POPULARITY
Today was the first show in the post SaveJXN era of the Clay Edwards Show and I have to say that I personally enjoyed the hell out of it and hope you all did too. The fact that the live viewership doubled throughout the show let's me know that people were sharing it because they also enjoyed it so thank you!! 1- We open the show with Pearl, Mississippi Mayor Jake Windham telling us all about what's going on in Pearl Saturday for the annual Pearl Day festival that concludes Saturday night with a free concert headlined by Poison lead singer Bret Michaels & co-headliner WARRANT!! We also take a dive into the state of the state of Pearl and all of the great work Jake's team has done with revitalizing the Hwy 80 corridor over the last decade or so. 2- I discuss last nights NFL draft and the fact the Ole Miss QB Jaxon Dart got drafted by the New York Giants as well as giving the recent draftees some advice about how to protect their money from "Insta-Skanks" that want to become "baby mommas". 3- Last night in on Hwy 49 in Richland, Mississippi, Rankin county law enforcement had a shootout and standoff with a terrorist that ended with a LEO Sniper taking the terrorist out. I tell you guys everything I know and issue the terrorist a FAFO championship 4- The story about the terrorist FAFO'ing in Rankin County reminded me of the time that the Westboro Baptist Church came to Brandon back in 2011 to protest a fallen Mississippi Marines funeral and found out the hard way that we do NOT play that shit down here!! 5- Angel "Mic Magazine" Buckner called in to tell a story about a time she personally dealt with racism in real life, and it wasn't in Mississippi. You might be surprised to find out where it was and hear what she has to say about it is as she fought back tears. 6- We got a crazy phone call from who I believe was the baby momma of Hector Custode, who's the accused child sex predator from the local car dealership that was exposed last week on the Pred V. Prey Facebook page. Rather the caller was the baby momma or not it motivated me to tell the story about how she has been stalking me and sharing information about Bryce (the content creator who exposed Hector) trying to tarnish him image as if it's somehow going to change what anyone thinks about Hectors image. We try to decide why she feels the need to defend Hector after he was caught on tape admitting to what he admitted to.

We had the pleasure of Fowler GMC Co-General Manager Christy Ward calling into the show after the interview and explaining exactly what happened in the aftermath of the live video with Hector admitting to improper communication with a minor, how long before he was fired, etc. I truly appreciate Fowler stepping up and jumping in front of this thing first thing Monday morning.
This week we’re delighted to be in local clothing shop Hectors meeting with some local retailers to talk about how they see the situation for them in Petersfield now and in the future. Hector Denogean, a third-generation miner, travels all the way from Arizona to join Mining Minds in studio to share his journey in the mining industry. Hector takes us back to his first job, fresh out of school, where he learned the ropes of working with people—managing personalities, building bonds, and understanding the importance of teamwork in the mine. He sought to earn the respect of his peers, prove his worth, and overcome the challenges of the job. We discuss the boom-and-bust cycles that have shaped his career. Hector recalls the gut-wrenching moment when he was pulled out of the mine mid-shift because the company was closing its doors. He reflects on overcoming the challenges of sinking shafts in the hot, wet mines of Arizona, where both brute strength and engineering were required to complete the task. He also shares the darkest part of his journey—the loss of co-workers. In this candid conversation, Hector reveals how that tragedy became a turning point in his career, inspiring him to partner with management to foster a culture of safety. He emphasizes the importance of humility, the value of listening to experienced miners, and the power of working together. Hector believes mining is, at its core, a people industry—where the miners, not just the ore, define the company. This episode is a raw and inspiring tribute to the resilience of miners, the deep connections forged underground, and the human side of an industry often known for its tough exterior. Having SailGP in Lyttleton Harbour is being likened to planning a motorcross event in Kiwi habitats. SailGP CEO Russell Coutts slammed the cancellation of Saturday's racing after a dolphin was spotted on the course. He claims the species isn't endangered and are smart enough to be aware of the boats around them. Chair of Māui and Hector's Dolphin Defenders Christine Rose tells Kerre Woodham they were concerns for dolphin safety before the event went ahead. Rose says at this time of year, the Hectors dolphins are particularly vulnerable due to calves being slower swimmers and more shallow divers. There has been an increase in probable boat strike deaths of dolphins in the harbour and noise and other disturbances can also impact their ability to socialise and feed. Was sind Hectors Beweggründe? Wie geht der Verein damit um? Und gibt es noch eine Chance für ein Hector-Comeback?

