This episode we interview sisters country-pop duo WildfireAbout Wildfire:The best singers draw from experience. And that’s true for young as well aswell-seasoned artists.Though still in their mid teens, sisters Kelli and Kayla Iutzwig, a.k.a. WildFire, prove this point at show after show, in song after song. Their self-titled, debut EP Wild Fire confirms that their future is bright. Theirsophomore EP Been There., confirms that this future is now, with asoundtrack that’sinfectious, fun and impossible to resist.More than that, they are already conveying their stories through music inways that inspire with audiences their age and beyond. Singly and inharmony, they channel the optimism of youth, sprinkle in the spice of earlyinsight into life’s lessons, super-charge it with jolt of pop and the sass ofcountry. No wonder Linda Wilson, President of the Texas Country Music Association, describes them as “one of the best up-and-coming young artist duosout there.” And following their live appearance on “Great Day Houston” in March 2019, KHOU-TV proclaimed, “Wild Fire are setting the musicworld ablaze.” In fact, KHOU-TV “Great Day Houston” invited Wild Fire back on the show in 2020.This fire was kindled in Houston, where their parents spotted Kelli’s and Kayla’s talent when they were barely old enough to sing along to TaylorSwift, Carrie Underwood, Sam Hunt, FGL and other radio favorites. When each girl was 6 years old she began studying with celebrated vocalcoach Pamela Moore. Both also learned to play guitar, with Kelli doubling on drums. They took to songwriting quickly and naturally and learnedhow to transfertheir energy and creativity to numerous live theater and dance productions. After launching Wild Fire in 2016, they’ve wowed audiences at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, NRG Stadium, NRG Arena, KemahBoardwalk, Firehouse Saloon, Dosey Doe, Liberty Opry, Sugarland Opry and the University of Houston Stadium, among many other venues. Theyreached the semifinals of Houston Rodeo’s Rodeo Rockstar competition in 2016 — and soared to the finals in ’17. That same year they made thefinal round of the Huntsville Superstar competition in Huntsville, Texas. Then, in 2018, they took first prize as Female Vocalist of the Year in theYoung Adult category at the Josie Music Awards, held at the Celebrity Theater inside Dolly Parton’s Dollywood theme park. In 2019, Wild Fire hadseveral of their originalsongs placed in NBC's "Very Cavallari" reality TV show. With over 119,000 followers on Facebook and Instagram, plus many more on other social media, Wild Fire will widen their impact beyond musicin 2020 as official ambassadors for the Global Country Music Association (GCMA) and advocates for equality and fairness for the genre’s femaleartists.#interviews #celebrityinterviews #countrymusic #popmusic #podcast #musicpodcast #behindthemusic #wildfire #houston #texas

The answer is Venus DeMilo, actress. “I’ve been in front of the camera since I was four,” laughs Venus, “so even before I became a filmmaker, I was ableto study the craft very closely. “After starring in the Nickelodeon series, “Salute Your Shorts,” Venus moved onto recurring roles on shows including “The Bold & the Beautiful”, “Family Matters”, “My So-Called Life”, and“Sister, Sister”. She was featured in the hit film “Life”, starring Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence. It was while attending Loyola Marymount University and concurrently working at the family owned Thomas Talent Agency that Venus began to contemplate stepping behind the camera. Afilm production major with a minor in Africana studies, Venus felt that becoming a Trailer Producer and writing were natural extensions of her interest in acting. “Being in this business and assisting my mother at the The Thomas Talent Agency, “she explains, “I began to understand everyaspect of filmmaking. I started breaking down the scripts I was given, analyzing the directors’ stylistic choices on the set.” The result of her studies is her acclaimed short film “Did I Wake You?”, and acting as Digital Intermediate Producer for “Machine Gun Preacher”. Her short “Did IWake You?” (Sundance 2001) is an ambitious unflinching look at the lives of African-American teenagers, the success of this film convinced Venus she was moving in the right direction. As a trailer producer “Working with directors like Michael Bay, JJ Abrams, and Gore Verbinski’ was wonderful,”she says, “because I experienced for the first time the full power of storytelling, of crafting words and images into something meaningful. It hooked me.” Now with both her acting and directing/producing careers infull swing, and with the experience of working at The Thomas Talent Agency, Venus prepares to combine these talents with the direction of her next short film. But can she handle the demands of both acting anddirecting? “I’m the kind of person who isn’t happy doing one thing,” laughs Venus.

A multi-award-winning writer, director, producer who founded Church Hill Productions, Churchill was born in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, raised in Queens, New York. Churchill was a runner up for a film entitled, The Champ. Although the part went to actor Rick Schroeder, this did not discourage Churchill. It was his sophomore year in High School when he convinced his father to buy him a full-sized VHS video camera so he could make his vision come to life. The War Master, a film about two teenage cops fighting the drug problem in their neighborhood went on to win several local awards. Churchill convinced a few local video stores to carry his films as rentals to the neighborhood. Several newspapers The New York Daily News, New York Newsday, The Ridgewood Times and The Queens Tribune carried stories on Churchill. He went on to write/produce and direct other neighborhood films such as; Intrigue: The War Master (1989, a follow-up and another award-winning film), The Fear of Pain (1990, his first-ever Horror film), Emerging Past (1991 concept version) and A Distant Society (1994, his first Drama) These films taught him how to tell a story and most of all how to start something and finish it. Churchill would test his skills once again with another version of The War Master. This was the biggest budget of all the so-called neighborhood films. A System Devoured aka Devoured put Churchill through the test of being creative utilizing a very low budget. He entered it in the New York City Independent International Film Festival and won Best Video in 1999. Besides, millions of viewers tuned in to watch Churchill on The SyFy Network’s Monster Man, a reality show that showcased Churchill in episode #2 titled - The Forbidden Werewolf.
