The Letter of Jude E5 — In verses 11-16, Jude continues warning his Jewish messianic audience about deceptive, immoral people infiltrating their house churches. He compares them to three characters from the Hebrew Bible—Cain, Balaam, and Korah—who choose rebellion for themselves and lead others astray. Next, he compares the corrupt church members to a series of images from Scripture, including selfish shepherds, rainless clouds, and wandering stars. In this episode, Jon and Tim continue exploring Jude's dense prose, where he seamlessly weaves together allusions to the Hebrew Bible and Second-Temple period literature into a piercing critique of imposters within a community of disciples.FULL SHOW NOTESFor chapter-by-chapter summaries, referenced Scriptures, and reflection questions, check out the full show notes for this episode.CHAPTERSCain, Balaam, and Korah (0:00-23:23)Six Images of Corrupt Leaders (23:23-37:45)The Prophecy of Enoch (37:45-55:42)OFFICIAL EPISODE TRANSCRIPTView this episode's official transcript.BIBLEPROJECT JUDE TRANSLATIONView our full translation of the Letter of Jude.REFERENCED RESOURCESAntiquities of the Jews by JosephusCheck out Tim's extensive collection of recommended books here.SHOW MUSIC“Gentle Lamb” by Lofi Sunday, Yoni Charis“Purple Clouds ft. Let's talk about it. Sadie and Korie are back with an honest, messy conversation about Botox, fillers, filters, and the pressure to be perfect. They open up about their own experiences — and why even sharing a clip can feel vulnerable. We scroll, we compare, and somehow feel like we're falling behind. Even the “natural” look isn't so natural anymore. The crazy part? Jesus addressed this obsession with perfection over 2,000 years ago, and it still hits today. In Episode 492: Underground Base and Hadron Collider of Illinois, we are joined by the boys from Cryptids Of The Corn, Justin and Jay. They were originally in town to visit me in the studio with Joel from Kill The Mockingbirds and Erick from uNcomfortable podcasts for the recording of our Nephilim Portal Babies episode. Justin and Jay were the only ones of the bunch who had never been featured on The Confessionals so we wanted to give them the spotlight for a couple of hours!Justin begins talking about a man he worked with who had discovered a secret underground facility deep under the O'Hare International Airport in Chicago. We discuss the possibilities of what this facility could be and why it is located in Chicago. Later Justin shares his experience discovering a hadron collider in Illinois as a wildlife biologist. What started out as a routine day of testing for “nerd stuff” in a local creek ended with armed men surrounding him and his team as they entered a location that doesn't exist on Google Maps, but houses a secret hadron collider. We wrap up the conversation by discussing Justin's family property and how they were tormented by bigfoot for nearly two years. Please pray for Tony's wife, Lindsay, as she battles breast cancer. We reflect on the reality that Scripture is the living Word of God, far more powerful than we often realize. It has the ability to encourage, correct, heal, and transform our hearts. We share personal stories of how the Holy Spirit has brought Scripture to life for us and how God's Word has been an anchor during seasons of difficulty. SEASON 4 EPISODE 55: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (2:30) SPECIAL COMMENT: So would you like to collapse the Trump Regime? Today? Peacefully? Legally? You - the White House press corps. It only takes one of you. You go into the next Oval Office Scrum, and you ask him politely for his explanation of something released by his administration, by Pam Bondi’s office, on the government website, and you read – quoting this FBI 302 interview file: “Maxwell presented (her) to Trump…by the things Maxwell said, it was clear that (she) was available…”And don’t stop reading and don’t make eye contact. THEN from the sworn affidavit, reed, quote: “I personally witnessed Defendant Trump telling the plaintiff that she couldn’t ever say anything, if she didn’t want to disappear like the 12-year old female (redacted) and that he was capable of having her whole family killed…” Quote: “the physical and sexual abuse that I personally witnessed of minor females at the hands of Mr. Trump and Mr. Epstein... under penalty of perjury even though I fully understand that the life of myself and my family is now in grave danger” unquote, what SIR is your explanation SIR about when you threatened this girl’s life, sir. Just keep asking. Don't make eye contact, don't stop, don't stop talking when he starts talking. Just reel off those quotes. And the one about becoming fertilizer. And the "Calendar Girls" story (as nonsensical as that probably is). And all the others. Because we don't always see the escape hatch when it appears before us, and it just appeared. Because the Epstein Files are part of an official Department of Justice Document Dump. Their contents are Pam Bondi's problem, not you or your lawyer's. And if you don't bear down and do this job as it was designed by the Founding Fathers, you will sooner or later face one of these outcomes: you'll be arrested, you'll be replaced by some automaton Bari Weiss likes, or the country will survive and the next people running media will never consider you for work because you