Stefano has worked with such musicians as Gato Barbieri, Chick Corea, Bill Frisell, Sol Gabetta, Richard Galliano, Egberto Gismonti, Lee Konitz, Bobby McFerrin, Pat Metheny, Caetano Veloso, Phil Woods, Hector Zazou and has recorded more than 15 albums with trumpeter Enrico Rava. Bollani has performed with several symphonic orchestras (Filarmonica della Scala, Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, among others) and with directors such as Riccardo Chailly, Daniel Harding, Kristjan Järvi, Zubin Mehta, Gianandrea Noseda and Antonio Pappano. He has also played with Italian pop-rock artists and has participated in and hosted TV and radio shows. Currently, he has published 49 albums alone (31 studio). Es ist erst seine zweite Spielzeit als Musikchef am Zürcher Opernhaus, aber bereits jetzt klingt das Orchester anders als noch vor Gianandrea Noseda: frisch und feurig. Davon profitiert auch der neue «Ring»: Wagners Opern-Zyklus zu stemmen, gilt noch immer als grösste aller Herausforderungen. Zunächst habe er abgelehnt, gesteht der 58-jährige Italiener, bis anhin wenig Wagner-willig. The National Symphony Orchestra and its Music Director Gianandrea Noseda are marking the centenary of American composer George Walker by recording his five Sinfonias. Nos 1 and 4 have already been made available on streaming services, and to learn more about Walker and his music, Gramophone's Editor Martin Cullingford met up with Noseda during a recent visit to London.

Pepe Romero is such an artist. He has been honored by kings, heads of state, and major institutions-the encomiums continue to pour in. But to Romero, his most important contribution has been reaching the common man. He has communicated the richness and beauty of the classical guitar to millions of people throughout the world. He has, indeed, become an ambassador of classical music, and, correspondingly, of the classical guitar. But this gift did not just appear out of nowhere. Pepe is the second son of one of the greatest guitarists that ever lived—Celedonio Romero. And he is brother to two more musical phenoms—Celin and Angel Romero. Pepe Romero has premiered works by some of the finest composers of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Joaquín Rodrigo, Federico Moreno Torroba, Lorenzo Palomo, Padre Francisco de Madina, Paul Chihara, Enrique Diemecke, Ernesto Cordero, and, most poignantly, Celedonio Romero, have written compositions for Pepe. Always a champion of music by composers in earlier periods of music history, he has also delved into rare archives to re-explore lost pieces by Fernando Sor, (world premiere and recording of Fantasie in d minor), Mauro Giuliani (world premiere recordings of Concerto no.2 in A major and Concerto no.3 in F major and Variations and Polonaise, Op.65), Francesco Molino (world premier recording of Guitar Concerto in E minor, Op.56), Ferdinando Carulli (world premiere recording of Guitar Concerto in E minor, Op.140), Johann Kaspar Mertz, Luigi Boccherini, (world premiere recording of all 8 guitar quintets) and others. Maestro Romero's many accomplishments include: world premieres of Rodrigo´s Concierto andaluz (with the Romero Guitar Quartet), Concierto madrigal (with Angel Romero), and Concierto para una fiesta (written for Pepe Romero); Federico Moreno Torroba's Diálogos entre guitarra y orquesta (Pepe was personally chosen by Torroba and Andrés Segovia for the world recording premiere of this work dedicated to Segovia with an extended guitar cadenza written especially for Pepe), Concierto Ibérico by Torroba (written for and performed by the Romeros), Concierto en flamenco by Torroba was premiered in Málaga (performed by Pepe with Angel Romero conducting); and Lorenzo Palomo's Concierto de Cienfuegos (with the Romero Quartet) and Nocturnos de Andalucía (both released on the Naxos label). Of the many guitar concertos by his father, Celedonio Romero, Pepe has performed the world premieres of Concierto de Málaga, Fiesta Andaluza and El Cortijo de Don Sancho. Other premieres include Troubadour Music for four guitars and orchestra by Morton Gould, Concierto vasco and Concierto flamenco by Francisco de Madina, Concierto festivo by Ernesto Cordero, Christmas Suite for four guitars and chamber orchestra by Massimo Paris, Concierto a Celedonio by Enrique Diemecke, Concierto Mariachi by Michael Zearott and the guitar concerto, Zareh, by Loris Tjeknavorian. He also revived the great orchestral work Metamorfosi de concert by Xavier Montsalvatge, with Gianandrea Noseda, and premiered as well as recorded the Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra with Trumpet Obbligato by Paul Chihara, with Neville Marriner and the London Symphony. In April 2014 Pepe Romero performed the German premiere in the Berlin Philharmonic of a new work by Lorenzo Palomo – Fulgores - for violin, guitar and orchestra. Pepe Romero has always felt, along with his father and brothers, that the sharing of one's art is a personal responsibility. Mr. Romero has served as Professor of Guitar at the University of Southern California, University of California at San Diego, Southern Methodist University, and the University of San Diego. Every summer at the Celedonio Romero Guitar Institute, currently held at Oklahoma City University, the Romeros conduct an intensive guitar workshop including master classes, private lessons, student concerts and a final concert featuring the students performing with the Romeros. Pepe has conducted master classes at the Salzburg Summer Academy, Córdoba Guitar Festival, and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival. In 2004 he was appointed Distinguished Artist in Residence at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music. His newly revised guitar method “La Guitarra” was published and released by Tuscany Publications in 2012. Currently he is finalizing a teaching video that discloses the principles of the Pepe Romero guitar technique.
Yo-Yo Ma plays the John Williams Cello Concerto with John Devlin conducting the opening night celebration of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra at the Capitol Theater Thursday September 29th at 7:30pm. John Devlin discuses the program of American Stories with Caroline Shaw and a world premiere of Migrations in Rhythm: A Concerto for Beatbox and Rhyme by Evan Meier with Christylez Bacon and a new arrangement of the Star Spangled Banner by Enrico Lopez Yanez. It's a return for Yo-Yo Ma - he first played Wheeling at age 17. There is a reception afterward. John also discusses the season to come with Jim Cunningham and relays a few highlights from his work with Gianandrea Noseda and Christoph Eschenbach at the National Symphony before arriving in Wheeling.