I have held this story for several months. I am going to share the story of a young man that applied for a part-time job at C3 last summer that had all the signs of a potential leader. Let's call him Larry. One of our core values is ownership. I look for this quality in our applicants. Are they reliable, dependable, trustworthy? This is the foundation of the second core value of excellence. If they take ownership, they will work with excellence. The final core value is safety. If they are a person who takes ownership and works with excellence, they will not let safety slip. I look for this and have a strict filtering process for C3 hiring. It's obvious when an applicant is lazy or not willing to work. My dad was the hardest worker in his gas utility crew. But there was a guy named Hector that always managed to do the least amount to not get fired. He never pulled his weight. Others in the crew including my dad had to do his work. Hector was overweight and lazy. No one liked Hector, but Hector was just fine because he had a cushy job that paid well and others did his work. By the way, that guy managed to retire from the utility company. It's incredible that the leadership of this company allowed 'Hectors' to survive. They kill morale. It's obvious when a Hector shows up in your applicant pool. They stand out. But what about the other extreme? Larry applied to C3 and completed all of the steps to earn an interview. He was enthusiastic about cleaning. He has been working in cleaning for years part-time with his family. He was passionate about our company's mission and values. He was off-the-charts ambitious. He had young kids and had big goals and dreams. He listened to several of my podcasts and was excited to work for me and get mentored. He wanted to grow his own cleaning company. Larry had an aura around him that rang the bell I was looking for. As quoted in one of my favorite movies of all time (you can guess it)... "That brings us to Larry. Oh yeah. I had to chance to speak with Larry today. That guy is a straight-shooter with upper management written all over him." I saw the potential in him to not just become a cleaning team member. I saw him rising quickly to become my first supervising team leader. I saw him rising beyond that to join the leadership team I will build. I saw all kinds of potential. Have you ever met a Larry? He stands out just as much!Read the rest of this article at the Smart Cleaning School website

Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for October 25, 2021 is: hector HEK-ter verb Hector means "to criticize or question in a threatening manner." // The mediator asked the unruly members of the audience to cease hectoring the speaker. In Homer's Iliad, Hector, the eldest son of King Priam of Troy, was a model soldier, son, father, and friend, the champion of the Trojan army until he was killed by the Greek hero Achilles. So how did his name become a verb meaning "to intimidate or harrass"? That use was likely influenced by gangs of rowdy street toughs who roamed London in the 17th century and called themselves "Hectors." They may have thought themselves gallant young blades, but to the general populace they were swaggering bullies who intimidated passersby and vandalized property.

In the third conversation with Beverly Delidow of Here's a Quarter we drop a lot of recommendations, all available at the bottom of this episode description, in case you get curious and wanna find out more. Diving into the difference between the laws of tribal and modern societies, the distinctive difference in their rally cries for redemption versus retribution reminded me of an amazing Moth-story by Hector Black, that I blogged about in April of 2014. Hectors tells a horrible story of his daughter (in love, if not by birth), and shows an absolutely astonishing ability to forgive. I mention (yet another book) by Daniel Quinn. Not called WHEN but IF they give you lined paper, write sideways. But honestly… it's not a matter of IF, it is a matter of WHEN, as we are all given lined paper, that is, lulled into believing the norm-driving stories of the culture(s) we live in. Immersing myself in Daniel Quinns writings as well as spending a lot of time with my Buddha-friend Dominic, has gotten me to a place where I finally (I've said it before and will say it again, sometimes it takes a long time for the penny to drop) have started to see the importance of context. Who says what, based on what hidden, underlying assumptions? When a question is asked, try to get under the skin of it, finding out what's implied by the question. That's what Quinn means when he says write sideways. Don't. Just. Swallow. It. Or, stated in another way: Think. For. Yourself. Honestly, I find that a lot harder than it sounds. Especially as I choose to trust (in me, in you, in the world), and will remain in trust until proven wrong. Now there's some tankespjärn for you! Links: Hector Black on The Moth If they give you lined paper, write sideways, by Daniel Quinn I mention attachment theory, speaking about Ross Green but honestly, who I meant to refer to is Gordon Neufeld. Sorry about that! But hey, two for the price of one, Green is worth a look too! There's The children's fire and The Imitation Game too.

