(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Praying at home may be illegal under Scottish abortion law Scotland is banning silent prayer in private homes, according to one interpretation of new pro-abortion legislation passed by the nation's parliament As reported in the UK Telegraph, a letter has been sent to residents in an Edinburgh zone explicitly stating that: “Activities in a private place (such as a house) within the area between the protected premises and the boundary of a zone could be an offense if they can be seen or heard within the zone and are done intentionally or recklessly.” Anybody living within 200 meters of an abortion clinic in Scotland is forbidden from praying silently. Those breaking the law will be subject to a fine up to 10,000 pounds or perhaps even an evening in the lion's den. The Scottish law reminds us of Daniel 6: 6-7 and 11. It says, “So, these governors and satraps thronged before the king, and said thus to him: ‘King Darius, live forever! All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.' “Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.” Eight people killed in missile attack on Lebanese church At least eight people were killed in a missile attack on a Christian church in Lebanon over the weekend.  The church building, a priest's house, and a 3-story office building for the Greek Catholic Church were destroyed in the attack. According to a report from Christian Today, “the church had been sheltering people displaced by Israeli airstrikes at the time of the attack.” Hezbollah drone strike killed 4 Israeli soldiers In other war news, a Hezbollah drone strike on Israel killed four soldiers and wounded 61 others over the weekend. The United States is delivering an advanced anti-missile system to Israel. The Terminal High Altitude Area Defense requires some 100 personnel to operate, and includes 6-truck-mounted launching devices. The system can intercept missiles at ranges up to 125 miles. China deployed ships to block Taiwanese ports Communist China's People's Liberation Army deployed ships and a record 125 aircraftsurrounding Taiwan over the weekend, and blockading Taiwanese ports. China's defense ministry also threatened more military action for any promotion of Taiwan's independence “until the issue is entirely resolved." Taiwan recording 280 homosexual faux marriage per month Back in 2019, Taiwan approved of homosexual faux marriage and provided for homosexual couple adoptions last year. The nation is now recording over 280 homosexual faux-marriages each month.  Taiwan's social disintegration was further accentuated this year, as the nation's population began declining for the first time. The nation's fertility rate is now at 0.87 children per woman— almost the lowest in the world. Archeologists unearthed Armenian church from AD 350 Archeologists have uncovered what is believed to be an ancient church in Artaxata, Armenia — dating around A.D. 350. The structure was built in the shape of a cross, and ran about 100 feet in circumference. King Tiridates III of Armenia was converted to Christianity in A.D. 301 at which time Armenia became the first Christian country in the world. The recently discovered remains of the church was built in the city where the king resided. The oldest Christian house church construction thus far identified by archeologists is found in Syria, on the banks of the Euphrates River in Dura-Europos — dating back to A.D. 232. The house church included a baptismal font and pictures of The "Good Shepherd," the "Healing of the paralytic," and "Christ and Peter walking on the water.” NASA's Europa Clipper looking for life on Jupiter's moon And finally, NASA ANNOUNCER: “10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Ignition and liftoff. Liftoff of the Europa Clipper, unveiling the mysteries of an enormous ocean lurking beneath the icy crust of Jupiter's moon Europa.” NASA is spending $5.2 billion of taxpayers' money on this space craft which launched at noon yesterday from Cape Canaveral, Florida now heading towards Europa, one of Jupiter's 95 moons. The craft's mission will be to explore the icy surface of the moon, in hopes of finding life, or the potential for life existing beyond planet Earth — which God created specifically for animal and human life.  The Europa Clipper is the largest spaceship ever to launch from this planet — about 100 feet across, built to travel 1.8 billion miles, with the expectation of arriving in April of 2030. Psalm 8:3-6 features this meditation about God's world: “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained. What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. A graph of FSU membership growth up to the end of August was shared on our social media channels this week and it is impossible to miss the moment at which the new government began its crackdown on free expression in Britain. As listeners and viewers will already know, one of this government's earliest anti-free expression decisions was to shelve the Higher Education (Freedom of Speech) Act. The Telegraph