Reach Out: Please include your email and I will get back to you. Thanks!Revelation 3 Jesus continues His message to the churches, addressing Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. To Sardis, He warns that they have a reputation for being alive but are actually spiritually dead. He calls them to wake up, strengthen what remains, and repent before He comes like a thief. To Philadelphia, He offers no rebuke but encourages them to hold fast, promising protection and honor for their faithfulness. He places before them an open door of opportunity for service that no one can shut. To Laodicea, He issues a stern warning, rebuking their lukewarm faith. He urges them to become zealous and repent. Though He stands at the door and knocks, He will only come in if invited. Each message ends with a promise to those who overcome, listening to the Spirit's wisdom.  We are called to examine the true state of our hearts. It is possible to appear strong in faith while drifting far from God. Jesus sees beyond our reputation and invites us to wake up, repent, and return to what is lasting. We must not settle for a lukewarm life. He desires that we walk in full devotion, not half-hearted belief. When we remain faithful, even with little strength, He opens doors that no one can close. We do not earn these promises, but we are invited to respond with faith and endurance. Jesus stands at the door, ready to come in. We must choose to listen, respond with humility, and walk in renewed fellowship with Him each day.  All-powerful God, You see us as we truly are. You know when we are strong, and You know when we have grown cold or distant. Thank You for sharing the power of Jesus and calling us to serve Him more faithfully. Wake us up when we become complacent. Give us courage to repent and strength to follow through. Help us not to live for appearances but to walk in genuine faith and devotion. When we feel weak, remind us that You are with us. May our hearts remain open to Your correction. Come close to us as we turn to You.  Thought Questions: What does it say to Jesus to want white garments in glory, but soil your garments in this life? Why must you choose holiness now? If your deeds are faithful, how might God open a door for you that no one can close? What does that mean, and has He already done so? What is “lukewarm”? Why does Jesus advise such a one to buy gold, garments, and eye salve from Him? What does He mean by that?

Read Online“If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine in the hills and go in search of the stray? And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray.”  Matthew 18:12–13Jesus teaches us a powerful lesson using a familiar image: the shepherd who discovers one of his sheep is missing, goes on a diligent search, finds the lost sheep, and rejoices. The hard work of searching through the hills and valleys is rewarded as soon as the shepherd spots that one lost sheep in the distance. He quickly runs to it, picks it up, and carries it back to the flock. While that one sheep is not more valuable than any of the other ninety-nine, there is great joy in finding the one that was lost.We are all that one lost sheep at various times in our lives. Sometimes we stray just around the corner, while other times we wander far from God. This image of the Good Shepherd diligently seeking out the lost sheep teaches us two essential lessons. First, when we wander away from God and fall into sin, it's easy to forget how much the Good Shepherd loves us. We might think that God is disappointed or angry with us, but these are lies from the evil one that deter us from turning back to God. Since we will always struggle with sin in this life, we must have a clear image in our minds of the Good Shepherd's love. We must be keenly aware of the passion, intensity, and determination with which He seeks us out. He does not sit in judgment or condemnation. Like a loving parent, His deepest desire is to find us and for us to allow Him to pick us up and carry us back to His fold. While this image is crucial for us to consider regarding our personal sins and God's love for us, it must also serve as a model for how we relate to others when they sin. As we grow closer to God and become more aware of His will and moral law, we might be tempted to judge others, especially within our own families. Though we must never downplay objective sin or become indifferent to the sins of others, we must also reject the role of judge and jury. Instead, we must become instruments of the Good Shepherd to those around us. With Christ, our only intention should be to go out to the lost, find them in their sin, love them despite their sin, and offer to carry them home. We must never reject a person because of his or her sin, even if the person remains obstinately attached to it. Reflect today on the burning compassion our Lord has for you, even when you sin. Never hesitate to turn back to Him and allow Him to carry you home, rejoicing all the way. Also, reflect on those you know who have strayed from God. Perhaps they no longer attend Mass, are living in an immoral relationship, vocally support something contrary to the Gospel, or struggle with an addiction or sinful attachment. Do not judge them—love them. Be an instrument of the Heart of Jesus for them so that, through you, they may sense the love Jesus has in His Heart for them. My most compassionate Jesus, You are the Good Shepherd Who never tires of pursuing Your straying sheep. Your deepest desire is to bring them home. When I stray, help me to remember Your burning love for me so that I will never hesitate to turn back to You. When others around me stray, please give me Your Heart, dear Lord, so that I may love them so deeply that You draw them out of their sin. Jesus, I trust in You.  Image via Adobe StockSource of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2025 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Used with permission via RSS feed.

