Welcome to Multiverse News, your source for information about all your favorite fictional universes.Tom Holland's fourth outing as Peter Parker/Spider-Man opened to a massively successful box office, shattering the domestic opening record previously held by Avengers: Endgame, and raking in nearly $1 billion globally in its first weekend alone - so while it beat Endgame's North American opening take, it comes in just behind it globally. Not a bad start for Disney and Marvel Studios as the conversation around superhero movies ebbs and flows in the zeitgeist. Those numbers exclude the premium IMAX format, as Spidey couldn't web up those screens due to The Odyssey still holding all IMAX screens. While Marvel is on their Spidey high, other headlines have circled the news this week - some good and some disappointing. On a positive note - Samara Weaving has reportedly been cast as Emma Frost. Horror fans will recognize Weaving from the Ready or Not films. Obsession breakout star Inde Navarette confirmed her meeting with Jake Schreier and she mentioned interest in playing Mystique. And for the bad news, Wonder Man will not get a season two after all - even though it was confirmed earlier this year - and both Kevin Feige and Maershala Ali expressed regret about the Blade film; with Feige admitting he feels like a failure for not getting it off the ground and Ali saying he's done with the project. Last week, DC Studios and HBO's Booster Gold series writer David Jenkins said that the project is no longer moving forward. Shortly after he made this statement, IGN reported that the series will, in fact, be moving forward, but with a new creative team. The New York Times reported that Barbie 2 is currently stalled, with Warner Bros. struggling to come to terms with lead talent Greta Gerwig, Margot Robbie, and Ryan Gosling. The studio has until December to reach a deal before the right revert back to Mattel. Stephen King's 1996 novel Desperation is getting a film adaptation from Final Destination: Bloodlines directing duo Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein. Sam Raimi will also produce the feature, his first time working with King. Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for Jumanji: Open World, which opens in theaters on December 25. The film returns franchise stars Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan. Amazon MGM Studios is developing a Warhammer 40k animated event series alongside the upcoming live-action version, sources close to the project confirmed to Deadline. Additionally, Henry Cavill, who is set to star, is also on board to be an executive producer.Dave Bautista is in talks to take on the lead role of Kratos in Prime Video's God of War series, replacing Ryan Hurst, who had to drop out of production after he sustained an on set stunt injury. Mary Holland, Star of Ghosts and The Little House on the Prairie, has been cast in a lead role as Sandra in the upcoming DC Studios and HBO Max Superman spin off series that centers on Jimmy Olsen. In a recent interview with Inverse, Jessica Henwick revealed that she declined an offer to reprise her role as Colleen Wing in Daredevil: Born Again season three because she wants to protect the character's perfect ending in Netflix's Iron Fist.
Kristian Harloff breaks down the biggest movie and TV news stories of the day, led by major new comments from Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige following the success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Feige opens up about the future of Spider-Man 5, addresses Sadie Sink's MCU future following her debut in Brand New Day, and shares his thoughts on whether superhero fatigue is still a concern for Marvel. Plus, new reports suggest the next James Bond actor could finally be revealed before the end of the year, the director of Fast Forever admits he hasn't even read the script yet, Dave Bautista is reportedly set to lead Amazon's highly anticipated God of War TV series, and Mary Holland joins DC Studios' upcoming Jimmy Olsen series. Today's show is headlined by Kevin Feige's latest comments about the future of Spider-Man in the MCU. Kristian discusses what Feige revealed about Spider-Man 5, the future of Sadie Sink's character after Brand New Day, and whether Marvel has finally turned the corner on concerns surrounding superhero fatigue. The episode also covers the latest James Bond casting update, surprising news surrounding