Aimee's a true New Yorker, who's worked with some of the best teachers in the business like Sanford Meisner, Wynn Handman, and Stella Adler. She's got some serious Off-Broadway creds, having cut her teeth at La Mama, Etc., Theatre for the New City, and The Medicine Show Theatre. Aimee's collaborated with some big names in the industry too, like Grotowski, Augusto Boal, and Guillermo Gentile. She's also raked in quite a few prestigious awards and fellowships like The Asian Cultural Council Fellowship, The Los Angeles Endowment, The Los Angeles Women's Foundation Award, Seattle Original Works, and the Susan B. Komen Award. With her wealth of knowledge and experience, Aimee's been teaching performance technique, writing, directing, theatre, and film studies at international conservatories and universities like JAMU, UCSD, CSUSM, SDSU, and CSLA. Although Penny was warned by her family not to go on the Stage, she embraced her legacy and began performing and studying under such masters as Paul Sorvino and Wynn Handman. A filmmaker, actress and writer, Nina is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. As an actress she cut her teeth in commercials and low budget indie films before taking the role of Tess Vargas on the highly successful CW show Beauty And The Beast. Her other TV credits include FBI, NCIS: New Orleans, Nurse Jackie, and Law And Order, among others- and she appeared in the animated feature film The Spine Of Night, which recently premiered at SXSW. As of late, Nina has branched out- directing short films, including Vacant (which she wrote and directed), writing screenplays, and is currently developing several projects throughout the media landscape. Penny Templeton is a master in the craft of acting. Ryan Kessler connected us both and I was so inspired by her insight into the acting world while we had our conversation. We discussed her career as an acting coach, what the "craft of acting" means to her, and why self tapes or so crucial today. We also talk about why actors must be prepared when encountering their work and why they must make informed decisions when taking on a character.Penny Templeton’s over 30 years of artistry is the culmination of four generations of theatre actresses. Although Penny was warned by her family not to go on the Stage, she embraced her legacy and began performing and studying under such masters as Paul Sorvino and Wynn Handman. Highlights of her career include starring in Joyce Carol Oates’ I Stand Before You Naked at the American Place Theatre, and as Paul Sorvino’s wife in All The King’s Men. She started teaching in the early 1990’s, and opened the Penny Templeton Studio in Manhattan in 1994. Ms. Templeton was selected by Columbia University’s School of the Arts to teach ‘Acting for the Camera’ to third year MFA students. Dr. Kathie-Ann Joseph is a surgeon and researcher at New York University Langone Health where she specializes in breast surgery and oncology surgery. Joseph is also the chief of breast surgery at Bellevue Medical Center, where she was recognized in 2015 as Bellevue's Physician of the Year. Joseph works to reduce disparities in cancer care in order to improve health care for individuals in need. Specifically, Joseph focuses on developing programs that will help African-American women to address their needs in breast cancer prevention and care. She is also studying the effects of a cell surface receptor molecule called RAGE which appears to play a role in tumor growth. Dr. Joseph is the first African-American woman to be appointed to the faculty at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center in the Department of Surgery. She has presented before the President's Cancer Panel, an advisory board to the President of the United States. and has advised the New York State Cancer Consortium on the development of its cancer control plan. In 2009, Essence magazine included her among the year's 25 Most Influential African Americans. Dr. Kelly Bay is a functional medicine practitioner in Midtown Manhattan with an evidence based, comprehensive approach to improve health and wellness.. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic, Master's in Human Nutrition with a focus in Functional Medicine and Bachelor of Science in General Studies: Natural Sciences & Mathematics degrees from the University of Bridgeport. Dr. Bay has additional licenses as a clinical nutrition specialist and certified dietician nutritionist. She has worked with various HIV nonprofit organizations, providing functional protocols for HIV patients with health issues such as: diabetes, IBS, kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, cancer and several other HIV related comorbidities. Dr. Bay received an award from the LGBT Network, along with congressional recognition, in December 2019, for her innovative functional medicine approaches aimed at improving the health status of HIV+ individuals. In Memoriam: Wynn Handman

Over a 70-year career, Wynn Handman added sharpness and craft to the natural talents of actors including Christopher Walken, Allison Janney, Raul Julia, Richard Gere, James Caan, Anna Deveare Smith, Joanne Woodward, and Mia Farrow. The World War II veteran studied acting on the GI bill and fell in with Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse in 1946, when the "playhouse" was still two floors of an office building west of Times Square. In this remarkable conversation, Handman tells Alec about his experiences with Meisner, Lee Strasberg, and his many students -- as well as growing up in the 1920s in a Manhattan neighborhood where the streets still had not been paved. Handman died of complications from COVID-19 on April 11, 2020.

