through process of elimination: no NHL career, no pro golf career, spending summer breaks trying on different job sectors, Taylor's path ultimately led him into entrepreneurship and full time in the world of real estate. [11:00] Taylor offers guidance from his experience, about owning and running a business, mentorship, and the importance of designating the right roles to the right people. [16:56] What is the driver and the why for Taylor? What lights him up about what he does? [19:25] Leading two investment companies - real estate investment brokerage and private equity exempt market dealers - Taylor and his partners are able to offer a wide range of accessible opportunities to their clients which don't always require a large monetary investment. [23:54] Taylor explains where they're actively working and investing in the U.S. and the places that work really well, with a great track record for their investment clients. [28:56] Economically speaking, Taylor offers his boots-on-the-ground viewpoint of what's happening in the U.S. and the migration of people and businesses from increasingly unaffordable or undesirable states to more approachable ones. [31:25] Taylor illustrates the way in which they mitigate risk and provide growth with their particular investment approach. [36:00] From the millennial standpoint, where many don't see themselves being able to own real estate, Taylor provides ideas for simply getting started and getting your money to work. [40:44] Patrick and Taylor discuss the growing number of baby boomers gifting their wealth to the next generation, and how that may potentially be used to get into the real estate market. Taylor expands on the potential restrictions on the private equity side, that a new investor would need to consider. [43:18] Self storage and car washes! Taylor takes us down the road of a British Columbia based development group they work with who specialize in re-zoning development sites for self storage facilities and car washes. [46:49] With the ever-changing landscape of the world and the movement to work-from-home, Taylor offers his perspective from the lens of sales, rentals, commercial office space and actually, the recovery of downtown cores. [53:44] Taylor discusses his vision for the future of IRR, their focus on prioritizing technology development, and extending the baton of opportunity that was offered to him, now to one of his good friends to work with IRR and build his own business. Saison 4 - Episode n°34.

If the act of looking at something changes it – an effect that holds true for people, animals, even atoms -- then what further impact does documenting have? Over the course of the last 30 years, Taylor Steele's observations and interpretations have helped to define and redefine surf filmmaking -- and to shape the modern, California-centric culture of surfing. In the 1990s Taylor documented a new era of approaches to wave riding through films like Momentum and Loose Change. Later, his cinematic surf travelscapes like Sipping Jetsteams, Castles in the Sky, and Proximity paid poetic justice to the beauty of an adventurous surfing life -- a creative shift inspired by the birth of his daughters. Taylor shares stories about finding a way to do what we love, the impact of fatherhood on his creative process, his formative family surfing experiences, being the 3rd best surf filmmaker in his high school, and realising a formula for making good memories. ..."Taylor, you're the kinda guy who's a real observer. That's probably why film became your thing because you like to watch. And maybe you don't make a strong opinion in words, but you do in the things you put out.” – Kelly Slater, on Taylor Steele. ...Listen with Lauren L. Tequila is a booming business globally. This week we hear from two of the most exciting brands on the market, which are making waves with their award-winning spirits. Today's interview is with Taylor Steele. Taylor was the singer for the 1990s hardcore band Four Walls Falling. As vocalist, he delivered leftist politics with a concern for both animal welfare and the environment, backed with a lyrical positivity that encouraged the listener to believe in their own power, and capabilities, a foundation that served as an inspiration for many future Richmond punks, as well as folks in the punk scene at large. And Taylor's presence in the scene extended beyond the band, for many years the house he lived in, at 805 West Cary St, here in Richmond, Virginia, became a place for touring bands to play, as well as a place to hang out. And as Taylor got older, he also kept going to shows, kind of illuminating that sense of possibility, that he has always seemed to hold. So It was exciting to talk to Taylor and get to learn about his start in the 1980s Richmond punk scene, playing in the bands Pledge Allegiance, Four Walls, and Joyburner, his influences in both music, and in ethics, As well as to hear some cool stories and reflection on punk, and Richmond punk's, path through the past few decades. It was a great conversation, Taylor is both very thoughtful and very humble, and I think you will enjoy it as well.
