Look out world, Dawson's making himself a movie! And while Kim can't stop touching the microphone (sorry friends - I didn't know I was doing it), that's the least of Zazz's issues with this episode. Come for the episode, stay for the oddly long conversation about Limp Bizkit, and not enough conversations about Notting Hill.Season 5, Episode 14 - “Guerilla Filmmaking”From HBO Max: As Dawson struggles to direct a classmate's script, Joey confronts her own feelings about Professor Wilder.

Jershua Cavazos is a musical theatre actor. She made her Broadway debut in The Prom back in 2018. In this show, she was in the ensemble. Cavazos got to share the stage with pure musical theatre legends such as Beth Leavel, Brooks Ashmanskas, Christopher Sieber, and Angle Schworer just to name a few of her fellow cast members. The show sadly closed less than a year into it's run in 2019. Post pandemic, Cavazos was starred in the Off Broadway musical, Between the Lines. (with Arielle Jacobs from Season 2). This show was also a huge success during the course of its run in New York City. In an episode recorded right after Midnights was released, Zazz is upset about hand gestures, Kim is upset about never holding a World Record, and everyone with a heart is upset about how Pacey treats Joey.Season 4, Episode 20 - “Promicide”From HBO Max: While sparking a pair of possible romances, Capeside's senior prom threatens the future of two others.

Zazz is bringing an "I'm about to see Lizzo in concert" energy to this episode, and really... do you need to know anything else? Oh, also, equally exciting, we finally have a Jen episode!Season 4, Episode 18: “Eastern Standard Time”From HBO Max: Senior Ditch Day sends Dawson and Gretchen on a road trip to Maine; Jen takes Joey to New York for a showdown with her dad.

This whole virtual podcast thing has really opened up the world for us, allowing us to share a beer with people we otherwise may not have been able to. Recently we connected with Will of Tribus Brewing in Milford, Connecticut, and we were immediately taken by their quality photography, slick social and delicious-sounding beers. So of course, we were excited to learn more about these guys and set up a podcast. We chatted with Sebastian and Matt, two of three of the co-founders (Tribus means "three" in Latin) about how the brewery came about, the craft beer scene in Connecticut and how it's an overlooked region, their barrel program, and even their Top 5 rappers (we don't get to talk to fellow Hip Hop fans here often so Cee jumped at the opportunity). We crushed three of their beers - Biër, their flagship Pils; Benji, a Citra-forward NEIPA; and Slab, their brand new DIPA. This time it's a 7 year old survival game called rust.From screen rantThe PC game has had a long development history; it released in early access back in 2013 and spent five years in that unfinished state before finally seeing a full release in 2018. Now that it's finally been completed, many are wondering what's next for the game. It had been planned for a console release last year, but after that was delayed, fans of the game are wondering when it might arrive on PS4 and PS5.Rust has been quietly scraping by for years now, but recently, it has seen a startling resurgence on Twitch. In recent days the obscure survival game topped the charts for most views on the streaming platform, beating out titans like Minecraft. At the time of this writing it's still sitting at a respectable second place, with 612k viewers to its name. While these issues have been brief in duration, they've been affecting multiple people at the same time.“We are working to resolve the issues causing the site not loading correctly. Thank you for your patience,” the Twitch support page said on January 2. It had once again gone down for some people before picking back up again.This has been a recurring theme for the site. There's been three major occurrences in the last seven days that's been a focal point of discussion among the community.These errors come in light of reports of increased ads for people who use the uBlock Origin plugin and the prevailing notion is that these outages are the result of Twitch's ongoing fight against these programs.It should also be noted that the platform has been increasingly implementing new add ons and experimental features to Twitch which could also be affecting the performance of the site.Nikki - What are you making of these constant outages? Facebook ordered to pay $4.7M to Italian developer over copycat featureLike many great tech giants before them, facebook has stolen someone else's work. Not like this is the first time.From the VergeFacebook has been ordered to pay €3.83 million or $4.72 million in damages to an Italian developer over the social network's “Nearby” feature. Reuters reports that the Milan-based appeals court upheld a 2019 ruling saying Facebook had copied the feature from developer Business Competence's Faround app.The case dates back to 2012. That year, Business Competence launched Faround which was designed