Executive producers Wendy Mericle and Marc Guggenheim said. “In an unforgettable episode that will change ‘Arrow' forever, Katrina Law returns as the Daughter of the Demon, Nyssa Al Ghul. Nyssa comes to Star City to warn of an impending danger that will threaten everything we know and love.” http://variety.com/2018/tv/news/arrow-katrina-law-nyssa-al-ghul-1202675995/ GENERAL DC NEWS: Legends of Tomorrow adds Keiynan Lonsdale as series regular (Date: 19 Jan 2018) Welcome to the Waverider, Kid Flash! Following the departure of Franz Drameh and Victor Garber, Keiynan Lonsdale has joined the cast of DC's Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular, EW has learned. Executive producer Phil Klemmer said in a statement, “We loved working with Keiynan in our series premiere — the episode in which we learned that in between seasons 2 and 3 he had been fighting crime in Central City with Nick Zano's Nate Heywood. So when his character stepped away from Flash to go on walkabout, after being dumped and feeling somewhat estranged from his family and team, we knew that Wally West would fit in perfectly on Legends. After all, our show is about a collection of unlikely heroes who all began their journeys questioning who they are and where they belong — only to find those answers while traveling through time and having wacky adventures. So now, Wally West is not only back in the company of old friends from the Arrowverse, he's fighting alongside a former enemy and career arsonist Mick Rory/Dom Purcell. By the end of this season, Wally will learn that the Legends have a different definition of what it means to be a hero.” http://ew.com/tv/2018/01/19/legends-of-tomorrow-adds-keiynan-lonsdale-as-series-regular/ NEXT EPISODE Link to Promo: (Date: 01 Feb 2018) http://comicbook.com/dc/2018/02/02/arrow-season-6-episode-13-the-devils-greatest-trick/ Episode: “The Devil's Greatest Trick” [Season 6 Episode 13] Air Date: Thursday, February 8, 2018 Summary: Cayden James launches a full out attack when he uncovers a secret about the Green Arrow that puts him over the edge. Oliver Queen deals with the "Fallout" from last season's explosive finale. Most of his friends survived, but Thea is the worse for wear, and Samantha didn't make it. Samantha asks Oliver to take care of their son, but William isn't exactly thrilled to be living this new life with his Dad. And it seems that Black Siren has a bit of a vendetta against the team as well. She goes on a destructive rampage that ends up with a showdown in the Arrow Cave. Jay and Josh distribute fresh, Season 6 Big Belly Burgers on this week's episode of Green Justice: An Arrow Podcast. Listen in and justice will be served...to your MP3 player!

In fact, I can also tell you the finale doesn't even take place in the city. Finally, the citizens of Star City can breathe easily in May.” Wherever the finale takes place, Guggenheim adds, “You can expect a good number of returning characters, characters you haven't seen in a while, back in the episode.” Link:http://ew.com/tv/2017/03/24/spoiler-room-supergirl-greys-anatomy-blindspot/ ARROW: CAPTAIN BOOMERANG ACTOR TEASES RETURN (Date: 25 March 2017) The classic DC Comics rogue, better known as Captain Boomerang, was introduced on the third season of “Arrow,” in the two-part crossover with “The Flash,” but hasn't been shown since. However, actor Nick Tarabay suggests that could change soon. “Who really misses this guy?” the actor wrote in a tweet containing a photo of Boomerang. “Cause as you know….What goes around ALWAYS comes back around.” When Boomerang was last seen, he was incarcerated in the secret A.R.G.U.S. supermax prison on Lian Yu. How or when Boomerang might escape will have to remain mystery as of now. Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrow-captain-boomerang-return/ Marc Guggenheim says ‘Arrow's' Vigilante is someone we already know (Date: 26 March 2017) Vigilante has made a bad habit of getting in Oliver's (Stephen Amell) way — and the Green Arrow's way for that matter — all year, but no matter how often he shows up, we're no closer to unmasking him. According to executive producer Marc Guggenheim, that's a mystery for Season 6. We know who it is, but we were kind of intrigued by the idea of having a mystery that led into the next season,” Guggenheim told us at Paleyfest 2017. “We were excited at the prospect of just letting this play out for a little while longer, and it gives us something cool to do in Season 6. “As a general rule, I'm not a fan of mystery characters who when you take off the mask the audience goes, ‘What a minute, I've never seen that person before in my life,'” Guggenheim jokes. “I'm probably not spoiling anything by saying whoever's underneath the Vigilante mask, you've seen that person before.” Link:http://screenertv.com/television/arrow-marc-guggenheim-vigilantes-identity-someone-we-know/ ARROW: KATIE CASSIDY WILL RETURN AS SERIES REGULAR FOR SEASON 6 (Date: 27 March 2017) Laurel Lance is back! Sort of. Though her character died in Season 4, longtime “Arrow” star Katie Cassidy will return, but with a twist: she will play Black Siren, Earth-2's evil version of Laurel, as a series regular in Season 6. Additionally, Black Siren will feature in the last two episodes of Season 5. “One of the things that most excites us about ‘Arrow' is that we go where the story takes us. Last year, the story took us to the tragic death of Laurel Lance. This year, our midseason finale reintroduced us to Laurel's doppelgänger, Black Siren,” explained executive producer Marc Guggenheim in a statement. “We were so taken by Katie's fearless interpretation of this character that we knew her story was not yet finished. We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome Katie back to ‘Arrow' as Black Siren, though as her appearances on ‘Arrow' and ‘DC's Legends of Tomorrow' this season show, she never really left the family.” Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrow-katie-cassidy-series-regular-season-6-black-siren/ Arrow: What's really going on with Helix? (Date: 28 March 2017) “We are going to see somebody [else],” Mericle teases. “What's interesting about it is he's not actually at Helix right now, so there's going to be a big episode where we find out who this person is, and Felicity is involved in helping him. It's really messed up.” But Felicity's dealings with Helix will also help her to better understand what Team Arrow — Oliver (Stephen Amell) in particular — have been facing over the last five seasons. “Felicity's use of Pandora is very similar to Oliver and Diggle's [David Ramsey] use of violence,” EP Marc Guggenheim says. “It's the hacker equivalent. You're using violence for a good means, but violence is not necessarily a good thing. So what's the cost to Felicity in doing that? We don't want to turn Felicity into a killer, but we wanted to explore how Felicity has been spending basically five years with Team Arrow now, and she's been spending five years with people who solve problems by not just resorting to violence, but by resorting to means that are morally questionable. Felicity is going to start discovering what happens when you fight fire with fire — do you get burned?” Link:http://ew.com/tv/2017/03/28/arrow-felicity-helix-spoilers/ Legends of Tomorrow boss, cast on that shocking Felicity twist (Date: 28 March 2017) Marc Guggenheim told EW, “It's always nice when you can pull in a character from one of the other shows. We talked about a lot of different ideas, and I said, ‘Since this is an alternate reality and we'll probably never have the opportunity to do so again, I think it would be fun if we did Felicity as a superhero,' because I've said it before, I'll say it again: I have zero intention of ever putting Felicity in a mask and costume on Arrow. There's two lines in the sand that I've drawn for Arrow for myself,” Guggenheim says. “I can't speak for Greg [Berlanti] or for Wendy [Mericle], but for as long as I'm involved with the show, the two things I never want to do is kill off Thea [Willa Holland] and put Felicity in a mask and a costume. Those, to me, are two lines that I just think are a bridge too far. Thea, because we've taken so many family members away from Oliver, and Felicity because when you put a character like that in a costume, I think it diminishes who that character is and it makes the idea of superheroics seem silly.” Link:http://ew.com/tv/2017/03/28/legends-tomorrow-felicity-superhero-death/ Matt's Inside Line: Scoop on Once, Lucifer, Scorpion, Arrow, Grimm, Suits, Mr. Robot, Chicago Med and More (Date: 30 March 2017) Any hint as to when Arrow's Thea will return? — Willa Holland will be on hand for the final three of this season's five remaining episodes. “Thea is the daughter of sociopaths, which is one of the biggest challenges any human being can really face,” notes co-showrunner Wendy Mericle, “so she's going to grappling with that and trying to understand: What is this in her that makes her so kind of Moira-esque, and how is she going to manage it? Ultimately, she and Oliver are going to come to the same conclusion about how to do that, by the finale.” Link:http://tvline.com/2017/03/30/once-upon-a-time-season-6-spoilers-snow-charming-sleeping-curse/ GENERAL DC TV NEWS Lynda Carter Confirms That She Is Playing A Durlan on Supergirl (Date: 28 March 2017) The episode of Supergirl, titled "Distant Sun," provided the audience with a much clearer look at the "true form" of President Olivia Marsdin, who had been revealed early this season as a shape-shifting alien. In the privacy of her own office Marsdin was able to transform completely into a quasi-reptilian alien form. Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/03/28/lynda-carter-confirms-that-she-is-playing-a-durlan-on-supergirl/ Will The Thinker Be The Flash's Season 4 Big Bad? (Date: 28 March 2017) When Abra Kadabra was talking to The Flash about his most dangerous foes, he rattled off a number of familiar names, including Zoom and Eobard Thawne...and one less-familiar one (at least to the TV audience): "DeVoe." Longtime comic book readers would recognize that name: Clifford DeVoe is a longtime Flash and Titans villain better known as The Thinker. Created in 1943, The Thinker is one of The Flash's earliest villains. Originally a foe to Jay Garrick, DeVoe battled three generations of Flashes before his death in The Flash #134 in 1998. After his death, though, his brain patterns were used to create an AI that went on to become an antihero. You just want to play to your strengths, and keep having fun.” Link:http://www.cbr.com/legends-of-tomorrow-expect-new-characters-in-season-3/ LEGENDS OF TOMORROW PLAN TO RESTORE REALITY IN SEASON FINALE PROMO (Date: 29 March 2017) The finale, “Aruba,” will not air at its regular time, but will debut Tuesday, April 4th at 8:00 EST. So yes, she is Talia al Ghul, but Oliver obviously doesn't know that.” Link:http://ew.com/tv/2017/03/10/spoiler-room-this-is-us-legends-tomorrow-vampire-diaries/ Arrow's Colton Haynes Got Engaged, With Help From Cher (Date: 12 March 2017) Former Arrow and Teen Wolf star, Colton Haynes, and Jeff Leatham, who manages the floral designs at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, got engaged. The happy couple have been vacationing in Los Cabos, Mexico, and, Leatham made it extra special by proposing to Haynes on the beach at Las Ventanas al Paraiso. "I SAID YES!!!," Haynes wrote on Instragram, including an image of the two kissing while celebratory fireworks exploded behind them.Leatham used his celebrity connections to get Cher — the 70-year-old singer, actress, and gay icon — to