It is hard to talk about surfing without talking about filmmaker Taylor Steele. Years ago, Taylor set out on a journey to slow down and connect on a deeper level with those around him. Today’s guest is Taylor Steele, founder of the tequila company: Solento. If you’ve been listening to the show for a while, you might have picked up on a common theme: career paths are almost never linear. Taylor’s career path is even more proof of this, as he has gone from indie surfing-filmmaker to creative director of Corona beer in Australia to the head of a premier tequila company. For some, it’s enough to find their passion and make money at it. For others, passions can change over time, and you need to look no further than Taylor’s story to see that if you don’t like the wave you’re currently riding, hop-off and catch another one. With Solento, Taylor is able to bring all of his collective experience and creative energy and pour it into his company. And if the past is any indication of the future, we’ll be seeing a lot more from Taylor in years to come. Listen in as we cover everything from how he distributed his first film by selling one copy at a time to local surf shops, why he felt like a life coach to some of the world-class surfers he was filming, and if he sees Solento as becoming the tequila of choice for extreme sports.

Anyone who knows me outside this podcast knows I'm not a tequila person. In fact, I had not had even a drop of tequila since August of 1999, but because I'm at least semi-professional, and to show respect to my Cheers! guest, I decided it was time to give the agave based spirit a second chance. So in a moment, you'll be an audio witness to my reintroduction to tequila with Taylor's help, and then I'll learn more about Solento's efforts to create a high-quality, sustainable, organic tequila, Taylor's connection to North County and his start filming some of his not yet famous surfing friends. Filmmakers Lincoln Caplice and Stefan Hunt messed around with cameras together as kids. They now have real deal grown-up careers in art and film. Stefan made waves in 2006 when he filmed his journey surfing all 50 states across the U.S, and more recently, has explored how we understand our demise in his immersive project "We're all Going to Die". Lincoln cut his teeth early with film legend Taylor Steele and has gone on to build a strong portfolio of commercial and artistic short films. We talk with both of these young Aussie creatives about the changing landscape of surf film, why a good story always carries the day, and what kind of film they would make with 20 mil of FU money.
Full episode info and Show Notes: www.wearelookingsideways.com Its always great when the legends live up to the hype - and that was definitely the case when I welcomed Rob Machado onto the show for episode 057. Rob was in town to promote Momentum Generation, the new documentary that catches up with the iconic Momentum crew 25 years after they first came onto the scene via Taylor Steele’s classic film of the same name. It’s a compelling watch, and the film doesn’t shy away from tackling some of the great surfing talking points of our time: Rob and Kelly’s infamous high five, the injury wild card vote that ended Rob’s tour career, the death of Todd Chesser, and plenty more. Happily, Rob was also up for going in-depth on these same legendary stories, and the result is an intimate, honest and totally compelling chat with one of the greatest surfers ever. Thanks as ever to Matt Ward for the theme tune.
Despite being born and raised in an iconic beach town just north of San Diego, Taylor Steele didn’t exactly enjoy his first ride on a surfboard. Or his second. In fact, it took nearly 10 years for Steele to find his footing on a board, but after he embraced the sport - and his keen eye for making surf documentaries - his life changed forever. On this episode of Paternal, Steele discusses how he and his wife refused to let go of their dreams of travel and perfect careers after having kids, and how surfing just might be the perfect metaphor for the unpredictability of life.
Life has a funny way of working out. When you have a passion and a desire to learn and grow, it's amazing who we get connected to and the opportunities that present itself. In Taylor's case, he never really dreamed of becoming a famous surf filmmaker. He just loved to surf and hang out with his buddies. He realized at an early age that he probably wasn't going to make the surf tour; but that he passion lied in documenting the experience. Armed with that desire to work on his creative craft, and a determination to create something unique, he traveled around with his surf buddies as they made a name for themselves on the tour, and began filming their sessions. What may have started as a hobby, quickly turned into a career. His production company, Poor Specimen, played a role in launching many popular bands careers like Blink 182, Pennywise and Jack Johnson, as well as many surfers in their early days. You may not find him at the beach these days; but Taylor is always focused on exploring new creative outlets, moving around the world every seven years, and getting out of his comfort zone. Ask yourself- what are you doing to feel younger?