were cowardly when we needed your courage. Oh and you can peacefully, legally end the careers of Elon Musk and Marco Rubio and Bari Weiss and lots of others. The material is all in front of you. Just have the courage to pick it up and fling it, like he'd fling his poo at you. ALSO: Don Lemon was arrested not because Jesus but because Trump has always hated him. And if you've forgotten, I explained two weeks ago why Trump was trying to restart the 2020 crap, now sending Tulsi Gabbard to Georgia. They're sitting up not a claim that the election was fixed, but that the election was fixed by another country (hey, Nicolas Maduro, you mind taking the rap, in exchange for a pardon?) and there is no statute of limitations on THAT. B-Block (34:55) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Harriet Hageman, the blob they elected to the House from Wyoming to replace Liz Cheney, is now running for Senate. Emphasize "running": she has fled a town hill. The Bill Maher Pretzel Logic: Celebrities should shut up, voters don't listen to TV and movie stars. But Bill, you expect them to listen to you. So you're saying you're not a star? And the latest Bari Weiss firing target is supposedly Face The Nation host Margaret Brennan and one of the names being thrown around (probably nonsensically) is Matt Lauer. C-Block (54:00) MONDAYS WITH THURBER: We need a doubleheader. I heard an audio book with a famous actor doing Thurber's tribute to what would be called Dunning-Kruger Syndrome: "The Macbeth Murder Mystery" and it was one of those rare times when I actually said "No - I did this better." So I bring it to you, and as a bonus, a second great unheralded Thurber story: "Meet Birdey Doggett." Enjoy them at your leisure.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

That physical desperation when we're dehydrated? It reflects something deeper. Breaking Down Water in Scripture—and Our Dependence on Christ Just like our bodies cry out for physical water to survive and thrive, our souls thirst for the Living Water. He doesn't just quench; He becomes a spring welling up to eternal life, overflowing to others. Reflection Questions to Ponder (or Journal During/After Your Movement) How has God been faithful to you lately, even in small ways? What if the greatest threat to our witness today isn't culture—but division within the church itself? In a time when opinions are loud and loyalties are competing, it's easy to prioritize being right over reflecting Christ. In this episode, Christine Caine walks through 1 Corinthians 1 to remind us that what unites us in Jesus is far greater than anything that divides us. Paul's words to the Corinthian church speak powerfully to our moment—calling us back to humility, unity, and the centrality of the cross. This message challenges us to elevate Jesus above personalities, preferences, and opinions, and to live in a way that truly reflects Him to a watching world. Unity isn't optional—it's essential to our witness. ✨ In this episode, you'll discover: ● Why unity matters more than ever in a divided world ● How the cross confronts pride, power, and human wisdom ● What it looks like to live and lead with Jesus at the center

Deception rarely shows up looking dangerous. More often, it comes quietly—through questions, subtle doubts, and half-truths that feel reasonable in the moment. This devotional takes us back to Genesis 3, where the serpent doesn’t begin with a direct command to sin. He begins with a question that plants uncertainty: Did God really say…? That’s the first crack—inviting Eve to doubt God’s Word and, ultimately, God’s authority. As the conversation unfolds, we see how easily temptation can pull us closer rather than push us away. Instead of fleeing, Eve engages. Instead of ending the conversation, she stays in it. And in that exchange, God’s command becomes blurred. The devotional notes that Eve’s response adds something God didn’t say—introducing confusion about what’s true. That confusion becomes an opening for the enemy to exploit truth with a twist: a half-truth presented as wisdom. The result is devastating—deception leads to disobedience, and disobedience brings consequences that ripple outward. But the devotional doesn’t leave us in despair. It reminds us that we are just as vulnerable to the same pattern: it’s okay to look… it won’t hurt to touch… and eventually, we’re further than we ever intended to go. That’s why the call is not self-confidence, but spiritual vigilance—being rooted in God’s Word so we can recognize lies quickly and respond with truth. Scripture becomes our anchor, and the Holy Spirit helps us discern what’s off before it becomes destructive. And even when we do fall, God’s mercy is still present. The devotional points to the hope woven into Genesis: God makes a way for His people, ultimately through the Savior He promised. Our enemy desires destruction, but Jesus offers life—full, abundant, and freeing. The invitation today is to cling to Christ, soak in Scripture, and ask God for discernment that stops deception at the start. Main Takeaways Deception often begins with subtle doubt: “Did God really say…?” Temptation pulls us closer step by step—engagement becomes compromise. Knowing God’s Word clearly helps us recognize half-truths and shut down lies. We are all vulnerable to deception, so vigilance and humility matter. Even when we fall, God’s