This week on America's Podcast, we've got an all-star lineup of rock maniacs! Joining us are Chris Czynszak from The Decibel Geek Podcast and Bushy AKA Nate Atchison from The Plug Music and More Podcast. So what happens when four hardcore KISS nerds and one poor soul who just kinda likes KISS sit down to discuss the Asylum era? Well… let's just say things get louder than Paul Stanley's stage banter in ‘86! But hey—no spoilers! You'll have to listen to the madness yourself. Tracks of the Week: Marc kicks things off with Kix—“No Ring Around Rosie” Chris brings the action with “Die Hard” by Nakatomi Plaza Nate gets epic with “Dry County” by Bon Jovi Mooger throws down a classic—“All Along the Watchtower” by Jimi Hendrix Jerry wraps it up with some Slade magic—“My Oh My” Until next week, go Uh! All Night and don't let ‘em see your Tears Are Falling! Follow, subscribe, and share—or Gene Simmons might charge you for this episode! #kiss #ayslum #rock #80s
S7E17 went out live on Rebel Rock Radio at 19h00 on 25 April 2024. As always it was a mixed bag of new and old, heavy and not so heavy. Listeners rated it the most fun ever. Note that if you listen to TSORR on Google Podcasts they are shutting it down. You can find us on plenty of other sites if this happens. The TSORR website will always be able to help. This week's Twisted Twins featured tracks called ‘Heartbreaker'. As happened last week we turned it into a Twisted Triplets with tracks called ‘Heartbreaker'. Led Zeppelin, Motörhead, and Dirty Honey did the honours. Immortals this week came from Bon Jovi off the Keep The Faith album. Clocking in at 9:52 we listened to ‘Dry County'. The Diabolical Challenge looked at four bands beginning with the letter ‘Q'. The idea is that we have 4 albums, and you can only pick one. This week we had: Quiet Riot – Metal HealthQ5 – Steel the LightQueen – Queen IIQueensrÿche - Empire Artists Featured: Raveneye, Sons of Liberty, Dead City Ruins, Suicide, Bombers, Brave Rival, the Doors, The Who, Judas Priest, Bruce Dickinson, Five Finger Death Punch, Megadeth, Massive Wagons, Saxon, Led Zeppelin, Motörhead, Dirty Honey, Pearl Jam, Seether, Papa Roach, The Offspring, Creed, Hinder, Mastodon, Newsted, Wolf, Wolfmother, mammoth WVH, Bon Jovi, Quiet Riot, Q5, Queen, Queensrÿche, Arno Carstens, Johnathan Martin, Die Toten Hosen, Böhse Onkelz, Kerry KingThe Story of Rock and Roll. Bill and Darrell discuss self awareness of AI. They disagree. They smoke the New Cuba Corojo with Herman Marshall Dry Country. This is a sweetened tip cigar and Bill discusses it. Bill discusses going to Paris, Texas. Sorry to flat earthers, but we dog the theory in this episode. Since they drink the Dry County, they discuss the dry county policies in Texas and trail off into a discussion of terrible bottles. https://futurism.com/the-byte/ai-realizes-being-tested

Football and beer tend to go together without much thought. But in places like Pope County, Arkansas, alcohol is noticeably absent from tailgate coolers, plastic Solo cups, and concession stands. That's because the area, which is home to Arkansas Tech University, is also one of the state's 29 dry counties, where access to alcohol is restricted thanks to political influence, conservative mindsets, and tradition left from the time of Prohibition. In his first piece for Good Beer Hunting titled “No Blitz — How Arkansas Tech University Fans Tailgate in a Dry County,” freelance writer Brian Sorenson portrays a small, but proud slice of the American South, where sports like football dominate much of the culture. That culture, he says, lags behind the more liberal coastal areas of the United States, but that doesn't mean it's less worthy of attention. In our conversation, he describes his hope for readers and listeners to set aside their notions of what they think Arkansas is like, and to instead experience it through fresh eyes and open minds. You'll hear about his background in beer, football, writing, and the state of Arkansas, where he grew up used to rowdy sports fans fueled by alcohol. For this story, he was fascinated by the idea of separating the two, and shares some of the surprises he came across while writing the piece. It's an insider's look at seemingly contradictory ideologies, and it's likely you'll walk away with a new framework from which to view a different, but beautiful, way of life.

