This episode relates to the just concluded Geo Week in Denver. I went yesterday after receiving free entry to the exhibition hall by the guest from today's podcast. Similar to the Iceye episode released during Geospatial Risk Summit 2 weeks ago, this episode is a way to get a feel for the things discussed at Geo Week and who attends.Hayden Howard is Executive Vice President atCompassData, Inc. We return to the theme of global base maps created by tech companies in this episode. It extends the last one of the topic withJordan Regenie. He mentioned CompassData as participating in the Microsoft campaign to create 3D cities and Streetside imagery for Bing Maps. Hayden was decent enough to come on and explain what they did. In their own words, they're a “Leader in providing Global Ground Control Points (GCP) Survey data for remotely sensed data by satellites and other GIS applications.”Hayden also told us a story about how epic these surveys can be - such as going around Australia.A great episode and high time we hit the surveying subindex on the pod.THE GEOSPATIAL INDEXThe Geospatial Index is a comprehensive listing of all publicly traded geospatial businesses worldwide. Why? The industry is growing at ~5.4% annually (after inflation and after adjusting for base rates). This rate varies significantly, however, by sub index. For ~$400,000 to start, this growth rate is $5,000,000 over a working life. This channel, Bluesky account, newsletter, watchlist and podcast express the view that you are serious about geospatial if you take the view of an investor, venture capitalist or entrepreneur. You are expected to do your own research. This is not a replacement for that. This is not investment advice. Consider it entertainment.NOT THE OPINION OF MY EMPLOYERNOT YOUR FIDUCIARYNOT INVESTMENT ADVICEBluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/geospatial.moneyLinkedIn: https://uk.linkedin.com/in/geospatialindexWatchlist: https://www.tradingview.com/watchlists/123254792/Newsletter: https://www.geospatial.moneySpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5gpQUsaWxEBpYCnypEdHFC

As we head into Streetside's anniversary week, it seemed like a great chance to sit down with Garrett Hickey. Garrett is one of the owners, founders and a great person to talk to if we want to get a picture of how things have changed with the brewery over the last seven years. I'm always fascinated with how Streetside has developed its personality, even while a few different head brewers have managed to put their own spin on things during the same timeframe. We talked about a lot of things, from the brewery's stance on collaboration and why it's important from a professional and a personal level to what we think craft beer drinkers are looking for in 2023. Of course... you know that we also opened up a few beers while we chatted! At first glance a beer that makes a flavor connection to cereal might seem a little strange. However, if one takes a moment to consider how many seemingly crazy concoctions, connections, and creations are made these days in the craft beer world it doesn't seem so strange at all. It is important to have those go-to styles and old favorites to choose from, but it is just plain fun (and usually tasty) when breweries challenge our palates and perceptions with beers featuring sour patch kids, edible glitter, and gummy worms. These styles may not be for everyone, so we ask you to keep an open mind the next time someone offers you a beer that may initially seem off-putting. At the very least, we hope the next time someone offers you a podcast episode featuring a beer that also tastes like cereal milk you are at least willing to give it a listen. As fate would have it, we are doing just that as this week we will be trying the Cereal Milk from Streetside Brewery in Cincinnati Ohio. This beer is a Dunkelweizen and has an ABV of 5.5%. According to their website it “began its life as one of our weirder beer ideas and has turned into a Streetside cult hit.” What do you think? Let us know in the comments below or join us live on Thursday nights to give us your feedback while we are live streaming on Twitch. Again we are way our of our league but David was invited to work on a project with a great group of Cincinnati influencers in conjunction with Streetside Brewery. The result was a Pastry Brown Ale with Waffles. It was amazing. In this episode we drink the beer, interview some of the partners and even have a little taste of some Old Forester Birthday Bourbon. We appreciate everyone involved and Streetside for having us. Today on the Southern California Real Estate Report we talk about the dinning structures on San Diego's streets. So called streetside dinning was one of the only good things to come out of the pandemic . It allowed restaurants to survive by giving more or any outside dinning options to their patrons. The new program known as Spaces as Places will give restaurants the choice to keep their outdoor spaces with a fee and with proper safety measures.Learn more about this program and how we think the City of San Diego and restaurants patrons will benefit from keeping outdoor dinning alive on our San Diego streets.