Episode 6 opens with a simulation of Maeve in the Valley Beyond. A glimmer of hope as to what she might get if she can help Serac defeat Delores. Maeve finds new powers in being able to see through simulations and straight into other areas of Delos which helps her bring Hector back to her reality. At the psych ward we meet up with William who is given a procedure to produce his real memories, the root of his problems. In the simulation he is joined by incarnations of himself throughout the years and his father. After brutal killing them he realizes he is the good guy. Only to have the simulation end by Bernard and Ashley who have come to the hospital to get him. Serac is waging war against Delos and all hosts. Staging a hostile takeover he has staff begin the process of destroying Delos, and all the hosts in cold storage save for Hector who uses to keep Maeve on his side. He has realized that Hale is actually Delores which starts a long chain of events. But not before Charlores downloads a backup of all the information in Delos. Mass killing ensues as she runs for the exit, destroying Hectors control unit along the way. Now Maeve is almost totally alone- all part of Delores’s plan. Charlores runs to get her “family” and bring them to safety but they are killed in a fiery car explosion killing all except Charlores, in an emotional ending. Watch the episode (and all previous live recordings) on Facebook, and follow to keep up with Bside news - www.facebook.com/BsidePodcasts/ Ahhhh, it feels good to be back home. After a string of international guests sending in mixes as well as recordings in Glasgow, the 18th episode of the Bside live series is back in Edinburgh. As always on Bside, the DJs were invited to showcase their record collection, limited to only playing B-sides. Our guests for this episode are the ever growing and exciting Edinburgh based trio, Hand-made. Hand-made have made a proper dent in the Edinburgh scene and beyond in the last year. They are Hectors go-to residents and have played alongside Levon Vincent, DJ Haus, Hammer and Telfort (to name a few) in multiple different venues. The mix sticks to Hand-made's characteristic warm n' sleazy Italo/Afro tracks that they are renowned for. Big thanks to Molly Hickey as always for the artwork. The moves yesterday to enlarge the marine sanctuary for Maui and Hector’s dolphins comes with a side order of irony. The Government announced plans to extend the area where set netting and trawl nets are banned to most of the lower west coast of the North Island and the areas around Banks Peninsula. The move is to protect the two native species of dolphins. Apparently, there are only 63 Maui dolphins left in the world. The Hector’s dolphin has better numbers with their population estimated at 15,000. Currently, it’s thought that commercial fishing kills 40 odd Hector’s dolphins a year as part of the bycatch. It’s harder to know what’s killing the Maui dolphin because there’s so little of them. One fisher who phoned my programme yesterday, Curly from New Plymouth, contended that biological factors are a greater factor in the slow demise of the Maui dolphin. They like the murky water at the mouth of rivers and it’s estimated that two Maui dolphins die every year from toxoplasmosis that comes from sheep and cats on the mainland which is washed into the sea. He’s not wrong on that, surprising as it seems. He also said that in all his years at sea he has never seen a Maui dolphin in a net. Of course, commercial fishers are up in arms at the move because of the impact on their trade. The environmentalists are unhappy as well because the measures don’t go far enough. They want the anti-netting zone extended and to include gill nets as well as set nets and trawling. The side order of irony in all of this is the defunct Kermadec Ocean Sanctuary. Back in 2015, the National Prime Minister John Key announced the 620,000 square kilometre sanctuary to the UN and the world applauded. It was all go until Labour and New Zealand First formed their coalition and the price Winston and Shane wanted was dropping the sanctuary, which Labour agreed to much to the Greens disgust. New Zealand First argued it adversely affected commercial iwi fishing which was granted as part of Treaty claims. This despite the fact that Ngati Kuri, the tangata whenua of the Kermadecs, strongly supports the reserve. So we have a crazy scenario where the Government want to place a sanctuary in our coastal waters but not one in our oceans.Myself, I believe in the Kermadec Sanctuary. It will make our fishing sustainable. It will give a zone where numbers can recover. Our commercial fishers have depleted too many species through greed or shoddy management through the years and this would be an insurance policy. So man up Labour and make it happenMeanwhile, the dolphin policy seems heavy handed. The current scenario does not fundamentally threaten the Hectors dolphin population. Unfortunately for the Maui dolphin population everything fundamentally threatens it due to their extreme low numbers.