What's up, party people? Dry County Brewing Co. is about the celebrate their 6th anniversary. We've known founder Trey Sinclair since the brewery was just a dream. Well, mostly. We met Trey when he was contract brewing a couple beers and spreading the word about them around his hometown. When the brewery was just being built we stopped by for a preview. Check it out right here.... https://youtu.be/_VeAUJv2th4 Since our preview way back in 2016 DCBC has expanded to offer spirits and cider along with their brews and they're about to move to a fancy new location. On the spirit side they've got frozen cocktails in the taproom and a line of RTDs (that's "ready to drink" canned cocktails) that are extremely popular. Trey joined us and brought along Director of Hoperations Winn Chastain and Head Brewer Ryan Polk. They shared some of their beers and cocktails as we bitched more about seasonal creep, pondered pairings for their Lechuza line of Mexican lagers, discussed the growing trend back towards more West Coast(ish) IPAs and discussed the agave shortage. There's some tasty stuff coming out of Dry County Brewing. Check 'em out.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Bottleshare founder Christopher Glenn lives to help those in need Last week we sat down at Bottleshare Benefit Bash Vol. 1 to talk with Bottleshare founder Christopher Glenn as well as his collaboration partners Trey Sinclair of Dry County Brewing and Sean O'Keefe of Pontoon Brewing. Chris' story is pretty amazing, after a serious accident left him unable to return to his previous career his former boss (Sinclair) shared an idea he had for "The Bottleshare." Chris was excited, ran with it, and has grown it into something much bigger than the original idea. Bottleshare's motto is Raising Glasses, Raising Hopes and their mission is to help those in the craft beverage industry that face hardships that pose a financial burden. At the Benefit Bash, Chris presented a check for $15,000 to Jennifer Barnes, widow of Modern Hops co-founder Philip Barnes. [caption id="attachment_46754" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Bottleshare founder Christopher Glenn presents a check for $15,000 to Jennifer Barnes, widow of Modern Hops co-founder Philip Barnes, at the Bottleshare Benefit Bash Vol 1.[/caption] Collaboration is key Glenn tells us many times how the support of Dry County and Sinclair helped grow Bottleshare. One of the ways the organization raises funds is through collaboration beers. Dry County was Bottleshare's first collaboration partner and have partnered with them on other beers as well. More collaborations are coming up from breweries like Atlanta's New Realm and New Orleans' Urban South. Although slightly delayed due to some medical needs, early this year Glenn will embark on his #RGSA2020 tour. That's Raising Glasses, Saving Asses; a slight spin on the core slogan. RGSA will take Bottleshare across the US with stops in New Orleans and Denver already scheduled. The mission is to raise awareness of the organization, brew up some collaborations, and find partners for their new Bottleshare Collective. Lincoln Fill Station has been bringing craft beer to Snellville, Georgia for several years. They also are the home of a little Beer Guys history - the site of our very first live broadcast. We joined Tiny and the crew at TinyPalooza 3.5 once again this year, and sampled a great variety of beers on tap. We also got to chat with Trey Sinclair and Steve Anderson. The Dry County Brewing company gents were celebrating with Tiny and drinking some great beer. We were able to catch up with them, and talk all things Dry County, including their forays into coffee and distilling. Owen Ogletree also stopped by to talk about the upcoming Classic City Brew Fest. Hi there, this is Callum, I’m the new intern here at SILENCE! My first real task is to write a blurb for Gary and The Beast. I’ll try to do as good a job as I can because I love SILENCE! and the Mr. Die and Mr. Lactus have promised me a well paid job if I perform well. They’re great guys and are always joshing and laughing. They laughed loads when they told me about all the money I’ll be making here at SILENCE! after my 4 year apprenticeship comes to an end. So first we start with a song lyric. I CAN FEEL IT COMING IN THE AIR TONIGHT OH LORD Hope they like that one, it’s one of my granpa’s faves. Then it’s basically a list of the things they talked about in the episode but you have to make it interesting somehow as the blurb is the most important part of the podcast; everyone reads it and it’s really important. So, my brilliant bosses did a really great episode of SILENCE! this week. They did lots of really funny talking and are great guys. I liked it when they talked about sponsorship and the very exciting special 250th issue of SILENCE! which is just around the corner. I liked it when Mr. Die talked about Maria Bamford and Mr. Lactus talked about Daniel Kitson. Then I liked it when SILENCE! Because the Film Has Started with Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther and Lake Mungo Then I liked it when The Reviewniverse with Mister Miracle and Ice Cream Man and Crawl Space and By This Shall You Know Him and Vampironica and Dry County and Tailgunner Jo then I liked it when it ended and then I went home for tea.

In this episode No Dry County - a band from Lubbock Texas, joins me in the studio for an interview, a few beers, and the first live performance in the new digs. No Dry County online No Dry County carries the torch for a new generation of young artists traveling the circuit here in Texas. It’s country and americana music infused with classic rock and roll, then left to simmer, filling the room with the sound of success. It’s heartfelt music filled with lyrics about real life, real places and real people. It’s the kind of music that everyone can relate to. Attend any live show and you’ll notice that this band from Lubbock, TX has the ability to cross cultural as well as generational boundaries with their sound and energy. After giving up jobs and moving into a van, the band has made their living playing over 140 dates last year pushing their debut EP. Now with another year of experience, NDC is poised to make another strong push with the release of their sophomore album “To Whom it May Concern”. Traveling mostly in Texas and the Midwest, the group is paying dues and rapidly gaining popularity. Look for No Dry County this fall as they make stops in Denver, Kansas City, Chicago, St. Louis, Nashville, Oklahoma City, Texas and everywhere in between.
