But this week, we're actually covering of the rare Sega games I played as a kid. The sexy as hell shooter known as Vectorman. There were a few games on the Sega side of the console wars back in the 90's that genuinely made me jealous as a Super Nintendo kid, and Vectorman was one of them. I absolutely adored the way it looked (still do), and it was a surprisingly competent platformer/shooter as well. You play as a bot made out of orbs, and you spend the game running, gunning, an transforming as you take on other robots made of orbs. And you blow up a lot of TVs, too. It's a fairly difficult game, but one that gets pretty beatable with a little practice. I think it's a must-play game in the Genesis library. My guest this week was the guy that suffered my wrath on the Ecco the Dolphin episode, my pal Andre. We got into how good Vectorman looks, how decently it plays, he frustratingly tough it can be, and of course, we made a bunch of balls jokes. And before we talk balls, I put together another edition of the Infamous Intro! This week, someone asks if I could buy one gaming studio, who would it be? What's on my Mt. Rushmore of video game collection items? And what gaming mechanic has become wayyyy too over played? Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 Genesis platformers: Quackshot, Rocket Knight Adventures, and Dynamite Headdy. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

I remember seeing the TV commercials for this game and being genuinely impressed as a kid. Unfortunately for the scenario, I was a Nintendo kid and had no way to experience this Sega platformer. When Sean suggested we try this game for an ep, I was more than happy to oblige. I'd totally forgot about a game that I'd wanted to try for a long ass time. The day has finally come, and we get to tackle this classic title. Kick back with Steve and Sean for a swing at Vectorman on the Sega Genesis/Megadrive!

This week, the multi-media sensation that wasn't: Vectorman! A game with great animations that they want to make ABSOLUTELY sure you see! Apparently they wanted this to be a movie, and it basically was, but unfortunately it was many years later and it wasn't about Vectorman and also the movie was Wall-E. Also, we talk Sora in Smash (timely, I know) and discuss the difference between good-natured trash talk and outright bullying, and how easily there can be a lot of bleedover between the two. I showed Tom a video of incredibly high-skill trolling in Smash, and if you would like to see that video yourself, it's here: https://twitter.com/imonly5feet/status/1444749963372662789?s=20 Send us an email to read on the show! theretrobreakdown@gmail.com TW's Discord: https://discord.gg/dTrBruG Podcast games streamed live at: twitch.tv/timewanderer TW on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/timewanderer --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/retrobreakdown/support

ToeJam & Earl won our Patreon Poll last month, and now that I've the chance to spend time with it, I gotta say - well done, hot dogs. This game kicks an insane amount of ass. If you've never played it, you control a pair of aliens named Toe Jam & Earl who have crash landed on Earth. You help them collect the pieces of their ship, while avoiding some of the weirdest enemies I've ever seen in a video game. You pick up presents along the way that contain random items; some good, some bad. What makes this game special is that every game can be different. You never know what's in a present until you open it. It's like a retro rogue like, and it's spectacular. My friend Kait joins me on the show this week, and we geek out all over these stupid aliens and their weird presents. ToeJam & Earl is now one of my absolute favourite Genesis games, and I hope our show this week convinces you to give it a shot if you haven't. And before we get funky, it's another edition Remember The Game Infamous Intro! This week, we talk about stuff like kids listening to this podcast, a potential Metal Gear Solid remake, what other consoles would I like to see get the "mini" treatment, and I rant about SEGA Saturn fans again. Plus, we have another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One'. This time, it's the "Genesis Gems" edition, featuring Comix Zone, Vectorman, and Gunstar Heroes! Are you on social media? Of course you are. So follow us! We'll probably follow you back ;) Twitter: @MemberTheGame Instagram: @MemberTheGame Facebook.com/MemberTheGame Twitch.tv/MemberTheGame
Nick and Eric leave behind their childish ways, and grow from VectorBoys to VectorMen! This week we play the late Genesis Gem VectorMan!
We look at some background information of the Week 6 game Vectorman for the Sega Genesis.
Dimes is a sleepy sweaterboy cutie this episode so most of it is discussing the recent Kyle Rittenhouse shooting, some bits about pedophile incels, revolutionary politics, the deplatforming psyop to turn us against each other, and then one legendary song parody. Have fun! I'm sorry.

