While Arrow has never actually had a love triangle between Oliver, Felicity and Laurel, it's safe to say their fans don't acknowledge that. In this installment, we discuss the ins and outs (pun!) of the Lauriver love scene from 1x22 and the first Olicity love scene in 3x20. How were these two scenes different? And why do those differences matter (and believe us, THEY DO)?

Doesn't mean Arrow might not try to pass off some other alternative but when it comes to the story that makes the most sense, Mia has to be an Olicity baby!

RSS Feed: http://afterbuzztv.com/aftershows/arrow-afterbuzz-tv-aftershow/feed/ ABOUT ARROW: Arrow is an American television series developed by writer/producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg. It is based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, a costumed crime-fighter who was created by Mort Weisinger and George Papp. It premiered in North America on The CW on October 10, 2012, with international broadcasting taking place in late 2012. The series follows billionaire playboy Oliver Queen, portrayed by Stephen Amell, who, after five years of being stranded on a hostile island, returns home to fight crime and corruption as a secret vigilante whose weapon of choice is a bow and arrow. Unlike in the comic books, Oliver does not go by the alias "Green Arrow" in the television series. Arrow also features appearances by other DC Comics characters. The series takes a realistic look at the Green Arrow character, as well as other characters from the DC Comics universe. Although Oliver Queen/Green Arrow had been featured in the television series Smallville from 2006 to 2011, the producers decided to start clean and find a new actor (Amell) to portray the character. Arrow focuses on the humanity of Oliver Queen, and how his time on a presumably deserted island affected him. The creative team chose to illustrate that in the series by crafting flashback scenes to the island for almost every episode. The series is primarily filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Arrow has received generally positive reviews from critics, and was the highest rated new series on the CW in past five years up to its release. The series averaged approximately 3.68 million viewers over the course of the first season, and has garnered multiple award nominations and three wins. To assist in promotion, a preview comic book was released before the television series began, while webisodes featuring a product tie-in with Bose were developed for the second season. The first season is available on DVD and Blu-ray in regions 1, 2 and 4 and a soundtrack of it also been released. The second season of Arrow premiered on October 9, 2013, and is available on DVD and Blu-ray in regions 1, 2 and 4 and two versions of a soundtrack of it also been released. On February 13, 2014, The CW renewed the series for a third season, which premiered on October 8, 2014. A spin-off series set in the same universe, titled The Flash, began airing on the CW on October 7, 2014. Emmy-Winner Michael Emerson Boards Arrow for S6 (Date: 22 July 2017) a. Emmy Award-winner Michael Emerson has joined the cast of Arrow for the series' sixth season, as revealed at a panel for the DC Comics-based series at Comic-Con International in San Diego. The Lost alum will board the series in a recurring capacity; he will play a member of a villainous cabal. Additionally, it was confirmed David Nykl (who plays Oliver Queen's friend/mentor/nemesis, Anatoly Knyazev) will return to the series. b. http://www.cbr.com/michael-emerson-cast-arrow-season-6/ 2. Arrow Showrunner Addresses Olicity In Season 6 (Date: 24 July 2017) a. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim said during an interview at Comic Con International with Comicbook, “I'm going to give a very unsatisfying answer to the Olicity fans, which is that we sort of set Oliver and Felicity on a certain trajectory starting with 520, and you saw a little bit of it in 523. We're continuing it. I will say that the events of the finale did throw a little bit of a wrench into their slow rekindling of their relationship.” b. http://comicbook.com/2017/07/24/arrow-olicity-season-6/ 3. Spoiler Room: Scoop on Game of Thrones, Arrow, Westworld, and more (Date: 20 July 2017) a. Do you have any scoop on the new villain (or villains) on Arrow next season? — Here's a little teaser: “As usual, every season we want to try to up the stakes and do something different,” EP Wendy Mericle tells me. “This will be something we've never seen before. The villain will be hopefully as dynamic and as interesting as the ones we've had in the past. These people, or this person, won't just be somebody that's a thorn in Oliver's side, but it'll effect the whole team personally and very directly.” Could Cayden James and Helix be the culprits she speaks of? “You never know,” Mericle says. “They are still in the wind. We don't like to leave those threads dangling.” b. http://ew.com/tv/2017/07/20/spoiler-room-game-thrones-arrow-westworld/ 4. One Fan-Favorite Arrow Character Will Receive Flashbacks In Season 6 (Date: 26 July 2017) a. Marc Guggenheim has revealed that a fan-favorite character will receive flashbacks for the very first time in Season 6. In an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, Guggenheim had this to say about Season 6, “You're gonna still see flashbacks. It won't be every episode and it won't be serialized. They'll be character specific and I'll give you one example... as you saw in the trailer Manu Bennett is back for the season premiere and he's also coming back for a special two-part episode in the first half of the season where we're really going to be focusing hard on his character, post everything he's experienced on the show and we intend to do a Slade Wilson flashback story.” b. http://www.cinemablend.com/television/1685200/one-fan-favorite-arrow-character-will-receive-flashbacks-in-season-6 5. ARROW Season 6 SDCC '17 Trailer Finds Oliver Queen In A Brand New Role (Date: 22 July 2017) a. The Arrow season 6 trailer reveals that Slade made it off Lian Yu before Prometheus' trap could blast him to smithereens. But what about Diggle, Felicity and the rest of Team Arrow? There's was no sign of any of the regulars Arrow fans have come to know and love over the course of five seasons. b. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/arrow/arrow-season-6-sdcc-17-trailer-finds-oliver-queen-in-a-brand-new-role-a152758 6. Arrow Showrunner Says Richard Dragon Will Be Grounded Crime Lord (Date: 25 July 2017) a. Richard Dragon, one of the last major Green Arrow villains yet to appear on Arrow, is coming in season six -- and he will be different from the series' other big bads, according to series executive producer Marc Guggenheim. "You know, what I really like about our interpretation of Richard is, he's very grounded," Guggenheim said. "He's not a flamboyant big bad, he doesn't wear a costume, he really is a crimelord sort of in the Tobias Church model. For Tobias we only really saw him for about five episodes, so we were excited about th prospect of doing a cool, gritty crime lord, but for a longer period of time. We've never really done that on the show before, so it's different." b. http://comicbook.com/2017/07/25/arrow-showrunner-says-richard-dragon-will-be-grounded-crime-lord/ GENERAL DC TV NEWS 1. Legends of Tomorrow: Sara's Season 3 Love Interest is a New Character (Date: 25 July 2017) a. Love is in the air for Waverider captain Sara Lance. When the character returns in Legends of Tomorrow Season 3, she will find herself embroiled in a new romance. On Twitter, executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that this romance will be with a new character. Guggenheim and fellow executive producer Phil Klemmer revealed that Sara will get a new love interest at Comic-Con International's Legends of Tomorrow panel. “It's definitely time for Sara to settle down, or at least have a relationship that's more than a roll in the hay. It's hard when you're travelling through time,” Klemmer announced. “It's definitely been a priority of ours to re-establish Sara's bisexuality in Season 3,” Guggenheim added. “It's a big, important thing for us this year.” b. http://www.cbr.com/legends-of-tomorrow-sara-love-interest-new-character/ 2. The Flash: Tom Felton not returning as series regular (Date 25 July 2017) a. At the close of season 3, Julian was still a member of Team Flash, but with Barry now trapped in the Speed Force, and the show jumping ahead at least six months, it appears that Julian has left the team. The character was missing from the new season 4 footage in the recently released trailer, which was shown at Comic-Con, an event the Harry Potter alum also didn't attend. As of yet, Felton has not booked a return to the show, but as with all actors in the Berlanti-verse, there's a chance we could see Felton again if it makes sense for the story and his scheduling permits it. b. http://ew.com/tv/2017/07/25/flash-tom-felton-not-returning-season-4/?utm_campaign=entertainmentweekly&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&xid=entertainment-weekly_socialflow_twitter 3. THE FLASH Season 4 Casts The Thinker; Danny Trejo And More Join As Key DC Comics Characters (Date 23 July 2017) a. Neil Sandilands (The 100) is set to take on the role of Clifford Devoe/The Thinker, a metahuman with a mega mind who embarks on a season-long battle with The Flash that pits the "fastest man alive" against the "fastest mind alive." Danny Trejo (Machete) is Breacher, a feared bounty hunter from Earth-19 and the imposing father of inter-dimensional bounty hunter Gypsy. His mission is to prevent any inter-dimensional traveller from threatening life on his planet — especially his daughter's. Kim Engelbrecht (Dominion) is The Mechanic, a highly intelligent engineer who designs devices for Devoe. As Devoe's right hand, she's the truest of true believers who'll stop at nothing to help him implement his plan to fix humanity. b. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/the_flash/the-flash-season-4-casts-the-thinker-danny-trejo-and-more-join-as-key-dc-comics-characters-a152752 4. The Flash Gets a New Suit in Season 4 Set Photo (Date 29 July 2017) a. Set photos captured by YVRShoots.com show Gustin on set during July 28th, wearing what appears to be a new Flash suit. This comes after Gustin shared a photo of part of the suit on Instagram, and spoke about his desire for a new costume during an interview with ComicBook.com at San Diego Comic-Con. Interestingly, the suit is appears to be almost identical to the suit worn by the 2024 version of Barry Allen, which was briefly seen in last season's 'The Once and Future Flash'. b. http://comicbook.com/2017/07/29/the-flash-season-4-new-suit-barry-allen-grant-gustin/ 5. SUPERGIRL Season 3 Trailer Released; Calista Flockhart Set To Recur & Four New Cast Additions Announced (Date 22 July 2017) a. The CW has confirmed that Calista Flockhart will return for Supergirl season three and it sounds like she'll be popping in a lot more frequently this time around as she's secured recurring status. She'll first appear in the season premiere on October 9. Additionally, Adrian Pasdar, Carl Lumbly, Yael Grobglas, and Emma Tremblay have all joined the cast. Pasdar will play Morgan Edge, a ruthless real estate developer who will find himself at odds with Lena Luthor. Lumbly will play J'onn's father M'yrnn J'onzz, a pacifist religious leader on Mars. Grobglas will play Psi, a psychic villain who uses people's minds against them. Tremblay will play Ruby, a smart kid who's fascination with Supergirl lands her in serious trouble. The official season three trailer gives us our first look at Odette Annable as Reign and Erica Durance as Alura Zor-El. b. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/supergirl/supergirl-season-3-trailer-released-calista-flockhart-set-to-recur-four-new-cast-additions-announced-a152739 6. LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Season 3 Trailer Released; Both Captain Cold & Damien Darhk Will Return (Date 22 July 2017) a. The CW announced today that both Wentworth Miller and Neal McDonough will reprise their roles as Captain Cold and Damien Darhk, respectively, on the upcoming third season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Miller will actually return in a recurring capacity, but he won't exactly be the Leonard Snart we came to know and love in seasons one and two. He'll instead be playing a brand new version of fan-favorite character, which should lead to some interesting interactions between him and Mick. During the panel, executive producer Phil Klemmer teased, “Mick Rory needs his pal, but unfortunately he's not going to get the version of his pal that he remembers.” Meanwhile, McDonough will be upped to a series regular and will also come with his own, more dangerous, changes. "We'll be meeting a new version of Damien Darhk, a little less silly, a little more formidable." Arthur Darvill will also be back as Rip Hunter, but in a recurring role, and it sounds like he'll be coming into conflict with his former teammates. “Last season, the Legends were the only game in town,” Klemmer said. “Now they're competing with the best and brightest. Rip Hunter has reconstituted what the Time Masters were, so the existential question for the Legends is where do we fit into this universe?” As for new additions, a new villain will arise in the form of Kuasa, Vixen's granddaughter. Tala Ashe will also join the Waverider crew as Zari Adrianna Tomaz, a Muslim-American woman from 2030. b. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/legends_of_tomorrow/legends-of-tomorrow-season-3-trailer-released-both-captain-cold-damien-darhk-will-return-a152743 7. Spoiler Room: Scoop on Supergirl, Once Upon a Time, Defenders, and more (Date 27 July 2017) a. Is there any chance Alura is actually still alive on Supergirl? — With Erica Durance joining the show in a recast of Alura, EW pressed new showrunners Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner for answers at Comic-Con. “Shrouded in mystery, those questions,” Queller said coyly. Rovner added: “We wanted to keep Alura's presence on the show because it really connects Kara to Krypton and her roots and what it meant to see her family and her planet destroyed. It's an emotional grounding that's always important.” However, there's a good chance Mon-El ended up in the Phantom Zone — you know, the same Kryptonian prison that Alura had a hand in sending criminals to, so what if she escaped the destruction of Krypton and ended up there herself? Another dodge from the EPs: “Where Mon-El is and how he comes back is the central mystery of our season,” Queller said. “But the theme of this season is what does it mean to be human? Kara is going to be especially grappling with that, and all of the characters are. The loss of her family and Krypton impacts that a lot. The mother-daughter relationship is something we still want to explore in whatever fashion.” b. http://ew.com/tv/2017/07/27/spoiler-room-supergirl-once-upon-time-defenders/ 8. THE FLASH Star Grant Gustin Says It's The Show's Goal To Adapt CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS (Date 25 July 2017) a. Speaking to ComicBook at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, Grant Gustin confirmed that while it's still a long time from happening, it's been the goal to eventually adapt Crisis on Infinite Earths on the show . "We don't really talk about it on a yearly basis but it was mentioned early on and that's a goal. Obviously we'd have to go I think ten years to reach that, so there's a possibility for sure. It'll be fun to get there." The massive multiverse event saw the collapse of multiple parallel universes, along with the "death" of The Flash himself. The story has been hinted at since the pilot episode of the show, where the Reverse Flash views a newspaper headline from the future stating that The Flash has "vanished in a crisis". Showrunner Todd Helbing also spoke to CB about the upcoming season 4, which he promised will be "fun" again after the "doom and gloom" of season 3. "Last year, once we showed Iris die in the future, to keep up that doom and gloom, it becomes a burden, and not just on us writing-wise, on the show and it just sort of had this pall over the season that I think we didn't expect to be so heavy;” there is “a conscious effort of ours to really go back to everybody enjoyed being on this team and with each other, and make The Flash have fun again.” b. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/the_flash/the-flash-star-grant-gustin-says-its-the-shows-goal-to-adapt-crisis-on-infinite-earths-a152832 9. THE FLASH Is Reborn In The Official Comic-Con Trailer For The Upcoming Fourth Season (Date 22 July 2017) a. For the first time since the series' inception, a new character is taking on the voiceover and she doesn't sound quite like her usual hopeful self as the months without Barry have taken a serious toll on her. The new trailer also teases new villains, including a very interesting looking Samurai and a few returning faces. b. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/the_flash/the-flash-is-reborn-in-the-official-comic-con-trailer-for-the-upcoming-fourth-season-a152748 10. The Flash's Grant Gustin Says Speed Force Will Change Barry (Date 25 July 2017) a. “We're not necessarily going to see Barry's experience in the Speed Force. We'll see kind of the effects that the Speed Force has had on Barry, and he's been in there six months real-time,” Gustin started. “I suspect the Speed Force is kind of nonlinear with time, so Barry has experienced his entire life from star to end infinity times over since he's been in there. It's almost like a fresh start for me as an actor.” b. http://comicbook.com/2017/07/25/the-flash-speed-force-grant-gustin/ 11. Legends of Tomorrow Announces Tracy Ifeachor as S3 Villain (Date 26 July 2017) a. DC's Legends of Tomorrow will get mighty personal for Vixen in Season 3. During the show's panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Kuasa — the sister of Mari McCabe's Vixen — was announced as a villain for the upcoming season. Now, we can put a face to the name. Quantico star Tracy Ifeachor will play the character. Since Kuasa is Mari's sister, that also makes her the granddaughter of Amaya, who is slated to be a main character in Legends Season 3. At SDCC, executive producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed that the two will cross paths at some point this season, saying, “We're looking forward to the inevitable confrontation between Maisie [Richardson-Sellers]'s character and her granddaughter.” b. http://www.cbr.com/legends-of-tomorrow-kuasa-tracy-ifeachor/ 