send a special message to his boyfriend. GENERAL DC TV NEWS Who Can Save Iris on 'The Flash'? Candice Patton Has the BEST Answer (Date: 15 March 2017) Ever since Barry (Grant Gustin) slipped through time and saw god of speed Savitar slaughtering his true love, Iris (Candice Patton), The Flash has been all about changing the future to save her life. Honestly, it's starting to look a little bleak...especially since the producers haven't even clued Patton into what lies ahead for her character! "No, they didn't tell me," she confesses with a laugh. "I have no idea and it's a little alarming. I think I know, but you never really know. I am just in the dark as the audience so it will be really interesting to see if Team Flash can pull it off. I'm hoping they can, because I need a job." He's popped up here and there over the course of the last season in hallucinations or flashbacks, but next week's episode will see him finally return in earnest. As the latest trailer indicates, it is a suitably tragic moment for his former comrades, because he bemusedly looks ready for a deadly fight. The new photos also provide a better look at many of the supporting characters inside the dream, including Iris West (Candice Patton), Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Arrow and Legends star Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman). Throughout the season, Prometheus/Chase's attacks kept intensifying and becoming more and more personal. In his determination to destroy Oliver, Prometheus went so far as to kidnap Green Arrow's girlfriend, Susan, determined to make Oliver suffer as much as he has. Ahead of the next stage of Prometheus' master plan, CBR spoke with actor Josh Segarra about what he feels makes his bad guy tick, and his plans for Oliver Queen and Team Arrow. Link:http://www.cbr.com/interview-arrow-prometheus-josh-segarra/ Is Arrow's Talia Al Ghul Good Or Evil? Here's What The Actress Says (Date: 14 March 2017) Arrow got a whole lot more badass in the flashbacks in Season 5 thanks to the introduction of none other than Talia al Ghul, who is best known as the daughter of Ra's al Ghul in DC Comics. Arrow's version of Talia stands on her own, however, and she doesn't seem beholden to her father in the slightest. Lexa Doig plays Talia in the flashbacks, and she has brought layers of ambiguity to the character that has led many viewers to wonder if Talia is good or evil deep down. Doig recently spoke to CinemaBlend about her role on Arrow. She addressed why she and the other showrunners made Chase Prometheus instead of Vigilante, why those chose now to make this reveal, what drives Chase to torture Oliver Queen and more. Why make Chase Prometheus instead of Vigilante? “I think one of the reasons we did that was because everyone would be thinking, “Of course he's Vigilante!” Adrian Chase is Vigilante in the comic books, as you pointed out, and we thought it would be a really fun sort of twist to do what we've always done on the show, which is to take the comic book mythology and turn it on its head and see what kind of story we could mine from a surprise like that. It was also just something different for this season. We wanted to change up how we introduced the big bad and change up when we did it and how we did it. Hopefully, we succeeded in that this year.” She also said that Prometheus is going to mess with Lance as well. CURRENT EPISODE DC EASTER EGGS & POP CULTURE REFERENCES Season Episode “Second Chances” (Date: 01 Feb 2017) Article: http://comicbook.com/2017/02/02/arrow-easter-eggs-and-things-you-might-have-missed-in-second-cha/ HUB CITY - Hub City, a fictional city in the DC Universe, is best known as the home to The Question, a self-taught urban shaman. The last time we saw the city on Arrow was when Esrin Fortuna helped Oliver take on Damien Darhk...and of course, when Hub City started to show up in showrunner Marc Guggenheim's tweets this year, there was plenty of speculation that he was teasing The Question. Turns out, he was teasing the Black Canary! BIG BELLY BURGER - Big Belly Burger, a fictional fast-food restaurant in the DC Universe, is the fast food of choice for people who are in hiding, in jail, or otherwise cut off from the world on The Flash. Here, we saw Team Arrow hanging out there in Hub City while Felicity got it delivered to her in the Arrowcave during her side quest. FAMILY SECRET - When Talia refers to her agelessness as a "family secret," it's the kind of cutesy clue that Nyssa used to drop in her early appearances, where she didn't directly name-drop Ra's al Ghul or the Lazarus Pit, but made references that were pretty clear to people in the know. Back then, of course, we always wondered whether Ra's would ever make an appearance. Now, he's come and gone, and we know that this kind of vague dialogue is mostly to keep continuity tidy so that Oliver doesn't realize exactly who he's dealing with when Ra's and Nyssa come in later. THE FLASH & CAPTAIN SINGH - In what Marc Guggenheim tweeted was the quickest crossover Arrow has ever done with The Flash, we got to see Barry speed (in costume) into his boss's office to vouch for Green Arrow. What's nice to see is Captain Singh, Barry's boss, who hasn't been seen much this season. It felt a bit like last night, when the long-absent Miss Tessmacher from Supergirl had a quick cameo on The Flash. SONUS - Sean Sonus, alias Discord is a sonic villain who fights Green Arrow and Black Canary. He first appeared in Green Arrow and Black Canary #15, and was co-created by Arrow EP Andrew Kreisberg and artist Mike Norton. DINAH DRAKE - "Dinah Drake" is actually the name of the original/Earth-2 Black Canary, who existed in the comics before Dinah Lance did. ARROW NEWS: New Arrow Episode Gets A Russian Title As It Begins Production (Date: 30 Jan 2017) Marc Guggenheim, the