Utilizing a humorous misunderstanding regarding his possible employment at Starbucks, he unpacks the very real schism the Body of Christ today experiences over this apocalyptic vision. He also shows how it is actually quite reasonable to come to differing viewpoints on the matters in question inside this mysterious book. In today's episode for December 8th, 2025, Hunter invites us to journey together through First Timothy, chapters 1 to 4. As your Bible reading coach and brother, Hunter shares the daily practice of immersing ourselves in Scripture—not just reading the Bible, but allowing it to read through us and shape our hearts toward the living Word, Christ Jesus. This episode explores Paul's encouragement to train ourselves in godliness, highlighting how spiritual discipline and reading God's Word are essential to a renewed mind and transformed life. We'll consider how our faith, conduct, and sense of godliness are influenced by persistent practice and community support. Along the way, Hunter leads a thoughtful prayer reflecting the anticipation of Advent, the need for courage, and the hope of Christ's coming. You'll also hear personal reflections on pottery, spiritual growth, and a heartfelt thank you to listeners who support the Daily Radio Bible ministry. Whether you're new or returning, settle in as Hunter guides us through today's reading, reflection, and prayer, reminding us above all: you are loved. TODAY'S DEVOTION: How godly are you? It's a strange question, isn't it? Even the word "godly" feels like such an old-fashioned idea. But Paul tells us to train ourselves to be godly. The measure of our godliness, he says, is linked to our training—to the practices and habits we intentionally cultivate. Apparently, you can train yourself to be godly. That's quite a thought. One of the things Paul encourages Timothy to do in his training for godliness is to read the Word of God publicly. That's not just for Timothy—it's for all of us. Reading God's Word is part of our regiment, our daily training in godliness. This is elemental, foundational to our growth: by spending time in the Scriptures, we are washed clean and our minds are renewed. Our hearts are shaped. We begin, day by day, to look more and more like the One who has the words of life. So how's your training going? Are you feeling a bit out of shape in your life with God? Maybe you need a coach, someone to come alongside and encourage you as you press into these practices. That's why this podcast is here. I am your Bible reading coach, here to encourage you and journey with you as we train in godliness together. So let's keep at it. Let's never give up on this training, because there are great benefits—not only for this life, but for the life to come. The Daily Radio Bible community has been a great encouragement to me, as I've learned to see who God is, how he feels about me, and what he's done for the world. What God is like is revealed in the person of Jesus. I wouldn't have known that had I not spent time training in the Word. So let us keep at it, day by day, coming together as brothers and sisters to be renewed in the truth that has been revealed to us in Christ. That's a prayer I have for my own soul. It's a prayer I have for my family—for my wife, my daughters, and my son. And it's the prayer I have for you. May it be so.   TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.   Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.   And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.  OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation.   Leave us a voicemail HERE: https://www.speakpipe.com/dailyradiobible Subscribe to us at YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Dailyradiobible/featured OTHER PODCASTS: Listen with Apple Podcast DAILY BIBLE FOR KIDS DAILY PSALMS DAILY PROVERBS DAILY LECTIONARY DAILY CHRONOLOGICAL

The presence of God is an amazing thing. To think that God is with us is incredible. God is omnipresent. He is always with us. In fact, He promised to never leave us or forsake us. But if that is true, why don't we experience more peace? The answer is that we are not always aware of God's presence.Main Points:1. J. Oswald Sanders - “Peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of God.”2. Most often, we are more aware of our fears, anxieties, problems, and struggles. These present difficulties occupy our thoughts and emotions. We can let them take over. But when we are consumed with fear, worry, and anxiety, we are less consumed with thoughts about God. So, the issue is not about God's location. The issue is with our awareness of His presence.3. So, let me ask you: How aware are you today of God's presence? Are your thoughts focused on the Lord? Have you spent time with him today? Have you read His Word and allowed it to speak to your soul? Have you made time to worship and pray? Spending time with God is the most important thing you will do today. Today's Scripture Verses:Philippians 4:6-7 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.Quick Links:Donate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group

