Abby Pogrebin speaks with Rabbi Dalia Marx about her book "From Time to Time," a rich exploration of the Jewish calendar that weaves together poetry, prayers, songs, and a distinctively Israeli, feminist approach to each Hebrew month and its holidays.

L&D leaders in large organizations often cite a lack of time as the main barrier to upskilling and reskilling. While increasing learning hours is important, the CLO Lift team found that time is not the most critical factor. Instead, the quality of learning has equal or greater influence on performance than the quantity of time spent. Rather than focusing solely on hours, business leaders and L&D professionals should emphasize value. This episode explores these insights with Lisa Christensen and Huw Newton-Hill. KEY TAKEAWAYS CLO Lift is a community of 20 CLOs who have got together to solve the biggest unresolved challenges in the L&D industry. You have to create true value before enough time will be allocated to employee learning. If you are not 100% in step with the business the training that you provide will be out of date and not relevant. The learning you deliver must genuinely enable people to make progress in their careers. L&D needs to stop only being order takers. Work more closely with managers to understand business challenges and be actively involved in finding solutions. Certain elements of people´s roles impact the way they behave. If a learning intervention cannot change that element speak up and ask those who can solve that underlying issue to do so. Create a learning culture, e.g. include skill acquisition in personal reviews. Democratize access to learning. Use generative AI to make the training more relevant in every role in every geography. Measure progress against actual business objectives. Start now. Create some small experiments and generate wins. You only need one win to create credibility and act as a springboard. BEST MOMENTS “Ensure that the whole body of L&D is in lockstep with the business.” “The more courage you lean into, the more credibility you build.” “Be bold and go forth.” “Any good action today is better than perfect action a month from now.” CLO Lift, From Time to Value report: https://learningforum.substack.com/p/clo-lift-from-time-to-value?r=ivpaq&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&triedRedirect=true Lisa Christensen Bio: As Director of Learning Design and Innovation at McKinsey & Company, Lisa leads a global team focused on cutting-edge learning solutions. She founded McKinsey's Learning Research and Innovation Lab and is a recognized thought leader in learning. Lisa is a founding member of CLO Lift and was previously a senior leader at a learning design firm. Huw Newton-Hill Bio: Huw leads Attensi's US office, delivering AI-powered training solutions. A former strategy consultant at BCG, he now drives growth and innovation in L&D, contributing to forums like CLO Lift. The October 7th attack, the hostages still in captivity, the ongoing war, and those still displaced from their homes, have deeply affected the spirit of the holiday. Rabbi Dalia Marx, the Aaron D. Panken Professor of Liturgy and Midrash at Hebrew Union College and author of From Time to Time, Journeys in the Jewish Calendar, spoke to KAN's Naomi Segal about Passover in this challenging time, and how we can impart special meaning to the seder. We are traditionally taught that we ALL stood together at Sinai. And yet the Torah reveals that certain people and certain voices were excluded from that pivotal moment. I talk with Rabbi Dalia Marx about finding and recapturing those silenced voices, in order to create a more inclusive Judaism. ACL Quad Tendon Graft Research with Dr. Brett One of the first big decisions in your ACL injury recovery is choosing a graft to reconstruct your ACL. Historically, there have been two primary grafts to choose from: a patellar tendon graft or a hamstring graft. However, neither of these grafts are the “perfect” option and both have pros and cons. This has led researchers and orthopedic surgeons to continue to look for new graft options. A newer graft has gained popularity in the last 3-5 years is a graft harvested from your quadriceps tendon (the tendon right above your knee cap). This new graft is becoming more common and more research about the rehabilitation process and outcomes with this new graft is coming out everyday. If you would like even more information on the pros and cons of each type of graft for your ACL reconstruction, check out our FREE online mini-course: From Time of Injury to Surgery: Everything You Need to Know About ACL Rehab. In this episode, we summarized some new research about the quadriceps tendon graft and some rehab considerations if you have a quadriceps tendon graft in your ACL reconstruction. Specifically we discuss: Overview of ACL graft options & pros and cons of each graft Why doctors are trying new graft types Biggest differences between patellar tendon graft and quadriceps tendon graft Key differences in short- and long-term outcomes from quad tendon graft How using a quad tendon graft