to help users find Facebook friends near their location. The app quickly gained ground in the Italian market, Reuters previously reported. However, just months later, Facebook launched its own Nearby feature, which also competed with the likes of Foursquare and Yelp, and downloads of Faround reportedly plummeted.The Italian software developer responded by filing a lawsuit in 2013, and Reuters reported that the court issued a preliminary ruling in its favor in 2016, which was made public in 2017. Sometimes they are used to stop people from creating fun games for you to play on your twitch stream. From the pieceFollowing a mass DMCA takedown order from Nintendo, 379  fan-made games have been removed from games hosting service Game Jolt, including many free-to-play titles.Game Jolt is a website that hosts free and commercial video games for download. Sometimes indie games are sold on the website alongside the Epic Games Store and Steam, while other times, gamers make fan-made follow-ups to their favorite titles such as Undertale. "The web site at gamejolt.com generates revenue from advertising banners displayed on the site and advertisements played while users wait for the games to load," Nintendo's statement says. "We would appreciate our expeditious removal of all infringing content."The company has a legal team specifically geared towards anti-piracy and copyright infringement that seeks out even hobbyists and indie developers "to give all legally-sold Nintendo games a chance to succeed," Nintendo's legal page states. In the past, Nintendo targeted Super Smash Bros. modders for tampering with its software with costume and skin mods.Symph - Could we be sued just for talking about this? As a result, we have made the difficult decision to re-allocate our resources to other areas that provide value to the Minecraft community and to end support for Minecraft Earth in June 2021."Microsoft will cease all content and service support for Minecraft Earth on June 30 which means you won't be able to play or download the game any longer. This next fix is definitely a step in the right direction but is only one piece of the puzzle.From the vergeThe biggest change in this version of OBS is support for the feature that Twitch debuted in Twitch Soundtrack — the ability to play music in a second track while you're streaming to Twitch, so that it can be stripped out of your recorded broadcast, or VOD (video on demand).OBS pointed out that Twitch helped with the development of the feature, which is interesting because the company already has Soundtrack. I can only imagine it means that this is the latest front in Twitch's fight with the music industry — because if streamers get used to stripping music from their VODs as a general practice, the problem of people broadcasting copyrighted music on Twitch might eventually solve itself.Depending on how this integrates with twitch the music would technically still be there in the vods unless you are uploading the vod yourself. However, one of our favorite trolls is here to cash in on the trend in quite a different way.From polygon,On Thursday, Chance “sodapoppin” Morris streamed the unthinkable live on Twitch: He dunked rare Pokémon cards in lube. And that's not all — Morris also set plenty of cards on fire using a flamethrower, rolled cards in dirt, and blended cards in an effort to all-out destroy them.Nearly 100,000 concurrent viewers tuned in to watch the destruction at certain points; the archived stream has more than 1.2 million views.Where did Morris get all these cards, you ask? He bought them as part of a rare pack, worth thousands of dollars. There were plenty of duds within that pack, but they all faced the same fate: destruction.It's a practice that Morris himself has been critical of. “I got a lot of shit when when I played blackjack on stream because I was ‘promoting gambling to children,'” Morris said on stream in November. “And now Pokémon is big and everyone loves it. Twitter has announced they will be shutting down the video streaming service for good.From the verge - Twitter will, however, continue to offer live video streaming through its integrated Twitter Live feature within the main Twitter app.“The Periscope app is in an unsustainable maintenance-mode state, and has been for a while,” the company explained in a blog post. “Over the past couple of years, we've seen declining usage and know that the cost to support the app will only continue to go up over time.”While Periscope won't be fully shut down until March, the company is already blocking any new account signups starting in the latest update to the apps, which is rolling out today. Users will have the chance to download an archive of both their Periscope videos and their data before the app is shuttered next year. In a statement released by CD Projekt Red, the studio admitted that it "ignored the signal about the need for additional time to refine the game in the base last-gen consoles." On the bright side of things, while Cyberpunk 2077 is riddled with bugs and glitches, most