He was born at Thebes in Egypt, and at a young age left his pious parents, his inheritance and his acquaintances to dwell in the Egyptian desert, devoting himself to ceaseless prayer. After many years, he reputation spread and, despite his desire for solitude, throngs of pilgrims would seek him out for his prayers and counsel. To escape the attentions of men, he did a surprising thing: he abandoned the desert and moved to Constantinople, settling in the Blachernae district, where, amid the bustle of the city, he was able to pass unnoticed, more secure in his solitude than he had been in the caves of Egypt.   As he grew in obedience to the commandments of Christ, the grace of working miracles grew in him, and once again he gradually became known. Once a blind man cast himself before Patapius on the street, and the Saint cured him instantly by calling on the name of Christ. Once he healed a man crippled by dropsy, anointing him with the oil from a vigil lamp and signing him with the Cross.   After blessing the Church for many years with his prayers and miracles, St Patapius fell asleep in peace, and was buried in the church of the Monastery of the Egyptians near Constantinople. In 1904 his precious and incorrupt relics were uncovered in the course of some building at a small monastery near Corinth. From that time the monastery has been dedicated to St Patapius, and many miracles are worked there.

In this deeply vulnerable Christmas episode, Rusty and Heather revisit their first holiday season after the affair—only four months into the most painful chapter of their marriage. While Christmas is often portrayed as magical, peaceful, and sentimental, their reality was filled with fear, shame, awkward family gatherings, and the heavy tension of trying to celebrate while still grieving what had been lost. They share what it felt like to navigate meaningful holiday moments while carrying heartbreak, and how the pressure to “hold it together for the kids” made everything even more complicated. Yet woven through the pain is a powerful story of Emmanuel—God with us—showing up in the middle of their brokenness. Rusty and Heather describe how God began the earliest stages of healing during a season that should have felt unbearable, proving that the miracle of Jesus entering a messy world still heals marriages today. They offer encouragement for couples who are simply trying to survive the holidays, reminding listeners that they don't have to pretend, they don't have to hide, and they don't have to wait for the new year to see God move. Hope, healing, and restoration can begin right in the middle of the Christmas season. Romans 8:32 — It is instinctive to try to spare loved ones from pain and suffering if at all possible. Yet one reads in Romans 8:32 that God the Father did not spare His Son from suffering; rather the Son was delivered up for unworthy sinners. Can such a statement by the apostle Paul be the apex of the glory of God? Can the truth of Christ's sacrificial death on the cross and the appeasement of the Father's wrath truly be God's most glorious display of His love? This is the argument of Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones in this sermon on Romans 8:32 titled “The Sufferings of Christ.” He meticulously examines each word in this theologically-rich verse by the great apostle. Every word, says Dr. Lloyd-Jones, is of upmost importance in expounding the wondrous truth of God's grace in this text. Dr. Lloyd-Jones not only makes a case for the Father graciously giving up His Son for the salvation of sinners, but he sheds light on the true agony and grief Christ felt in His sufferings. While some want to minimize Christ's cry of dereliction, Dr. Lloyd-Jones proclaims the glory of God in the suffering of the Son. Gospel Luke 1:26-38 The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin's name was Mary. And coming to her, he said, "Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you." But she was greatly troubled at what was said and pondered what sort of greeting this might be. Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of Davidhis father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his Kingdom there will be no end." But Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I have no relations with a man?" And the angel said to her in reply, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. And behold, Elizabeth, your relative, has also conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren; for nothing will be impossible for God." Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." Then the angel departed from her. Reflection When the angel Gabriel tells Mary that she is to be the mother of the Messiah, he also reveals another special birth. Elizabeth, her cousin, who is way past the time of being able to have a child, is also pregnant, and this child will be named John. It is important to note that John is the necessary link, the transition, the liminal space through which the world will understand fully the corruption of the old, and the beauty and the dignity and the value of the new. Closing Prayer Father, there's a continual work, a continual transformation from religion that has a power over us and a spirit that can enter into us and infuse us with the gifts that we're here to share with one another. Bless us in this continual transition. Never let us get lazy. Let us not fall back to what is simple and easy. Let us continue to work with this great mystery. And we ask this in Jesus' name, Amen. Jesus is our peace, and Scripture shows why His peace is unlike anything the world can offer. God is not the author of confusion but of peace, and Jesus gives us a gift of peace for our minds and hearts, calling us not to be troubled or afraid. Jesus Himself is perfectly at peace with the Father, and through faith we have peace with God. Even in discipline God produces a peaceful harvest in those He trains. Christ sits at the right hand of the Father, and we are called to set our minds on the realities of heaven. The greatest way for us to walk in lasting peace is to keep our trust and thoughts fixed on God, for He promises to keep in perfect peace all who look to Him.

