Much of the focus on the FIFA Football Agent Regulations (FFAR) has rightly been from the perspective of football agents, however, what has been the experience of many of those within FIFA tasked with developing the FFAR? In this episode of The Agent's Angle, we are privileged to be joined by Tarik Ajanovic, a former FIFA official from the Agents Department; for a first-hand account of the challenges, thoughts, & experiences from a rarely heard perspective. Not least, whether their efforts are good enough for FIFA & others in football to view agents as 'stakeholders'. There is also a look at the latest circular from FIFA featuring the AWG (Agent Working Group), agent exam, & agent licensing fees. Recruit & Retain with Employee Benefits - Kyle Minick The evolving employer market is placing a greater emphasis on HR policies, benefits, and healthcare transparency. In this episode of the podcast "Self Funded" hosted by Spencer Smith and featuring Kyle Minick, the importance of these factors in talent management strategies was discussed. Traditionally, financial compensation has been the primary focus for employers when it comes to attracting and retaining talent. However, surveys have consistently shown that compensation is not the top priority for employees. Instead, factors such as flexibility and paid time off are often cited as more important. This highlights the need for employers to look beyond monetary rewards and invest in HR policies and benefits that foster a supportive work culture. Creating a sense of value among employees is crucial for retaining them. This can be achieved through leadership that demonstrates emotional attachment and loyalty. Employees want to feel that their employer cares about their success and well-being. HR policies and fringe benefits play a significant role in creating this sense of value. Offering assistance with buying a home or expanding financial futures are examples of how employers can show their commitment to their employees' long-term well-being. The insurance industry is also evolving to offer creative and tangible business solutions. Benefits are a major expense for businesses, and insurance companies are recognizing the need to go beyond traditional coverage. They are now focusing on HR policies, fringe benefits, and talent attraction and retention. 100 Episodes in!  There have been occasions when I have not expected to reach 100 episodes. As anyone knows, who has a podcast, there is a huge amount of time and effort that goes into putting even 1 episode together, especially when it is created by one person from conception to release. So why do it? Right from the beginning, I wanted people's stories to be told. I didn't want anyone else to feel as lost and confused as I did when Perimenopause hit.  It seems there are thousands more people like me and I have the honour of meeting just a few of them - to share their stories, their expertise, knowledge and energy. I love meeting these brilliant, inspiring people - they lift my day and I hope they lift yours too.  Imagine my joy, when the gorgeous Lisa Stockman, a truly inspiring stylist - reached out and we ended up meeting in person - for real - in person and she came all the way from Melbourne to London!  So we had to do things a little differently and film an episode. I will be the first to admit that it doesn't work so well as a podcast in audio-only form but we had so much fun and I hope it goes some way to showcase Lisa's talent. Beliefs about weight in the medical field and the barriers to approaching health in a weight-neutral way. It's the first episode of Beyond Weight - a NEW series that asks the question “how can we manage health concerns without focusing on weight loss, food restriction, and body shame?” - and in it Jill is speaking with Dr. Lesley Williams-Blackwell, a board certified family doctor and certified eating disorder specialist. She's an advocate for diversity and inclusivity in healthcare and today she's talking about Health at Every Size in the medical field - the archaic beliefs and the barriers to doing things differently. Lesley also has some fantastic ideas on how to shift a medical practice to be more weight neutral and the way forward for the profession, in general. She's also the author of the lovely children's book - Free to Be Me: Self Love for All Sizes! In this episode, we discuss: Health at Every Size (HAES) What is Health Equity? What are the challenges to Health Equity? Opposition to HAES in the medical community Working with fatphobic practitioners while gently helping them to see a new way How the word “obesity” is misused The historical framework of the BMI (body mass index) and why medical professionals stay married to this archaic tool Why weight stigma leads to medical care avoidance Time as a major factor in changing the approach to health and weight The feeling in the medical field that it's irresponsible to NOT focus on weight and why that belief is the by-product of internalized fatphobia What does it look like to practice in a weight-independent way, as an MD? The way forward for the healing professions… Why some individuals may find it challenging to opt-out of diet culture - even when they're ready to accept their bodies… and how we can meet these individuals where they're at. In this episode, John is joined by Guy Garvey and Craig Potter from Elbow, to talk about how ‘Giants of All Sizes’ was written and recorded. Craig and Guy look back at some of the sessions tracked over a two year period, reflecting on what was an emotionally challenging time for Guy and how this influenced the writing and mood of the record - something grittier and more contemplative than previous Elbow albums. We get to hear early demos and track break breakdowns, plus bags of wisdom from the big man. Listen to find out how the band channelled their feminine energy, how a monorail journey ended up as a drumbeat, and what happens if you drunkenly text Elvis Costello in the middle of the night. Songs: Seven Veils, Dexter and Sinister, On Deronda Road  If you'd like to help support the show you can donate as little or as much as you'd like here, (we really appreciate your contributions): Donate You can learn more about our partner Focusrite here.     Strong economic growth is an important aspect of our lives and businesses, so when external factors look to threaten this, we want to be vigilant. It’s the time of year to start looking forward, but there can be a danger with prediction and forecasts when we rely on them too closely. Yet there’s something to be said for long term trends. Looking at things from a macro level adds a lot of value, allowing us to make clearer personal, business, and financial decisions - helping to better inform and prepare us for the challenges ahead.   So what does the future hold if we have a slowing of globalization? How does this affect our families, livelihoods, and businesses? Today I share the six resistors to future global economic growth. I explore the effects that political conflict, IoT, and intergenerational wealth transfers have had on the global economic growth and society. I discuss how technological changes have impacted the job market. I also discuss how income disparity and populism are affecting the global economy.       “We’re on the tip of the iceberg of the largest inter-generational transfer of wealth in history.” - Colleen O’Connell-Campbell     Today on I’m A Millionaire...So, Now What?:   The growth in globalization and how it has stalled since 2007 The role revolutions have played throughout history in shaping job markets The growing divide between the ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’ The impact that technological changes and advancements have on our industries and economy Why Janice Gross Stein believes our global economy is headed for a period of ‘bust’ Who should be involved in building our core infrastructure in these interesting times     Resources mentioned: Episode 73 - Cyber Breach: The Impact on Businesses of ALL Sizes with Katherine Thompson, Principal at Human Firewall Solutions Inc.   The world is changing quickly, and the scaling and adoption of technology means that it plays an even more significant role in our lives. With more interactions taking place online and people's data being shared or stored in many ways, the risk of cybercrime continues to grow. From every interaction, be that buying an online product or service or reading emails, a threat of cybercrime exists.   Today I share how cybersecurity affects you. I highlight how technology plays a part in almost everyone's lives on a moment-by-moment basis and reveal how the risk of cybercrime is growing, from privacy breaches to fraud or intellectual property theft. I share how people and organizations are prone to phishing, having their email hacked, having fraudulent charges applied to credit cards, or being attacked by ransomware. I also share how businesses that were once ‘brick and mortar’ now exist as a virtual presence, increasing the chances of their - or their customer's - data being compromised.       “Technology and its constant evolution impact our lives on a daily basis.” - Colleen O'Connell Campbell       Today on I’m A Millionaire...So, Now What:   How technology touches all parts of our lives. It is a record that could only have been made in the 21st Century.

Episode's Key Points: Sometimes we may struggle with a disconnection from our body. Instead of listening to our internal cues, we focus on external measures like calories and other numbers. But we have to move away from this to find authentic health! The world is still really stuck in diet culture, and so we have to guard ourselves against the messaging around us! Support is ESSENTIAL to this process, especially from clinicians that understand Health at Every Size. We have to be sure that we're getting ENOUGH food every day, and that we're finding satisfaction from our food experiences in order to feel truly satiated. In this diet culture world, we actually might be UNDER eating! This can make our bodies think we're starving, which leads to bingeing. Make sure you're eating enough and eating a VARIETY of foods! It's also important to make sure that we've fully made peace with ALL foods! This is a part of intuitive eating, and will help you to balance your eating behaviors. Having true permission to eat can transform your relationship with food and can even help you to honor your body overall, which can help support body acceptance and body respect. Common aches and pains happen to people in ALL body sizes! If someone blames your knee pain on your size, they're being fatphobic, PERIOD!! By allowing your body to be where it wants to be, you're actually giving yourself the best opportunity to heal. All of diet culture is about MONEY! Show Notes: Julie Dillon RD blog Link to subscribe to the weekly FREE Food Peace™ Newsletter. It is sent out every Tuesday morning. Are you trying to protect your kids from all the diet culture messaging out there? Listen now for my chat with friend and colleague, Anna Lutz, while we break down how to help our kids be resilient against this disordered culture. Subscribe and leave a review here in just seconds. This episode is brought to you by my online course, Your Step-by-Step Guide to PCOS and Food Peace™. Sign up now to get on the waitlist for the next enrollment period on January 25th, and receive my FREE road map: Your First 3 Steps Toward Food Peace™ with PCOS. You CAN make peace with food even with PCOS and I want to show you how. Product links may be affiliate. If you click and make a purchase, there's no extra cost to you. Episode's Key Points: It's January, and diet culture is EVERYWHERE! I worry a lot about the messages my kids are getting from these commercials and programs... Anna Lutz joins us today to talk about protecting our children from all the diet culture out there!! There's SO much of raising children that we don't have any control over. There's only so much we can do to protect our kids from so many things, from diet culture to bullying. Instead of trying to control everything around your kid, focus on creating a foundation for your child to come back to when they're confronted with diet culture. Remember, we can do all the "right things," but their genetics and personality can also play a role in how susceptible they are to diet culture. We can't change the way the culture perceives our kids' bodies, but what we CAN do is support our kids in their home and give them a safe haven no matter what goes on outside. Do what you can to talk positively about ALL bodies and talk neutrally about food. Model food and body peace the best you can! Try to have consistent family meals where you can connect and communicate with your kids, and where you can model how to handle food in a neutral way. Research shows that this helps them to be resilient! If your kids encounter fatphobia and tell you about it, start asking questions! Make them think about it, and start a conversation, rather than just trying to correct it. Help them to critically think!! Remember, you're raising the next generation! Who knows, maybe we're making the first group of kids who don't believe in weight bias and diet culture. Show Notes: Julie Dillon RD blog Link to subscribe to the weekly FREE Food Peace™ Newsletter. We live in a world in which advertising comes in a lot of different forms, but not too many sizes. For instance, a quick scroll through Instagram reveals some cleverly disguised ads, many of which are for clothing and accessories. Your favorite Instagram influencer tells you where to buy her trendy outfit. The picture-perfect Instagram hooks you, sending you to the website to buy said outfit. But they don’t carry anything bigger than a size large, which, by the way, looks like it wouldn’t even fit your pug, Bruno. So, not only do you not end up with the cute outfit you went in search of, you also don’t have any self-esteem for the day. I say no more! Let’s give those size-prejudiced clothing retailers the boot! The post Polina Veksler and Alexandra Waldman: She’s Making Sure Fashion Comes in All Sizes appeared first on On The Dot Woman.
