Here are 3 big things you need to know—   One — President Donald Trump has announced far-reaching new tariffs on nearly all U.S. trading partners. That includes a 34% tax on imports from China and 20% on the European Union. Trump says he was placing tariff rates on dozens of nations that run trade surpluses with the United States, while imposing a 10% baseline tax on imports from all countries in response to what he called an economic emergency.   Two ----  The man who was found outside Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's home with weapons in 2022 intends to plead guilty to a federal charge of attempting to assassinate a justice of the United States. Roske was found in June 2022 outside Kavanaugh's  Maryland, home armed with a gun, knife and burglary tools, according to court documents. He could face a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison.   And number three —    Hunter Biden is going to be permanently stripped of his law license in Washington, DC.  The son of former President Biden agreed to "consent to disbarment" in an affidavit filed on Tuesday after a recommendation from a disciplinary agency.  The DC Court of Appeals must now accept the recommendation to then accept Biden's consent to disbarment before making it official.

We have now learned that Nicholas Roske, who identified as an MtF named Sophie to lure young women into sexual encounters, had actually planned to assassinate three conservative Supreme Court Justices over abortion. His plan involved killing these conservatives so they could be replaced with liberals, therefore indefinitely changing the court's direction into the distant future. Just one day before the Dobbs decision over abortion was handed down, the highest court also decided Bruen wherein New York State's restrictive gun licensing law was overturned. It had prevented a law-abiding citizen from obtaining an unrestricted license to “have and carry” unless “proper cause” could be demonstrated, something the court responded to by stating: “We know of no other constitutional right that an individual may exercise only after demonstrating to government officers some special need.” The Associated Press called this an expansion of gun rights, when the court simply reinstated those rights that some States had taken away. As a result of this and the high rate of gun-related suicides, law professors in Alabama are arguing that disarming the public is the only way to ensure self-defense - try and figure that out. They argue that getting rid of guns will stop suicides and murders. But suicides are the opposite of self-defense, they are committed by people choosing to end their own life. And most murders are carried out as a result of drug and gang activity which is not being prosecuted in major cities. Law-abiding citizens are not responsible for crime and yet are being treated as common criminals while dangerous people and gangs run the streets. This is precisely why we have a parchment protection - to remind government that we have inherent natural rights, including those to self-defense.

Stocks sank on Friday, ending what has been a miserable month for markets, especially for Big Tech. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost nearly 1,000 points, while the S&P 500 lost more than 3%, with both indexes posting hefty losses for April. But it was a lot worse for the tech-heavy Nasdaq, which sank more than 4% on Friday and ended down more than 10% for April, its worst month since 2008. The deep declines reflect a time of deep uncertainty at a moment when the economic landscape is changing rapidly. Here are the top three things sinking Wall Street. Big Tech is going from winner to loser The pandemic was good for Big Tech earnings. Buoyed by low interest rates and the sudden pivot to quarantines and remote work, companies from Netflix to Zoom had some banner months in terms of profits. And what is good for Big Tech is generally good for markets given that information technology companies account for 28 percent of the S&P 500. But things have changed — and swiftly. The world is learning to live with COVID. Workers are returning to their offices. Demand for travel is booming. And restaurants are filling up again. A California man accused of attempting to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh was formally charged Wednesday. A federal grand jury returned an indictment charging 26-year-old Nicholas John Roske with attempting to murder a Justice of the United States. According to court documents, Roske traveled from his home in Simi Valley, California to Maryland intending to kill Justice Kavanaugh, arriving at his residence in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 8, 2022.

