Today, Amy Keith, DoTerra Wellness Advocate, joins me on the podcast and we have a wonderful conversation about all things essential oils. Amy is a teacher who has found a passion for not only teaching kids in the daytime, but also educating adults about how to use essential oils to support their health and daily wellness. From the very first conversation I had with Amy about essential oils, her passion it was clear to me, and that she was the perfect person to help break down the foundational information around understanding essential oils.  I would imagine you have heard about oils and likely even used them at this point, but, if you are like me, you are iffy on how to use them more than just sporadically in my diffuser.  Amy tells us all the ways to use them safely and does a phenomenal explaining the importance of understanding where your oils have come from and why you need to use quality oils. She shares about how, in her own life, she has moved to using her oils preventively to help support her stress levels and health. I have been inspired to use my oils more in my daily life as well after this awesome conversation. As you listen, I hope you are inspired to learn more about how to use oils in your own life. Amy reminds us that its just start with understanding just one oil, getting comfortable with that, and then adding another. Please like and share this episode with your friends and let's help spread awareness about this incredible way to naturally support your body and health. Spring is in full swing, and time for another episode in the mini-series called Renew for Resilience. We're talking about topics in your everyday life with the idea that if you and I consider this spring how we can renew these areas, we could boost our resilience to whatever may come our way. Because we'd be more prepared, strong, buoyant, durable, feisty, and quick to recover in this crazy, demanding world. Many don't realize it, but some of the things we do to make our home cozy and clean, like candles, air fresheners, and cleaners are taxing our bodies way more than ever before, contributing to fatigue, mental fog, and sleep problems. Today's gal pal has some simple ideas to diminish the home toxins that can help boost your resilience. To better understand how to lighten our home's toxic load, I've invited my gal pal Amy Fowler to the podcast. Amy is the founder of Lamplight Living and doTerra Wellness Advocate. I've known Amy for several years and when we would talk, she would ask me how I'm doing and mean it. She really wanted to know! And, so often she'd respond with a practical, natural remedy to try. She works with people who are ready to start Restoring Inner Peace (R.I.P.). She helps them to release fears and build confidence as they embrace their empowered life. She is also the author of the upcoming book, R.I.P.- Restoring Inner Peace: A Young Widow's Story of Being Transformed by Love. This book contains Allison's personal story of Restoring Inner Peace (R.I.P.) as part of her grief journey after the death of her husband in February 2016. When a loved one dies we wish for them to Rest In Peace (R.I.P.), but as survivors we rarely allow ourselves to do the same. She believes that love connections imprint our souls forever and she moves forward with acceptance of what is. Allison made the choice to grant herself permission to choose love over fear allowing herself to be Transformed by Love. This decision has created a life she would have never dreamed of after the death of her husband. To honour his legacy she practices releasing fears and embracing empowered action knowing that her husband's wish for her would be the same as hers for him...R.I.P. Essential oils seem to be everywhere: on every label + in every commercial. It is because they have extraordinary power to shift both your mind and body into a state of well-being. But how do you tell the real stuff from imposters? And does that even matter? As it turns out... it matters A LOT! In this episode, Roxanne Foura explains what you really need to know about using essential oils and how to choose the products and oils that help you merge with your best self. Roxanne Foura, BA, LMT, doTERRA Wellness Advocate has worked in the complementary alternative world for 18 years as a massage therapist, holistic practitioner, public speaker and instructor for doTERRA Essential Oils. Roxanne is a mother of a 15-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter. Roxanne is an avid skier, traveler, reader, and writer. She has been fortunate in this life to piece-meal her passions to create a peaceful, sustainable career in the holistic world. Providing tools and education to those seeking options and methods to improve wellness approaches to life. I met Roxanne when she was teaching a workshop on essential oils and emotions at my yoga studio. I fell in love with her scientific knowledge of each oil individually. She explained the chemical composition as it related to the way that it functioned, either in our bodies or in our environments. I am always on a mission to uncover the intricacies of our biology as it relates to how we think and feel, within ourselves and our larger environment. During the early days of the pandemic, when the world was in lock-down, I spent many evenings on my phone as Roxanne described, from her basement office, the composition and benefits of each essential oil-and oil blend- offered by doTerra in her private Facebook Group. I thought that I knew so much about essential oils until Roxanne entered my world and I realized that I had hardly scratched the surface. Despite what the pharmaceutical industry wants you to believe: health is our natural state of being. Nature offers us symbiotic support to heal how we feel, both emotionally and physically. It is up to us to tap in. But like so many other things, knowing where to start can be overwhelming. You will learn big words, like "PHARMACOGNOSY." And you will understand why Roxanne is a wealth of practical information and insight. In this episode, we touch on everything from the "green-washing" of common household products to the effects of chemical toxins in beauty and cleaning products to the simple, inexpensive ways to begin your essential oil journey. Tune in to discover: How the average mom, who does everything, can begin to convert a household to a non-toxic environment What "green-washing" means What to look for on labels that advertise essential oils Why the quality of an oil matters How household toxins affect hormones in ourselves and children What are simple, daily ways to implement essential oils into life to reduce toxic overload How you can get in touch with Roxanne for a 1:1 consultation To access all of the things discussed in this episode go to: https://www.inhereyespodcast.com/episode28