12. The Flash Season 4 Set Photos Show New Female Villain (Date 29 July 2017) a. YVRShoots.com recently shared pictures of The Flash's newest foe, who will reportedly appear the third episode of the season, entitled 'Luck Me a Lady.' In one set of photos, an actress is robbing a bank in a red dress, while other photos show the same actress running after a bus in a rather noteworthy casino outfit. Fans were quick to recognize the casino dealer outfit as that belonging to the DC Comics villain Becky Sharpe, a.k.a. Hazard. Hazard has appeared throughout the DC Comics mythos as a member of the Injustice Society, and was the granddaughter of the original Gambler. The antagonist is bestowed with psionic powers, which allow her to cause good or bad "accidents" to her foes. b. http://comicbook.com/2017/07/29/the-flash-set-photos-show-new-female-villain/ ARROW CAST AND CREW INTERVIEWS 1. During a Comic Con Interview with Arrow's leading lady Emily Bett Rickards, we were joined by series regular Echo Kellum, who brought out Rickards's playful side. Rather than trying to finish our interview with Rickards and pull one or both of them back on track, we went with the more entertaining option of egging them on, asking among other things: "Can you tell me more about 'sexy threats?'" b. http://comicbook.com/2017/07/28/arrows-emily-bett-rickards-and-echo-kellum-explain-sexy-threats/ NEXT EPISODE Link to Promo: (Date: 08 March 2017) https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/legends_of_tomorrow/legends-of-tomorrow-new-extended-promo-for-season-2-episode-14-moonshot-a149472 Episode: “Moonshot” [Season 2 Episode 14] Air Date: Tuesday, March 14, 2017 Summary: The Legends learn where the last fragment of the Spear of Destiny is hidden when they track Commander Steel to NASA Headquarters in 1970. Going to be great.” He added, “And by my scenes I mean our scenes. By definition. Super cool episode.” Amell was referring to Season 5, Episode 20, which is titled “Underneath,” airs during May sweeps and will revisit, in depth, Felicity's termination of their wedding engagement after learning that Oliver 1) had a son, 2) didn't tell her, and 3) then didn't include his bride-to-be in the decision to send young William and his mother away, to safety. Arrow's Stephen Amell will trade in his salmon ladder for the floating steps and compete against Dancing with the Stars' Derek Hough, Parenthood's Erika Christensen, Today's Natalie Morales, comedian Nikki Glaser, actress Mena Suvari, former Yankees player Nick Swisher, comedian Jeff Dye and Olympic decathlon and heptathon champion Ashton Eaton. The special episode will kick off the night on Thursday, May 25 at 8/7c on NBC. Oliver (Stephen Amell), Team Arrow, ARGUS and the SCPD kick off a citywide manhunt for Adrian Chase (Josh Segurra).  Helix tells Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) they have a way to find Chase but they will need something big, and illegal, from her in return.  Joel Novoa directed the episode written by Speed Weed & Elizabeth Kim. Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/04/06/arrow-dangerous-liaisons-synopsis-released/    GENERAL DC TV NEWS Legends of Tomorrow EP Klemmer Compares Season 3 To Game of Thrones (Date: 03 April 2017) Executive producer Phil Klemmer suggested that fans should get used to losses and that they're committed to going the full Game of Thrones in season 3 so that fans never have the comfort of assuming that anyone is safe. “It's always been a rule since the Hawkman death [in the pilot], Greg [Berlanti] said it before the show was even a show about how his mission was to make this not like network TV, that no one would be bulletproof, that it was more like the Ned Stark idea of anybody could lose their head at any time. As we've been roughly breaking out next season, we're more committed to that than ever. Again, that's a really bittersweet thing because we think the dynamic of the characters have is so special and wonderful, and at the same time, you don't want the audience to become too comfortable on the show. It is supposed to be a wild ride. You need that real consequences and real bloodshed to counterbalance the fluffiness and the silliness of the show. Otherwise it would just float off into space.” Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/04/03/legends-of-tomorrow-showrunner-compares-season-3-to-game-of-thro/      How The Supergirl Effects Team Brought Parasite To Life (Date: 04 April 2017) The CW has released this video showing the visual effects for the Parasite episode of Supergirl from earlier this season. The episode was called Changing, the sixth of the season, and featured scientist Rudy Jones becoming the classic DC villain. It also showed us both Mon-El and Guardian in action after Supergirl and J'onn J'onzz were drained by Parasite. There's no dialogue in the video, but you can see from the different effects shots how many different layers are needed for some of what look like simple scenes and how much of the shots are practical compared to computer generated. As the CW drama's sophomore run came to a close this week, Rip Hunter (played by original cast member Arthur Darvill) quietly packed a bag and bid the Waverider and its new captain, Sara, adieu. That, however, does not mean viewers have seen the last of the Brit. “We've got plans for Rip for next year,” Legends showrunner Marc Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly Radio on Thursday. “It's just in a different capacity than him being a member of the team.” As for another burning Q — whether sister series such as Arrow and The Flash will reflect the weird reality on hand when the Legends crash-landed in 2017 Los Angeles — Guggenheim in a word said no. “We never want television to feel like a homework assignment,” where viewers of one #DCTV show must track all of them. “That said… there will be an explanation in Season 3 as to why you're not seeing dinosaurs run through Central City.” Link:https://tvline.com/2017/04/06/legends-of-tomorrow-season-3-rip-hunter-returns/      The Once And Future Flash Synopsis Released Online (Date: 06 April 2017) Barry (Grant Gustin) travels to the future to find out Savitar's still unknown identity in the hopes of saving Iris (Candice Patton).  