We hold these Monthly Virtual Interactive Conferences so that we can engage with our listeners locally, nationally and internationally and encourage them to join the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement. We also want to raise funds for our film project "Hood Liberator Made In Chicago: The War Against Willie Lynch Begins" This film project is my last attempt to try to do something positive for my racial group Black Americans who identify as (DAS-FM) Descendants of American Slaves/Freedmen. We host our Monthly Virtual Interactive Conference on the last Saturday of the month. We're trying to raise $250 thousand dollars so that we can make a quality Black Empowerment Film based on my experience growing up in the inner cities of Chicago and having to endure all kinds of push back from Black Chicago for trying to get my Black Christian business up and running in the Black Community. "Sports is not the only way for us to get through some of our problems, but it is a vehicle." Through interviews and relationships with iconic figures including Magic Johnson, Don King, Al Davis, and Jim Brown, Stein witnessed how sports intersect with business, politics, culture, and community leadership. Working within the proud tradition of the Black Press, he came to understand that sports journalism is more than reporting scores or headlines—it's about ensuring Black people tell Black stories with the depth, context, and humanity they deserve. Stein explains that authentic storytelling preserves history, challenges incomplete narratives, and inspires future generations. Returning home to Detroit with a national perspective, he dedicated himself to documenting the people, institutions, and cultural legacy that continue to define the city, making this episode a powerful reminder that the Black Press is not simply a record of events but a living archive of our voices, our victories, and our vision for the future. Trump has been doing his best to bypass Congress and the courts whenever he can. In this episode, we take stock of how far Trump has gone to consolidate power in the executive branch. In a recent example of executive power expanding, SCOTUS granted the president the right to fire independent Federal commissioners. Trump then removed ALL the board members of the Election Assistance Committee, an independent committee established by Congress to assist States during election time. 18-year-old Nolan Wells was found dead after going missing while boating off the coast of Mississippi with a group of all-white friends. Nolan is Black, mixed race. In a county that is 66% white, 19% Black, the white sheriff was quick to close the investigation into Nolan’s death and say there was no wrongdoing. The mother of one of the boys involved is a local judge, and she was quick to get on social media and echo the sheriff’s statement. We’re not saying there was foul play. We are saying that the rush to claim ‘no foul play’ breeds mistrust in a racially sensitive case. Our hearts go out to the Wells family in their quest for answers. Newly published research at Georgia State University found that rental properties in historically Black, lower-income neighborhoods are mostly locally owned by absentee landlords in whiter, more affluent neighborhoods. But the rental properties in those more affluent neighborhoods are largely owned by landlords outside of the region and even the state of Georgia. Taylor Shelton, is an associate professor in the department of geosciences and Ryan Pardue, is a doctoral student in the Urban Studies Institute at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies.