Ankara Savone has been entertaining people with her quick wit and charismatic personality her entire life. In 2006 she attended the New York Film Academy for the 1 year intensive acting program. While studying at New York Film Academy, she was pulled into a comedic direction and began studying at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), studying improvisation. Through her desire to become a diverse performer and comedian, in 2014 Ankara made her stand up debut at the Broadway Comedy Club and since has performed at some of the top clubs in New York City such as the New York Comedy Club, Comic Strip Live, Broadway Comedy Club, and Caroline's on Broadway. In 2016 Ankara started a weekly podcast, "The Gone Girls", interviewing people from all walks of life which includes a cold read sketch segment. In 2017 "The Gone Girls" performed their first live show at Carolines on Broadway to a sold out audience of more than 300 people. She continued studying improvisation at the Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT) in 2017 and is a member of two independent improv teams "Homeroom" and "The Jayne's", which were both accepted into 2018 ImprovFest. In 2019, she became a member of the house team, 6 foot baby; which performs weekly at The Pit. She is constantly creating fresh and unique content through various online outlets and comedic web series, which reaches hundreds of thousands of views. His clients include: Bernadette Peters, Montel Williams, Michelle Rodriguez and hundreds of other talented actors. His students are currently performing on Broadway, on tour, on television and in feature films. He is the writer of the feature film, “Mona“, which won the Best Picture award at the Malibu Film Festival. He is the writer/director of the feature film “Heterosexuals”, starring Natasha Lyonne, Ashley Williams and Tovah Feldshuh. All the actors playing major roles in “Mona” were current or former students. And nine of the roles in “Heterosexuals” were played by current or former students. As artistic director of the New Avenue Theatre Project he directed the stage version of “Heterosexuals“, along with other original plays by actors turned playwright. He directed , and co-wrote with Alex Lyras, the solo show “Unequalibrium” which was published in Best New Plays of 2002 and was nominated for a Dramalogue Award. A piece from the play was also published in Best Male Monologues for the 21st Century. The McCaskill-Lyras team also wrote “The Common Air” which was nominated, in Los Angeles, for an Ovation Award (in playwriting) and a Dramalogue Award (in direction). McCaskill-Lyras have been commissioned to develop new television shows three times: by NBC, by Fox Broadcasting and by 20th Century Fox. They have also had deals with Bruckheimer Productions and Joel Silver Productions. He directed the world premiere “The Bohemians” by Bryan Delaney at Carnegie Hall. Mr. McCaskill was a writer / performer in the In-House sketch comedy group at the West Bank Downstairs Theater Bar, where he performed with comedian Lewis Black and writer Lisa Loomer (“Girl Interrupted”). He was an actor and director with the professional improv company Chicago City Limits. He studied with Stella Adler, Wynn Handman, Bob McAndrew and Tim Phillips.

Ariel continues to hone his craft with master teachers Wynn Handman, Terry Schreiber, and Bob Krakower. Part 1 Eve Of Beltane Cast: Nellie O’Brien as Jenny O’LearyNellie O’Brien - has performed in many national and local venues including the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, The Westchester Broadway Theatre, Tarrytown Music Hall, The Emelin Theatre, White Plains Center for the Performing Arts, Salt City Center and The Performing Arts Foundation. She has TV, radio, voiceovers, comedy improv and cabaret to her credit and was a recipient of the Irene Ryan Award for Excellence in Acting. A former TV and Radio anchor, producer and correspondent, she is the president of Compelle! Communications, a company specializing in media training, presentation skills, spokeswork and message development. .Richard Mazda as Johnny Aiden MillerRichard Mazda is a writer, director, producer, actor, singer and musician. Born in the UK and now residing in NYC. Mazda received an award American Society of Composers, Authors and Producers (ASCAP) award for the Billboard R&B hit, “How Long.” Film Mazda appeared in major films, including Harry Potter and Philospher’s Stone, Saving Private Ryan, Love Actually, and Batman Begins as well as TV shows like BBC’s Eastenders and the ITV prison drama Bad Girls. London stage includes Canterbury in Edward II, Polonius in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead and Jimmy in Home James. In early 2005 he founded The Queens Players, an acting troupe that would go on to produce over 40 main-stage productions such as Macbeth, Cyrano De Bergerac, Edward II, As You Like It, Othello, The Importance of Being Earnest as well as original plays by Mazda, including All The Wild Horses, Pirate Pete, Touch of Death, and The Poacher’s Game. In 2007 Mazda founded the Secret Theatre, a 50-seat black box performance space in Long Island City, Queens. Two years later he expanded it to include a second 99-seat house. Currently, the Secret Theatre complex houses three performance rehearsal spaces and one studio/rehearsal space. The Secret Theatre and The Queens Players have become fixtures in the arts scene in Queens. Recent directing credits include a sold out run of Hair, Much Ado About Nothing.