revealed this week that Professor Arif Ahmed, who was to be the first director for freedom of speech and academic freedom at the Office for Students, has been named as an interested party on the FSU's application for a Judicial Review of the Education Secretary's decision. This means that he will be able to make written submissions to the High Court and also appear in person with a barrister to challenge the Government on its arguments. The FSU's chief legal counsel, Dr Bryn Harris, is quoted in the article, “These proceedings are of the highest constitutional importance. For almost 350 years, the governance of this country has rested on a golden premise: ministers of the Crown may not set aside the law made by Parliament”. Underlining the urgent need for the (now paused) Higher Education Act to be activated, the Telegraph has also reported on the extent to which students on campus are scared to speak their mind for fear of being cancelled. Meanwhile, yet another ludicrous speech code was revealed this week in the Mail, this time at the World Intellectual Property Organisation, a UN agency. The latest target of the speech police is gendered language, meaning no more fishermen, Englishmen or, rather oddly, lumberjacks. Finally, two religious groups have independently raised concerns about the All Party Parliamentary Definition of Islamophobia that appears to be looming ever larger on the legislative road ahead. The Network of Sikh Organisations has written to the Deputy Prime Minister saying that this definition would negatively impact the ability of people to freely discuss religion, speak openly about historical truths, and cause an amplification of a government hierarchy for different faiths. Separately, Christian Today raises concerns that Christians who deny Islam is a saving faith could also fall foul of the law.   ‘That's Debatable!'  is edited by Jason Clift.

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark 10 years since 13,000 Christian families fled Mosul, Iraq This month marks 10 years since the Islamic State seized control of the city of Mosul and the Nineveh Plains in northern Iraq. Over 13,000 Christian families fled the area. Iraqi forces finally liberated Mosul from ISIS in 2017. But the conflict left the city in ruins. Since then, about 9,000 families have returned. Archbishop Bashar Warda of Erbil told Christian Today, “Churches are being filled again. … All those sad and terrifying memories are still there, but at least [the Christian families] could start building and showing that the future is in [their] hands.”  Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ in Iraq, ranked 16th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian.  Psalm 147:2-3 says, “The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Right-wing parties picked up seats in European Union The European Union held elections over the last week for membership in the European Parliament. Centrist parties retained dominance in the parliament. However, right-wing parties picked up seats at the expense of left-wing parties. If the conservative parties united, they would form the second largest bloc in the parliament.  Nile Gardiner, a British conservative commentator, told Fox News the elections were “a massive rejection of open borders, mass migration, the far left, green agenda that is being pushed by many European governments. … This was one of the most significant electoral outcomes in recent European history.” Gardiner also said this. GARDINER: “In continental Europe, I think there are real sweeping ideological political changes that are taking place whereby European electorates have really had enough of ruling left wing elites that have been in power for such a long time. They want to see change. They want to see secure borders. They want to see an end to mass migration.” European Christians who take a stand for Biblical morality are despised Christians in the United Kingdom are facing marginalization for their beliefs. A report by Voice for Justice UK found those who oppose sexually perverted lifestyles are the most likely to face attack.  Fifty-six percent of the Christian respondents reported experiencing hostility for sharing their religious beliefs. That number rose to 61% for those under 35. The report noted, “Often respondents felt that discrimination against other religions was given attention; what was ignored was discrimination against the Christian faith.” In Matthew 10:32, Jesus said, “Whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in Heaven.” U.S. doctors' group: Stop puberty blockers and surgeries for confused kids In the United States, the American College of Pediatricians issued the Doctors Protecting Children Declaration last Thursday.  The declaration calls on U.S. medical organizations to "follow the science and their European professional colleagues and immediately stop the promotion of social affirmation, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries for children and adolescents who experience distress over their biological sex.”  