https://wels2.blob.core.windows.net/daily-devotions/20251208dev.mp3 Listen to Devotion In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Matthew 3:1-2 Something Has Got to Change Something has got to change. Have you ever thought that? You might have thought that about your marriage or your relationship with your kids. You probably have thought that about your job or a working relationship with a coworker. At some point in your life, you have probably said that about something going on in government. Something has got to change. I would suspect, however, that when we’ve had this thought, often, we think this change should happen in someone else. Someone else needs to be fixed. Someone else needs to turn things around. After all, wouldn't the world just be better if everyone thought like I do and did things my way? But before we try to change everyone else, it might be helpful if we first look in the mirror and see if there are things about ourselves that need to be changed. That's really the message that God teaches us through the voice of John the Baptizer. If you had to summarize, John’s whole message, it would be this: repent. Repentance has two parts: 1) to acknowledge shortcomings, failures, and guilt, and then 2) to turn to Jesus and find forgiveness. You and I can’t change the hearts of other people. But God can and does change our hearts! Through the voice of John, God is calling for you and for me to look at our own lives and be honest about where we fall short, where we have done wrong, not just against others but against God. But in that call to repentance, God beckons us to lift our eyes to see the Savior who has forgiven us of our faults! That’s what Jesus has done for you! You don’t have to live in shame or fear for your faults. No, Jesus has paid for them with his sacrifice! Recognize your guilt but turn to Jesus and find that peace of forgiveness! Prayer: Dear God, I am broken and am truly sorry for my sin. Thank you for sending me my Savior who loves me and forgives me. Continue to help me daily repent and see the peace which Jesus brings. Authentic ministry starts with a servant’s mindset, and Christians searching for purpose will find it in action—zeal for good works is a mark of discipleship, not a pastoral job description. John 12:26 frames service as the pathway to honor from the Father, reminding believers that following Christ means stepping into everyday ministry, wherever life places your feet. Highlights Ministry simply means “to serve,” and every follower of Christ is called into it. Jesus modeled servant leadership as the Servant King—service is imitation before function. The call isn’t to become a pastor, but to live like Jesus. Daily surrender (“die daily”) is less dramatic and more incremental—small yeses, repeated. Excuses shrink when identity grows: you serve because you are His, not to become enough. Service is worship when done in the Spirit’s power, not self-reliant hustle mode. Zealous good works expand your reach for God’s Kingdom—overflow comes after outpour. Gift Inspiration: Crosswalk's Holiday Gift Guide Looking for a meaningful way to celebrate the season? Full Transcript Below: Zealous for Good Works By: Emily Rose Massey Bible Reading: “If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him” (John 12:26, ESV). “Ministry” is from the Greek word diakoneo, meaning “to serve.” At my church, our elders believe that every member of God’s Church is a minister, so obviously that would mean that every believer is called to serve- serve Jesus and serve His Body. Jesus was the servant of all. In fact, He was the Servant King. Christ shares in the gospel of John the importance of serving and following Him as He serves others. “If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him” (John 12:26, ESV). Jesus asks us as Christians to lay our lives down continually, denying our wants and desires, or as the Apostle Paul said to do, “die daily” (1 Corinthians 15:31). Do we know how to do that? Intersecting Life & Faith: It is human nature to seek after what our hearts and flesh crave, but we do not have to give in to that kind of nature, for we have a new nature in Christ Jesus (Colossians 3:10, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 4:24). Some people have wrong thoughts about God and service, perhaps believing their service doesn’t matter because others have it taken care of. Or perhaps they see pastors as the ones who are qualified for service and ministry, so they don’t need to join in. But we are all priests to our God (1 Peter 2:9)! When we put our hands to the plow, so to speak, in ministry, we are worshiping God. Those who are saved by Christ will eagerly and joyfully serve Christ and His people. We have been clothed in Christ’s righteousness to match Him and follow Him. What clothes are you wearing- the world’s or Christ’s? No matter the excuse or wrong thinking regarding ministry and service, we can ask God to help us see the importance of serving the Lord and others. The Holy Spirit empowers us to set aside our selfishness and learn how to be selfless like Jesus, preferring others above ourselves. That kind of lifestyle starts in the mind, in the way we think, as we learn to think of ourselves less and look for ways to put others first. The Lord promises that the Father will honor the one who serves Christ by serving His people. As we learn to prefer others above ourselves, the Lord fills us with His love to the overflow to reach more people for His Kingdom. He will give us zeal for ministry. God is selfless, humble, gracious, and merciful, and as His children, He asks us to follow His example. We cannot do that in our own strength. The Holy Spirit will empower you, and with His grace, to be able to deny your own desires and selfish ambitions. We need God’s help to prefer others above ourselves. God’s Word transforms our minds so that we can learn how to think less of ourselves and seek to serve God and His people. Let us ask God to help us value the call to serve so we can look more like Him, ministering to whoever He puts in front of our path. In this message we look at one of the most beautiful portraits of Jesus' compassion in the Gospels. In Matthew 8:1–17, the Messiah reaches down to restore the rejected members of society: a leper no one would touch, a Gentile Roman centurion everyone despised, and a woman often overlooked in that culture. Jesus breaks every social barrier, every cultural taboo, and every religious expectation to show that the King's heart is for the lowest and the forgotten. This is a powerful reminder that no one is beyond His reach, His grace, or His restoring touch.