of them are fixable through a content update.Although CD Projekt Red recently released a hotfix targeting quest bugs and crashing, it will probably take a while before the game is polished to a near-perfect state, or even a playable one at that. Chris Pine.From the Nerdist - John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (both directed Game Night and wrote Spider-Man: Homecoming) are directing this Dungeons & Dragons movie. They're writing the script too; it's based on a Michael Gilio-penned draft. The film will be an ensemble that, according to Deadline, will take a “subversive approach to the game.” The ensemble part makes total sense. D&D games center on a group of players going on an adventure together. Any movie trying to capture the feeling of the game needs to be a group effort. They're planning to start filming in the first quarter of 2021. Original Boba Fett Actor Jeremy Bulloch Dies at 75 Star Wars fans can't seem to catch a break with several original cast members passing on the last few years. Now we have lost another.The man who originally wore the Boba Fett armor, Jeremy Bulloch, has passed away at the age of 75. A post on the actor's Facebook page says he passed peacefully after health complications. Born in 1945 in Leicestershire in the United Kingdom, Bulloch began his acting career in 1958. Back then he starred in television commercials. He soon transitioned to film and other TV acting roles. Aside from playing Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, he also portrayed Hamlet, appeared in Doctor Who, and Robin of Sherwood. Bulloch had parts in the James Bond franchise too in The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only, and Octopussy. Boba Fett became the cult icon of the original trilogy. This led to a long and successful career for Bulloch on the Star Wars convention circuit for many decades. The 501st Legion even inducted Bulloch as an Honorary Member in 2002. He often cosplayed in his Boba Fett costume and made public appearances with them. Streamers flocked to twitter to voice their disgust over what in this hosts mind was a step in the right direction by twitch.FROM THE PIECE On TableOC.comA twitter user writes:So what about music in game? The biggest game is about to drop next month and we have to mute all music entirely and ruin the experience for the in game!Twitch Support (@TwitchSupport) replied: Hey there, thanks for reaching out. We recommend reading through any game's EULA, and utilizing any option to turn music off if the game includes that option, or mute the game audio.That was the point where people seemed to have lost their minds. It seems the idea that a content creator should be responsible for making sure that they have the rights to the content they are broadcasting is insane! The response has ranged from (and I'm paraphrasing) “twitch should buy licenses for everyone to stream music” to “Twitch wants to kill off our streams by having us do audio-less streams”.  The backlash is coming not from a place of reason but from obvious frustration. For example, a game streamer may offer a prediction about whether they'll be able to pull off a certain number of eliminations — and viewers can predict whether that'll be true or not.Those who predict correctly will get a certain portion of all the points spent on that prediction, meaning they'll either lose their contribution if they're wrong or get even more points if they're right. Videos swirled this week of the Xbox series X with smoke rising from its tower like structure.From our piece - The posts would have you believe the blazing graphics of the Series X are so demanding they can cause an Xbox to catch fire, but the reality is much simpler than Xbox consoles spontaneously bursting into flame. What actually appears to be happening is that people are piping vape smoke into their new $500 consoles to give off the appearance of a fire to troll fans on social media.Xbox issued a statement via twitter saying: We can't believe we have to say this, but please do not blow vape smoke into your Xbox Series X.If that isn't the most 2020 tweet I don't know what is.Dainty - What is it that drives trolls to do this sort of thing? Among Us to Add New Map, Accounts System and More Among Us publishers Innersloth have pushed an update for the game and have outlined a road map for upcoming content. From the IGN piece -A new developer blog post on the Among Us news hub on Steam mentions that Innersloth is working on an account system, set to arrive as early as December, which will let players report toxic or hacking accounts, with friend lists to follow after that. The team is also hard at work on a free new map, which is apparently bigger than Polus and features brand new task types, and will be free to all players. Professional translations into multiple languages are also in the pipeline, as well as full-blown colourblind support.The latest update has brought bug fixes and anonymous voting to the game, which marks every vote as grey to obscure voting intention and make