The Supreme Court has come to a highly anticipated decision in the case related to birthright citizenship. The issue before the court was how lower courts should handle President Trump's executive order declaring that the children of parents who enter the U.S. illegally or on a temporary visa are not entitled to automatic citizenship. A conservative supermajority sided with the Trump administration's request to limit universal injunctions issued by federal courts. So many deaths have taken place at the Adolphus Hotel that it should be nicknamed "The Death Hotel." This historic luxury hotel in Dallas was named for a beer magnate and was once one of the grandest hotels in the Southwest. The entertainment hosted here was top tier with a long list of popular entertainers from various eras. And the Adolphus had the honor of hosting Queen Elizabeth II in the 1990s. The hotel today is still a luxury hotel located in the heart of downtown Dallas that has great food, drinks, a spa and...a few ghosts. Join us for the history and hauntings of the Adolphus Hotel! “Food systems have to do with everything from production to processing, distribution, and the utilization. Then of course, end of life for food systems which includes food waste. In the United States, 40% of the food that we produce goes to waste. This means with distribution challenges that not everybody has equitable access to the kinds of foods that they need and want, at the times that they need them." Robin Currey on Electric Ladies Podcast Climate change is disrupting our food and agriculture systems, including the critical supply chains that feed and clothe us. Yet, these same supply chains can also hold the key to regenerative agriculture, especially in the face of extraordinary new scientific innovation. Women make or influence 85% of consumption decisions, so they/we can play a critical role in driving what companies and farmers produce. Listen to this live recording of a session at The Earth Day Women's Summit at Earthx2025 with a panel moderated by Electric Ladies Podcast's Joan Michelson. You'll hear surprising ways that industries are creating solutions within supply chains, tapping into technologies to help us produce and consume more sustainably. The panel includes: Robin Currey, on the efforts underway to help food systems adapt to climate change through agricultural biodiversity. Alison Ward, CEO of CottonConnect, on efforts to engage women farmers in sustainable, regenerative agriculture practices. Zara Summers, Chief Science Officer at LanzaTech, on how carbon emissions are converted into sustainable materials for clothing, food, and fuel. Joan Michelson, Executive Producer of The Earth Day Women's Summit and host of Electric Ladies Podcast. And, insightful career advice… “If you can combine something you're passionate about with something you're good at, and you can make that into a career, that is success. Find other women that will be prepared to give back to help careers and connect. We have a Women in CottonConnect group where we are really looking at how we can advance women in our organization. “Not everything has to be an enormous career step. When I joined CottonConnect, it was a relatively small organization that has since grown into a much larger one. But it was something I was passionate about, and I've been fortunate to have a great team and great advisors around me.” Alison Ward on Electric Ladies Podcast You'll also like: Alison Ward, CEO of CottonConnect, on how female farmers are transforming cotton. It was the beginning of her induction into a cult, and it was an experience Liz barely survived. The process of brainwashing happened gradually, first came the love-bombing and the allure of finding a new purpose in life. Then came the isolation from friends and family, along with sleep deprivation, overwork and sexual manipulation.Liz was one of the many women chosen to become a kind of bride for the leader of an infamous Korean religious group. It wasn't until she became critically ill, that her family were able to get the help she needed to escape and to begin the process of being deprogrammed.Liz Cameron's memoir is called Cult Bride: How I was brainwashed and how I broke free.Find out more about the Conversations Live National Tour on the ABC website.Conversations' Executive Producer is Nicola Harrison. Most brands are creating too much content and saying nothing. In this episode of Mastering eCommerce Marketing, host Eitan Koter sits down with Dani Dufresne, an Emmy Award-winning Executive Producer and founder of The Auxiliary Co., to talk about what actually works when it comes to video and content strategy.Dani has spent over 20 years producing for film, TV, digital, and experiential projects. She's worked with major brands like Nike, Apple, Google, YouTube, and Sephora. Her company helps brands and agencies bring big ideas to life without the red tape of traditional production models.Instead of bloated teams and outdated processes, Dani focuses on lean, high-impact production. The goal is to build content that connects, not just content that fills a feed. She and Eitan talk about the shift away from quantity and toward meaningful storytelling. They explore why audiences are getting overwhelmed, how brands can stop adding to the noise, and why planning for video should start with a clear strategy, not just a creative brief. You'll also hear why bringing media and creative teams together early makes a huge difference, how to get more from your budget, and why it's okay to focus on fewer platforms if it means showing up with purpose. If you're tired of chasing trends and want to build content that actually supports your brand, this episode is for you.Website: https://www.vimmi.net Email us: info@vimmi.net Podcast website: https://vimmi.net/mastering-ecommerce-marketing/ Talk to us on Social:Eitan Koter's LinkedIn | Vimmi LinkedIn | YouTube Guest: Dani Dufresne, Founder / Executive Producer at The AuxiliaryDani Dufresne's LinkedIn | The AuxiliaryTakeaways:Video is essential in today's marketing landscape.Storytelling is crucial for brand...