Suspect in Kavanaugh attempted murder texted sister, who convinced him to call 911, investigators say https://www.foxnews.com/politics/kavanaugh-suspect-sister-text-convinced-call-911 Nicholas Roske, who authorities say plotted to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, texted his sister before abandoning his plans and calling 911, police said. Roske was carrying a gun, ammunition, a knife, pepper spray, a screwdriver, zip ties, and other gear when he was arrested by Montgomery County Police Department officers Wednesday morning near Kavanaugh’s Maryland home, according to a criminal complaint. "The suspect arrived by taxi and observed the U.S. marshals, and he turned around to contemplate his next move," Montgomery County Police Chief Marcus Jones said in a statement to the Washington Post. "This is when he texted his sister and told her of his intentions, and she convinced him to call 911, which he did." During the call, which lasted approximately 15 minutes, Roske could be heard saying that he was "having thoughts" and came from California in order to "act on them." Caterpillar to move global headquarters to Texas https://www.reuters.com/business/caterpillar-move-global-headquarters-texas-2022-06-14/ Caterpillar Inc (CAT.N) said on Tuesday it would move its global headquarters to Irving, Texas, from its current location in Deerfield, Illinois, marking an end to the company's century-long presence in the Land of Lincoln. It was not immediately clear why Caterpillar was making the move. It said in an emailed statement it did not seek or receive incentives for relocation. The construction equipment maker is the latest big manufacturer to exit Illinois. Last month, aerospace giant, Boeing (BA.N) announced that it would move corporate headquarters from Chicago to Arlington, Virginia. A company spokesperson said most of its 230 employees based in Deerfield will transition to the new headquarters over time, though the company will maintain its presence in Illinois where it has more than 17,000 employees. CAT hosted its bi-annual Investor's Day in Grapevine, Texas, last month. Currently the machinery maker's electric power division operates out of its Irving office. Texas Governor Greg Abbott said on Twitter the state is a "perfect fit for this international brand." N.Y. Governor Approves Abortion Safe Haven Laws https://www.oann.com/n-y-governor-approves-abortion-safe-haven-laws/ New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) signed a bill expanding abortion access in the Empire State. She approved six bills to make her state a “safe haven” for the procedure in case the Supreme Court rules Roe v. Wade to be unconstitutional. “Our heart goes out to the women in those other states, we’ll be there for the women of other states,” stated the governor. “And mark my words, just never, never, here in the state of New York because New York has always been a beacon for those yearning to be free. And I want the world to hear that that will never change”. The laws are intended to provide legal protections for both abortion participants and providers from outside states where the operation may be outlawed, including the prevention of New York authorities from cooperating with outside law enforcement agencies in abortion-related investigations as well as restricting out-of-state medical malpractice insurance claims against New York abortion providers. Additionally, Empire State abortion providers will be immune to professional misconduct charges while institutions that refuse to perform abortions may be sued. Under one of the provisions, abortion providers may even obscure their addresses in order to evade legal action. The governor also announced the formation of a task force that will research the effects of pro-life pregnancy centers. Hochul alleged these protections for abortion are by extension protection for so-called “bodily autonomy.” “Because as the first female governor of New York, I take this personally and that’s a fight I’m willing to take on,” she continued. “Not just on behalf of the women of New York, but for women all across this nation. I refuse to go backwards and I promise you, as long as I’m governor, we will not because these are rights that have been fought for, for generations. And New York State has led every step of the way.” Despite championing bodily autonomy, Hochul maintained former Governor Andrew Cuomo’s health care worker COIVD-19 vaccine mandate,. On top of that, New Yorkers were required to be vaccinated to participate in various indoor activities earlier this year. Trump issued the wide-ranging rebuttal Monday, when the panel held its second televised hearing, that also included his continuing belief that the 2020 election that he lost was rife with voting fraud and vows to replace Democrats with Republicans of his choice in the midterm elections. Democrats "are desperate to change the narrative of a failing nation, without even making mention of the havoc and death caused by the Radical Left just months earlier," Trump wrote in the message sent through his Save America PAC. "Make no mistake, they control the government. They own this disaster. They are hoping that these hearings will somehow alter their failing prospects." In the statement, Trump continues to push his long-held stance that the 2020 election was stolen from him. Much of the committee's focus during