ejections even more mysterious. Innersloth also mentioned that it's working on dealing with cheating and hacking in the game.Ghost - Hackers in among us? I didnt know this was a thing. WWhat makes this game so popular? AEW's new video game looks like pure nostalgia injected into your Xbox or PS5  Wrestling video game developer Yuke's, who most recently worked on the WWE 2K games (up until 2019) is working on the AEW game, and it's rumored they're working the team from AKI, who were responsible for the legendary, beloved N64 titles — most important of which was WWF No Mercy. This marks the return of this style of wrestling game. For years fans have really only had the opportunity to play the WWE 2K series on consoles, though the Japanese-focused Fire Pro Wrestling World, released in 2017 offered a deeper style of gameplay, minus the AAA graphics. No release date is currently scheduled for the AEW game, with work still being done in the pre-alpha stage, but for now I'm just hoping it can live up to its pedigree, and bring me back to the time where I'd play nothing but wrestling games. Parler, a conservative twitter clone as billed by the verge, has become the latest bastion of free speech on the internet.From the Verge - Conservative angst over President Trump's loss has resulted in a surge of downloads for Parler, a conservative social network founded as an ideological alternative to Facebook and Twitter. According to data from SensorTower, Parler's app saw 980,000 downloads in total between November 3rd (Election Day) and November 8th,Interesting here they are calling it an ideological alternative. Parler's main difference from other social networks is that they choose not to sensor political thought or stifle free speech. We order straight to series in the first rather than make pilots, which results sometimes in more season one cancelations,” she said according to Deadline. “Even with that, I still believe a season order is still a better creative expression of a writer's idea so I still think that's the right model for us.” “It seems like in this new age of television, the business model is a little different. The things that marked success prior to Netflix really had been getting to syndication, that was the goal and anything that didn't get to 100 episodes or past the four seasons didn't feel like a success,” he said. “Whereas I think many shows can be a success for being exactly what they are and you could tell that story in two seasons or one season or five seasons. Ladies and Gents how are you tonight?Streaming News Facebook Gaming will now allow partnered streamers to play copyrighted music This week  Facebook Gaming announced it is set to allow its partnered streamers to play copyrighted, popular music in the background of their live streams — which means they've seemingly solved the copyright problem that's plagued live-streaming (and basically the entire internet) since the beginning. In a press release, a spokesperson for Facebook Gaming put it like this: So, how's it work? Music played during a gaming broadcast must be a background element, not be the primary focus of the stream. For example, a streamer's voice and/or gameplay audio should be in the foreground. This also applies to clips made from a livestream, and the VOD version of livestreams, but does not extend to separately edited and uploaded VOD content.  the licenses Facebook has apparently negotiated do not include every track; some, mysteriously, are “restricted.” If streamers try to play those, they'll get a pop-up notifying them that the track they're playing isn't actually licensed for use on Facebook Gaming. Symphonic - This seems like a huge move by facebook to tap into Twitches growing command on streaming. What do you think Twitch will answer with? Twitch Removes Mid-Roll Ads After Negative Response  Twitch recently rolled out a new ad experiment where it placed mid-roll ads in people's streams. The ads would show up for some viewers during streams and would support the creators that people were watching, but the streamers themselves wouldn't have any control over the ads. The test went about as well as anyone would expect and has since ended with the mid-roll ads being removed from the streams in response to the negative feedback. They had this to say on twitter - Thank you for all of your feedback. We have completed the mid-roll ads test. Ads are an essential part of keeping Twitch freely available and we understand your concerns. We'll continue to work on ways to improve the viewer ad experience and give streamers more control. FullBump - Your thoughts on the ads and the backlash? AMC Networks & Twitch To Launch The Walking Dead Universe Live Streaming Channel  Expanding a hugely popular franchise, AMC Networks is launching a new channel on Twitch, The Walking Dead Universe, in partnership with the popular Amazon-owned live-streaming service. AMC said Thursday it will produce live original programming with fans able interact via Twitch, which started as a gaming platform but has expanded into