forgiveness and salvation through Christ remain our hope. Today’s Bible Verse “Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” - Genesis 3:1 NIV Your Daily Prayer Here is a brief excerpt from today’s prayer: “Help me to be soaked in Your Word, to recall Your Truth so that I can quickly spot the lie… and shut it down with the Truth of Your Word.” You can listen to the full prayer or read the devotional at the links below. In this message, Pastor Levi Lusko talks about the urgency and responsibility of sharing the gospel. Time is short, life is precious, and if you know Jesus, you carry information that could change someone's eternity. At the resurrection in Matthew 28, the women didn't receive a seminar on evangelism; they saw Jesus alive, and seeing Him created an overflow they couldn't contain. Why did Jesus say no—and why does that matter for you as a dad?In this episode, we talk about boundaries, calling, and the quiet cost of saying yes to everything. Jesus didn't heal people and then automatically bring them along. Sometimes He said no—because He was crystal clear about what He was saying yes to.If you feel pulled in a hundred directions by work, culture, expectations, and other people's agendas, this conversation will help you slow down and realign. We'll talk about:Why Jesus' “no” often confused peopleHow unclear priorities lead to burnoutWhy your wife and kids pay the price for your overcommitmentHow to confidently say no without explanation or guiltPlus, there's a simple one-page worksheet to help you put this into practice.

Many believers don't fully recognize all they've received in Christ Jesus—God's love, healing, provision, peace, and joy. Instead, they often spend their lives trying to get God to give them what's already theirs. Join Andrew for this collection of faith-filled teachings and rediscover the abundant life made possible through the finished work of the cross.
Is it wrong to say that Jesus' work of atonement is limited in some way? Today, R.C. Sproul clarifies that the doctrine of limited atonement addresses what Christ accomplished on the cross according to the eternal decree of God. We tend to read the story of the Israelites making the golden calf and ask, “How could they?” But we fail to realize that what the Israelites were guilty of, idolatry, is the very thing that is behind all of our other sins. Today, Pastor J.D. shows us not only the danger of idolatry in our lives, but how we can escape it. Ultimately, what is bad news for those who reject Christ is actually good news for those who follow him: You become like what you worship.

However, taking time to evaluate the emotional, spiritual, and communicative aspects of your relationship can make all the difference. In this blog post, we delve into key insights shared by marriage expert Lori Yarbrough during her recent appearance on the Kingdom Crossroads podcast.Main Content:1. The Necessity of Taking Inventory in Marriage Lori Yarbrough emphasizes that just as we regularly service our cars to prevent mechanical failures, we must also prioritize our marriages. Couples often neglect their relationship amidst busy schedules and life's complications. To counter this, Yarbrough suggests couples create two columns: what's healthy and what's neglected. This exercise helps identify strengths and areas needing attention. 2. The Four Core Pillars of Marriage When conducting this inventory, Yarbrough identifies four essential areas to assess: emotional connection, spiritual life, communication, and intimacy. Each pillar plays a crucial role in the overall health of the marriage. Couples should engage in open conversations to explore these areas without judgment or blame, focusing instead on nurturing their covenant.3. Keeping the Pursuit Alive Yarbrough reminds us that attraction in a marriage doesn't fade; rather, the attention may wane. Pursuing one another doesn't require grand gestures but rather small, intentional acts of love. For instance, ensuring your spouse knows they are valued through daily gestures can reinforce the bond. As Yarbrough highlights, "Your spouse should never wonder if they are still wanted."4. The Importance of Spiritual Growth Both partners should pursue their individual relationships with Christ, which Yarbrough notes is foundational for a strong marriage. She shares that praying together has significantly strengthened her relationship with her husband. When spiritual stagnation occurs, it often reflects negatively on the relationship. Each partner must carry their spiritual health, contributing to the overall strength of the marriage.5. The Power of Small Gestures Love is often communicated through small, everyday actions. Yarbrough shares personal anecdotes about how her husband expresses care by preparing her for trips, emphasizing that these acts of service are his way of saying, "You matter to me." Couples should focus on daily deposits of love rather than waiting for occasional grand gestures.6. The Role of Communication Effective communication is vital for intimacy. Yarbrough suggests that couples should engage in deeper conversations beyond logistics. Practicing active listening and emotional openness fosters connection. Couples should aim to create space for meaningful dialogue, ensuring both partners feel heard and valued. Conclusion: Key Takeaways Taking time to evaluate...