Eighteen medical groups and nearly 100 healthcare professionals have signed the statement.  Nvidia worth $3 trillion American tech company Nvidia  surpassed $3 trillion in market capitalization last Wednesday. Nvidia produces most of the semiconductor chips used by Artificial Intelligence technology. The company's stock surged nearly 150% this year. It's now the second most valuable company in the world, outpacing Apple but still behind Microsoft.  Hunter Biden found guilty On Tuesday, a federal jury found Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, guilty of three felony charges. Prosecutors accused Hunter of lying about his drug use history in order to purchase a revolver in 2018. Dept. of Justice Special Counsel David Weiss  commented on Hunter Biden having been found guilty. WEISS: “Earlier today, Hunter Biden was convicted of two counts of lying on a form submitted to a federal firearms dealer about his addiction, or use of crack cocaine, and possessing a firearm while a user or addict. “There have been two overarching themes emphasized by the prosecution during trial: this defendants illegal choices and the rule of law. “First, while there has been much testimony about the defendant's abuse of drugs and alcohol, ultimately, this case was not just about addiction. This case was about the illegal choices defendant made while in the throes of addiction, his choice to lie on a government form when he bought a gun, and the choice to then possess that gun. It was these choices, and the combination of guns and drugs, that made his conduct dangerous. “Second, no one in this country is above the law. Everyone must be accountable for their actions, even this defendant.” Hunter Biden could face up to 25 years in prison. The incident predates Joe Biden's move to the White House. But CNN notes, “The conviction marks the first time a president's immediate family member has been found guilty of a crime during their father's term in office.”  America's political divide Pew Research released a new survey on Americans' views on cultural issues ahead of the 2024 presidential election.  Voters are deeply divided generally based on whether they support President Joe Biden or former President Donald Trump. Ninety percent of Trump supporters say gender is determined by sex at birth, while only 39% of Biden voters say the same. Eighty-eight percent of Biden voters support legalizing abortion in all or most cases. Only 38% of Trump voters agree. Trump supporters were also more likely than Biden voters to say the Bible should influence U.S. laws.  Arkansas' abortions dropped from 1,600 to 0 For the year 2023, Arkansas reported no abortions in the state. The state's abortion ban went into effect in June 2022, outlawing nearly all abortions. Arkansas reported over 3,000 abortions in 2021 and 1,600 abortions in 2022.  The Arkansas Family Council celebrated the news but also warned against a ballot initiative to make abortion a right in the state's constitution. The group's president, Jerry Cox, said the state's laws are “protecting women, and they are saving unborn children. That is something to celebrate.” What prompted homeschool mom of 8 to give $1,000 to The Worldview Last night, I called Meggan in Register, Georgia who recently donated $1,000 toward The Worldview's annual fundraiser. A homeschool mother of eight between the ages of 2 and 16, she told me what she likes about the newscast. MEGGAN: “It just helps us, as believers, to see modern day events from the Biblical perspective and not to get so anxious about the things that we see in the news, but to always be mindful that everything is in God's hands.” She especially liked our occasional inclusion of uplifting and positive stories. MEGGAN: “You don't always just have the doom and gloom. There's always something positive in there. Some child did some personal business that was super successful and the community supporting them. So, I love how it's not just negative news, but positive news.” I asked Meggan what prompted her to sacrificially give a $1,000 gift. MEGGAN: “My mother passed away last year and she left me an inheritance in an IRA. I like to give a tithe from there. And so, I like to support these different ministries that I've enjoyed the fruits of all of your labor, behind the scenes, to produce these things that I haven't been able to give near as much before that now, thanks to my mother, I'm able to, kind of, spread the wealth.” She challenged other Worldview listeners to make a donation no matter how small. MEGGAN: “Well, there's no time like the present to give because tomorrow is not promised. Oftentimes, it's very easy to procrastinate and let the day to day things bog us down, and we forget about things that we want to do sometimes. “Twenty-five dollars, $10, $5 are still very important contributions. A little bit can go a long way. I know that y'all are very good stewards financially. It is a very difficult economy. On Friday 26 May this year, James Macintyre was advised to go to Accident & Emergency, after experiencing stomach pains. He was