all kinds of live streaming content with a strong social media component. TWDUniverse will start with around 12 hours of original content a week. “The Walking Dead has built one of the most passionate and engaged audiences on television, and we're thrilled to partner with AMC Networks to develop new ways for fans to experience this pop-culture phenomenon,” said Michael Aragon, SVP of Content at Twitch. “Today, television audiences want more from their viewing experience beyond the traditional 50-minute episode, and we're excited to partner with brands and networks in the future to expand this audience connection.” Stump - Its interesting they seem to be focusing on curated content. Would you like to see a channel that plays episodes 24/7?Gaming News Will the Xbox Series S hold back next-gen gaming? The biggest difference between the larger Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S, apart from the size and design, is the GPU inside. The Xbox Series S has 4 teraflops of GPU performance, compared to the 12.15 teraflops on the Xbox Series X. The smaller console also has less RAM (10GB instead of 16GB) that also runs slower than the Series X. Other than that, the Series S runs the same Series X CPU at a slightly slower speed, and has 512GB of SSD storage instead of 1TB. Some of the changes Microsoft has made to accommodate a cheaper Series S console have created a lot of debate around whether this console will hold back next-gen gaming in general. “Really bummed about this RAM situation on the Series S,” said Axel Gneiting, a principal engine programmer at id Software, in a now deleted tweet. “This isn't easy to compensate and drags down base spec quite a bit for next-gen multi platform.” Symphonic - Whats your take on MS choosing to, according to some, holding back next gen graphics and hardware? Hogwarts Legacy is an open world Harry Potter game coming to PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC Hogwarts Legacy is a new Harry Potter open world game releasing next year across all major platforms, Warner Bros. announced on Wednesday as part of Sony's PlayStation 5 price reveal live stream event. The game, developed by Disney Infinity developer Avalanche Software, is set in the 1800s at the iconic Hogwarts from the book series, but given its time period it will not involve playing as the series' titular character. In a press release, Warner Bros. describes the game as an “open-world, single-player, action role-playing video game set in the 1800s wizarding world,” where “players will experience life as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry like never before, as they live the unwritten and embark on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world.” The release says players will “grow their magical abilities by mastering spells, brewing potions and taming fantastic beasts,” adding that the game will include familiar locations like the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade Village. FullBump - This is a huge game announcement for next gen platforms. Why do you think in a world of online play they opted for a single player open world? The end of the 3DS marks an inflection point for portable gaming  Nintendo seems to have halted production on all variations of the Nintendo 3DS, marking the first time since 2004 that Nintendo is not producing any dual-screen portable systems. Back in 2017, Nintendo said explicitly that the newly launched Nintendo Switch wouldn't replace the 3DS. Since then, the company has repeatedly reaffirmed that continued support, saying as recently as last November that the 3DS would be supported into 2020. For now, the Switch Lite keeps Nintendo involved in the production of dedicated portable gaming hardware, a space it has dominated in an unbroken line since the 1989 launch of the original Game Boy. Outside of Nintendo, though, portable gaming continues to be dominated by the tiny computers practically everyone carries around in their pockets. Symphonic - Do you think we will see game makers start to make higher tier games for mobile devices?Entertainment News CONSOLE WARS Doc Explores Sega and Nintendo's Epic Battle  When I was growing up you were either Team Sega Genesis or Team Super Nintendo. I was a Sega kid. Now did that mean SNES fans were my mortal enemy? Yes, of course. They still are and always will be. That's just how it worked. You had to pick a side in the first truly great video game fight. And the epic story of that Sonic versus Mario showdown will be told in the new documentary Console Wars, coming to CBS All Access this month. “Console Wars takes viewers back to 1990 when Sega, a fledgling arcade company, assembled a team of misfits to take on the greatest video game company in the world, Nintendo. Ewan McGregor Gives Update on Disney+ OBI-WAN KENOBI Series We covered a bit about OBI Wan on past episodes but now Ewan McGregor has given us an update about the new show. So far, it appears that the Obi-Wan show is a “one and done” standalone season. While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, McGregor