its Monday hearing centered on aides and those in Trump's inner circle telling the former president that the election was not stolen or rigged. Trump, in the statement, also reiterates some of his most popular election 2020 refrains, including zeroing in on the extra time it took after Election Day for Pennsylvania and Michigan to count ballots – citing evidence from the recently released Dinesh D'Souza Documentary "2000 Mules." "As we near the midterm elections, we’re watching the Swamp creatures circle the drain as true Americans step up to replace the corrupt Establishment with patriots who will fight for our freedoms," Trump also wrote, suggesting he will likely continue to focus on the issue of the 2020 election through the midterm and possibly beyond. "Americans are struggling to fill their gas tanks, feed their babies, educate their children, hire employees, order supplies, protect our border from invasion, and a host of other tragedies that are 100% caused by Democrats who obtained power through a rigged election, and the people of our country are both angry and sad," he continued. "This is when he texted his sister and told her of his intentions, and she convinced him to call 911, which he did." During the call, which lasted approximately 15 minutes, Roske could be heard saying that he was "having thoughts" and came from California in order to "act on them." When asked if he had access to weapons, he said he had a firearm that was unloaded and in a suitcase that was "ziptied shut." When asked if he needed medical attention, he replied, "I need psychiatric help." Police arrived on the scene soon after Roske placed the 911 call. Is it time to treat guns and automobiles in the same vain? Also, this week we will discuss the effect politics is having on sports. Most people watch sports to escape reality and be entertained. However, it appears even sports cannot be immune to issues dealing with political gain. We ask is it par for the course or more manipulation of the masses? And Federal agents this week raided the home of 26-year-old Nicolas John Roske. The reason you ask? It appears Mr. Roske was attempting to potentially assassinate SCOTUS Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol insurrection is set to unveil as-yet-unreleased video, audio and a “mountain of evidence” in its prime-time hearing. Thursday's session will also show the chilling backstory as defeated President Donald Trump tried to overturn Joe Biden's 2020 election victory. The panel will warn that the deadly siege put U.S. democracy at risk. Live testimony is expected from a police officer who was pummeled in the riot and from a documentary filmmaker who recorded the melee. There will also be recorded accounts of Trump's aides and family members. The yearlong investigation is intended to stand as a public record for history. The House has passed a wide-ranging gun control bill in response to recent mass shootings in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas. The bill would raise the age limit for purchasing a semi-automatic rifle and prohibit the sale of ammunition magazines of more than 15 rounds. The legislation has almost no chance of becoming law as the Senate pursues more modest proposals. But it does allow Democratic lawmakers a chance to show voters where they stand. Democrat Veronica Escobar of Texas says, “We can't save every life, but my God, shouldn't we try?" White House officials say orders have been coming in for COVID-19 vaccine doses for small children. Federal authorization of shots for U.S. kids under 5 is possible next week. The government last week began allowing pharmacies and states to place orders, with 5 million doses initially available. So far, about 1.45 million of the 2.5 million available doses of Pfizer have been ordered. About 850,000 of available Moderna shots have been ordered. Young children are the last group of Americans who have not been recommended to get COVID-19 vaccinations. Up to about 20 million U.S. children under 5 would become eligible for vaccination if the government authorizes one or both shots. The head of the U.N.'s nuclear watchdog agency says that Iran is removing 27 surveillance cameras from nuclear sites in the country. Rafael Mariano Grossi, the director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, made the comments at a suddenly called news conference in Vienna on Thursday. Grossi said that poses a “serious challenge” to its efforts. Iran did not immediately acknowledge the move. On Wednesday, Iran said it shut off two devices the IAEA uses to monitor enrichment at Natanz. Iranian officials also threatened to take more steps amid a yearslong crisis that threatens to widen into further attacks. Ukrainian authorities say that workers have pulled scores of bodies from smashed buildings in the devastated city of Mariupol in an “endless caravan of death." At the same time, fears of a global food crisis are escalating over Ukraine's inability to export millions of tons of grain through its blockaded ports. Ukrainian and Russian forces are also continuing to battle for control of a key eastern city in the industrial heartland known as the Donbas. An analyst said that the Kremlin's continued advances could eventually open up the possibility of a negotiated settlement between the two nations. A man carrying a gun, a knife and zip ties was arrested