sent immediately to ICU, where he was diagnosed with acute or “severe” pancreatitis. He would spend the next four months in hospital, which included two months in the ICU and five weeks in a coma. Doctors thought that he might not survive. On the podcast this week, James talks about how the experience has shaped his faith, and given him renewed appreciation of family, friends, medical staff, and parish priests. As he wrote in the Church Times last month (Comment, 27 October): “There was no hiding from the notion that I'd been given a second chance, an opportunity, to repent of past sins, to keep away from bad habits, and to head in a different direction.” James Macintyre is a journalist who has worked for publications including The Independent, The New Statesman, and Christian Today. It's Wednesday, November 8th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Nepalese pastor's year-long prison sentence upheld Last month, the Supreme Court of Nepal upheld a one-year prison sentence for a pastor. Officials charged Pastor Keshab Raj Acharya under the country's anti-conversion law. His wife told Christian Today the government is using the case to set an example and deter Christians in the Hindu-majority country from sharing their faith. The anti-conversion law went into effect in 2018. Since then, Nepali Christians have faced increased persecution, including false accusations and violence. In Matthew 5:11-12, Jesus said, “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in Heaven.” Russia withdraws from treaty Russia formally withdrew from the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe yesterday. In response, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, known as NATO, also pulled out of the Cold War-era security pact. The treaty was meant to keep the Cold War powers from amassing troops near each other's borders. This comes less than a week after Russia also revoked its ratification of a nuclear treaty that banned nuclear weapons tests. This only increases the already high tensions between NATO and Russia since Russia invaded Ukraine last year. Speaker Johnson: We need to secure American border before Ukrainian border Speaking of Ukraine, the U.S. House of Representatives is considering linking aid to Ukraine with increased security at the U.S.-Mexico border. Republican Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana is the new House Speaker. He told Fox News we have to secure our border first. JOHNSON: “We can do all of these things together. But when you couple Ukraine and the border that makes sense to people because they say, ‘If we're going to protect Ukraine's border, but we have to take care of our own border first.' And that's what we're saying. This is policy changes that are necessary. “There's a growing consensus in the Congress, certainly amongst Republicans, but also even some across the aisle who recognize we have to change what is happening. Over 6.3 million illegal crossings since Joe Biden took office.” The House also approved aid for Israel last week in a plan to reallocate over $14 billion away from the IRS. Christian wins public school religious liberty case A Christian woman who was a public school student in Chicago won a $150,000 settlement last month in a religious liberty case. Back in February, Mariyah Green sued the Chicago Board of Education for a Quiet Time program that was implemented at her school during the 2018-2019 school year. The program, known as Transcendental Meditation, was originally developed by a Hindu. Green said the school expected her to chant a mantra and honor Hindu deities as part of the program.  Despite what she believed to be an attack on her faith, Green told The Christian Post she hopes God continues to use her to "spread the Gospel and also to help people.” Texas vs. Planned Parenthood The state of Texas is taking Planned Parenthood to court in a $1.8 billion fraud case. Texas accuses the abortion giant of fraudulently obtaining state Medicaid funds. Texas terminated Planned Parenthood as a Medicaid provider back in 2021. The judge in the case is U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk. He was appointed by President Donald Trump. Kacsmaryk is also the judge who ruled back in April against the FDA's approval of the Abortion Kill Pill.  Fifty-three percent of mothers who abort their unborn babies due so chemically. 37% of Americans think we did not evolve A new poll from Suffolk University/USA TODAY asked people across America what they believe about evolution. Twenty-nine percent of respondents said humans evolved into their present form without divine intervention; 24% said humans evolved but under God's direction; and 37% said humans did not evolve but were created in their present form by God. Belief in creation by God without evolution was strongest among Republicans, older people, and people with no more than a high school degree.  Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Franklin Graham preached in Rome, Italy And finally, nearly 20,000 people attended an outreach event in Rome, Italy this week led by Evangelist Franklin Graham with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. It was the largest evangelical outreach event in Italy's history. Before the event, Graham said, “Rome is filled with centuries of history, culture and religion, but I'm not coming to talk about these things. I'm coming to Rome to share how we can all have a real and personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ.” GRAHAM: “Will you invite Christ to come into your life? If you've never done that, if you're here tonight and you're not sure that your sins are forgiven, you can make sure right now. You're not coming to Franklin Graham.  I cannot save you. Christianity offers the opportunity to have a personal relationship with God, who is seen as a loving and caring father figure. Forgiveness and Redemption are other great reasons.Christianity teaches that all people are sinners and fall short of God's standards, but that through faith in Christ Jesus, people can be forgiven and redeemed. Another reason is there is Community and Support. Many Christians find community and support within their church or faith community, which can be especially valuable during difficult times.Hope for the Future. That's a good reason. We believe in the promise of eternal life with God after death, which provides comfort and hope in the face of life's challenges. My name is Toby Sumpter and today is Tuesday, May 24, 2022. https://www.christianitytoday.com/news/2022/may/southern-baptist-abuse-investigation-sbc-ec-legal-survivors.html Christianity Today, the failing flagship of lukewarm evangelicalism breathlessly broke a story over the weekend, alleging a massive cover up of abuse in the Southern Baptism Convention: “Armed with a secret list of more than 700 abusive pastors, Southern Baptist leaders chose to protect the denomination from lawsuits rather than protect the people in their churches from further abuse. Survivors, advocates, and some Southern Baptists themselves spent more than 15 years calling for ways to keep sexual predators from moving quietly from one flock to another. The men who controlled the Executive Committee (EC)—which runs day-to-day operations of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC)—knew the scope of the problem. But, working closely with their lawyers, they maligned the people who wanted to do something about abuse and repeatedly rejected pleas for help and reform. “Behind the curtain, the lawyers were advising to say nothing and do nothing, even when the callers were identifying predators still in SBC pulpits,” according to a massive third-party investigative report released Sunday.” OK, people. Take a deep breath and think like a Christian. This is the same kind of language we’ve seen countless times over the last number of years, and you need to know that it is language that is calculated to get you worked up. I’m not saying anything yet about the legitimacy of any claims or accusations. I’m only talking about the set up. The set up is more #metoo outrage, which is not the way the Bible says to handle accusations of abuse or coverups. Don’t get dragged into the outrage mob. Click on the link to the so-called report, and what do we find? A trigger warning at the top of the report. Again, this doesn’t mean there isn’t anything in the report that needs to be addressed. I don’t know. I didn’t read the whole report. But what I will say is that we are living in a cauldron of hot outrage that far too many Christians are eager to jump into. And you need to know that the point of the outrage is to get you to do things you wouldn’t ordinarily do, things you really shouldn’t do. In the same way that racial animosity has been weaponized to foment social unrest, so too are accusations of sexual abuse. Is racial animosity ever happening? Yes, of course. Is sexual abuse ever happening? Unfortunately, yes. But what we need are biblical standards of justice not outrage mobs and extra biblical committees, more civil government intrusion, and various other humanistic solutions. So here are some key things to be looking for as this story unfolds: are clear distinctions being made between sins and crimes? Sins are bad, but they are the jurisdiction of families and churches. Crimes are also sins, but they must be reported to the police for adjudication. The other thing to watch out for is the necessity of two or three independent witnesses. If you have one witness who accuses and an alleged perpetrator who denies the charges, there is nothing that can be done. You are required by God to presume the innocence of the accused. It is not a cover up to refuse to do anything with an accusation of sin that has no other witnesses. If the accusation is of a crime, you must report it to the police, but believe it or not, they often follow biblical guidelines of justice and if there is no credible evidence of wrongdoing, they will not bring any charges, and it’s not a cover up, if you’ve reported a matter and done everything you can to find evidence and decide to leave the matter there. Of