might alter your rehab time frame What questions you should ask your doctor about graft selection What exercises should you be doing in each stage of your ACL rehab if you had a quad tendon graft This is a great episode for any patient or athlete that is either going through ACL rehab following a quad tendon graft or about to make the decision on which graft type they should use to reconstruct their ACL. Are you an athlete that has recently torn their ACL or in the middle of an ACL rehab? Do you feel like you have a clear plan to return to your prior level of performance using objective data to track your progress? We would love to help! Leroy Robert "Satchel" Paige (July 7, 1906 – June 8, 1982) was an American professional baseball pitcher who played in Negro league baseball and Major League Baseball (MLB). His career spanned five decades and culminated with his induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. A right-handed pitcher, Paige first played for the semi-professional Mobile Tigers from 1924 to 1926. He began his professional baseball career in 1926 with the Chattanooga Black Lookouts of the Negro Southern League and became one of the most famous and successful players from the Negro leagues. Downton Abbey the movie hit the No 1 spot in both UK & US on it's opening weekend; more recently followed by the movie release of 'Downtown Abbey: A New Era'During the pandemic the film industry was hugely disrupted - and yet Liz and her team managed to make this latest movie under all the covid restrictions without losing a single day.Liz grew up passionate about stories, and make believe plays, and envisioned a future where she might somehow live making those scripts come to life. After leaving University she went into TV- as a young women in a predominantly male world, but managed to find strong female mentors and guides. Nevertheless as she worked her way through the ranks there were inevitably challenges to face and slowly she found ways to help herself, mentally, spiritually & emotionally, to overcome whatever faced her with equilibrium and understanding. After she collaborated with Julian Fellows on her first feature From Time to Time, she was given the opportunity to produce what was to become 6 ward-winning series of Downton Abbey and now two movies. Her drive through it all has been to create very human and relatable stories, and it is no wonder then that Downton Abbey has had such phenomenal success with huge popularity across the world. Downton Abbey - A New Era arrives on the silver screen as a timely and much needed up-lifting experience after two years of a global pandemic. And now Liz is producing a film about the Lockerbie plane bombing; a heart breaking tale of Jim Swire's loss of his daughter in the disaster, and his consequent search for the truth, but ultimately with love at the heart of the film.In the meantime thank you so much Liz for bringing us a slice of another era that reminds us of our humanity, and need for community, love and connection, no matter what period of time or social strata we are born into, or which side our bread is buttered. Thanks also for showing us that trusting in our life's purpose and taking action in that direction will lead us to where we are meant to be.You can find out more about Liz's work through her agent www.saraputt.co.uk/ and follow movie updates on Instagram @DowntonAbbey_officalJoin Lou on Linkedin, or sign up to her mailing list for her newsletter and a free podcast guesting mini-guide. Synopsis Remember “Y2K” — the Millennial Year 2000? It was a time of extravagant hopes and dire predictions, as pundits and prophets weighed in as the 20th century hastened to its end. Composers weighed in, too. The American Composers Forum and the National Endowment for the Arts collaborated on a project entitled “Continental Harmony” which commissioned new musical works for public celebrations in communities large and small in all 50 states. Define and Live Your Dream Life In this episode, Daniel Mangena talks about his own money journey and how important it is to use the micro-shifting concept. Take away: Micro-shifting: taking a consistent series of baby steps Action step: Take one area and start working on it Money Learnings: Daniel didn’t learn about money from his school and his parents. He learned about it from his own journey. Bio: After receiving a late diagnosis of Asperger’s and experiencing what can only be described as life-shattering trauma at the age of just 20, Daniel spent the next seven years struggling to keep these revelations and events from spilling into every area of his life. As a result of his struggles, Daniel built a simple, four-step system called the Beyond Intention Paradigm. Initially built as a lifeline grappling with suicidal thoughts, Beyond Intention was born, transforming Daniel’s life from misery to celebration. Through his own struggles, Daniel found a path to lasting joy and purpose and he wants nothing more than to share the tools that saved his life. To that end, he lives by this mission statement: “To Spearhead an evolutionary uplift