Our latest guest is Megan Park, who returns to Soundtracking to discuss her young adult drama, Sterling Point, which will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 5th August. The story revolves around Annie and her twin brother, who inherit their mysterious grandfather's lake island in Canada, where they find new friends, budding romances and untold family secrets.
It is finally August time, and that means the first episode of Player 1 vs The World's StrangeCast podcast is here to kick off the month. In fact, Adnan Riaz and Adam Evalt reunite for the Patreon-built StrangeCast x The Lost Records Journal show, with Amazon Prime Video's Life Is Strange TV series taking centre stage.
Amazon Prime Video's God of War series is shaking up its cast again, and this time it's by design. On this episode of Geek Freaks Headlines, Frank breaks down the report (via Polygon) that Atreus and Thrud are being recast for Season 2. The Season 2 casting call lists "Joshua" and "Ruth," the same codenames used for these characters in Season 1, but with the age range pushed up to 17 when it previously topped out at 12.Frank explains what that age bump signals: the show is doing a time jump between seasons, just like the games did, and rather than letting the young actors grow into the older roles, production is simply casting new performers. It also points to a clear structure for the series: one game per season. Season 1 covers the first game, Season 2 moves into the sequel, no stretching a single game across multiple years of TV.Plus, the Kratos situation is still unresolved after Ryan Hurst's injury, but there's good news on the production front: cameras roll again in October.00:00 Casting update: Atreus and Thrud recast for Season 2, per Polygon00:24 Why the recast points to a time jump, new actors instead of aging up, and the "one game per season" structure00:38 Kratos still uncast after Ryan Hurst's injury, filming resumes in OctoberAtreus and Thrud are being recast for God of War Season 2The Season 2 casting call uses the Season 1 codenames "Joshua" (Atreus) and "Ruth" (Thrud)The listed age range now goes up to 17, where it previously topped out at 12The jump points to a time skip between seasons, matching the gap between the two gamesProduction is casting new actors rather than letting the current young cast age into the rolesThe series looks set to do one game per season: Season 1 for the first game, Season 2 for the sequelKratos still needs to be recast following Ryan Hurst's injuryFilming resumes in October after a pause tied to that injury"Atreus and Thrud are both being recast.""Instead of letting the actors age up, they're just going to be casting new ones.""Season one, game one. The three Lord of the Rings stories quickly became huge hits when first released as novels in the 1940s. In this episode of the California Sports Lawyer Podcast, host Jeremy Evans analyzes how increasingly complex media-rights agreements can determine where games are played, how they are distributed, and whether they happen at all. The canceled Duke–Michigan basketball game demonstrates how competing contractual claims can prevent a valuable sports opportunity from moving forward. Jeremy discusses why Duke and the ACC believed they could place the game on Amazon Prime Video with ESPN's approval, while the Big Ten and Fox maintained that the rights belonged to them under an agreement governing neutral-site games between the conferences. The episode also explores media consolidation, the expanding role of sports agencies at the intersection of talent, investment, capital, and strategy, and the consequences that rights disputes create for schools, athletes, venues, sponsors, and fans. As sports, media, business, technology, and law continue converging, media rights increasingly represent both valuable commercial assets and instruments of control. Future agreements must protect those rights while preserving enough flexibility to create compelling matchups, generate revenue, develop new traditions, and ensure that the underlying games can still be played. If you are looking for a review of the odyssey, you wont find it here, but we have other exciting news. Like Disney cuts Pixar staff, even after making a billion dollars. Netflix just posted its slowest revenue growth in over a year, and the stock got hammered. We break down why the sell-off might be mispricing what's actually happening underneath the numbers.Netflix's Q2 2026 earnings sparked