Fast Forever, Dave Bautista's reported role in God of War, and another casting addition to DC Studios' Jimmy Olsen series. If you're a fan of Spider-Man, Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, James Bond, God of War, Dave Bautista, DC Studios, or the latest movie news, this episode is for you. #SpiderManBrandNewDay #SpiderMan5 #SpiderMan #Marvel #MarvelStudios #KevinFeige #SadieSink #JamesBond #GodOfWar #DaveBautista #FastForever #DCStudios #JimmyOlsen #KristianHarloffShow #MovieNews #EntertainmentNews FACTOR: Let's eat real. Jace and Rocky break down all 17 DC releases for the week of June 24, 2026. They discuss Detective Comics #1100, where Batman, Green Arrow and Black Canary continue investigating Prion's past while the mystery surrounding the young assassin tied to his grave becomes more complicated. Bizarro Year None #2 follows Perry White and Jimmy Olsen as they try to understand the strange rules of Bizarro's square world as the series begins framing this as a distorted Bizarro origin story. Harley Quinn #63 continues Harley's darker current direction as the monochromatic infection and her fractured emotional state push her further from the zanier version of the character. Absolute Superman #20 returns with a massive battle against King Shazam as Superman, Steel and Hawkman are forced to confront whether overwhelming power can be stopped without sacrificing innocent lives. Green Lantern #36 reconnects Kyle Rayner and Jade while Odyssey's identity and past remain in question. Gotham Academy: First Year #5 follows Olive Silverlock's nightmare as it forces her to confront fears about her mother's legacy while Batman and the Gotham Academy cast move closer to the final issue. Absolute Wonder Woman #21 focuses on Absolute Wonder Woman's time in Hell separating her from Barbara Minerva, whose captivity and connection to a dangerous feline god open new questions about her future. The Peril of the Brutal Dark: An Ezra Cain Mystery #5 sees Ezra Cain's pulp adventure escalate into a Nazi-blimp action sequence that leans hard into the series' darker Indiana Jones energy. Flash #34 has Ryan North explain Flash's new precognitive ability through data, speed and probability while keeping the story light, accessible and emotionally grounded. Superman #39 pushes Superboy-Prime through multiple comic-book realities as Manchester Black tests whether he has truly changed, while Dan Mora shifts art styles to match each world. Superman: Father of Tomorrow #2 sees Jor-El refuse to let Kryptonian technology be used for weapons while Lex Luthor secretly moves forward with non-lethal weapon development, and the issue brings in Klarion and John Constantine as magic emerges as a weakness for this version of Superman. Wonder Woman #34 brings Wonder War to Diana's confrontation with Matriarch, as the fight centers on whether Wonder Woman's willpower can overcome a Green Lantern ring that Matriarch has spent years forcing to obey her. The issue also ends with Diana making a drastic choice involving the God Killer sword. Justice League Unlimited #20 has Wonder Woman nearly reach Brainiac Queen before Lex Luthor's arrogance and his use of Warp ruin the Justice League's chance to turn her, leaving her missing and possibly setting up a "Cyber Earth" timeline. Swamp Thing 1989 #3 brings Rick Veitch's long-delayed story to its most epic chapter yet, with Swamp Thing existing across different points in DC history and Darkseid appearing in a way that fits the elemental scope of the story. Zatanna #3 pits Zatanna against Agent Di Manes, whose power of quietude suppresses her voice and directly attacks the way she uses magic, while the story also involves Elodi and a muse spirit tied to a dead singer. Summer of Supergirl Special #1 continues from Lobo #4, putting Supergirl and Lobo on trial while Crush, Krypto and Dawg get pulled into the chaos, and the special also includes a Supergirl/Mary Marvel team-up plus a Mark Waid story connecting different versions of Supergirl's history. Justice League: Dream Girls #4 concludes with the Justice League apologizing to Galaxy and giving her mission leader rank, while Dreamer chooses not to join the League yet because she still needs to understand her powers on her own. They also give a rundown of this week's collected editions, reprints and facsimile releases. As always, all books are ranked from top to bottom and each host gives a Book of the Week pick.