Filmmaker Taylor Steele and painter Richard Phillips are masters in their respective crafts. Through a desire to challenge and some creative restlessness they have also upended expectations on what they offer to their audiences. We speak to these two artists on their collaborative work with the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Sacha Grey and Kassia Meador. We also get into the what Kelly Slater's wave pool means for surfing. This week's episode is another mix-tape of some great conversations I've had on the podcast. This time we're focusing on people who managed to turn the thing that they love into reality, and what it took to make that happen.First up is Ben St. Lawrence, an Australian middle-distance runner, a two-time Olympian and an all around interesting guy. Ben’s not the first Olympian I’ve had on the show, however his story - his particular triumph over adversity and refocus of his life is one worth hearing. After Ben we'll hear from Jane Lu, the founder and CEO of mammoth fashion startup Showpo.com. This is easily one of my favourites - because everyone loves a story of triumph. Of closing the door on something in order to open unknown other doors, leading to the life you really want to live.Next is Taylor Steele, one of the most iconic and prolific surf film makers of our time. Through his film Momentum, released in 1992 - a then twenty year old Taylor captured a new and dominating style of surfing that hadn’t really been seen before as he filmed young surfers that would go on to become household names in the surf world: Shane Dorian, Rob Machado, Taylor Knox and of course Kelly Slater. Finally is the amazing Dr Glen Richards. Glen is a vet, entrepreneurial mega-success and a shark on the Network Ten hit show Shark Tank. It's Dragon's Den in the UK and Shark Tank everywhere else. He grew Greencross from a single vet practice to an ASX-listed company with clinics and pet stores all over Australia. So please enjoy this mega-episode of the show, about the origin stories of great successes. May it give your day some uplift, and maybe even inspire you to create something amazing. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Taylor Steele is a legendary surf film maker with a career spanning 25 years. His movies include Momentum, Campaign 1 & 2, Sipping Jetstreams and Missing. He joins Jimmy & Cahill to talk about his new film Proximity, the changes in his films over the years and why he doesn't want to make Campaign 3 but wishes someone would. An interesting, candid and inspiring chat with the man responsible for documenting an entire era of surf history. Lipped will kiss you where it feels good
Taylor Steele is one of the most iconic and prolific surf film makers of our time. Find him on instagram @taylorsteele.Through his film Momentum, released in 1992 - a then twenty year old Taylor captured a new and dominating style of surfing that hadn’t really been seen before as he filmed young surfers that would go on to become household names in the surf world: Shane Dorian, Rob Machado, Taylor Knox and of course Kelly Slater. As a film, it documented a complete shift in style and propelled these surfers into absolute idol status among fans.Fast forward 25 years later, and Taylor has a new film out called Proximity featuring some of the surfers that he featured back in that first film.It comes out May 12th in Australia for a limited release and will then be released digitally - but I must urge you to catch it on the big screen.I’ve seen this film twice now, once on my desktop and once on the big screen and I have to say it’s easily the most beautiful surf film I’ve ever laid eyes on.If you’ve never surfed, or always wondered about what would drive someone to compete in the world of professional surfing or indeed dedicate their lives to traveling the world and seeking out the most rare and untouched waves they can find - this is a fantastic film.Pairing surfers from different generations together and sending them on journeys to the four corners of the globe in the midst of the four seasons of the year, Taylor has documented again what it means to surf, what it means to compete as a surfer, and what it means to put your life on the line in the search to ride in harmony nature itself.I can’t recommend this movie enough if you’ve always been curious about surfing - you could watch it and then consider yourself schooled about why people would do it.Taylor is a remarkable guy, by his own admission shy and quite specific, I can’t thank him enough for the hour that he gave me in his hotel room earlier this week.He even let me rearrange the furniture so that I could get a better position to suit the microphones. So come now to the tenth floor of the QT hotel on Market Street right in the middle of Sydney, a long way from where both of us were born - for a look into the mind of someone who has always lived a life he loves, a live of creating, and a life that plays a huge role in the surf industry today - because he essentially wrote the theme song to an entire generation of surfers.