in universal consciousness by awakening people to the importance of their unique role. This that is already encoded in them by way of a deep and often ignored or undervalued passion defined as their Dream.” Highlights from this episode: Link to episode page About Asperger's The Money Game book The 5 day challenge What manifestation means Stepping Beyond Intention book Micro-shifting concept Spirituality Being present From Time to Time book www.dreamwithdan.com Richer Soul Life Beyond Money. In this episode, I'm joined by Baylor from BTG for president podcast. We unleash in over 1 hour and 40 minutes of content about the recent Drake interview that was done by Christmas Day, this interview is laced with rebuttal conversations about Drake talking about not wanting to fix the relationship with Pusha T or Kanye West, we both share or views and thoughts on statement by Drake. We also touch on did Drake actually take a L in the freestyle between Pusha T also. So much to unleash about on this whole featured presentation but we never lost the ability to lose focus on the main topic at hand.If you know the podcasting history behind Baylor & I, we also resurfaced the whole Colin Kaepernick vs Jay Z situation. In life you have bridge the gap and continue to hold yourself in a higher regards when it comes to accountability.P.S. take a listen to Drake's Nothing Was The Same in reverse order! You will undercover some pretty interesting synchronization in this critical acclaimed LP from Drake himself.Trust me it flows better!1. ‘Pound Cake' (Feat. On the 2nd of October 2019, Cisco was named the #1 World's Best Workplace! Listen to Henrik Parnemann (top picture, back row, 5th from your right) and Andres Jimenez Nanhekhan (bottom picture, second from your left), CSAP alumni, talk about how they were able to make a difference and create the amazing Cisco culture we are all so proud of. From Time to Give that took them on amazing meaningful projects in Naples and Nepal to Fun Funds that had them plastic fishing in the Amsterdam canals. One recurring theme, the tremendous support you get from Cisco and your peers to work on projects you truly believe in and make a difference.
2009. The year Drake really announced himself with "So Far Gone". 8 years later and he is arguably the biggest artist in music. One thing about Drake is that he is extremely versatile. This is Volume 1 of 2 of my Drake mix series. This mix is full of his best RnB inspired records & features tracks like "From Time", "Too Much" & "Crew Love".
Richard speaks to "Black Leopard, Red Wolf" author Marlon James, recently named one of Time's 100 most influential people. From Time magazine: James lives part-time in St. Paul and teaches at Macalester College, where he is writer-in-residence. He was born in Jamaica and is the author of "The Book of Night Women," winner of the Dayton Literary Peace Prize; "A Brief History of Seven Killings," winner of the Man Booker Prize, and "Black Leopard, Red Wolf," already being made into a movie. About that book, Rushdie writes, it is "highly original, its language surging with power, its imagination all-encompassing. Marlon is a writer who must be read."

All entries due 4/16/2019 and a random winner will be selected. Main Topic The Timekeeper Welcome to Circlevision and The Timekeeper. This super unique format was used throughout Disney properties and this episode we dive into one of the last productions, The Timekeeper. Our entire crew has a great recollection of this film and animatronic show, starring Robin Williams. The show itself, featured a unique character based on the actual camera system and they called her, Nine Eyes. With this episode, we go scene by scene, discussing the stars, filming, production and more. The original film entitled From Time to Time, but was named The Timekeeper in Florida. We go into the location, which always felt a little off and out of place in Tomorrowland. The redo in 1994 is discussed and we hit on some of the backstory involved with this attraction, including a bit of Alien Encounter. We discuss a few other things, including the old WDW travel VHS tapes, which had some great panning shots over the years. The group also gets into the preshows and we get a little bit of history and current location talk on the Renault concept car made for the attraction, The Reinastella. This ride is somewhat unique, as you had to look forward at The Timekeeper, so it kept the audience attention, looking one way. This is a great, 'New' Tomorrowland attraction that has met our criteria and we hope you really enjoy our look back. What is your favorite memory of The Timekeeper? Was this a must-do for you and your family? We would love to hear your memories as well. Next Month Join us very soon, as we take behind the scenes with director Jeff Blyth. He is going to take us on an amazing journey, all about how these 360 films are shot. You seriously need to hear this! We thank you for your support and welcome you to enjoy all of our other offerings including our photos, restored films & The Lake Buena Vista Historical Society.