On this episode, I sit down at Streetside Brewery in historic Columbia Tusculum w/ Matt Tomamichel, the Owner of Corporate – Cincinnati's premier sneaker & clothing shop. Not only is Matt the owner of Corporate, but he is also an accomplished designer, a giving philanthropist w/ his Bigger Than Sneakers non-profit, & just a helluva guy w/ some just inspiring & positive vibes. It was a pleasure to talk to Matt & listen to his come-up story while enjoying some cold Streetside brews. Corporate is located in Hyde Park & is known by sneakerheads across the country. However, creating such a successful business wasn't the only goal for Matt. Although his 2nd store recently opened w/ immediate hype & success in Indianapolis…that didn't seem to be what made him tick. Throughout our conversation you could see how excited he got when he talked about seeing people come up, or mentioning the pride he has in his team, or describing BTS – his Bigger Than Sneakers non-profit. It was those things, or the mentioning of his family, supporters, coaches, & mentors who were by his side & encouraging him & teaching him game along his journey to success that really lit him up. I could feel his energy when he described these people & things & it was obvious he was genuinely grateful for all of them. Like all real hustlers, he ‘s been humbled by failures & learned to embrace the lessons they leave in their wake. He respects the game, too, as he gets excited to see others shine & shows love to his community & empathy & compassion to those less fortunate. His climb to his current level of success makes perfect sense when he lays it out, but it was a grind the whole way & he deserves every ounce of success that he's earned. This dude is the truth & I'm excited for you to hear this interview. I hope you finish this & are as fired up as I was.

Creator, writer, actor, phone-sexxer.. Abed Gheith (Los Angeles) is a lifelong story-teller (“Streetside” 1990s, Channel 101, Frequency 101) whose work in, and knack for story-telling, sense of humour, fusion of influences and more, I find undeniable. Just look at “Groove Fighters”, “Phone Sexxers”, “The Pop” and “Toon Wolf”… look at the Steve Perry character in “Yacht Rock”.. what about unforgettable pilots like “It’s Twissleton” and “The Muhammads”!? deny that!? I think NOT. As a not so un-remarkable footnote of course, his likeness and pop-culture library of a mind were loosely the inspiration for the NBC show ‘Community’s Abed character (see GVP ep. 6 for that story). Much like myself as a kid, Abed RPGd with friends, cassette-recorded audio entertainment and was entranced by the MAGIC of Disney and Star Trek mid-90s and before… this very specific set of things all together isn’t something I share in common with A LOT of people. Feel free to join us on that ride, I really enjoyed talking about it. Today, Abed and his longtime friend Sevan Najarian hold the current title for longest running show on Frequency 101 (Channel 101’s audio-only shindig) “Enter the Dark”,and through every type of terrain it seems, Abed follows his instinct to create worlds and tell stories! It would seem that comes with some interesting life stories! Listen and find out! In this episode I spoke once again to friend of the show Mike Fadel, Director of Sales and Consignments at Streetside Classics. Streetside has made a major impact for both buyers and sellers of collector cars, muscle cars and otherwise by going strictly consignment and by utilizing massive amounts of data to fine tune where cars cab be bought and sold. And....it's working! In just the last few years they've been growing at a rapid rate and I wanted to see if he could give me the hottest look at what 2019 holds. Ask Rick: On this edition of Ask Rick Rick shared the final results from the recent AACA show in Ocala and regarding the judging of his 1955 Pontiac Star Chief specifically. He told me it passed with no issues! He went on to say that prior to AACA judging he did correct quite a few things with the car and he would be proud to enter it even into a Pontiac specific show. The vehicle specific shows are a bit different than AACA since the people that judge are specialists in those cars specifically where an AACA judge has a breadth of knowledge regarding all makes and models.
