We draw comparisons to Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children as we pass through The Singularity, the Whisper Harbinger blows our minds, a showdown with Sephiroth takes us into outer space, and Square Enix rapidly completes its checklist of obligatory series-defining moments. This episode begins at passing through The Singularity and ends after the scene at the Edge of Creation.
In this episode, Tom, Mike Toole, and I review Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children -- quite possibly the Greatest Movie EVER?
Palworld, the game that's accurately been described as “Pokémon with guns” has been a punchline since its announcement in 2021. However, within three days of its January 18th release, it sold 5 million copies and became the #1 game on Twitch. With its derivative yet winning formula and plagiarized-ish art style, could this little game from an unknown Japanese indie studio become the superhit of the year? We'll also be discussing how Microsoft is once again being criticized for the appearance of ads on the Xbox dashboard, how Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is heading back to US theaters ahead of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's release, and how the Florida Joker is demanding that Rockstar Games let him voice the character based on his likeness in Grand Theft Auto 6.Finally, class is in session with Professor Ryebread in our Gaming History 101 segment. Daarnaast checken we trailers van Kung Fu Panda 4, Godspeed, Marvel What If...? Season 2 en natuurlijk Dune Part Two! ------ Spotify ► https://spoti.fi/2qhR6lr Apple Podcast ► https://apple.co/3GzfqqD Twitter ► https://www.twitter.com/NerdCulturePC Instagram ► https://www.instagram.com/NerdCulture.PC Jelle ► https://www.twitter.com/GKJelle Huey ► https://www.twitter.com/RealHueyBrown Koos ► https://www.twitter.com/jtmooten Outro by Studio Megaane