This sermon emphasizes that true peace cannot be earned through our own goodness or religious effort but is found only in Jesus, the promised Prince of Peace. Using Simeon's encounter with the infant Jesus in Luke 2, Pastor Mike highlights that real peace comes from knowing Christ personally—not from behavior, circumstances, or self-justification. Jesus brings peace for our past through forgiveness, peace in our present through His presence in life's storms, and peace for our future through the assurance of eternal life. The message concludes by urging believers to seek God first, pray continually, and trust Him in order to walk in His lasting peace.

Together, we unpack the heart of Trueface's “outcomes of spiritual growth” framework and ask the deeper questions: What are we actually aiming for? How do we know if discipleship is working? And why does love—not knowledge, effort, or productivity—always reveal true maturity? We reflect on our own stories, the pastors we've met, and the countless conversations that led us to a simple but disruptive conviction: discipleship is the process of growing in love of God and others. From understanding our view of God, to maturing in authentic relationships, to overflowing love into the world—this episode invites us to breathe, slow down, and step into the long, patient work of becoming whole disciples. If you've ever felt behind, confused, or weighed down by the pressure to “get discipleship right,” this conversation will give you hope, clarity, and a fresh vision of the life Jesus makes possible.Support the show

1 Peter 2:25 (NKJV)For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. This is one of those verses I write in my journal every time I come to it. There's a peace that settles over me when I am reminded He is the Shepherd and Overseer of my soul.I talked about my ER visit in the episode "Bright Spots," but when I came to this verse, I noticed even more of the ways God had been caring for me. I also tell the story of the perfectly-timed letter. It was one of those unmistakable reminders of God's kindness and how He often shepherds us through the timely obedience of others. We'll look briefly at the simple needs of sheep (including their daily need for water) and how it points us back to Jesus' invitation to come to Him for living water. Maybe you're like me and need those reminders again and again.I'll end with the song, “Where He Restores.”If you would like to support this podcast with a monthly or one-time gift, thank you!https://www.sherriyoungward.com/supportTo find out about upcoming gatherings and new projects, please join my email list at www.sherriyoungward.com

This week in our Advent series, we look at the peace God offers in a world that feels increasingly anxious, hurried, and loud. From Isaiah's promise of “perfect peace” to Jesus' words in the upper room, we're reminded that peace isn't something we achieve—it's Someone we receive. As we fix our minds on the Rock eternal and lean into the presence of Jesus, we discover a peace strong enough to hold us steady in every season.Catch the sermon on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or bridge.tv/sermons.To support this ministry and help us continue our God given mission, click here: http://bit.ly/2NZkdrC Support the show