said,”As I understand, it's a standalone season.” But he leaves open the possibility that there could be more when asked about a season two. “We'll see. Who knows?” It doesn't sound like he's permanently closing the book on Old Ben. As most Star Wars fans know, Lucasfilm originally conceived the Obi-Wan series as a feature film. But after Solo flopped at the box office, the studio decided to hold off on doing more standalone movies. Rumor has it that the Josh Trank Boba Fett movie simply morphed into The Mandalorian. And thus, the Obi-Wan movie became a series as well. Rumors became fact when Ewan McGregor finally confirmed the series on stage last summer at the D23 Expo. He even admitted he'd kept it a secret for nearly five years. Stump - its interesting to me that longer form entertainment like podcasts and series of shows seem to be replacing movies in the fandom sphere. What do you make of Disney opting to do tv instead of movies? Neil Patrick Harris Has Been Cast in THE MATRIX 4 — GeekTyrant  Neil Patrick Harris has officially joined that cast of director Lana Wachowski's The Matrix 4. There's no word on who he'll be playing, but it will be a main role. He will join the previously cast Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, who will be reprising their roles of Neo and Trinity in the film. Yahya Abdul-Mateen (Aquaman) was also recently cast in the movie and he's rumored to be playing a younger version of Morpheus. Symphonic - With the news of Barney Stinson himself joining Matrix 4 it would seem that the movie will be….Wait for it….Legendary. Estimated to have over 20,000 paying subscribers, one of the many benefits these users get is the ability to chat in the stream. Yet, Doc is now experimenting with allowing all viewers to chat, even non-subscribers. While worried about the spammers this will bring he said, Before this, Dr Disrespect had also roasted the spammers too, mocking them for incessantly copying and pasting messages from other users: "I can't imagine the brain that is sitting in that head!" Even big streamers suffer when their chat is as involved as they want them to be. Brose how do you deal with those streams when the hype is low? PewDiePie reveals his future YouTube plans after returning from break After a month-long break, the king of YouTube Felix 'PewDiePie' Kjellberg is back. Returning from his recent hiatus, the Swede made his triumphant return on February 21 by catching up on memes.  The Swedish star uploaded a 15-minute video where he reacted to world's best memes that he had missed while on vacation. reacted to his subreddit having descended into chaos while on break. "I always wondered what you guys would do. What's going to happen to the subreddit.  Now we know. Absolute garbage, thank you!" he joked. The YouTuber ended the video by stating that he will be uploading daily again, and also thanked his fans. "Thank you for all the nice and lovely supportive comments while I was gone, that really cheered me up," he said. "It's been really healthy and good for me to take this break. I appreciate everyone's patience." Rogue, how has pewdiepie being gone ruined your life? When will you be making your big return?  Pokimane explains why being called a “Twitch thot” doesn't bother her Imane “Pokimane” Anys is one of Twitch's most popular streamers, boasting a huge audience of over 3.9 million followers on the site — but being an internet star doesn't come without its difficulties. Although Pokimane sports a hugely supportive fanbase, she likewise has a horde of haters, many of whom label her a “Twitch thot” — an insulting term meant to degrade women on the platform by accusing them of using their sexuality to get views. “‘Thot' is like the lowest list of anything that will hurt me,” she joked. “I've heard that sh*t a million times!” ~Zazz will rant for a second here. Stump, is that the key to dealing with online hate just brushing it off or should we police it?   Twitch streamer Nymn "kicked out" of Furry convention for livestreaming  Another streamer is again in trouble for live streaming from a convention. Nymn's furry convention adventure came to a quick and abrupt end, when he and his companion were told to stop live streaming and were then kicked out of the building. Nymn seems to believe that the behavior of his chat might have been responsible for the sudden boot from the venue, and spoke candidly to his viewers about how he views their behavior. “Some of the people in the Twitch chat were not being very friendly. So I can understand, if you're into this stuff, if you see someone streaming and you check out their stream and the only thing you see in chat is negativity, you'd think ‘yeah I'd probably want them out of the convention' as well.” Blaming his chat seems a little ridiculous when he was filming/streaming from a private event without permission. Brose, what are your thoughts on irl streams and how to go about them?Gaming News EA's Server Woes Call the Entire Future of Cloud-Gaming Into Question