course if this report has documented instances with multiple witnesses who are willing to testify and those accusations were shushed and swept under the carpet, then the appropriate authorities should be called to investigate and deliberate and rule. But what the SBC should absolutely refuse to do is create new committees of abuse awareness, abuse investigation, and certainly not allow state or federal government agencies into the workings of the church. A major part of this move over the last number of years has been to try to disqualify ordained ministers from doing the job Jesus assigned them to do. In the realm of sins, the minister of the gospel is authorized by Jesus to put things right, following Biblical due process guidelines. And when a minister of the gospel does that, He is not covering anything up. He is doing his job, and sin is being covered by the blood of Jesus, by Christian (which covers multitudes of sins), and no minister should ever apologize for doing that. This year our national conference is in Knoxville, TN October 6th-8th. The theme of this year’s conference is Lies, Propaganda, Storytelling and the Serrated Edge. For many years, Christians have largely surrendered to secular stories. We have assumed that beauty is merely in the eye of the beholder, and therefore, it’s all relative. But what if beauty is objective – that if the art of persuasion is something far deeper and more profound? What if words have the power of life and death? What if our words mimic God’s words, making and breaking whole worlds? Christians must certainly stand on the solid rock of truth, but we must also recover goodness and beauty, stories and song, with all of God’s Word, even the sharp parts, at the center. This is From a listener: Three Wisconsin boys are facing sexual harassment charges from their middle school over accusations that they used incorrect gender pronouns on a fellow student. "I received a phone call from the principal over at the elementary school, forewarning me; letting me know that I was going to be receiving an email with sexual harassment allegations against my son," Rosemary Rabidoux, a parent of one of the accused, told Fox 11 News last week. "I immediately went into shock. I’m thinking, sexual harassment? That’s rape, that’s inappropriate touching, that’s incest" Rabidoux continued. "What has my son done?" But none of the concerns Rabidoux had were at issue. Instead, her 13-year-old son, Braden, was accused of using incorrect pronouns to address another student at Kiel Middle School. "(The investigating principal) said he’s being allegedly charged with sexual harassment for not using proper pronouns," Rabidoux said. "I thought it wasn’t real. I thought this has got to be a gag, a joke – one has nothing to do with the other." Now her son and two other boys are being charged by school officials with Title IV violations, which prohibits gender-based harassment. The incident in question reportedly took place in March, when a student announced a preference of "they" and "them" to identify them. But Rabidoux said her son was merely sticking up for one of his friends. "She had been screaming at one of Braden’s friends to use proper pronouns, calling him profanity, and this friend is very soft-spoken, and kind of just sunk down into his chair," Rabidoux said. "Braden finally came up, defending him, saying ‘He doesn’t have to use proper pronouns, it’s his constitutional right to not use, you can’t make him say things.’" The mother told ABC 2 News that the new pronoun preference also caused confusion for her son, with her instructing him to just address the student by their name instead. "It’s plural. It doesn’t make sense to him. I said so, I told him to call them by their names." Rabidoux said. Now the parents are calling on the charges to be dismissed through an attorney with the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty. A few things here: First off: get your kids out of public school. Make the sacrifice. Do whatever it takes. Second: remember that it’s these same crazy people who are accusing the SBC of sexual abuse cover-ups. Again, I’m not saying there’s nothing to it. But I’m just saying we should have all kinds of skeptical when Christianity Today (that bastion of orthodusty) breathlessly shares the latest gossip. Lakewood-based Yeshiva Perchei Shoshanim, a Torah observant endorser of Chaplains to the United States Military, Army, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard has issued a letter that their Chaplians may apply for a religious exemption. However, the organization alleges that the Department of Defense across the board is virtually denying all religious applications to be exempt from having to vaccinate. 