Upon his arrival in 2024, Barry encounters future versions of his Team Flash friends, who, following the death of Iris, have become very different people, profoundly impacted by their showdown with Savitar.  It will be up to Barry to infuse a sense of hope back into the team, as he proves to be hero his future friends have been waiting for. Meanwhile, back in 2017, the hunt for Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) continues.  Tom Cavanagh directed the episode written by Carina Adly MacKenzie. Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/04/06/the-once-and-future-flash-synopsis-released-online/    iZombie's Rahul Kohli Comes to Supergirl in "Ace Reporter" Synopsis (Date: 06 April 2017) Lena's (guest star Katie McGarth) ex-boyfriend, Jack Spheer (guest star Rahul Kohli), comes to National City to unveil his big breakthrough in nano-technology, which has the potential to eradicate all diseases. Lena asks Kara to attend Jack's conference with her for support. When Kara sees Snapper (guest Star Ian Gomez) in attendance she's inspired to tap back into her reporter skills and questions Jack on his discovery, which ultimately leads to a bigger investigation that puts everyone in danger. Armen V. Kevorkian directed the episode written by Paula Yoo & Caitlin Parrish. In comic books, Abra Kadabra is a time-traveling villain and sometimes Rogue who uses his future technology to simulate magic powers in pursuit of criminal gain. As for Dastmalchian, the actor is a comic book TV and movie veteran, having appeared on Gotham, and in the films Ant-Man and The Dark Knight. Smith said that midway through the episode “Supergirl Lives”, producers started feeling out his schedule. Ultimately, they offered him episode 17, which he described as "sweet," saying that it was nice that producers liked the job he was doing enough to bring him back within the season. I think the reason they broke up was her difficulty to see things from Oliver's perspective. They broke up fundamentally because she didn't trust Oliver, and the reason she didn't trust Oliver is she couldn't understand why he made the decisions he made.” Link:http://ew.com/tv/2017/03/17/spoiler-room-once-upon-time-arrow-riverdale/   Did Arrow's Stephen Amell Tease The Return Of Deathstroke & The Island? (Date: 20 March 2017) Stephen Amell took to social media to hint the return of the Island. The actor posted a familiar photo with the caption, “Hello old friend.” The picture itself shows Slade Wilson's Deathstroke mask placed upon a stake. The monument is one that was left on the island, and an arrow is shown sticking through the mask's left eye slit. Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/03/18/the-bruce-springsteen-songs-of-arrow/   Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on Grey's, Bones, Arrow, Grimm, Once, Bates Motel, Hawaii Five-0, Walking Dead and More (Date: 22 March 2017) Question: Have any scoop on Arrow‘s Olicity to tease? — Though Oliver has bigger fish to fry for the foreseeable future, Stephen Amell had this to say about Oliver's take on Felicity's recent secret-keeping: “Look, he does trust her, but that doesn't mean he has to agree with her.” That distinction will be put to the test in Episode 19, which is officially titled “Dangerous Liaisons” but “you could almost call it ‘Team Arrow vs. Team Felicity,'” Amell shared. Felicity and her Helix hackers and Oliver's associates “are both after the same objective, but after it in different ways. And that pushes us into a real exploration of why Oliver and Felicity have been behaving the way that they've been behaving this year.” Link:http://tvline.com/2017/03/22/bones-series-finale-447-mystery-spoilers-season-12/ GENERAL DC TV NEWS DC's Legends of Tomorrow Heads to "Aruba" For Season Finale Synopsis (Date: 17 March 2017) The episode airs on April 4th, 2017. Katie McGrath, who has recurred on Supergirl this season, has been made a regular for the upcoming Season 3, which was recently picked up by the CW. On his Twitter, executive producer Marc Guggenheim unveiled the establishing shot for “Doomworld,” the penultimate episode of Season 2. The photo shows a structure not unlike STAR Labs; however, the building has a rounder shape with concave windows, making it look almost like a helmet… much like the Hall of Doom from “Super Friends.” Link:http://www.cbr.com/legends-of-tomorrow-legion-of-doom-headquarters/   THE FLASH: New Stills From Season 3 Episode 18: "Abra Kadabra;" Plus SUPERGIRL "Duet" Soundtrack Released (Date: 22 March 2017) After last night's musical spectacular, WatchTower Music, in collaboration with DC Entertainment, has released an official soundtrack album featuring music from the awesome two-part crossover between The CW's two highest-rated programs: The Flash & Supergirl. Not many Prometheus and Ollie - round one Prometheus has skills; does cool special flip (Ollie recognizes it; he learned it from a woman in Russia) Wild Dog shoots weapon out of Prometheus's hand, but Artemis shoots his guns Prometheus disappears with Artemis Prometheus and Ollie - round two Action is cut with flashback from 4 years ago Prometheus has dead bodies posed just like how Ollie killed them Its super creepy and really helps to amp up the tension Fight up escalator (flashback) Prometheus able to escape; makes Billy Malone look and sound like him Similar to the Joker's hostages in The Dark Knight Flashbacks: Share your thoughts 4 years ago - Ollie as The Hood Killing people; The List Diggle knows Ollie is The Hood Ollie after Justin Claybourne, who manufactured weaponized TB in order to sell medicine for it Diggle warns Ollie that his actions could have unintended consequences Red pen! Felicity is awkward and cute when she helps Ollie find address (1852) Ollie:   Has he learned after all this time? Brings team to first fight w/Prometheus Goes alone when find Prometheus again - why? Being confronted with past makes him act like that again - he kills Prometheus instead of putting an arrow in his knee Does he have to kill Prometheus? Confesses to team the truth First instinct is to push everyone away The expression on his face when he sees HER in the Arrowcave Diggle Active in flashback Leads group hug at