In this episode, we delve into the historical and contemporary implications of the Monroe Doctrine and U.S. intervention in Latin America. Host Jack Eidt mixes excerpts from Rubén Darío's poetry (Nicaragua) and Gabriel García Márquez's fiction (Colombia) with an interview of Yale historian Greg Grandin by journalist Michael Fox. They explore how Simon Bolivar's legacy and the Monroe Doctrine have shaped U.S. imperialism in Central and South America. They trace the origins of Bolivar's fight for independence, the creation and evolution of the Monroe Doctrine, and its lasting effects on U.S. foreign policy. The interview originates from Michael Fox's podcast series "Under the Shadow," [https://therealnews.com/under-the-shadow] produced in collaboration with the Real News Network and NACLA, the North American Congress on Latin America [https://nacla.org/]. On Saturday, President Donald Trump announced that the United States had carried out airstrikes on three nuclear sites in Iran: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. Trump called the mission a “very successful attack” and said the aircraft involved in the strikes were all “safely on their way home.” The extent of the damage to the sites is currently unknown, though the Pentagon says its initial assessment found “extremely severe damage and destruction” at each facility. Send us a textThis program previously aired April 5, 2024. The DVD mentioned is still available but would not ship until mid-July.GUEST: SETH GRUBER, Executive Producer, The 1916 ProjectIt's been said that “Ideas have consequences and bad ideas have victims.”Ideas are the causes of actions in the world, for better or for worse. And the Christian should know from God's Word that sinful ideas come from unregenerate minds. Romans 8 says, “the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God” (Romans 8:7-8).The depravity and death we see all around us in our culture, particularly millions of aborted babies, all manner of sexual and gender perversion, and suicide and euthanasia, are the direct result of ideas from minds that hate God and His truth and design. As shown in a new documentary film titled The 1916 Project by executive producer Seth Gruber, the wicked lineage of this God-forsaking worldview in America is built block by block upon well-known names like evolutionist Charles Darwin, abortionist Margaret Sanger, and pervert Alfred Kinsey and many other lesser known influencers like Thomas Malthus, Francis Galton, Havelock Ellis, and Emma Goldman.Gruber reveals how these men and women are the reason why abortion today is seen as “My body, my choice,” “love is love,” “gender is fluid,” and “children need to explore their sexuality at the youngest ages.”Seth Gruber joins us today on The Christian Worldview to discuss Margaret Sanger and the History of the Death and Depravity Revolution in light of The 1916 Project documentary film.-------------------Order The 1916 Project DVD

For the last few years, one of my favorite parts of Tangle has been hiring young writers and giving them an opportunity to work with us. Over the years we've had a number of “interns” (nobody really does intern work here) who have made major contributions to our newsletter, gone on to work for awesome publications, or left and returned years later to work for us.Last year, our managing editor Ari Weitzman decided to formalize this experience with a six-month fellowship program. We got dozens of applications, and ended up hiring Hunter Casperson — a sharp writer and recent journalism master's graduate from California. Hunter immediately earned a reputation for thoughtful edits, speaking her mind, and stepping up to do whatever was asked of her. This month, her six months at Tangle are coming to a close. In the past, it's been simply tradition that we've let Tangle interns write a capstone piece — this year, with the process formalized, we baked it into the initial schedule of working with Hunter. The prompt is simple: You can pick any topic you want to cover, and we'll work on a well researched, long-form piece with you that we'll publish as a Friday edition. Today, we are sharing Hunter's capstone piece. It is, in my estimation, perfectly Tangle. It covers a controversial topic. It's personal. It is deeply researched. It is thoughtfully written. And most importantly, it offers fair treatment of a complicated issue. I hope you enjoy it, and I want to thank Hunter for all her contributions to Tangle — I'm excited to see what she does next! Episode Overview In this candid snack episode, Miranda Dorta turns the microphone around to interview Tracy Cherpeski about her specialized consulting approach for healthcare practice owners. This unscripted conversation reveals the genuine dynamic between the hosts while exploring the unique challenges facing healthcare providers who own their practices. Tracy shares insights on identifying scalability readiness, overcoming time management struggles, and the evolution from one-on-one consulting to building the Thriving Practice Community. Key Highlights The Business Acumen Gap: Healthcare providers often lack the business training needed to successfully operate their practices, despite their extensive clinical expertise The "Too Busy" Pattern: Practice owners frequently get caught in cycles