30 Chaplains from all branches of the service, including Air Force Chaplain Yirmeyahu Rodriguez, endorsee of Pirchei Shoshanim, have filed the lawsuit. Also named defendants, were the Secretary of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The action was filed in federal court in Tampa, FL. Davis Younts representing the Chaplains, released a press statement Saturday on behalf of his client Lt. Bill Moseley, noting that a board of three Navy officers had vindicated Lt. Moseley’s refusal to take the vaccine. However with the information coming down that the Navy and all other services intend to require blanket implementation without any religious exemptions, Lt. Moseley risked his twenty-two year career and military retirement because of his faith and commitment to his oath of office as a military leader. The lawsuit argues that members of the Chaplaincy should be allowed exemption on the basis of religion, and that it is not a lawful order to be required to take an experimental vaccine, especially since the particular version approved by the FDA is not even available to military members. Lakewood-based Yeshiva Perchei Shoshanim, a Torah observant endorser of Chaplains to the United States Military, Army, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard has issued a letter that their Chaplians may apply for a religious exemption. However, the organization alleges that the Department of Defense across the board is virtually denying all religious applications to be exempt from having to vaccinate. 30 Chaplains from all branches of the service, including Air Force Chaplain Yirmeyahu Rodriguez, endorsee of Pirchei Shoshanim, have filed the lawsuit. Also named defendants, were the Secretary of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The action was filed in federal court in Tampa, FL. Davis Younts representing the Chaplains, released a press statement Saturday on behalf of his client Lt. Bill Moseley, noting that a board of three Navy officers had vindicated Lt. Moseley’s refusal to take the vaccine. However with the information coming down that the Navy and all other services intend to require blanket implementation without any religious exemptions, Lt. Moseley risked his twenty-two year career and military retirement because of his faith and commitment to his oath of office as a military leader. The lawsuit argues that members of the Chaplaincy should be allowed exemption on the basis of religion, and that it is not a lawful order to be required to take an experimental vaccine, especially since the particular version approved by the FDA is not even available to military members. We've already explored the first two: Be so good they can't ignore you and be a friend. But those things clearly aren't enough. At some point, you have to identify yourself as a Christian!A few years ago, I stepped down as the CEO of a tech startup to focus full-time on creating content like these devotionals. Given the nature of my new work, I naturally started talking about my faith much more publicly on social media. In response to those posts, more than a couple of customers and co-workers from my past tech startup life messaged me and said, “Oh wow, I had no idea you were a Christian!” How tragic. Here's the deal: We shouldn't expect to have opportunities to share the gospel with our co-workers if we have yet to raise our hands and say “I'm a follower of Jesus!” What does this look like practically? How can you identify yourself as Christians in a natural, non-threatening way that doesn't cause your co-workers to avoid making eye contact with you? Here are 3 simple ideas:Ask everyone you come in contact with today, “How was your weekend?” And when they inevitably ask how your weekend was, talk about the incredible time of worship you participated in at your church.Ask your co-workers what they're reading. And again, when they reciprocate the question, talk about a book you've recently read about the Christian faith.Add something to your LinkedIn or Instagram bio that makes it explicitly clear that you're a follower of Jesus.None of these things, in and of themselves, are likely to lead someone to faith in Christ. But they are certainly steps in that direction! If you're a good friend and exceptionally good at what you do, the people you work with will care about what you believe about Jesus. But first, you have to tell them that you believe!May we not be like the Pharisees who believed in Jesus but refused to “openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out” of their social circles. Find small ways to acknowledge your faith in Christ today!

It is the brainchild of Richard Gamble, former chaplain of Leicester City Football Club. He says the Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer, standing more than 51 metres tall would ‘make hope visible to the UK’. Mr Gamble told Christian Today that it's been 16 years since the idea was floated. It is expected to attract 300,000 visitors a year and contribute £9.3 million to the local economy. Due to open in 2022, the site will include a visitor centre, café, bookstore and 24-hour onsite chaplaincy support service.SOLAR-POWERED BIBLESNew Life reports that people who can’t read can hear God’s Word with MegaVoice as solar-powered audio Bibles are reaching Kimberley Aboriginal people with the Gospel. He’s had so many requests that he’s run out of supplies.