end when Ollie wants to push everyone away Is called by Lyla to safe house Is taken in by soldiers Thea Feels as though the Dominators dream renewed her purpose Tells Ollie that we leave good and bad legacies Suits up as Speedy! Is this a onetime thing after the reveal of Artemis' betrayal? Felicity Awkwardly introduces Billy to friends; suggest double date w/Ollie Tells Billy not to investigate Prometheus; Billy does anyway because that's his job Billy sends her photo of baby - is looping her in on what he finds Blames Prometheus for Billy's death Quentin Lance Not in episode Curtis Has lied to husband Paul - doing a start up with Felicity Tells hubby the truth - Paul gives ultimatum Realizes being Mr. Terrific gives him purpose Paul leaves b/c can't see him go off every night and risk life Wild Dog “I don't like rules or listening” Does the opposite Ollie instructs (maybe Ollie pulls an “opposite day” move) Is he a father? Artemis Gives Rene, Rory, and Diggle stockings with their code names Says guys are her only family Betrays Oliver because city needs protecting from him Ragman Makes Flashpoint joke Figures out how to sequence DNA D.A. Adrian Chase Really wants Prometheus dealt with Puts kill order on Prometheus Susan Williams Ollie's date to the Christmas party Drinks Russian vodka Russian writing on the bottle is centered on screen, is this a hint? Tells Ollie shutting people out is not a good thing to do Has sexytimes with Ollie Laurel Is this due to Barry and Flashpoint? Or maybe due to Legends of Tomorrow where Sara revealed Damian's future so now he is travelling time to avert it. Bratva Not in episode Prometheus Leads? - A whole bunch At least 30 years old Justin Claybourne's son - ???? Seems too easy if this is the case Son not publicly known - mentioned in divorce papers Has studied Oliver for four years How does he(?) know that Ollie killed his father and studied fighting in Russia? When did he(?) find out all of this about Ollie? Is it Claybourne's son? Could it be someone else who just knows about what Ollie has done when he was The Hood and was working off of The List? Tied to The List He sounds like Michael Dorn to Chris (reddit seems to agree) Michelle's List O'Suspects: (I'm keeping this active until the mask comes off) Tommy Merlyn - Not likely now. In Ollie's Dementor vision as someone proud of Ollie New: Susan Williams - if the Claybourne son thing is a red herring; then it could be her; she is old enough, drinks Russian vodka, and has finally confirmed Ollie was in Russia. Maybe her real name isn't SW Robert Queen - too old? But is the author of The List. In Ollie's Dementor vision as someone proud of Ollie. New: It's actually Claybourne's son Adrian Chase (but more likely to become Vigilante) Billy Malone - dead Helena Bertinelli (but I would rather see her as either Huntress or head of the Bertinelli family) Isabel Rochev Mckenna Hall Shado - not Claybourne's child and not really connected to The List Slade Wilson - not tied to The List Talia al Ghul (see this week's news) New: Quentin Lance (likely a red herring) (in rehab) Roy - too young and in Ollie's Dementor vision as someone proud of Ollie; also, not really tied to The List Viktor (SP's add) - too old   CURRENT EPISODE DC EASTER EGGS & POP CULTURE REFERENCES Season Episode  “What We Leave Behind” (Date: 08 Dec 2016) Article: http://comicbook.com/2016/12/08/arrow-easter-eggs-and-things-you-might-have-missed-in-the-season/      JUDAS CONTRACT - A young, female team member who is recruited into Team Arrow and then seduced to the dark side and ends up becoming a sleeper agent for the villain is pretty much exactly the plot to the classic New Teen Titans storyline The Judas Contract. OLIVER'S CHRISTMAS MOVIES - According to Stephen Amell's recent Facebook Live video, he shares Oliver's favorite Christmas movie (Die Hard) and the "Its true!" he delivered after saying so in the episode was actually a Stephen Amell-ism, not Oliver Queen's. His second choice, It's a Wonderful Life, is an interesting one considering..."I was very lucky to be able to rewatch that movie last week."...which of course is not a thing that happened. He was  subjected to a kind of custom-made It's a Wonderful Life, where the Dominators showed him a whole different timeline and how his life and the lives of those around him might be different if he had made different decisions. BIG BELLY BURGER - The mention is because the to-go bag for the DC Universe's favorite burger joint was the focus of a shot that hung on for a few seconds AND transitioned from the present day to the flashbacks. That's a lot of camera time for a fast food container. CLAYBOURNE - While Justin Claybourne's name did in fact appear on The List, we never saw him dealt with in season 1 and all of the scenes here that were calling back to the first year of the series were entirely new material. This, of course, opens up the question of whether we might see some more such stories in flashbacks for future episodes...! ALMOST EVERY WEDNESDAY - "People who are supposed to be dead turn out to be alive almost every Wednesday." Weirdly enough never during the summer or between mid-December and late January, though. THE HOOD - Oliver's season 1 costume, the kill list, the sets, the mission, his arguments with Diggle...this is what it was like when he was The Hood and not Green Arrow. THE RED PEN - The red pen is a nice callback to some of Felicity Smoak's earliest appearances, and that makes it worth breaking out to talk separately about "IT Girl Felicity," back when Oliver was still making up outlandish stories to get her help instead of just coming clean with her. AK DESMOND PHARMACEUTICAL - It seems worth noting, since Dr. Alchemy is such a big part of The Flash this season, that A.K. Desmond Pharmaceutical could plausibly be considered a wink-and-a-nod reference to Albert Desmond, a chemist who would go on to become Dr. Alchemy in the comics. Unlikely, but possible! MAKE THE CITY GREAT AGAIN - Obviously in his final moments, when Claybourne is trying to appeal to Oliver's ideas about "saving the city," he says that businesses like his can "make the city great again," which in the context of the last years' worth of public life feels suspiciously like a