Today on the show we have renaissance filmmaker Tanner Beard. I Had the pleasure of meeting him at the Mammoth Film Festival this year. His adventures in Hollywood are pretty amazing.Tanner Beard is a film and television actor, producer and director as well as CEO of Silver Sail Entertainment and Mammoth Film Festival. SSE was created during the industry strike of 2008 with a concentration on cultivating professional media content without sacrificing the integrity and artistic vision of the content creators themselves.Tanner has since produced various projects including a travel show, award-winning short films, award-winning documentaries, commercials, music videos and multiple seasons of a web-based television series. His feature film producer credits include critically acclaimed ‘Hellion” starring Aaron Paul and Juliette Lewis, and ‘Legend of Hell's Gate,' which he also wrote, directed and starred in alongside Eric Balfour, Henry Thomas, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Summer Glau, Kevin Alejandro, and Lou Taylor Pucci. Mammoth Film Festival was named by the press as “the biggest first-year film festival ever created” in 2018.In early 2015, Tanner Beard entered into a four-film partnership with iconic Oscar-Nominated Director Terrance Malick and producer Sarah Green. ‘Knight of Cups‘ stars Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, and Natalie Portman. The only documentary of the partnership, ‘Voyage of Time,' was produced alongside Brad Pitt, who also narrates the film. Tales of Horror continues with the team tackling 1974's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and the 2003 remake, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which is also celebrating its 20th anniversary! Directed by Tobe Hooper and co-written by Hooper and Kim Henkel, the 1974 film stars Marilyn Burns, Paul A. Pertain, Edwin Neal, Jim Siedow, and Gunnar Hansen, and follows a group of friends who fall victim to a family of cannibals while on their way to visit an old homestead. The 2003 remake is directed by Marcus Nispel, in his feature directorial debut, and it was written by Scott Kosar. Starring Jessica Biel, Jonathan Tucker, Erica Leershen, Mike Vogel, Eric Balfour, and R. Lee Ermey, the film follows a group of young adults traveling through rural Texas who encounter Leatherface (Andrew Bryniarski) and his murderous family. Well after the highs of season 5 of 24, we are now at the dreaded season 6 as we continue our recap series. But is this season really that bad? Can we defend it? And how will we survive covering it? Let's find out by starting at the very beginning by recapping episode 1 of season 6, 6am-7am! Why are we heavily invested early on with some of the storylines? How many plot holes can we already nit pick about? Why did Kiefer apparently only find out that this was a good show in this episode? How excited are we to talk about Peter MacNicol and Marisol Nichols, as well as the returning Eric Balfour? Is there a contender for a top 5 scene already in this episode? What do we think of Fayed as a villain? Do we like Kal Penn as a villain? And why is vampire Jack the one scene we've all been waiting for? Tick and click into another season of 24 action and listen to the episode! ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
Ryan (Go Tell Someone Podcast Network) returns again to spread the love and joy of seeing the actors from the military/spy shows, 24 and The Unit on today's episode. Everyone from the apparent ones (Elisha Cuthbert, Dennis Haysbert, Kiefer, Kim Raver, Max Martini, Robert Patrick) to the less discussed yet just as invaluable talents (Eric Balfour, Reiko Aylesworth, Demores Barnes, Michael Irby, Glenn Morshower, Greg Itzin, Annie Wersching, Roger Cross) and the now established actor turned directors (Carlos Bernard) gets a huge mention. Don't miss out!

Horsemen seems to have gotten memory-holed immediately after the fest circuit (or...during production by much of the below-the-line talent?), and with good reason -- it's bafflingly poor, studded with visual clichés, its actors apparently undirected, its script evidently without access to a Bible despite basing its tortuously contrived serial-killer procedural plot on more than one book therein. It's got a grieving-family subplot that should have come to the foreground, and a couple of actors -- including Quaid! -- who could have carried that version of the movie, but the version we got is a disorganized Seven For Teens with a crumbly topping of dated kink-shaming. A lot of the cast is either straight-up wasted in this mess or doing more than they need to, but Quaid is actually not bad. "The trailer is what I wanted this movie to be." This week, the Brides head back to Texas for a recap of the most aggressively "meh" film in our podcast's short history: the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This is one of the most toothless, gutless, boring entries in the early 2000s American remake-a-palooza (this is the one that started it all, so....you're welcome?). It's even more aggravating because the original film is so wildly unsettling and transgressive, and there's nothing unsettling or transgressive about this thing. Along the way, the Brides discuss the two or three things that make this movie kind of palatable, namely OG TCM cinematographer Daniel Pearl's return and his GORGEOUS use of light - seriously, this movie looks spectacular. We also marvel at how long Eric Balfour played a teenager on film, Alysa shares her era-appropriate crush on Mike Vogel, and how every single person in this movie is definitely trying their hardest, but to what end? TO WHAT END?! If you want a 2003 movie with gross chainsaw content, definitely go for Alejandre Aja's Haute Tension instead of this slog. Also, we ponder the effectiveness of curing human meat like a nice prosciutto. And seriously, go watch the trailer for this movie. It's one of the best trailers ever made, which makes the actual film's soullessness all the more annoying. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. 2003. Directed by Marcus Nispel. Written by Scott Kosar. Starring Jessica Biel, Mike Vogel, Eric Balfour, Erika Leerhsen, Jonathan Tucker, and R. Lee Ermey.