show's executive producer, shared a cover of the new episode's script, and let fans know that it was beginning production. Flashbacks reveal how Rene went from simple family man to a hero named Wild Dog. Meanwhile, Oliver (Stephen Amell) must deal with the perpetrator behind the attack and realizes the best way to do so is as Mayor Queen instead of the Green Arrow. Actually, when TVLine last spoke to Wendy Mericle, the Arrow scribes were in the midst of hashing out a return scenario for Little Miss Benedict Arnold. “We have a really cool, exciting twist for how she's going to reappear,” the EP teased, noting: “The interesting thing about the choices Evelyn has made is that as much as she took the moral high ground when confronting Oliver, she has allied herself with someone who is even worse,” in Prometheus. “She's gone from the frying pan into the fire.” Link:http://tvline.com/2017/01/31/bones-final-season-spoilers-booth-gordon-wyatt/ Wayback Wednesday: Watch The First Ever Trailer For Arrow (Date: 01 Feb 2017) In honor of Wayback Wednesday - and a brand new episode of Arrow tonight - it's about time to take a look back at the first ever trailer for Arrow. This footage was seen in 2012, and it talked a lot about Oliver Queen's return to the real world, after he was thought to be dead. The trailer shows Oliver on the island, beard and all, as well as his assimilation back into society. Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/02/02/wayback-wednesday-watch-the-first-ever-trailer-for-arrow/ ARROW: TINA BOLAND'S REAL NAME WILL BE FAMILIAR TO DC COMICS FANS (Date: 01 Feb 207) “Tina Boland” is her undercover name; her real name is Dinah Drake. If that sounds familiar, that's because Dinah Drake is the name of the original Black Canary. Dinah debuted in 1947's “Flash Comics” #86 as Black Canary. Later, she married a man named Larry Lance and subsequently changed her name to Dinah Lance. Inspired by Dinah, her daughter Dinah Laurel Lance would go on to become a founding member of the Justice League. When the New 52 restarted DC Comics' continuity, the Black Canary legacy was retconned, and Dinah Drake was restored as the one and only Black Canary. This New 52 version of Dinah Drake was formerly married to Kurt Lance, but the two divorced. Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrow-tina-boland-black-canary-dinah-drake/ Arrow: What is Helix? (Date: 01 Feb 2017) Helix was a supervillain group led by Dr. Benjamin Love, aka Mr. Bones. The members were six mutated children who had been experimented on and then kidnapped by Love. They grew up to be a rather bizarre cast of characters, including Kritter (a human/dog hybrid) and Baby Boom (a young child who can cause explosions with her mind). It's safe to assume that any future appearances of Helix will certainly be way more grounded in reality - with any mention of the original characters probably being used as online screennames. This is similar to the inclusion of the secret organization Shadowspire in Arrow, which was given a much more realistic makeover. When recently discussing the dynamic between Felicity and Diggle going forward, Arrow executive-producer Wendy Mericle mentioned that the events in 'Second Chances' will play into the rest of the season. "Part of what kicks [Felicity] off down this darker path is she's going to find evidence to exonerate him -- and [Diggle's] going to have to deal with the fallout of the fact that Felicity is now going down a questionable path in part because of him." With that in mind, there's a very good chance that tonight's episode will not be the last time we hear of Helix on Arrow. Heroes Unite.” In the episode, a White Martian arrives in National City to capture M'gann and return her to Mars, where she's to be punished as a traitor. Unwilling to allow that to happen, Hank Henshaw and Supergirl bring M'gann to the Department of Extra-Normal Operations for protection, only for circumstances to turn from bad to worse. So there's a fair amount of Flash-ness going on in Legends. I wish I could say that we were so smart to take advantage of the new timeslot and do that, but we weren't that smart. We just had already sort of been doing that organically anyway when we found out about the new timeslot. I will say this: There's a love scene in episode 11 and we were in the editing room on it — it's a love scene, it gets a little steamy — and I was joking, ‘Let's take that 9 p.m. timeslot out for a spin.'” The article has the audio of the interview with Guggenheim. As for when we'll get to see the duo in action, it looks like episode twelve, titled "Untouchable," is a good bet as it'll feature a subplot with the Scarlet Speedster helping Kid Flash elevate his game to the next level. Check out the new "Lightning Strikes Twice" poster. Details on his return are still scarce, but the actor gave EW a little tease of what to expect. “I was there last week,” he shared at Honda's “Hockey Goes Hollywood” event in Los Angeles. “I can tell you that my scenes are with Grant [Gustin] and Danielle [Panabaker]. And I may or may not be alive.” That last part is key, considering the last we saw of Ronnie, he died as a result of destroying the singularity that opened up the path to Earth-2, where that planet's Ronnie was a villain named Deathstorm. Being back on Flash is always a treat for Amell, who got to catch up with his TV wife and former superhero partner and have his first true Ronnie and Barry scene. When asked about Captain Cold, he said, “He is going to be a full-fledged member of the Legion of Doom and be very valuable to them on multiple fronts. When asked about Savitar, he said, “Savitar is the biggest threat that any of them have faced. Fortunately, Barry doesn't have to do this alone. He's always had Team Flash. Other people are getting powers. It's going to take everyone working together to stop him. Wally is super-crucial to that.” Also, he won't be singing in the musical episode. Details of her character aren't known, but it's described by the CW as “a mysterious new role that will become the new Big Bad of Season 2.” Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg said of Hatcher's casting, “No offense to any of the wonderful actresses who have also played the part, but Teri Hatcher is my all time favorite Lois Lane. To have her come back to the SuperWorld in a completely different part is an unbelievable gift to me, Greg, and the fans.” Link:http://deadline.com/2017/01/supergirl-teri-hatcher-season-2-cast-recurring-1201898430/ ‘Black Lightning' Drama Eyes Move To the CW To Join Greg Berlanti Comic Lineup (Date: 02 Feb 2017) Deadline has learned that Black Lightning, the high-profile drama based on the DC character, which had a big production commitment at Fox, is on the move and likely to land at the CW. The project comes from Greg Berlanti, king of the CW's DC universe. Fox brass ultimately decided that the superhero show was not a good fit. The CW is home of Berlanti Prods.'s four DC/WBTV superhero series — Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, which Berlanti also co-created. That makes the network a suitable home for Black Lightning, which would give the CW's DC universe its first major African American superhero. Black Lightning would be the only black superhero toplining his own broadcast series and the second currently on TV, joining Marvel's Luke Cage on Netflix. Now, the Emerald Archer is following in the Dark Knight's footsteps one more time, and he's bringing the rest of CW's DC-Verse with him in this Arrow credit sequence, animated in the style of the Batman '66 TV credits by YouTube user Dave Jones. In trying to explain the story, series star Stephen Amell turned to a familiar superhero staple for audiences: Batman Begins. "Susan appears to be up to no good, but in reality, she's just following a very interesting story," Amell told reporters during a set visit back in November. "I mean, the mayor of the town where she's a reporter was clearly not on an island for five consecutive years -- which, by the way, I think it's about time we did that. I always think back to the first Nolan Batman, where Ra's al Ghul says to him 'The world is too small a place for someone like Bruce Wayne to disappear.' Even if [Oliver] wasn't as famous -- and he wasn't -- he did perish in a very famous incident in our story. I always thought when he was in Hong Kong that someone would stop him and be like, 'Hey, you look like Oliver Queen!' but it didn't happen." More than 1,800 participated — twice as many women as men — but the results proved there isn't such a great divide between the sexes after all, at least when it comes to what types of females we enjoy watching on screens. #15 is Felicity Smoak - Felicity was supposed to be a minor character, but her chemistry with Oliver Queen made her a fan favorite. By season two of The CW's adaptation of the DC comic, she was a regular player. "Felicity has developed over the course of the series," says Rickards. "She's from a regular world. She's relatable, honest and grounded. But she's not boring." During a new installment of The CW's Fan Feast, actor Carlos Valdes (Vibe) confirmed that Gypsy/Cindy Reynolds will be introduced at some point when the show returns in January. “There's going to be a new visitor to our world named Gypsy,” said Valdes. "DC Comics fans will be familiar with Gypsy. She is going to be coming in our world and Vibe will definitely get to learn some new skills as part of getting to know her. So I'm excited to see how that plays out.” Based on Valdes' comments, it's safe to assume that they'll be going with the New 52 incarnation of the character, who was a runaway from another dimension. The move came after the Oct. 21 appointment of the superhero to fight for gender equality sparked heavy criticism, with nearly 45,000 people signing an online petition asking U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to reconsider selection of the character. "Although the original creators may have intended Wonder Woman to represent a strong and independent 'warrior' woman with a feminist message, the reality is that the character's current iteration is that of a large breasted, white woman of impossible proportions," the petition read. Dozens of U.N. employees protested at the U.N. headquarters in New York City on the day of the appointment when Diane Nelson, president of DC Entertainment, said the Wonder Woman campaign would feature various initiatives "over the course of the next year." The U.N. did not provide further details as to why the Wonder Woman campaign was ending this week but spokesman Jeffrey Brez said campaigns using fictional characters often lasted no longer than a few months. We've had him running into the premiere almost every year, we didn't have him running in this year, but we have him running in the hundredth episode." Dinah Laurel Lance - Full-naming your fiancee while doing cutesy talk isn't entirely unheard-of, but here it's a nice little reminder that, yes, Laurel is actually Dinah Lance from the comics, the longtime Justice League and Birds of Prey member known as the Black Canary. Laurel's necklace is the Black Canary logo from the comics Oliver and Company - The reference, in case you missed it the first hundred times we used it or when Cisco explained it this week, is to a Disney animated film from the '80s. It was a musical comedy about a group of streetwise dogs who take in a small, orange cat, in which the soundtrack was primarily driven by Billy Joel, whose biggest fan is probably Arrow EP Marc Guggenheim. Per Guggenheim, he made the Oliver and Company joke in the