reference to Donald Trump's "make America great again" campaign slogan. ARROW NEWS:   ARROW FANS HAVE ALREADY SEEN SEASON 5'S FINAL SCENE — OR HAVE THEY? (Date: 05 Dec 2016) Now that “Arrow” has reached season five and has no plans of slowing down, the plan has changed slightly. As Guggenheim said, “Spoiler alert. That's (Ollie's rescue from Lian Yu) going to end up being the Season 5 finale.” Season five's flashback story arc will still end by replaying the first moments of the series, but there's now much more show to come after that moment in season six and beyond. But just because fans saw how season five will end five years ago doesn't mean there aren't surprises still ahead at the end of this season. Guggenheim added that the creators have “some incredibly clear plans for what we want to do in the Season 5 finale,” but that they always leave wiggle room for surprises and cliffhangers. "For me, I like the idea of Felicity not defining herself through her relationship with a man," Ramsey told the crowd. "I like the idea that she can be her own person, and she can be strong and feminine, own the company, without pining over men — Oliver or any other man." Amell said that tonight's script was the first in a long time that legitimately shocked him when he turned the page to that reveal. He also said that he was skeptical at first of the idea of bringing another character back from the dead, but that they're now several episodes down the line in production and that he thinks the story that comes out of it is a good one. For the week of November 28, the CW was up 20% in total viewers versus the same week last year, up 15% in adults 18-49 (0.7 vs. 0.6) and up 16% in adults 18-34 (0.6 vs. 0.5), according to Nielsen stats. Supergirl had its most-watched (3.5M) episode of the season, and matched its season premiere ratings in both adults 18-34 (0.9/4) and adults 18-49 (1.1/4). The Flash saw its most-watched episode (4.15M) in almost two years (12/9/14) and its highest rated episode of the season. Arrow delivered the series' most watched (3.55M) and highest-rated episode since last season's crossover episode (12/2/15). And DC's Legends of Tomorrow had its most-watched episode ever (3.39M) and its highest-rated episode ever in adults 18-34 (1.0/5). More fun-loving prankster than straightforward villain, Mxyzptlk's fifth-dimensional technology appears as magic to three-dimensional beings; the limits of his powers are vast and unknown. Famously, he can only be stopped and returned to his home dimension by tricking him into saying his name backward (“Kltpzyxm”).   Link:http://www.cbr.com/mister-mxyzptlk-to-materialize-on-supergirl/    How “Supergirl” And A Super-Duper Gay Comic Book Clerk Helped Save A Girl's Life (Date: 04 Dec 2016) Mary, a “super-duper gay” employee at a comic book shop in Indiana, shared an encounter she had with a young woman. The girl said she was suicidal because she's gay, and she didn't realize gay women could be happy until she saw the Alex Danvers coming out arc on Supergirl. To help the girl out through the hiatus, the employees suggested  Batwoman: Elegy, Midnighter, and Gotham Central. The girl didn't have money for all of the titles, so the employee bought them for her. Link:http://www.newnownext.com/supergirl-lesbian-sanvers/12/2016/   Mark Hamill and John Wesley Shipp On the Biggest Surprises Reprising Their Roles on The Flash (Date: 06 Dec 2016) Interesting fact: Shipp starred in The Flash in 1990 and 1991, with Hamill as a recurring villain. While Hamill was filming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a new TV version of The Flash was coming together. Three years later, against all odds, he and the producers have found a way for Hamill to make an appearance as James Jesse in each midseason finale so far. Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/12/07/mark-hamill-and-john-wesley-shipp-on-the-biggest-surprises-repri/   Supergirl Showrunners wanted to play with Shippers (Date: 3 Dec 2016) Producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed after a screening (h/t EW) that multiple moments with Kara were ultimately cut from the three episodes, including Sara asking out the Girl of Steel (and perhaps foreshadowing a future with Alex): There was a little exchange between Sara [Caity Lotz] and Kara [Melissa Benoist] that I really liked — I don't think we even filmed it — where Sara says, ‘Hey, do you want to get a drink when this is all over?' And Kara says, ‘I think you wanna meet my sister.' Just the idea of starting the Sara/Alex [Chyler Leigh] shippers going … Link:http://comicsalliance.com/supergirl-legends-crossover-deleted-scenes/ Fallout from the Superhero Crossover (Date: 3 Dec 2016) WILL SUPERGIRL VISIT EARTH-1 AGAIN? | Now that Kara has a way to communicate and travel across Earths, crossovers are certainly “easier” to execute, Kreisberg says. “The next time we do it, it means it doesn't necessarily have to be because Oliver and Barry need Kara; it could be because Kara needs them.” However, the EP notes that nothing is in the works, seeing as how “we just barely survived this one. So we're not too concerned with what we're going to try to do next year. But it just gives us another way to come at a story.” DOES THE WORLD KNOW ETs EXIST? | A line was cut for time, in which the G-man known as “Glasses” says, “‘Cover up what? A dozen weather satellites falling out of orbit?'” Guggenheim explains: “People see the ships, but no one ever really saw the Dominators. The way we're sort of playing it going forward is that Glasses is good at his job, and when he says he's going to cover it up, he's going to cover it up.” Adds Kreisberg: “There's a mention of it in The Flash, that the threat of aliens brought out all the crazies. But we're sort of Doctor Who-ing it.” Link:http://tvline.com/2016/12/01/legends-of-tomorrow-recap-season-2-episode-7-crossover-dominators-return/ GREEN ARROW COMICS & TOY NEWS X-MEN: GOLD AND BLUE ROSTERS AND CREATIVE TEAMS REVEALED (Date: 28 Nov 2016) X-Men: Gold will be written by Marc Guggenheim with art by Ardian Syaf. The phase-shifting Kitty Pryde at long-last will become an X-Men team leader, whose squad includes Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Old Man Logan, and Rachel Grey. “Kitty is the right person to bring the X-Men into the future, to herald in the next era of the X-Men,” Guggenheim told us in a phone interview. “We are post the war with the Inhumans. The X-Men are sort of at a crossroads. They're at a point where they are trying to decide, is there a future for the X-Men? And Kitty is very much of the mindset that there is a future for the X-Men and it's a bright future.”  