His feature film producer credits include critically acclaimed 'Hellion" starring Aaron Paul and Juliette Lewis, and 'Legend of Hell's Gate,' which he also wrote, directed and starred in alongside Eric Balfour, Henry Thomas, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Summer Glau, Kevin Alejandro, and Lou Taylor Pucci. Mammoth Film Festival was named by the press as "the biggest first-year film festival ever created" in 2018.In early 2015, Tanner Beard entered into a four-film partnership with iconic Oscar Nominated Director Terrance Malick and producer Sarah Green. 'Knight of Cups' stars Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, and Natalie Portman. The only documentary of the partnership, 'Voyage of Time,' was produced alongside Brad Pitt, who also narrates the film. This is Polina's first time watching and she explains the first fifteen minutes set up a satire that the rest of the movie did not pay off. Due to her habit of fast forwarding, Diana has memories of a more emotionally stable version of John Cusack's Eddie. A movie publicist deals with the messy public split of his movie's co-stars while keeping reporters at bay while a reclusive director holds the film's print hostage. No Sell Entertainment's movie review podcast takes on the 2010 film "Skyline" starring Eric Balfour, Scottie Thompson, Donald Faison, and Brittany Daniels.
On this week's episode, the gang welcomes Chelsea Jupin into the studio as they try to tackle one of the biggest questions in the universe: why did they make What Women Want? How much did it pain Mel to have to sing and dance and put on lipstick for this film? Why did they bother with that suicide subplot? And have two actors had less chemistry on screen than Helen Hunt and Mel Gibson in this film? PLUS: Alan Alda gets notes from the future! What Women Want stars Mel Gibson, Helen Hunt, Alan Alda, Marisa Tomei, Ashley Johnson, Mark Feuerstein, Lauren Holly, Delta Burke, Valerie Perrine, Judy Greer, Sarah Paulson, Ana Gasteyer, Lisa Edelstein, Loretta Devine, and Eric Balfour; directed by Nancy Meyers.
After adding another cookie to the SCL (Standard Cookie List), K&K share about why a particular sports story hurt their heart. The duo is then joined by actor Eric Balfour, who opens up about fame, whether he wants more or less of it, and how yoga has helped him deal with Hollywood. Plus, celebrity fitness and nutrition coach, Adam Rosante, stops by to offer some tricks of the trade.
In the second episode of Fire Bad, Tree Pretty, Amanda and Lydia discuss S01E02 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "The Harvest." Points of interest: Lydia's bondage fantasies, thundering needs, Willow is a giant toddler, Xander's fragile masculinity, Angel's security skeleton, Xacto beheading, Joyce puts her foot down very softly, leg weight assisted accidental dusting, Luke is a moron, and why does no one ever mention Jesse again?
In the inaugural episode of Fire Bad, Tree Pretty, Amanda and Lydia discuss S01E01 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "Welcome to the Hellmouth." Points of interest: Break-in make-outs, deadly vamp-spestos, Giles foisting his VAMPYR book on every student who comes into the library, weird mom Joyce, Lydia's ardent and confusing love of Eric Balfour, and the scourge of crushed velvet.