script, but it was actor Carlos Valdes who added the Billy Joel nod. The Hozen - In the pilot, Oliver gave Thea a Hōzen (宝箭) -- an arrowhead-shaped stone he found around the neck of a dead Japanese soldier on Lian Yu. In the pilot, he told her -- as she tells him this week -- that in Japanese Buddhism, the hōzen symbolizes reconnecting. Palmer's Buyout Offer - The Palmer Technologies buyout of Queen Consolidated came in season 3 of the TV show, but apparently here, Palmer was hovering around Queen as soon as he heard Robert Queen was thinking of stepping down. Van Horn Industries - Van Horn Industries is the name of a company owned by the family of Andrew Van Horn, a superhero known as Gunfire. Gunfire was created during the Bloodlines attack, a '90s attempt to create a bunch of new superheroes by giving them a common starting point: an alien invasion where some of the victims of parasitic, cannibalistic aliens survived and gained powers. Hood Sketch - Along with Diggle under the hood, we get a look at the original Hood sketch and newspaper clippings that made up part of the Starling City Police Department's Rip Hunter-style chalkboard looking for the Arrow in season 1. MY NAME IS OLIVER QUEEN - When Oliver starts to introduce himself, he goes with "My name is Oliver Queen," just like he does in the voice over at the start of nearly every episode. Felicity hilariously cuts him off with "everyone knows who you are." Which serves the story -- he's a famous, wealthy socialite -- and the meta-text of the episode. CHICAGO MED - That roundabout thing about how Tommy is a doctor in Chicago now, and he just couldn't break away from his long shifts to come visit for the wedding? That's a whole lot of meta, talking about actor Colin Donnell, who played Tommy in season 1 and has periodically come back in flashbacks and other such stories. Donnell couldn't come for the hundredth episode because he's now a regular on Chicago Med, which is in production and couldn't spare him. THE PATH NOT TAKEN - This story seem familiar? Like last year's Supergirl episode "For the Girl Who Has Everything," or the "Flashpoint" episode of The Flash? What about "Perchance to Dream" from Batman: The Animated Series? THE FERN - It came back! Was seen when Ollie enters Diggle's Arrowcave ARROW NEWS: Heroes & Villains Fan Fest: Arrow Cast Panel Recap (Date: 19 Nov 2016) Highlights from the Arrow panel include: David Ramsey thankful he has a new helmet, Willa Holland misses wearing the Speedy outfit, and John Jr. is suppose to tie into the Conner Hawke storyline. One of the things that I'm learning now as someone that has a big responsibility at the head of a television show and has some business interests and is a husband and a father– priorities not being in that order — I don't want to stretch myself too thin, and I wouldn't want to do something if I couldn't put my heart and soul into it.” Link:http://www.cbr.com/stephen-amell-has-been-in-contact-with-american-ninja-warrior/?utm_source=CBR-TW&utm_medium=Social-Distribution&utm_campaign=CBR-TW&view=list ARROW & PROMETHEUS HAVE AN EXPLOSIVE CONFRONTATION IN NEW PHOTOS (Date: 23 Nov 2016) Team “Arrow” is in deep trouble. In “What We Leave Behind,” the episode following the “Invasion!” crossover, Oliver discovers that Prometheus knows his and his fellow vigilantes' secret identities. What follows is an explosive confrontation between Green Arrow and his mysterious foe. The photos below show Green Arrow and Prometheus coming to blows, but Oliver is not alone. He has a little help from Spartan and Wild Dog, and it looks like they're going to fight fire with fire. Guggenheim admits to having some regrets: “The truth is, I don't think I've ever been involved with an hour of television on any show where there hasn't been something I wanted to take back,” he says. “Doing 23 episodes a year, you're just constantly running, so nothing ever turns out exactly the way you want it to. In other words, my list of regrets is actually incredibly long; it's 100 episodes long. I'd say probably my biggest regret is I wish we had allowed the Oliver-Felicity storyline in season 4 to unfold at a more natural pace. We had set these tentpoles at the beginning of the season, and we were a bit too rigorous on how we hit them. That was a case where the planning overtook the storytelling. We didn't do things as naturally and as elegantly as we should have.” Link:http://www.ew.com/article/2016/11/29/arrow-100-episode-spoilers ‘Arrow' EP Marc Guggenheim On Tonight's 100th Episode, CW's Mega-Crossover & What's Next (Date: 30 Nov 2016) Reflecting on Arrow's future and past, as well as the labyrinth and rewards of the multi-show saga, Guggenheim spoke with Deadline about how “Invasion” came together as a crossover and a stand-alone episode of the Vancouver-filmed show. The EP, who developed the show with Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, also hinted at where things could go next for the archer and his team as Arrow heads towards next week's Season 5 winter finale, who we may see more of from the show's past, and what the next crossover could be like. The episode drew in 86% more viewers ages 18-49 than it did on November 16. The episode was a tenth down from last year's superhero crossover special, but its viewership was still impressive. More than 3.52 million people watched the episode. In the interview, when asked about Lillian's means justifying the end, she said, “That is such a great moral question. Everybody could ask themselves that and come up with a whole slew of different answers. It just goes back to the question of, when is it right to do the wrong thing? That opens up a whole can of worms about good and evil, black and white. Where's the gray? Ultimately, she isn't crazy, but she's definitely committed to the end. It does