Cloud gaming might be the future, but many people are wary. EA's recent server issues are only expanding these fears. EA is currently suffering from some server problems. Many of their online-based games remain unplayable – more than three hours after the company first marked them “resolved.” Luckily, you don't need servers to play most single-player game modes. But imagine if all video games were 100% online – as they would be if you were using a cloud gaming service – and you start to see the scale of the issue. Rogue Tiger's retro LCD handheld games are making a comeback Hasbro is bringing back another ‘90s classic: the monochrome Tiger Electronics LCD handheld. Today, the company announced that it'll be releasing four new versions of the iconic handheld, which will launch this fall for $14.99 each. As with the originals, each device will play a single game. The launch titles include The Little Mermaid, Transformers: Generation 2, X-Men Project X, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (all are available to preorder at Gamestop now).  This isn't the first such ‘90s LCD revival. Back in 2017, Bandai Namco brought back the classic Tamagotchi, which similarly banked largely on nostalgia. Like that effort, Hasbro's new gaming devices feature nothing in the way of modern conveniences. Instead, they harken back to a much simpler time for the medium. PlayStation cites coronavirus, backs out of multiple major gaming expos [Updated]  One day after Sony's PAX East cancellation, the company's PlayStation arm has now announced plans to skip a second major gaming expo, the Game Developers Conference, by citing the impact of coronavirus on its worldwide operations. Its exit from the March expo has company: Oculus, the virtual reality arm of Facebook, will also no longer attend GDC. GDC's organizers posted a statement on Thursday assuring attendees that they're moving forward with the expo as planned, based on guidance from state and city health advisers. "We believe that, based on the strict US quarantine around coronavirus and a large number of enhanced on-site measures, we are able to execute a safe and successful event for our community," the statement said. And while the first trailer for Be Our Chef looks like the least relaxing vacation ever, it should be a lot of fun to watch. Plus, it offers a big time reward for its competitors. One family will see their original dish on a Disney menu in the park. Angela Kinsey (The Office) hosts the upcoming new cooking show for Disney +. The culinary competition premieres on the streaming site this spring, on Friday, March 27. Each episode will see two families facing off, as they concoct totally original treats and dishes inspired by that week's signature character. Reboot Is Back For Seconds VIdeo Cue If there's one show that collectively traumatized a generation of millennials, it's Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark. The Canadian-produced series originally aired from 1990 to 1996, with a reboot in 1999 for an additional season. It followed a group of friends who call themselves the Midnight Society; they gathered 'round a fire each week to tell a horror story. That story then played out for the audience, anthology-style. Each episode had a new, frightening thing to terrorize its young audience, from vampires to ghosts to aliens to ghouls. Last year, keen to dip into the wells of nostalgia, Nickelodeon rebooted Are You Afraid of the Dark. And successfully, at that, because it's coming back for a second season.  Stump were you fan of the show as a kid? Borderlands Movie to Be Directed by Eli Roth  Eli Roth (Hostel, Death Wish) is officially set to direct an upcoming film adaptation of the popular Borderlands video game franchise. For those unfamiliar with the Borderlands series, it's perhaps best to think of it as a kind of warped, sarcastic version of the Mad Max franchise. It tells the story of a post-apocalyptic world dominated by roaming gangs, legions, and other power-hungry coalitions. The series is infamous for its elaborate weapons, over-the-top violence, and wicked sense of humor. Without much detail past that Rogue what are you hoping to see from this series? Masters of the Universe: Revelation Cast Revealed  Kevin Smith's animated He-Man reboot for Netflix, Masters of the Universe: Revelation is coming closer to reality. The series, which was announced back in August, will pick up the story from the original Filmation He-Man and the Masters of the Universe animated series years later, basically taking the Creed/The Force Awakens/Jurassic World approach with its “belated sequel” look at the world of Eternia. Netflix has now revealed the Masters of the Universe: Revelation voice cast just to name a few Mark Hamill as Skeletor Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela Liam Cunningham as Man-At-Arms Stephen Root as Cringer Diedrich Bader as King Randor and Trap Jaw And the king of hardcore himself Henry Rollins as Tri-Klops Oh yeah and btw Kevin Conroy, the voice of batman, as Mer-man.