After fleeing from an abusive marriage, Rebecca Davison found herself using alcohol as a way to cope with her PTSD. She explains, “if I had a bad day, I would have an extra drink, I was very much a gray area drinker, but I didn't like being drunk, it made me scared and anxious.”  Because of her support system and healthy childhood, Rebecca rationalized her drinking. She hadn't hit that  “rock bottom.” She hadn't reached the depths of what she perceived an alcoholic “should.” It wasn't until she had a psychotic episode with a boyfriend where she finally came to the understanding that drinking and PTSD was dictating her life.  Through studying and research, Rebecca came to find Yoga Nidra and Essential Oils as her saving grace. In the practice of Yoga Nidra, it helps soothe the vagus nerve, which is essentially our flight or freeze response that may have been altered or skewed due to the trauma we've experienced. Additionally reducing emotional reactivity and increasing self-regulation, the benefits of Yoga Nidra and essential oils are deeply healing on a cellular and emotional level. Once Rebecca came to understand the healing benefits of these properties, the more she separated herself from her PTSD, where she began helping others heal from their own trauma.  “Taking care of yourself and choosing to thrive is a revolutionary act despite all of the oppression and suffering in the world.” Rebecca Davidson is an artist and yoga and meditation practitioner and teacher with over 20 years of experience as a student and eight as a teacher. She specializes in yoga nidra, restorative, tantra, and other spiritually-based practices such as mantra, pranayama, and meditation. Rebecca is also a doTERRA Wellness Advocate, an intuitive tarot and oracle reader, and is currently pursuing her MFA in Painting at the Savannah College of Art & Design. When she is not practicing, teaching, making art, or helping others transform/heal, Rebecca is probably drinking black coffee and listening to music or a podcast. She is a tree-hugging, crystal-collecting, essential oil wearing, animal loving, sober vegan. How She Went from Nursing to Network Marketing (And WHY!)Forget everything you know about network marketing and listen to this interview with Megan Hunter, a doTERRA Wellness Advocate, who has been building a thriving business for nearly a decade.About Megan HunterRN and Diamond doTERRA Wellness AdvocateMegan Hunter used to be skeptical about network marketing. It is not the type of business she ever pictured herself doing, especially after training nearly five years to become a nurse. But with bills piling up, a house full of kids to care for, and a desire to have a flexible work schedule, she started to wonder if she could make money selling doTERRA essential oils instead of doing shift work at the hospital. And more importantly, she wondered if she could be as proud of this type of business as she is of her nursing career.Nearly a decade later, Megan is proud of her business, for sure, but she is even more excited about what she and her husband (my brother) have accomplished together--financial stability, a healthier lifestyle, residual income that continues to grow, and a way to help people on a daily basis. How to Be Successful in Network MarketingIn spite of her success, Megan is quick to point out that network marketing is not for everyone. To be successful, she says you need the following:1. A Product That Sells Itself. Though you can be successful selling a variety of products, Megan prefers consumable items that generate repeat business because that is how you generate residual income over time. "I am still paid on that class I did that was two hours away five years ago," for example.2. Authenticity. Although Megan truly loves the products she sells, she recognizes that they might not be a fit for everyone. And that's okay. Like her job as a nurse, her goal is to help people with the tools and resources she has available. For some, that means recommending a product. For a select few, that means a chance to become a business partner. But to all, Megan offers love and friendship.3. Perseverance. Megan recognized that building a successful book of business would require long-term effort. Thankfully, she is no stranger to hard work. She has noticed that the people who do well in her line of work are accustomed to setting goals and working hard to achieve them with consistent and persistent effort. it took her nearly five years to become a nurse. She applied that same level of dedication to become finding success at doTERRA.Lastly, Megan encourages anyone considering network marketing to research the products and the company. She says, "I probably wouldn't have had the same experience if I chose something else to sell."What You'll Learn in this EpisodeHow Megan transitioned into network marketing and whyWhat she says you need to be successful in network marketingWhy she loves doTERRA and how she made peace with starting a businessHow networking marketing is like missionary workMost Importantly: How Megan has seen the Lord’s hand in her careerMentioned in this InterviewEpisode 6: Finding Your Calling in Life - Listen to this interview with Jeffery Thompson where we talk about whether you have a job, a career, or a calling.doTERRA Inspiring Wellness - Work with Megan and learn more about the products she loves.

For many years I have been a passionate advocate of network marketing and later online marketing. Why should you become a Doterra consultant? There are various reason why Doterra is a great opportunity. I would argue that Doterra has a simple marketing plan and great products. For others it could be that they love of the oils, but they want to make some extra money. I think the main reason for joining Doterra is because it is very affordable business. Also, you can earn a passive income for years into the future. It is easy to sham network marketing as a business model, but success is really possible for those who take serious action. This results in many consultants being so successful that they see the traditional employment as underwhelming and soul destroying.