I suspect Neil Hopkins might see himself as a man THISCLOSE to a career breakthrough. You probably know him best as Liam Pace, Charlie’s heroin-addicted brother and bandmate in a couple of backwards-looking episodes of ABC’s “Lost.” He's also had recurring roles on HBO’s “Big Love” and the Starz series, “Crash,” and played the long-lost brother of Dr. McNamara on FX’s “Nip/Tuck.” NEIL HOPKINS audio excerpt: "They had written all these different lyrics for the song; 'You All Everybody' was just the refrain... I thought part of the reason they cast me was because clearly I could sing like a rock star. Then I got to Hawaii and they already had it recorded so we could just lip sync to the playback. When I finally saw it, I thought I guess I'm really not singing on it." Today, he’s eagerly awaiting the Nov. 12 opening of his new movie, Skyline, which stars Eric Balfour, co-star of Syfy’s hit paranormal series “Haven,” and Donald Faison, long time star of the ABC sitcom, “Scrubs. (Both of whom, I might add, have been Mr. Media guests in the past year.) Skyline is one of those monster—and I do mean monster—sci-fi films that you look at and go, “Oh, please be as good as you look!” The trailer has flying saucers, enormous, nasty creatures, lots of shit blowing up—add a few beautiful women losing their clothes and what more do we need for two hours’ entertainment, anyway? Today's Guest: Eric Balfour, actor, "Haven," "Six Feet Under" Mr. Media is recorded live before a rapt studio audience of Gary Spivey look-a-likes in the NEW new media capitol of the world… St. Petersburg, Florida! Haven's Eric Balfour and Emily Rose (Photo by Brian Dowling/Syfy) Have you watched “Haven,” the first season sensation on SyFy? If you had asked me after the first two weeks if I thought the show had legs, my answer would probably have been “No.” Too much didn’t make sense, too many story elements seemed wobbly and aimless, and the relationship between the two stars at the top — Emily Rose as FBI agent Audrey Parker and Lucas Bryant as police officer Nathan Wuornos —seemed flat. Why couldn’t they figure out a better and more consistent use for Eric Balfour’s Duke Crocker? ERIC BALFOUR audio excerpt: "The last four episodes of the season feel really indicative of where 'Haven' could go and what it could be. Except for maybe episode 12. I'm still arguing with them about my storyline in episode 12. It didn't make any sense to me. But 10, 11 and 13 are awesome. Emily's storyline in episode 12 is awesome; I was just grumpy about my storyline because I didn't understand it." Order Haven: The Complete First Season by clicking the DVD cover above! And was everyone in town crazy or supernatural? Why wasn’t the National Enquirer crawling all over Haven, Maine? Well, like last year’s outrageously wonderful SyFy series, “Warehouse 13,” it took Haven a few weeks of on-the-road tinkering to smooth out its ride and find its voice. Now you can watch an episode and the writers seem to know that Audrey and Nathan make good co-workers but they need other characters to breath life into them. Balfour is finally getting some meaty opportunities. And the stories about the residents of Haven are insane-insanely great. Halfway in, we have no idea where we’ll wind up when our 60 minutes in town is over. I’m eager to see what the writers have lined up for Balfour, once a star of HBO’s “Six Feet Under,” who I suspect will eventually cozy up to Rose, herself once an HBO star, on the to—short-lived “John From Cincinnati.” Eric Balfour Twitter • Haven on Syfy Order Will Eisner: A Spirited Life (2nd Edition) by Bob Andelman, available from Amazon.com by clicking on the book cover above! Buffy the Vampire slayer . . . . Holy cow . . . why do you people do this to me? Hi, It's Money, and I'm really starting to miss Alias right about now. This first episode is quite shaky. Like mayonnaise flavored jello. Really really white, not appetizing at all, and a foundation made of questionable choices. I'm feeling the pain that Bitches had- being the unspoiled one can really suck sometimes, especially when what you just watched was as unsatisfying as mayonnaise and ricotta spread on crumpets and saltines, and a bottle of room-temperature Aquafina to wash it down. While high on meth. (Trust me, that metaphor will make sense if you listen). Buffy is in the title, though, so I don't need to give her a derisive nickname. I am excited to find out what all the hubbub was about, but Bitches tells me the first season sucked. And you patrons are the ones that said we should go through this episode by episode, so . . . I hate you all. This episode is VERY low budget, and I was a bit disappointed to see one of my favorite actors (Eric Balfour) exit the show so quickly. And lets be honest, this was a hot mess. Poorly lit, poorly choreographed, poorly shot. And the plot seems to try to ramp up but sort of peters out without much of a climax. But I can see the beginnings of Joss Wheadon start to emerge, which I'm enjoying. I hope to see more of his personality start to come through. I loved Dollhouse and Cabin in the Woods is a masterpiece of meta-fiction. But what you guys wanted was a hate-cast of the first season, and that's what you're getting. So buckle in, guys. And get the wine ready. I'm going to need it. And a big straw.