A controversial continuation of a beloved game, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children has been summoned for today's podcast episode. Two years after Meteorfall destroyed Midgar, Cloud Strife and Tifa Lockhart have built a new life in the city of Edge. Humanity faces a new crisis in the form of geostigma, a dangerous disease seemingly carried by the Lifestream itself. Burdened by this illness and his own grief, Cloud has become distant from his friends. A trio of silver-haired youths arrive at Edge in search of their lost "mother." Our heroes quickly deduce that this so-called Reunion will lead to the resurrection of the villainous Sephiroth. AVALANCHE must return to battle in order to stop this apocalyptical plot, while Cloud will have to find the resolve to face his nemesis once again. Things are...much more complicated than this simple blurb can convey. We can't promise that everything will make sense on today's installment of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake, but everything will definitely look (or sound) cool! This week's Homie Check-in is a particularly hard one to hear and I'm placing a trigger warning here: this episode contains a story about suicide. I'll be discussing the grief and guilt that may come from losing a loved one and how I've tried to heal for the past six years. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is used as the springboard for this conversation and I sincerely hope you all check out the film whether you've played FFVII or not. Can Elz The Witch, Joe Ikhinmwin and Clarisse Loughery convince Jack Howard that their favourite video game adaptation is the best?Joe thinks the 1995 version of Mortal Kombat deserves a flawless victory because its a huge nostalgia trip and has even influenced the games, Elz thinks Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is the best because it hits you right in the feels and Clarisse will fight anyone just for the chance to hug that cute little fur ball Pikachu. Welcome to the place where I get to let my geek flag fly and talk about all things geek. Basically a fuzzy guide to life, the universe, and everything but mostly geek stuff. This is where I look into the world of geekdom and some geek news, comics, The Simpsons, Star Wars, and whatever randomness finds its way onto the recording. This level of the podcast is completely inspired by the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie and my ruminations about the quality (or lack there of) of video game adaptations. Thankfully Mr. Deuce, Blue, and Cory agreed to join me to SPOILER chat all about a bunch of movies which include: Super Mario Bros. (1993) / Double Dragon (1994) / Street Fighter (1994) / Mortal Kombat (1995) / Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997) / Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001) / Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) / Resident Evil (2002) / House of the Dead (2003) / Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (2005) / Doom (2005) / Silent Hill (2006) / Hitman (2007) / Max Payne (2008) / Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li (2009) / Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010) / Ace Attorney (2012) / The Angry Birds Movie (2016) / Warcraft (2016) / Assassins Creed (2016) / Castlevania (2017-S4) / Rampage (2018) / Detective Pikachu (2019) / Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) / Monster Hunter (2020) / Mortal Kombat (2021) We also chat future video game movies content: Werewolves Within (June 2021) / Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (Nov 2021) / Uncharted (Feb 2022) / Sonic 2 (Apr 2022) / TBA: The Last of Us, Borderlands, Mario film, Pikachu sequel, Five Nights at Freddys, Crossfire, Ghost of Tsushima, Just Cause, Mega Man, Minecraft, Metal Gear Solid, Space Invaders, Tomb Raider 2, and Saints Row NOTE: This is a SPOILER heavy episode especially at the 1:39:30 mark where we do Mortal Kombat (2021) SPOILERS Congrats on completing Level 242 of the podcast! Guns. Explosions. Witty One-Liners. It’s time to put action movies through The Screen Test!Joe, Clarisse and BBC Radio 1’s film critic Ali Plumb are facing off to convince Jack why their movie is the best. Clarisse says Mad Max: Fury Road is such a masterpiece that she cried when she first saw it, Ali thinks there’s no better action movie star than Keanu Reeves so John Wick is the obvious choice and Joe reckons The Raid 2 is so good, every other franchise has stolen ideas from it. What film gets your vote?Next week, we're joined by YouTuber and gamer Elz The Witch to decide the best video game adaptation of all time. Will it be a flawless victory for Mortal Kombat or will Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and Detective Pickahu level up to be crowned the winner?Subscribe so you don't miss it and if you like this podcast, why not leave us a review! The views and opinions expressed in the show are the contributors’ and do not necessarily reflect the position of Prime Video.Get More Prime Video: FacebookTwitterInstagramAbout Prime Video:Want to watch it now? We also talk about Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Sanka Coffee, when musical group members go solo, Daisuke Gori again, and how to define what a gun is.Rate us nicely on Apple Podcasts Support us on Patreon Follow us on Twitter
Oh, you know, no big deals to talk about with this show, nothing super monumental to discuss, nothing like that. Except freaking MACROSS. That might just be a tad bit substantial. And in our last rundown show before discussion the spring season, we have plenty to get into, be it hilarious gacha game incompetence, reasons why you should spend $10 to have the Dub Talk crew do an episode on Vampire Knight, why Kazuki Akane deserves to have Stars Align be completed, and how we all found out that Dragon Quest is getting an English dub through the weirdest way possible. And let us all pour one out for the glory and weirdness that was Manga UK, now rebranded as Funimation UK via big business consolidation – we’ll always have those jank dubs and bargain bin OVAs to look back on as… times. Welcome everyone to Animezingly Baka, the amazingly stupid podcast all about anime, where a couple of friends talk about anime, why they love it, and why anime is anything but stupid! So put a tie on your hen, strap in, and enjoy the weird ride that is Animezingly Baka! The main topic of this week's episode is Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi - The World's Greatest First Love, a boys love series that is far from the world's greatest first love, unless you're a fan of sexual assault and rape. Anyway, something-something problematic and enigmatic, cheers and enjoy the anime-zing(ly cultural) show. Topics/Anime Discussed: Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi - The World's Greatest First Love, Akudama Drive, Jujutsu Kaisen, Fire Force, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc, Titanic (seriously), and more.
We're back with a brand-new episode and a brand-new season! Pick up your Buster Sword and fire up your nostalgia, because in this episode, Ken of the Ongaku To You podcast joins me to discuss Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children!
It's a short but sweet episode this week as we cover a few pieces of news, including the passing of beloved actor Ian Holm, best known for his definitive portrayal of Bilbo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. We also break down another ‘Not-E3 2020 event' as EA gave one of their worst, least substantive press conferences ever, and rant about American movie theatres wildly irresponsible move to reopen in the midst of a pandemic. Jonathan gives a quick update on his One Piece progress, and Sean talks about the horrors of watching Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. And finally, we give some spoiler-free impressions of Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part II, one of the year's most anticipated games, ahead of our full spoiler review next week. Despite having fifteen numbered games, 135 million copies of the various games sold, and well over 40 different sequels, spin-offs, and other properties, the game acquired its moniker in 1987 due to the game designers' belief that Square was going to go bankrupt ([according to Nobuo Uematsu](https://www.wired.com/2009/07/final-fantasy/), composer of many famous _Final Fantasy_ tracks). Though most of the numbered games are stand-alone stories in different settings with different characters, there are many recurring plot themes, game mechanics, and character names (e.g. Plots center on a group of heroes battling a great evil while exploring the characters' internal struggles and relationships). **Search Data:** The Final Fantasy series has had a dramatic [decrease in interest since 2004](https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=%2Fm%2F02ywx,%2Fm%2F0dvzv). YOUR SOUL IS MINE!

I was at Best Buy to buy Scribblenauts for $19.99 and had it in my hand when I started browsing through the Blu-ray section. I saw Ghost in the Shell 2.0 and was surprised to find that it too was only $19.99. After I thought about it for a little bit, I decided to put Scribblenauts back. At checkout, I was pleasantly delighted to find out that GITS was on sale for $13.99. Upon further investigation online, I discovered that Best Buy is having a "Massive Blu-ray Sale". As far as anime, there are 44 Blu-ray titles in the sale (I say 44 but I think that is every anime title currently ou on Blu-ray). Here is a small sample of the sale: For $13.99 each: Afro Samurai Season 1, Blood The Last Vampire (movie), Kitaro (live action) Final Fantasy VII Advent Children: $20.99 One Piece Movie #8: $12.59 Akira: $24.49 Dragonball Z (6 different titles): $17.49 each Samurai 7 (Complete Series), Tsubasa Season 1: $34.99 Tekkonkinkreet: $19.59 Click on the link below to go to the anime title sale page: Best Buy Massive Blu-ray Sale

The series is about a tenth as popular as it was back in 2004. There are spikes in interest in September 2005 (The release of _Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children_), March 2010 (_Final Fantasy XIII_), and December 2016 (_Final Fantasy XV_). [// Why is that?