https://lnk.bio/Jeditalk Tom and Kyle run episode 446 into the ground, as Brad seemingly is stuck in his sex swing (per rumors). But this is a classic ADHD fueled episode that touches a lot of Star Wars on not so much news. What did Matt Smith say about Star Wars Straighter? A rough cut exists of the film already?! Jeff Sneider says that Star Wars and Lucasfilm have a plan for its future. Tom even has a mini rant about Gorilla Grodd and Jimmy Olsen. Xbox can't help itself; it finds rakes out of nowhere to step on, and its all self-inflicted. There won't be any trips in the Tardis anytime soon, and who is to blame? George Miller wants to sell Mad Max, but why? And Fox buys Roku, which feels oddly familiar.

Eric is writing the new Bizarro Year None with Kevin Smith and Nick Pitarra. Think of it as the reverse mirror image of All Star Superman. It's Jimmy Olsen and Perry White trapped in a very dark Bizarro World held by a very evil Bizarro.Wealso reflect on Eric's workon the Supergirl TV show and his thoughts on the upcoming movie, His work on Masters Of The Universe Revelations, with the new film coming up. Plus new animation with Zack Snyder and a look back at Justice League Action.
Jace of The Comic Source is joined by Rocky from Comic Boom! for this week's DC Spotlight as they break down a lighter but still varied week of DC releases. Batman/Superman: World's Finest #50 gets discussed for its Dr. Destiny dream story, Superman's dream Supermobile, and a backup featuring Robin, Supergirl, Batgirl and Jimmy Olsen in a rivalry-fueled mystery. Batman/Static Beyond #5 continues to build around older Static mentoring a younger Batman Beyond while Failsafe and the larger Q-energy conflict move the story forward. Adventures of Superman: Book of El #7 delivers another dense chapter in the House of El saga with Otho-Ra, the future descendants of Superman and the larger science fiction mythology continuing to expand. Batman #8 is a slower setup issue centered on Bruce Wayne's conversation with Alan Scott, the threat of Vandal Savage, and Gotham's mayor Poison Ivy turning the city against Batman and Robin. Absolute Superman #18 stands out with Lois Lane confronting Talia al Ghul over her father's death, Ra's al Ghul showing the effect Superman has had on him, and the issue introducing Absolute versions of John Henry Irons and King Shazam while also hinting at the Phantom Stranger. Poison Ivy #43 continues G. Willow Wilson's character-driven run with Pamela Isley using her position as mayor to go after Gotham's corruption, while also advancing the fallout with Harley Quinn, Janet from HR and the consequences of Bob Venus. Bizarro: Year None #1 offers a different take on Bizarro through a Jimmy Olsen and Perry White focused story that sends them to Bizarro World, with the Daily Planet itself playing into that world's creation. JSA #18 wraps up the Year One material while also including more of the Search for the Spectre backup and its focus on the newer generation of Justice Society characters. Mad About DC #1 serves as a full Mad Magazine-style send-up of DC characters, creators and fandom with multiple standout gags and a tone both hosts found genuinely funny. Batgirl #18 leans deeper into the Spirit World mythology, Cassandra Cain's growing connection to the Wu clan, and the question of whether Lady Shiva is capable of redemption. The episode also includes a rundown of the week's collected editions along with rankings for the books discussed and selections for Book of the Week.
This week on Major Issues, the guys dive into the massive 2026 crossover event Superman / Spider-Man #1. Mark Waid and Jorge Jiménez lead the charge with a story that finally pits the Man of Steel and the Web-Slayer against a Brainiac and Doc Ock alliance. The crew weighs in on whether the chemistry between Clark and Peter lives up to the hype and if Waid's love for comic history makes this a modern classic or just a heavy dose of nostalgia. The episode also breaks down the dense lineup of backup stories and the high-profile teams behind them. They shout out the Lois and MJ spotlight by Tom King and Jim Lee, the chaotic Jimmy Olsen short by Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber, and Christopher Priest's meta-story with Daniel Sampere. With additional contributions from creators like Sean Murphy, Jeff Lemire, Greg Rucka, and Gail Simone, the hosts debate if this oversized special justifies its price tag or if it's just a flashy celebration of the Big Two playing nice again.
