Zacke Zahn beruhigt ihn, denn the evil is always and everywhere, aber nicht bei unserem zukünftigen Vereins-Hymnen-Songwriter A1. Sick New World. Da träumen die Beiden sich hin, Acid Bath sei dank. Interview by Angela CroudaceJanne "JB" Christoffersson (guitar, lead vocals) from Grand Magus talks Vikings, Beowulf and the benefit of taking a long break before releasing the upcoming album, Sunraven - out October 18.The Swedish metal trio have been delivering metal for 25 years, renowned for their captivating guitar solos and Viking-inspired battle anthems. This three-piece band is truly impressive. On having a break (due to the pandemic) before diving into Sunraven, JB had this to say: “We said if we're going to do this, we're going to do it properly. We took a year to record it. We didn't know that this was going to be possible, but it was.”“Everything we do is based on emotion; if the passion's not there, we're not gonna do it.”JB shares his experience of playing festivals like Bloodstock alongside friends in Opeth. He expresses hope to one day perform for the huge metal scene in Australia. Original Airdate 5/31/2016Cooper, Starcher and Radulich review Grand Magus - Sword Songs.Grand Magus are a three-piece heavy metal band hailing from Stockholm, Sweden. Drawing influence from bands such as Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Rainbow, Uriah Heep, Nazareth and Manowar, Grand Magus' sound consists of an amalgamation of blues, hard rock, heavy metal and doom.Eighth endeavor, and the band's latest studio album Sword Songs was released May 13, 2016. The songs were recorded during the Midwinter months of 2015-16, produced by Nico Elgstrand. On the lead up to release, JB commented: "We put all of our sweat, blood and tears into this new album and I think that you can hear that. For me, Sword Songs is the best GRAND MAGUS album ever! The new songs are faster and more aggressive than on Triumph and Power - and we have also included some more extreme and harder stuff. I'm convinced that there are some future classics on the disc!" A cover version of Deep Purple's "Stormbringer" was included as a bonus track on the limited edition CD version, the first cover released in the band's history.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsoFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76

One of the LGBT+ heavy metal podcast's favourite things in metal is unveiled – that being how many of the lyrics and titles sound euphemistic and/or phallic. Starting with a classic of the genre: Grand Magus' superb 'Like The Oar Strikes The Water'.This week's Camp Classic is 'Altered State – Of Matter – iii. Resist' by TesseracT (and yes, we had to write it down to remember!), and the many queer interpretations both Matt and Tom get from it are discussed. Uniquely, this is a Camp Classic with lyrics by a former guest on the show, Ashe O'Hara, who joined us in HBFM #10.Plus the Hate Crew Gaybar jukebox's new additions this week are Aorta by death/doom gloombringers Majestic Downfall, and Desolate from Icelandic tech death virtuosos Ophidian I.

The humble newspaper comic: for years it was one of the most popular forms of entertainment. Every day we would open up our papers to enjoy the antics of Garfield, Heathcliff and of course, Funky Winkerbean. Today, however the outlet where the comic strip as a medium flourishes is on social media. This week on the Meme Team we explore the Instagram comics of @Ugojesse with Brad Austin and a true expert on the platform, Instagram's Global Director, Creative Shop, Kay Hsu. Plus, the hard rockin' riff of the week, 'Kingslayer' by Grand Magus. Go to @tonyzaret on Instagram to follow along with the image carousel labelled 'Episode 32.'

In this installment of the Shred Shack Podcast, your favorite heavy metal caballeros make up for lost time after skipping a week in podcasting by recording a three hour show. After starting things off with some old business regarding Slipknot, Led Zeppelin and AC/DC, we take a look at the latest releases from Wicked Maraya, Khanus, Vektor, Polar, Dark End, Devildriver, Destruction, Toseland, Hatebreed, Seas of Wake, Kvelertak, Grand Magus and Formless. A ton of general, recording, touring and charting news is reviewed for several artists, with a particularly lengthly touring discussion. Pat and Reece from the New York side of things offer up the Top Ten Heavy Metal Songs About Space. For this week's Social Media Highlight segment, we give brief updates on Wasteland Rocks, Our World Below and Apothica before diving into Mata. From there, we discuss our experience seeing Tim "Ripper" Owens performing a mostly acoustic set at the Rock Box, backed and followed by San Antonio's own Jessikill. We follow that up with a discussion about our experience catching Jessikill a second time along with Forever Town, Seance and Worst Case Scenario. Our discussion for the week doubles as our Top Albums for the month of April 2016 as we further discuss our feelings on the latest from Otep, Deftones, Zakk Wylde, Vision of Atlantis, Rob Zombie, Darkestrah, Sig.Ar.Tyr and Aborted.