of handling tasks that could be delegated to practice managers or administrative staff Scalability Assessment: Practices need solid operational foundations—including clinical, front office, and back office operations manuals—before they're ready to scale Community-Driven Support: The Thriving Practice Community was launched to create a peer ecosystem where healthcare providers can crowdsource business solutions and build a social safety net Delegation Dynamics: Many practice owners hesitate to delegate not from a need for control, but from concern about overwhelming their already busy teams Memorable Quotes "In all the places for people to be struggling in their business, healthcare just really should not be one of them. It shouldn't be so hard." "You provider owners are wearing two full time professional hats, maybe even kind of like a third one if you separate strategy from leadership." "Just because you can doesn't mean that you should. Unless your entire staff is down with some stomach virus, you're not going to be doing your blood draws—your team is going to be doing that because that's what they're really good at." "If we can smooth over the strategic aspect of it, the leadership aspect of it, the operational side and get it running like a well-oiled machine, then life is so much better and easier on the clinical side and outside of work." "We wanted to take the focus off of me as the provider and build an ecosystem that's truly supportive, that creates that social safety net for people." Miranda's Bio: Miranda Dorta, B.F.A. (she/her/hers) is the Manager of Operations and PR at Tracy Cherpeski International. Tracy's Bio: Tracy Cherpeski, MBA, MA, CPSC (she/her/hers) is the Founder of Tracy Cherpeski International and Thriving Practice Community. For Michigan, this is its oldest city and was established by the French in 1671. The Upper Peninsula almost seems to be in a different world when it comes to the state of Michigan as it is separated from the mainland of the state by not only water, but also the island of Mackinac. The paranormal is strong here. For 16 years, the Michigan ParaCon was held in the Soo and the hosts of that continue to run paranormal events there. That's because there are several haunted locations here. Join us for the history and hauntings of Sault Ste. Marie! Author Katia Ariel tells the story of Ephraim Finch, a man synonymous with death in the Melbourne Jewish community. He started life as Geoffrey William, the son of a butcher, who would go on to become a master builder before his life became unrecognisable to him.Several years ago, Melbourne author and book editor, Katia was invited to write Ephraim's biography.Katia was already familiar with his name. She had seen the way mourners uttered his name and felt a sense of calm and ease within their sorrow, because they trusted Ephraim as a master of death who would know how to lead them through the world of mourning.Ephraim started life as Geoffrey William Finch, the son of a butcher in the working class suburb of Ashfield in Sydney in the 1940s. He learned his love of reading from his pop, who would come home from his job at the abattoir and read Oscar Wilde's work over a cigar on the porch. From a young age Ephraim felt an ineffable pull toward monotheism and converted to Judaism, along with his wife, Cas, after the pair met as teenagers at the Wagga Wagga Royal Show.Eventually he was drawn to his vocation — the sacred and quiet ritual of preparing bodies for burial. And he became the go-to man in Melbourne, where over his career he has buried more than 10,000 people.Further informationFerryman: The life and deathwork of Ephraim Finch is published by Wild Dingo Press.Katia's first book, a memoir is called The Swift Dark Tide, published by Gazebo Books.Find out more about the Conversations Live National Tour on the ABC website.Conversations' Executive Producer is Nicola Harrison. Two years ago, Gay and Mike sat down and recorded an incredible podcast with their dear friend, Arielle Ford, about her debut novel “The Love Thief”. It was such a deeply insightful and moving episode – they decided to share it again. Why the 'revisit'?Well, because Arielle's novel, The Love Thief, has been scooped up and re-released by Hay House! This romantic, spiritual thriller—part love story, part transformational journey—now comes with a brand-new cover, a soul-stirring audiobook, and some seriously juicy preorder bonuses. In this episode, Arielle, Mike, and Gay dive into the real-life inspiration behind the story, the spiritual teachings woven through the plot (think Eat, Pray, Love meets Dirty John), and why heartbreak can be the gateway to healing.See, Arielle is one of the world's leading experts on love, relationships and the greatest manifester Mike has ever known. She's written numerous bestselling non-fiction books like “The Soulmate Secret” and “Turn Your Mate Into Your Soulmate,” but this is her first foray into fiction - and what an adventure it's been! And in this episode, Arielle takes Gay and Mike behind the scenes of how this book came to be.It all started with a crazy idea from her husband, Brian, involving aliens and operatic singing! But soon, the characters began “talking” to Arielle, almost driving her crazy. She found herself acting insecure for the