Wednesday near Justice Brett Kavanaugh's house in Maryland after threatening to kill the justice. Twenty-six year-old Nicholas John Roske of Simi Valley, California, was charged with the attempted murder of a Supreme Court justice. During a court hearing, Roske consented to remain in federal custody for now. Roske arrived by taxi just after 1 a.m. Wednesday outside Kavanaugh's home in a Washington suburb. Roske had a Glock 17 pistol, ammunition, a knife, pepper spray, duct tape and other items that he told police he would use to break into Kavanaugh's house and kill him. That's according to a criminal complaint and an affidavit filed in federal court. The Celtics come home to take Game 3 and the lead in the NBA Finals, the Angels losing streak stretches to 14 games while the A's drop eight straight, and the Yankees reach the end of a seven-game win streak.  The Justice Department has named a team of nine people, including an FBI official and former police chiefs, to aid in a review of the law enforcement response to the deadly Uvalde, Texas, elementary school shooting. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the team during a meeting in his office in Washington on Wednesday. The critical incident review is being led by the Justice Department's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. The Justice Department says the review will include an examination of police policies, training and communication, along with the deployment of officers and tactics. The school shooting left 19 children and two teachers dead. Parents outside begged police to rush in. An 11-year-old girl who survived the mass shooting has told members of Congress how she covered herself in her dead classmate's blood and played dead to avoid being shot. Miah Cerrillo, a fourth-grader at Robb Elementary School, told lawmakers in a pre-recorded video Wednesday that she watched a teacher get shot in the head before looking for a place to hide. Her testimony to a House Oversight Committee was the second day of testimony from families of the victims and survivors of mass shootings in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde. An Arizona man convicted in the 1984 killing of an 8-year-old girl was put to death in the state's second execution since officials started carrying out the death penalty this year after a nearly eight-year hiatus. Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich says Frank Atwood died Wednesday by lethal injection for killing Vicki Lynne Hoskinson, whose body was found in the desert. Foo Fighters will honor the rock band's late drummer Taylor Hawkins with a pair of tribute concerts in September, with one in London and the other in Los Angeles. The twin shows will take place Sept. 3 at London's Wembley Stadium and Sept. 27 at The Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, featuring “his bandmates and his inspirations playing the songs that he fell in love with, and the ones he brought to life,” the band said in a statement. Lineups for each show will be announced at a later date. Hawkins died March 25 during a South American tour with the rock band. He was 50. A New York woman searching for her lost dog got a surprise when it was found by Oscar-winning actor Hilary Swank. While filming a movie in Albany, the actor reunited a lost pooch with distraught owner Chelsea Blackwell.  British prosecutors say they have authorized police to charge former film producer Harvey Weinstein with two counts of indecent assault against a woman in London in 1996. The Crown Prosecution Service said in a statement on Wednesday that “charges have been authorized” following a review of evidence gathered by London's Metropolitan Police. After revelations about Weinstein emerged in 2017, British police said they were investigating multiple allegations of sexual assault against Weinstein over several decades. Unlike many other countries, Britain does not have a statute of limitations for rape or sexual assault. Weinstein is serving a 23-year sentence for rape after his 2020 conviction in New York for offenses against two women. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development says Russia's war in Ukraine and the energy and food crises it worsened will severely drag down global economic growth and push up inflation this year. The Paris-based group on Wednesday said China's “zero-COVID” policy that has scrambled manufacturing supply chains also is weighing on a world economy that was starting to rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic. The OECD expects the global economy to expand 3% in 2022, down from the 4.5% it predicted in December. Inflation is forecast at nearly 9% for the OECD's 38 member countries, nearly double the previous estimate. It's the inflation you're not supposed to see. From toilet paper to yogurt to corn chips, manufacturers are quietly shrinking package sizes without lowering prices. It's dubbed “shrinkflation,” and it's accelerating worldwide. In the U.S., a small box of Kleenex now has 60 tissues; a few months ago, it had 65. In the U.K., Nestle slimmed down coffee tins from 100 grams to 90 grams. Shrinkflation isn't new, experts say. But it proliferates in times of high inflation as companies grapple with rising costs for ingredients, packaging, labor and transportation.  —The Associated Press See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