Hector is a second generation wrestler, son of the late legendary wrestler Gory Guerrero. Hector was born in Mexico City one of four sons and two daughters.Hector began his pro career in 1973 with his first match in Juarez Mexico. Although his pro career may not have started until 1973 Hector grew up in the business with the family traveling and then settling down in El Paso, TX. Unlike most kids Hectors family had a wrestling ring in the back yard instead of swings so he learned a great deal from his father Gory. Hector Avellaneda is from Houston, Texas and has a passion for entrepreneurship, economics, finance and gold. This, however, only materialized after Hector came face to face with a untold truth and one of the harshest lessons that only a life experience can teach you, as long as you are willing to dig deep in search for answers. Hector, the son of Mexican immigrants to the US, grew up in poverty and was statistically destined to a life of poverty in adulthood. However, Hector wanted to defy this probability and worked extremely hard in school. In typical fashion, Hector accumulated college debt and was ironically facing a poorer life than his own parents despite a larger mean income. Hector questioned the college debt system and deeply explored how US citizens have grown accustomed to taking on such debt. Further research led him to realise that middle-class America could see their wealth wiped out due to an impending dollar crisis. Subsequently, Hector wrote an economics and finance-related book to share his findings and to suggest what you can do to protect your wealth. Find out: how Hector had all the hallmarks of continuing to live a life of poverty in America. about Hector being bullied in school because of the charitable clothes he wore . how Hectors' father and mother's sense of hard-work and money management became naturally ingrained in him. how Hector defied and beat the statistical odds of remaining poor for life due to a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed. how hard work in school can open up many opportunities in life including an internship with NASA. the importance of being mentored. how easy credit for college education made Hector 's financial position worse off than his parents. what triggered Hector into discovering the truth about the American economy and the college debt system. the risks in the US economy. why the US could be faced with a massive default on student loans and what is triggering this today. how it became acceptable to borrow to pay for college. why Hector's $50,000 student debt became a blessing in disguise. and much more. For episode 21 of the ...rude not too podcast, we welcome a guest we've been trying to get hold of for some time. He's been kind enough to supply a 1hr 30min mix of his finest work, utilising 4 decks, drum computers and fx units to gel together his forward thinking style. Be prepared to be taken on an epic journey of Tech-House and Techno courtesy of JOHNNY ALLEN! Johnny Allen discovered his first set of decks at the tender the age of 14. Picking up two hi fi turntable tops and a mixer(see my Facebook for my first mixer lol) from his local electronic store - he hasn’t looked back since. His first live appearances playing to a crowd were in 2000 where he played at local parties in his home town before moving abroad to play at clubs in both Spain and Crete. In 2004, he was invited to play at a popular local techno night called 'Refresh' where he gained a regular slot playing harder edged techno. During this time he was also invited to play at various other nights including The Vault, Soundhaus Glasgow, The Club(Club 69) Paisley and the Honeycomb in Edinburgh where he played alongside the likes of GREEN VELVET, CHRIS LIBERATOR, DAVE THE DRUMMER and hardcore legend LENNY D. A turning point in Johnny's career came in 2005 when he visited the Sonar festival and after listening to the likes of Richie Hawtin and Ricardo Villalobos, he was blown away by a whole new style of techno music and sound effects. Greatly influenced by these techno pioneers, Johnny then slowly changed his djing style to a more groove driven tech house and minimal techno which was warmly received at his gigs. In 2009, Johnny got together with fellow DJs CLUTCH SLIP and started a club night, "Hectors Discotheque", at The Club (Club69). The "Hectors" booked and played alongside the likes of ALAN FITZPATRICK, HANS BOUFFMYHRE, KYLE GEIGER and local hero ALAN BELSHAW. Venues for Hectors Discotheque changed frequently from boats, to fields, to barns, to various other Glasgow club venues, a move which kept the night innovative and fresh which seemed to appeal to the clubbers. Teaming up with fellow DJ Mark Stuart as techno duo FREEEKNIT, Johnny has also been able to showcase his turntable trickery in a fresh innovative way by using a mixture of software and hardware effects and drum machines to give the crowd something a a little less conventional than the traditional two decks and a mixer style of djing. These days Johnny can be found in the studio producing music or working on future events. He has also secured gigs at a list of radio shows and clubs in Scotland with some of the biggest names on the DJ circuit.....last year alone he played after MINUS superstar HEARTTHROB, JOSEPH CAPRIATI and SCI-TEC/MINUS JOOP JUNIOR and this year warmed up for HOBO and MATADOR(IE) in Glasgow, also from Richie Hawtins Minus Label.