a sharp market reaction, with growth decelerating and forward guidance coming in around 12% for Q3 and Q4. Using fiscal.ai data, we compare Netflix's 325+ million paying subscribers against Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery/Paramount+, Amazon Prime Video, and ad-supported giants like YouTube and Meta. We dig into why Netflix remains the clear leader in paid streaming even as its ad-tier data center buildout has yet to reaccelerate top-line growth. On the financials side, we cover Netflix's 33% operating margin, $3.4 billion in GAAP net income, and $1.5 billion in free cash flow for the quarter, plus the lingering cash impact from the terminated Warner Bros. Discovery merger talks. Then we move to valuation: trailing and forward P/E and price-to-free-cash-flow multiples, and why this may be the cheapest Netflix has traded in three to four years. Is Netflix transitioning from a high-growth streaming stock to a steady, profitable value stock, and does that make current levels an entry point? We break down what the market is pricing in for long-term EPS growth and whether the bar has been set low enough to matter for long-term investors.Semi Insider members get access to CSI's research platform and tools plus deeper research as it happens. Marvel Studios finally gave us something to whet our appetites regarding Avengers: Doomsday as they dropped the first full-length trailer on Monday. Old and new favorite heroes are coming together to band against the biggest threat they've ever encountered, Doctor Victor Von Doom.Christopher Nolan's highly-anticipated film The Odyssey premiered last weekend to a box office best for the savant director, opening to $264.1 million globally. With a stacked A-list cast, Nolan's flair and drive for practical filmmaking, and a huge push to see the movie in IMAX (since it was filmed that way,) this entry to Nolan's repertoire has been as long-awaited as Odysseus' return to Ithaca. And clearly…the people are liking what they see. For 2026, The Odyssey has the third best opening weekend behind Toy Story 5 and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.Matt Reeves' The Batman Part II is being delayed once again and will now open in theaters on February 18, 2028. That release date is nearly six years after the March 2022 opening of The Batman. Reeves announced the new opening date on Vimeo accompanied by the first camera test footage of Robert Pattinson's return as the Dark Knight. Pattinson began filming during the press tour for The Odyssey, which he was also part of. At an appearance at Fanatics Fest 2026, Ryan Reynolds confirmed that there will be another Deadpool movie at some point in the future, although he did not provide any more details past that confirmation. After calling New York City home for almost 90 years, Marvel Comics will be relocating to Burbank, California, the current headquarters of Marvel Studios and corporate parent, The Walt Disney Company. Stephen Wacker, a respected veteran comics editor who also earned an Emmy nomination for his work in the company's forays in animation, has been named Marvel's new editor-in-chief, replacing outgoing chief C.B. Cebulski, who had steered the division since 2017. The move also leaves NYC without a major comics publisher, as DC Comics relocated to California in 2015. Amazon Prime Video‘s God of War series will recast the starring role of Kratos following an injury to the original actor Ryan Hurst on set that he suffered in late June. While performing a stunt, Hurst tore his bicep and had to undergo surgery. His recovery timetable puts him out until early 2027 at best. Sources tell Deadline that four episodes had been fully completed at the time of the incident. Colman Domingo and Tony-nominated director Robert O'Hara are in talks to co-write a live action film based on Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog for Disney. It is not described as a live-action remake of The Princess and the Frog, but rather a story inspired by the original film. In an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Kevin Feige spoke on the Mahershala Ali Blade reboot that has yet to materialize saying "I am feeling like a gigantic loser and failure that we didn't get off the ground with Mahershala." He was also asked about Adam Driver as Magneto rumors and responded “It's no secret we'd like to [work with Driver], but it's a tradition to Zoom with him, and then he passes. That's a long-lived tradition."