Christians are baptized “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” not the “names” of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Catechism explains this distinction by introducing us to the “central mystery of Christian faith and life”: the Trinity. Fr. Mike slows us down to meditate on what God reveals to us concerning his inner life, the very thing that “many prophets and righteous people longed to see… [and] hear.” Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 232-237. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. In a time that demands clarity and courage like never before, Touré Roberts unpacks a transformative truth: Boldness is birthed from how clearly we see. Drawing from John 3:1-13, this message reveals the journey from believing to knowing, where faith matures into radical confidence that brings heaven to earth. David didn't defeat Goliath through personality, but through perspective. His sight was recalibrated when he was anointed at an early age. He got vision before victory. Similarly, Nicodemus evolved from a confused observer to a bold advocate as his spiritual eyes were opened through encounters with Jesus. By the time he honored Christ's burial — though the crowds were gone and the cost was highest — Nicodemus had a knowing. Moving from believing to knowing, allows those who know their God to be strong and obedient in the things of the Lord. Like Elisha's servant seeing angelic armies, our prayers release heavenly resources when our eyes are enlightened to see beyond the natural. Message: "I See Angels, Part I” Scripture: John 3:1-13 (NKJV) Speaker: Touré Roberts Date: Feb. 1, 2026 ✨ Welcome to Your Moment of Transformation You don't have to walk this journey alone. Let Jesus guide your steps and fill your life with purpose and peace.
Jesus is still saying what He said 2,000 years ago: "Follow Me." And He doesn't mean only on Sundays, but every day. Pastor Greg Laurie shares how we can put Jesus first in our lives and move away from things that pull us down. Notes: Luke 5 Social media is stealing hours you can never get back. The algorithm is designed to capture your attention and never let go- Who or what are you following? You will become like the people you follow. You will reflect their values, or lack thereof. It’s time to follow Jesus. Social media influencers want your attention.Jesus wants your heart. Jesus is here for you.He says, “Follow Me.” The bible challenges you to check on yourself. Are you really a Christian? Or are you just pretending to be one? (2 Corinthians 13:5) Acts 11:26 (NLT)It was at Antioch that the believers were first called Christians. To call the believers Christians was a mockery. It meant “little Christs.” Matthew 7:22 (NKJV)“Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?” Matthew 7:23 (NKJV)And then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!” John 14:15 (NKJV)If you love Me, keep My commandments. Are you a follower of Jesus Christ? Read Luke 5:27–32 Luke 5:28 (NLT)So Levi got up, left everything, and followed him. Why did Matthew change so quickly? Jesus simply looked at him and said two words, "Follow Me.” Luke 5:31 (NLT)Jesus answered them, "Healthy people don't need a doctor—sick people do.” God will come to us in a way we can understand. To the military man Joshua, Jesus came as a general. To the combative Jacob, He came as a wrestler. To the astrologers, the Wisemen, through a star in the heavens. Psalm 18:25 (NIV)To the faithful you show yourself faithful,to the blameless you show yourself blameless, Psalm 18:26 (NIV)to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd. If you are drowning in guilt and shame,Jesus offers you forgiveness and relief. If you feel like you don’t belong,Jesus makes room at His table. God does not turn people away because of who they are.He comes to them because of it. Luke 5:27Later, as Jesus left the town, He saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at his tax collector's booth and said, "Follow Me.” Tax collectors collected exorbitant taxes from each person daily.Often, they skimmed off the top or charged more than was required and pocketed the profit. Matthew was considered a traitor, a turncoat, a backslider, and a collaborator with Rome. The people who put up the biggest fight are often closer than those who don’t fight at all. Jesus knew that Matthew wanted a relationship with God.Jeremiah 29:13 Matthew couldn't bring himself to leave that tax booth and go to Jesus. Most non-Christians say they have never had a Christian explain the gospel clearly. The word used for saw, means to gaze intently upon, to stare, to fix one's eyes constantly upon an object. 