Ai microfoni di Unica Radio ospitiamo la violinista Anna Tifu per raccontare il concerto che sabato 14 maggio la vedrà protagonista al Teatro Doglio di Cagliari insieme al pianista Giuseppe Andaloro. Dopo due anni di assenza dai palcoscenici cagliaritani, torna a esibirsi nel capoluogo sardo la violinista Anna Tifu, protagonista, insieme al pianista Giuseppe Andaloro di un concerto straordinario che si terrà al Teatro Doglio sabato 14 maggio alle ore 21. Il concerto si inserisce nell'ambito della programmazione di Teatro Doglio ed è realizzato con la collaborazione di Compagnia B e del LEI Festival. Tifu e Andaloro sono reduci da un applauditissimo concerto tenutosi a fine marzo nello storico Teatro Regio di Parma. Vincitrice nel 2007 del prestigioso concorso internazionale George Enescu di Bucharest, Anna Tifu è considerata una delle migliori interpreti della sua generazione. All'età di 12 anni, debutta alla Scala di Milano con il Concerto n.1 di Max Bruch. Viene ammessa, all'età di 17 anni, al Curtis Institute di Philadelphia. Following that award, he immediately recorded Chopin's First Piano Concerto and the four Ballades with Gianandrea Noseda and the London Symphony Orchestra. Playing with the same orchestra and conductor, Cho has released his new album, Chopin Piano Concerto No. 2 • Scherzi. Why have you returned to the music of Frédéric Chopin? “I didn't record Chopin's music intentionally for five years, because I didn't want to be labeled as a Chopin specialist. I wanted to explore different composers.” How has your relationship with Chopin changed over the past six years? “It has been the same. I admire and respect his music, because he was very brave to convey so many of his emotions with his audiences. My style of play has changed in the past six years, but my connection with Chopin has not.” What new discoveries did you make about his Second Piano Concerto? “He wrote this piece when he was 20, and at the time he was falling in love. He almost dedicated this piece to her. That it's so romantic, delicate and dramatic. I always try to take an innocent approach rather than a romantic one.” In the first movement, your left hand emphasizes the shifting harmonies and your right hand has the melodic line. How challenging is it to make sure that the right hand doesn't take over? “There's a saying about Chopin's music that we made when we played his music: ‘The left hand should be like a like a tree, and the right has to be the leaves.' Chopin's music, in general, is also very polyphonic. Not only is the right-hand melody important, but the left-hand melodic line or the inner voice is, as well.” What is it about these pieces that allows you to feature all four Scherzi on a single program? “They feel comfortable all in one place. They're musically connected, yet they're all different, but at the same time they're all similar. The fourth Scherzo is my favorite and the hardest. Mihael Mitev se je po končanem Konservatoriju za glasbo in balet vpisal na Akademijo za glasbo v Ljubljani, kjer je z odliko diplomiral pri svojem očetu, profesorju Zoranu Mitevu. V okviru študentske izmenjave ERASMUS+ je študiral tudi na Univerzi za glasbo in upodabljajočo umetnost na Dunaju pri profesorju Richardu Gallerju. Študij fagota nadaljuje v Švici, na Zürcher Hochschule der Künste pri profesorju Giorgiu Mandolesiju. Kot orkestrski glasbenik se udejstvuje predvsem kot substitut v orkestrih, kot so: Orchestre de Paris, Musikkollegium Winterthur, Slovenska filharmonija, Simfonični orkester RTV Slovenija idr. Od 2015 dalje je član mladinskih orkestrov: Mladinskega orkestra Evropske unije (EUYO), Mladinskega orkestra Gustava Mahlerja (GMJO) in Orkestra Festivala Zermatt. Z njimi je nastopil na najrazličnejših festivalih in v koncertnih dvoranah po Evropi in po svetu z dirigenti, kot so: Matthias Pintscher, Daniel Harding, Gianandrea Noseda, Bernhard Haitink, Johnatan Nott idr. Leta 2016 je bil v okviru EUYO izbran v program akademije orkestra Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Maja 2017 je kot solist izvedel delo Heitorja Villa Lobosa Ciranda das sete notas z orkestrom Mladi ljubljanski solisti v okviru koncertne sezone Akademije za glasbo v Ljubljani.

Maria Eklund föddes i Ryssland men har bott i Sverige i 22 år, i större delen av sitt liv. Hon utbildade sig i Moskva, både vid Tjajkovskij-konservatoriet och Gnesins musikakademi. - Klangen är viktigast i en orkester, säger Maria Eklund som regelbundet arbetar med flera av de ledande symfoniorkestrarna och operahusen, Arena di Verona, som är världens största utomhusarena, Bolsjojteatern, vilken är Rysslands nationalscen för balett och opera, Berlin Sinfonietta, Norrlandsoperans symfoniorkester, Nationaloperan i Kina, och Ryska Nationalorkestern.Under åren 2005-2008 var Maria Eklund första gästdirigent vid Ryska symfoniorkestern.Hennes mentor vid Moskvakonservatoriet var dirigenten Gennadij Rozjdestvenskij som ledde Kungliga Filharmonikerna under 2 perioder (1974-1977, 1992-95).