What do you do when you're trying your best, but life feels like the worst? In this message from Is That in the Bible?: House of David, Pastor Levi Lusko explores one of the most overlooked seasons in David's life—not the giant he defeated, but the king he endured, becoming the target of jealousy, hostility, and betrayal. Yet instead of becoming bitter, he keeps showing up with excellence, integrity, and trust in God. Through David's example, we learn how to handle difficult people without becoming difficult ourselves, how to guard our hearts from bitterness, and how to keep doing the right thing even when it costs us.This message will help you:– deal with difficult people without losing your peace– overcome bitterness, resentment, and cynicism– set healthy boundaries without abandoning grace– learn how worship changes your perspective in hard momentsContinue watching in House of David Season 1, Episode 4 + Season 2, Episode 7, streaming on Amazon Prime Video.NEXT STEPS:Ask for prayer or connect with a pastor: https://freshlife.church/contactRegister your decision to follow Jesus and receive free resources: https://freshlife.church/know-godGive a financial gift to support what God is doing as we take steps forward to see the Gospel reach far and wide: https://freshlife.church/giveSUBSCRIBE:Sign up to receive encouragement straight to your inbox, and to stay up to date with announcements, events, and more: https://church.us13.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=6ea4d82b2567db3e86b7767cd&id=451f2fe63eDon't miss a video! A Supreme Court justice describes carrying a bulletproof vest into her home and watching her family live through swatting threats. That's where our conversation starts to feel less like politics and more like a stress test for the country and for the institutions we rely on when things get ugly. With Michael Garofalo in the co-host chair, we talk candidly about what intimidation does to public service and why leaks like the Dobbs leak aren't just scandal, they're a direct hit to trust, safety, and the court's ability to deliberate honestly. Before we get heavy, we also keep it real with the week's most absurd headlines and what they reveal: the military's new focus on testosterone screening and the debate over TRT, plus the Taco Bell “explosive diarrhea” probe that turns into a surprisingly practical conversation about foodborne illness, dehydration, and how fast a bad travel meal can wreck you. We also share a quick plug and a few behind the scenes notes on the Mark vs. the Mountain season finale on Pure Flix, Great American, and Amazon Prime Video. Then we zoom out to the big chessboard: data centers, the power grid, water allocation, and the AI race with China. We break down why blanket bans can backfire, how data centers may be forced to generate their own power, and how foreign influence campaigns thrive when Americans get turned against each other. We hit fresh Morning Consult polling, the midterm outlook, Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, and a media moment where Jamie Dimon refuses to take the Axios bait.Subscribe, share this with a friend who follows politics closely, and leave a review so more people can find the show.Website: https://www.nodoubtaboutitpodcast.com/Twitter: @nodoubtpodcastFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/NoDoubtAboutItPod/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/markronchettinm/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ%3D%3D

What do you do with the sin you keep excusing, minimizing, or planning to deal with later? In this message from Is That in the Bible?: House of David, Pastor Levi Lusko unpacks one of the most shocking scenes in Scripture—when the prophet Samuel literally hacks King Agag to pieces. As strange as it sounds, this story carries a powerful warning for every believer: the sins we tolerate today can become the strongholds that take us down tomorrow. Through the story of Saul's slow drift from God, we see how compromise rarely happens all at once. It starts small, grows quietly, and eventually leads to consequences we never intended. But no matter how far you've wandered, God offers the power to cut them off at the source and walk in freedom again. This message will help you:– identify the small compromises that can quietly pull you away from God– recognize the difference between partial obedience and full surrender– break free from destructive habits and recurring struggles– walk in victory through the strength of the Holy SpiritContinue watching in House of David Season 1, Episode 1, streaming on Amazon Prime Video.NEXT STEPS:Ask for prayer or connect with a pastor: https://freshlife.church/contactRegister your decision to follow Jesus and receive free resources: https://freshlife.church/know-godGive a financial gift to support what God is doing as we take steps forward to see the Gospel reach far and wide: https://freshlife.church/giveSUBSCRIBE:Sign up to receive encouragement straight to your inbox, and to stay up to date with announcements, events, and more: https://church.us13.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=6ea4d82b2567db3e86b7767cd&id=451f2fe63eDon't miss a video! There's so much weight to this episode, in different ways. It's absolutely landmark episode of The Walking Dead. And I didn't remember how much it was just Negan applying constant pressure to Rick, until he breaks. Yes, it's hard to watch, and I don't blame anyone who thought it was too much. And also I think for what it was, it was done so well. Lucy and I are so pleased to be joined by Ben for this one to help us do it justice. Of course Ben hosts this podcast for Dead City coverage, and I think it was a good balance of viewpoints among the three of us. Hope you enjoy! As we mentioned on the podcast, the rewatch will be on hiatus for awhile after this one. Sometime in the next two weeks I'll be joined by Chris of The Talking Dead podcast and Rich to cover the new Evil Dead movie, Evil Dead Burn, and then soon after, Alex and Ben will be on for Dead City S3!