justify the means for her. Obviously, she's been willing to sacrifice any kind of personal relationships with this single-minded focus. There are costs for this character to achieve her commitment.” Link:http://www.cbr.com/brenda-strong-talks-supergirl/ SUPERGIRL: MEHCAD BROOKS COMPARES JAMES OLSEN'S GUARDIAN TO BATMAN (Date: 28 Nov 2016) During a recent set visit, Brooks told CBR and other reporters that James' CatCo position has made him more like the Dark Knight. “I kind of liken it to Bruce Wayne, running an enterprise during the day and then at night putting on the sleek black suit and your costume,” he explained. “James in the DC Universe has seen examples of it before, right? He's never had to do it himself. Yeah, I think he was ready for both of those responsibilities anyway, so now he's handling it well, but at first not so much.” He also discusses the suit, why James is reluctant to tell Kara, and why he thinks Superman would approve. The episode, titled “Medusa,” scored a solid 1.1 rating in the core 18-49 demographic, and was watched by 3.51 million viewers in total. That an uptick from last week's episode of Supergirl that puts the ratings for “Medusa” on par with the second season premiere of Supergirl. The phase-shifting Kitty Pryde at long-last will become an X-Men team leader, whose squad includes Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Old Man Logan, and Rachel Grey. “Kitty is the right person to bring the X-Men into the future, to herald in the next era of the X-Men,” Guggenheim told us in a phone interview. “We are post the war with the Inhumans. The X-Men are sort of at a crossroads. They're at a point where they are trying to decide, is there a future for the X-Men? And Kitty is very much of the mindset that there is a future for the X-Men and it's a bright future.” Guggenheim is best known as co-showrunner and writer on The CW's Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow and previously worked on the adjectiveless X-Men book in 2014 featuring an all-female cast of characters. The Torah - “Is that from the Torah?” Oliver asks Rory before the Moby-Dick metaphor starts. That's a not-so-subtle nod to Ragman's Jewish heritage, which has been mentioned before. It's worth a note that Rory and Felicity's Jewish heritage makes the current incarnation of Team Arrow probably the most diverse groups of superheroes ever assembled on TV, with Oliver being the only non-ethnic male on the team. It's happened without much in the way of the fanfare and attention these things usually get, so it seems worth at least a mention. Channel 52 - Here, it's Channel 52's news story when Oliver is checking on Dunn. McGuire's ? - It's not clear whether McGuire's (which could also be Maguire's or McGwire's) bar is actually meant to be a reference, but if it is, it's likely to Bridget McGuire, who was an art director on Arrow's first two seasons. ..IS THAT A 'ROCKY IV' REFERENCE? - Because it's Dolph Lundgren playing a big Russian, we're going to be looking for references to Rocky IV pretty much every week until we're sure we've seen one. That said, wrapping his hands in gauze like you do before you put your boxing gloves on (yes, we know his hands were injured. Still!), and then having him unleash a hail of haymakers on Oliver carries a little bit of an Ivan Drago context to it, doesn't it? John Jr. - This is the first time we've seen John Diggle, Jr. actually appear onscreen! He's a cute kid. He also, if you remember, used to be Sara Diggle (named for the then-dead-now-better Sara Lance) before Barry Allen traveled back in time and changed history in the "Flashpoint" event. HUB CITY - "The Marshals are halfway to Hub City by now," Lyla Michaels tells Diggle. Hub City, a fictional city in the DC Universe, is best known as the home to The Question, a self-taught urban shaman. While The Question didn't appear when Oliver visited the city last year, mystic Esrin Fortuna seemed like she had a similar role (and since there was a female Question for a while, some fans on Twitter briefly wondered whether that could be what we were seeing unfold). Moby Dick is a novel written by Herman Melville in 1851. The narrator is Ishmael, and he recounts his time on the whaling ship Pequod under the command of Captain Ahab. Ahab recklessly pursues the white whale, Moby Dick, noted for destroying whaling ships. Ahab's wooden leg is a result of an encounter with Moby Dick. SP's add: Judge Balderama - Oscar Balderama. The video reveals a few glimpses of the “Arrow”-verse's latest threat: yellow, mind-controlling aliens with needle-like teeth and large red spots on their foreheads. Eagle eyes will spot a glimpse of Deathstroke. Link: http://www.cbr.com/new-arrowverse-crossover-promo-offers-first-look-at-the-dominators/ All in the Family (Date: 18 Nov 2016) Highlights from the article in Entertainment Weekly: The crossover story involves the Dominators, mind-controlling space invaders alarmed by Earth's surging population of metahumans. 