Vectorman was a super late release for the Sega Genesis, coming in 1995 while the world was gearing up for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn. But it is also possibly the most technologically advanced Genesis/Megadrive game ever. Listen for the full review, a new Bliss quiz, and an expected lack of professionalism. We start this podcast with the 3 amigos, Jason, Mike and I after an uneventful Super Bowl. Why is anyone still a Knicks fan? Why was Aliens vs Predators 2 so bad? What alien would you hang out with? We all hated rewinding VHS tapes. Jason is the only person in the world who played Vectorman. I get in and out of hobbies really fast (like vaping.)I tell the guys lets go to the library and get shut down. I'm a fan of candles. I'm making bets with Private Party Dollars to Jason. We look at the future of foldable TVs.
On today's show, Marc talks about Swap This! and Hardway Party, two fun little Switch games that, dare I say, are perfect for Switch (and more Red Dead Redemption 2 because, well, just 'cause). But the real meat and potatoes of today's show is dedicated to the Sega Genesis and some of Marc's favorite Genesis games. Anyway, something-something delightful and not-at-all insightful, cheers and enjoy the anime-zing(ly nostalgic) show. The Talking Points: Red Dead Redemption 2, Swap This!, Hardway Party, The Sega Genesis, The Strike Series, Scooby-Doo Mystery, General Chaos, Sonic the Hedgehog, True Lies, Ecco: The Tides of Time, Comix Zone, Boogerman: A Pick and Flick Adventure, Phantom 2040, Jurassic Park, Theme Park, Virtua Racing, Aladdin, Vectorman, Earthworm Jim, Dragon Ball Z (Anime)

Nate and Sebastian are joined by Jordan and Ryan to pay respects to the late, great SEGA GENESIS, a console which was otherwise going to be given short shrift by our episode schedule. Come for Sebastian's effusive praise for Uncharted Waters: New Horizons, stay for Nate's attempt to describe the physical appearance of Vectorman. We touch on the trend of environmentalism in Genesis games and Nate gushes about the soundtrack to Streets of Rage 2. Also, sorry about the eight million music cues in this episode. You can blame Nate for that one. WARNING: This episode contains fifteen full seconds of the Sonic Spinball options menu music. SHOW NOTES: Proof Nate wasn't lying about the Rings of Power title screen cheat code: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyBB8Dr4JSI Several of the games discussed in this episode are available on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/102625/
We act like there's one segment on this show called The Petty Corner. This is a farce; Madiha is petty the entire 96 minutes. Topics include: Video games are dead on PC; we don't wanna remember when Transmediacrity started; GACHA GAOL the Kara No Kyoukai Garden of Sinners event in Fate/Grand Order is pretty okay; we demand Fate Extra on PC; make the Fate fighting game "a jumper one of those" "like Smash"; how the Fate MMORPG would've worked; Esther is still upset about Monster Hunter; in the Petty Corner, Esther despises you if you're enjoying Monster Hunter World, and Madiha loses her entire fucking goddamn mind for a bit (she is sorry); nostalgia for old Monster Hunter; Madiha was good at underwater combat and wants it back; Madiha and Esther's first consoles and console game history, as well as their first animes and anime histories; Esther the playstation kid; VECTORMAN; Madiha is still lost in Breath of the Wild in her girlfriend's Wii U that she has now; the desire to have game journalists ambushed by gacha games on the Nintendo Switch; the shmup gacha that Madiha invented in her mind palace; the dead sea dockets; what the fuck was happening with Tenchi Muyo's airing on Cartoon Network; NEXT ANIME CLUB IS GONNA BE SELECTOR INFECTED WIXOSS EVERYBODY, YOU HEARD IT HERE; one episode of Yugioh is enough Yugioh; Esther WILL PLAY BUTTERFLY SOUP 2 (guess who wont); Madiha wants every visual novel to tell massive war stories in perhaps the least reasonable thing she has ever said on this show!; life's not fair; which of the buttons on a VHS would make the strongest power; DO YOU REALIZE WITH MODERN TECHNOLOGY WHAT AN INTRICATE CHAO GARDEN THEY COULD MAKE; everybody HATES Sonic The Hedgehog; what we're doing to kids these days; what are the good tank games (these don't exist); the life of pablo; we're happy that despite everything the listeners watch the show; THE FINAL YAHOO. Happy anniversary, Transmediacrity. You know what we're not celebrating? Casuls. You're everywhere, and you ruined everything. (PLEASE) Send us questions! Rate us on iTunes! It's time for another sterling episode of Re-Play Radio. Vectorman is the topic du jour, but we've got lots of other stuff to discuss. We talk about Plants vs. Zombies, Ace Attorney Investigations, Bioshock 2, Dragon Age, Asassin's Creed 2, and...*sigh*..."Don't S*** Your Pants" in What Else. Then it's a sensual, stimulating discussion of Vectorman designed to tickle you in the proper places and an unprecedented DOUBLE assignment! Finally, it's another scattershot Re-Play Rant, including discussion of unnecessary gaming gifts for rich people, games being too long, and why Blizzard sucks for not making a Mac client for the Starcraft 2 beta. It's a jam-packed episode that weighs in over at over an hour, so download it and enjoy!