1 Peter 2:9But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. A people belonging to God that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. Matthew bolted at the chance to follow and serve Jesus. “Follow Me” means to walk the same road. Following Jesus is not just something we do on Sunday. Jesus wants to be a part of everything you do and everywhere you go.Romans 13:14 How do we follow Jesus?Through prayer and Bible study. Start the day with the Bible.End the day with the Bible. Joshua 1:8 (NLT)Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. “Follow Me” also means to "Follow with Me," meaning companionship and friendship. Matthew happily jumped at the chance of a lifetime.Luke 5:27 Matthew knew the cost and willingly paid it. An old Scottish preacher called this “The expulsive power of a new affection.” When a person really meets Jesus Christ, they cannot leave the old life fast enough. Matthew lost a career but gained a destiny. He lost his material possessions but gained a spiritual fortune. Matthew was so excited that he decided to throw a party for Jesus.Luke 5:29 Jesus sees you for who you are, and He sees you for who you can be. What happens when the King of Kings gets publicly humiliated — and says nothing? In Matthew 27:27-30, Jesus is stripped, mocked, crowned with thorns, and beaten by Roman soldiers. It's brutal. It's degrading. And it's the scene most of us want to skip over. But this is where we see something we desperately need — the most powerful Being in the universe choosing silence over revenge. He could have destroyed every soldier in that room. He didn't. Not because He was weak. Because He trusted the Father's plan more than His own flesh wanted to fight back.In this episode, Alex and Lokelani walk through what Jesus' response in that moment teaches us about suffering, pride, and what it actually looks like to have real hope — not the kind the world sells you, but the kind that quiets your soul even when everything around you is falling apart. We also dig into Psalm 131 and 1 Peter 2:18-24 to unpack why staying in your lane isn't giving up — it's trusting God with the parts of life you can't control. If you've ever been mocked for your faith, overlooked for doing the right thing, or just felt like the good you're doing isn't being seen — this one is for you.

Why do some people feel their shelf of unanswered questions eventually breaks? In this Y Religion episode, Professor Jared Halverson discusses his article "Broken Shelves or Continuing Revelation? Extending the Shelf Life of Faith" and reframes the idea of a faith shelf into three shelves—revelation past, present, and future. He explains how remembering God's past mercies, engaging in current spiritual learning, and patiently awaiting future revelation can strengthen faith and prevent spiritual stagnation. Through scripture, storytelling, and years of working with students in faith crises, Dr. Halverson offers a shelf-by-shelf process for extending the shelf life of our faith. This podcast episode dives deep into the lessons Jesus imparts to this church, offering timeless wisdom that resonates with believers today.Main Content: **The Context of Pergamum** The Church in Pergamum existed in a city notorious for its pagan worship and idol practices, symbolized by the phrase "where the throne of Satan sits." TS Wright highlights that this church was located right in the midst of spiritual warfare, a battleground where faith and culture collided. Despite the overwhelming presence of evil, members of the church held fast to their faith, demonstrating remarkable courage and commitment.**Commendation for Faithfulness** Jesus begins His message with commendation, acknowledging the church's perseverance even in the face of persecution. TS Wright points out the significance of this acknowledgment, especially regarding Antipas, a faithful witness who was killed for his beliefs. This serves as a powerful reminder that true faith often requires sacrifice, and believers today must also hold fast to their convictions despite cultural pressures.**Warnings Against Compromise** However, the message is not solely one of encouragement. Jesus issues a stern warning against those in the church who have adopted the teachings of Balaam and the Nicolaitans, practices that led to idolatry and sexual immorality. TS Wright emphasizes that just as the early church faced temptations to conform to cultural norms, modern believers must also guard against the subtle ways in which culture can infiltrate their faith. He urges listeners to recognize the importance of living a life that is set apart, above the moral compromises prevalent in society.**The Call to Repentance** A key theme in this message is the call to repentance. TS Wright elucidates that repentance is a process, not just a one-time confession. It involves a deep heart transformation, turning away from sin, and taking active steps towards obedience. He reminds believers that while the journey may be challenging, the promise of restoration and a new identity in Christ awaits those who repent. **Living Above Culture** In a world where cultural acceptance is often equated with success, TS Wright's insights challenge believers to prioritize their relationship with Jesus above all else. He discusses the dangers of becoming a "carnal Christian," attempting to blend faith with worldly ideologies. Instead, he encourages a commitment to living out the teachings of Christ, even when it comes at a personal cost. The podcast underscores the importance of maintaining a clear distinction between faith and culture, particularly in moments of conflict. Conclusion: The message to the Church in Pergamum serves as a timely reminder for contemporary believers to navigate their faith with courage and conviction. Key takeaways include the...