15 characters from the 4 shows will assemble in an aeronautics facility that's part of STAR labs. This is when Barry Allen introduces Supergirl to the group. At first Diggle is not sure why Supergirl is special, but gets impressed when she hovers. Berlanti is not a fan of the shows being called the “Berlantiverse.” According to him, “There are just so many people that are also part of this. Plus, you never want anything named after you that people could be upset or angry about.” The creators like that the shows are steeped in genuine relationship drama and that they are about something. “These shows have to work on multiples levels,” says Berlanti, “You want them to be enjoyable. But if they're not about something, why are you showing up to work every day and asking everybody to pour their heart and soul into a story if it's only about the Flash fighting a villain of the week?” As for bumps in the road the shows have had? Berlanti says, “We certainly made errors along the way. But that's been part of the fun, too.” Tidbits about each show after the crossover: Arrow - Prometheus should be unmasked soon. “Always in our midseason finales, we like to revisit the big bad,” hints Berlanti. The Flash - The annual Christmas episode is set to be tearful and will also flesh out villains Savitar and Dr. Alchemy. Legends: Captain Cold and Malcolm Merlyn join the Legion of Doom. When asked if he was having fun doing the show, Lundgren replied, “Yes, it has been a blast. It's fun to play this character. I think he was well-written and I have a lot of fun with it, and the fact that I don't really know where it's going is interesting because I have to keep the character alive sort of within myself over quite a long period of [time]. ... I know it's going to be six months for sure because I'm doing some stuff in February. So yeah, that's interesting. Savitar was brought into the “Flash” comics way back in 1995's “The Flash” (Vol. 2) #108 by writer Mark Waid and artist Oscar Jimenez. Savitar has the ability to transfer speed from one being to another. Thus, he's able to power an entire army of ninjas with energy from the Speed Force, using them to steal speed from existing speedsters. We soon learn that Savitar is a self-proclaimed god who formed a Speed Force-obsessed cult for himself, developing a messiah complex along the way. Savitar got his powers amidst the Cold War as a fighter pilot that accidentally broke the sound barrier. The footage shows the Justice League scrambling to end a global phenomena being caused by dark magic. When it comes to casting, Justice League Dark nabbed several big names from the DC Animated Universe. Jason O'Mara will voice Batman while Matt Ryan will play Constantine. Zatanna will be voiced by Camilla Luddington, Deadman by Nicholas Turturro, and Etrigan by Ray Chase. Rosario Dawson will play Wonder Woman, and Superman will be voiced by Jerry O'Connell. Justice League Dark is expected to hit DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital HD in early 2017. (Date: 15 Nov 2016) In addition to the arrival of the pointy-eared antagonists, the teaser also included the first look at Citizen Steel's helmet, the return of Deathstroke — and the first glimpse of a new, intimidating logo we haven't seen before. Now, the question arises: who's icon is that? In a recent report, it was revealed that the CW version of the Dominators utilize a form of mind control, a departure from their comic book counterparts. The logo seen in the trailer has us thinking, perhaps there's another, longer-lasting reason the alien invaders will be employing this technique in their battle for Earth. In the comics, the Kobra Cult is a terrorist organization dedicated to controlling the world. In short, exactly the sort of group the Arrowverse loves to introduce as foils to its heroes, and one whose debut during a crossover of this magnitude could lay the seeds for multiple storylines across future seasons for every DC/CW show. Another superhero anniversary is upon us, as Green Arrow turns 75 this year! So we're looking back at the long crazy history of our favorite comic book archer (sorry, Hawkeye). We recall how Green Arrow totally ripped off Batman (Arrow Car, Arrow Cave, kid sidekick...), his Justice League induction (because Superman and Wonder Woman would be helpless without a bow & arrow dude), his one true love (Black Canary, of course), his 1970s Mego doll (good luck not losing that tiny bow), and most importantly, his weird little goatee. Green Arrow made just one TV appearance during his first sixty years; apparently he was just an adequate friend, because the Super Friends never invited him back. But in recent years, he has popped up in multiple cartoons, as well as Smallville, and of course, his current hit TV series Arrow. (They dropped the "Green" for the show's title, probably to get an earlier listing in the phone book.) But Green Arrow isn't the only comic book subject in this week's show, as we also look at Long Distance, a romantic comedy (in graphic novel format) by Thom Zahler. And in honor of National Piercing Day, we recall how a quarter century ago, we were all freaked out by Jane Child. Plus: Kevin and Kornflake reveal their own archery experience (or lack thereof), and design their own trick arrows. (You know you want a rubber chicken arrow.)

The writers have written so well for me and I've had such an incredible arc. It made sense to me creatively. Laurel's story has come to an end in the Arrowverse. I love everyone on set and our crew. Being there for four and a half years, they've become family, so it's hard to not go into work every day and get to work with such amazing people. That part is certainly sad, but I was okay with it. We all came to an understanding that this was what was going to happen and it made sense to me. I think the shock value is good. It's such a jolt and a turn in the story that it gives the writers so much more to do and places to go with it. Otherwise, I feel like shows can get stale. It takes a lot to create a "Broken Arrow". Putting Roy Harper in a dangerous jail where he gets stabbed and left for dead might do it. Having a deadly, eye-beam laden meta-human robbing banks in Starling City, and having to rely on Ray Palmer and his ATOM suit, might do it. Captain Lance infiltrating and shutting down the Arrow Cave in a fit of planter-breaking anger might do it. But having the Demon's Head be extremely unkind to your sister is sure to do it. Jay and Josh discuss metas, death, and broken coffee tables on this week's Green Justice: An Arrow Podcast. Listen in, and justice will be served to your MP3 player.