first time in her career, constantly seeking reassurance from friends about her writing.Eventually, Arielle surrendered to the muse and let this wild story download through her. The result is a juicy tale of love, betrayal, spiritual awakening, and sweet revenge. Part Eat, Pray, Love, and part Dirty John, Arielle calls it "a romantic, spiritual thriller with a surprise happy ending."Mike won't give away all the details, but let's just say one of the characters was inspired by HIM! (It won't be hard to figure it out.)Mike and Gay were fascinated and inspired to hear about Arielle's creative process. Even though writing this novel was torture at times, she learned a ton about herself along the way.And you have to hear her vision for the audiobook (something she hopes to turn into a Grammy-winning production). Just like her manifesting powers, Arielle's imagination knows no bounds!Whether you're an aspiring writer, novel lover, spiritual seeker, or just a fan of Arielle's work, Mike highly recommends giving this interview a listen. Arielle's joy is contagious. He knows you'll be inspired. The Love Thief is for anyone who's loved, lost, raged, and risen. It's a story of revenge, redemption, and rediscovering your worth. You'll laugh, cry, and maybe even book a flight to Rishikesh.Key Takeaways(04:09) Arielle never wanted to write a novel and how it came about(09:31) The moment Arielle thought she was schizophrenia because characters started “talking” to her(13:19) The process of writing the book(23:09) Her dream for the audio book and winning a Grammy!(34:46) The spiritual practice of channeling characters and storytelling(45:05) Who is the perfect buyer of this book?Praise for The Love Thief“A spiritual love story that leaves you gasping with all the feels… A must-read.”— Sheri Salata, former Executive Producer of The Oprah Show“An emotional ride through betrayal, healing, and rediscovery. We continue our conversation with the always entertaining Tim Rundel in this second installment. Tim has not just seen a thing or two, he has personally endured some incredibly challenging and professionally traumatic situations. In this powerful episode, he talks about how we as city managers carry the trauma of abuse and betrayal to our next position and that it is quite easy to become "gun shy" or lose your self-confidence. He opens the interview by recounting a conversation with a peer who has recently experienced a couple of brutal and extremely short tenures. And toward the end of the conversation Tim talks about how we as executives need to value ourselves and appreciate our worth. He says "we're the cookie" and we should not be giving it away. If you did not get a chance to catch my first interview with Tim way back in Episode 8 of the podcast, it is a must listen. It is one of the funniest interviews I have ever done and in it we talk about his efforts to get a sitcom about a small town city manager made a la The Office Space. Professor Lorimer Moseley is neuroscientist, who specialises in the complexities and mind-boggling nature of pain - what it is, why it exists, how it works and when it can go wrong. For most of us, pain is a fundamental part of being alive, and staying alive and yet none of us will ever experience the exact same pain as someone else, which makes it incredibly difficult to understand.Every day, we stub our toes and burn our tongues. Some of us break bones and suffer from more serious illnesses and conditions. What you feel when your skin is broken or a ligament is torn is there to tell your brain to be careful, that something is wrong and needs to be protected. But what happens when doctors can't find any damage? When the tissues in your hips or the pictures of your brain seem perfectly fine, but still, there is agonising pain that refuses to leave you alone?Lorimer was a physiotherapist who came to this very specific neuroscience after his own experience with chronic pain, following a pretty gruesome sporting injury that by all accounts had been fixed by surgery. He realised that as he was learning more about how changes in the body are detected (like temperature and pressure), and communicated as pain to the brain through the central nervous system, his own chronic pain started to diminish.Since then, Lorimer has published hundreds of papers and several books on the topic, in his pursuit to help people also dig themselves out of the hellish cruelty of chronic pain.Further informationYou can find more resources from Professor Moseley about tackling persistent or chronic pain online at TameTheBeast.orgFind out more about the Conversations Live National Tour on the ABC website. The Executive Producer of Conversations in Nicola Harrison. On Thursday, the Trump administration began directing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to pause immigration investigations and enforcement actions in the agricultural, hotel, and restaurant industries. Before ICE issued the new guidance to its field agents, President Donald Trump publicly acknowledged his immigration agenda had negatively impacted these industries and promised changes. However, on Monday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told its staff that it had reversed this decision and to continue immigration raids at farms, hotels, and restaurants.