Guggenheim is best known as co-showrunner and writer on The CW's Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow and previously worked on the adjectiveless X-Men book in 2014 featuring an all-female cast of characters. We're going to have really badass monsters.  We're going back to the crime and the city. Cavill's suit is more "alien skin". Hoechlin's suit is more of a suit * Hoechlin's costume opts for the red "utility belt" design, pulled from the New 52 Comic book reboot of Superman (more on that later). Cavill's costume famously skipped over having a pronounced belt or red underwear * The logos on the costume are very different: Cavill's Kryptonian "hope" insignia was made with the same "alien" aesthetic as the rest of his costume, while Hoechlin's insignia is much more of the classic Dan Jurgens design. * The cape clasps are very different: Cavill's, again, runs seamlessly into his shoulders, like a hair extension, while Hoechlin clearly has clasps to hold his cape in place. Cavill's cape is a CGI creation; Hoechlin's is clearly leather (or some sort of similar material). This week the gang is getting into some heavy discussion about the SEASON finales of Arrow and The Flash.  What happens with Team Arrow now that only Oliver and Felicity remain, where do our characters go from here? How far do Barry's actions reach across the DCTV universe? Will we be exploring a whole new "Flashpoint" world? We speculate on these things as well as the very interesting decision making of all members of Team Flash.  We also talk some Game of Thrones and how emotional the last episode was.  The the crew says goodbye, for now, to PacingPete as this is his last episode and things get a little weepy with Matt. IMDB Link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4862544/?ref_=tt_ep_nx Promo:  http://comicbook.com/2016/02/25/arrow-broken-hearts-extended-trailer-released/   In a decidedly set-up-for-the-rest-of-the-season Arrow episode lacking of fight choreography and filled with Oliver and Felicity's breakup residue (just how is Oliver dealing with getting dumped?), the Starling Tribune Reporters run down the episode with a little insight that ties in the broader season stories and plots. While Cupid was the best part of the episode her was potentially underused. Cupid's rage was somewhat mis-directed and should have been focused on the happily married head of A.R.G.U.S. Lyla Diggle and the organization she leads. The episode's fight choreography was a bit lacking but the episode still saw it's share of action with motorcycle and car stunts. Perhaps the more important story over Cupid was what was happening with Damian Darkh. Damian didn't say a word all episode and was still intimidating and the Reporters are swayed toward's Damian's wedding ring being magic. Speaking of magic, was the totem found in the Flashbacks on Lian Yu Damian's totem? The Reporters spend some time on Oliver and Felicity's break-up and touch on if Felicity made the right call or not as well as explore if “Olicity” actually got in the way of the show moving forward, especially since Felicity essentially walked away from Team Arrow at the end of the episode. Does the break-up set the stage for Oliver and Laurel in the future? Laurel was definitely showing her legal prowess in the courtroom but should she have been recused for conflict of interest?  The Reporters talk about Lance's decision to testify and wonder if this finally cements who's in the grave. With two episodes to go until Arrow unveils the answer to the mystery the Reporters run down the limited number of options on the table at this point. The reporters wrap up the episode with a list of Easter Eggs, Arrow News, Feedback and comments from the chat. MARC GUGGENHEIM podcast excerpt: "The simultaneous shooting schedule of the Arrow/The Flash/DC's Legends of Tomorrow crossover and two-hour pilot has been a much bigger headache than dealing with the actors' agents and managers. The scheduling is really, really hard. It was all filmed at the same time. It requires a tremendous amount of creativity on the part of the producers and the assistant directors on the various shows who handle scheduling. Not easy! And not easy on the actors who sometimes have to run from one set to the other. We're all now recovering from the scheduling mishegas. That said, we do it because the end result is so worthwhile. And the end result is awesome. As I said to the 'Arrow' crew yesterday, a quadruple axle is far more impressive than a double axel. People are going to watch these four hours of television and I think it's going to blow their minds!"Key interview moments:• 6:45 "Arrow" and "DC Legends of Tomorrow" showrunner Marc Guggenheim explains why he makes time to create and write comic books, fiction, and even two upcoming film scripts;• 33:20 Spoiler Alert: Sara Lance lives, has a final night of passion with girlfriend Nyssa al Ghul in Guggenheim's Arrow 2.5 comic book, dies in Season 3 and is reborn in Season 4;• 41:10 Guggenheim says the four-hour "Arrow"/"The Flash"/"DC Legends of Tomorrow" crossover was a nightmare to schedule and shoot but the result is "awesome."Subscribe to Mr. Media for FREE on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=MrMediaRadioFor more interviews like this one: http://www.MrMedia.com What is Mr. Media® Interviews? The dilemma over in Central City had no connection to Legends of Tomorrow, but it was so awesome that they simply couldn't resist discussing it!  "Lost Soul" is an important episode for The CW's upcoming spin-off series Legends of Tomorrow because it has plot progression with two key characters: Brandon Routh's Ray Palmer a.k.a. The Atom and Caity Lotz's Sara Lance a.k.a. Canary. There was also a lot of focus on Olicity, and a little bit of attention given to Willa Holland's Thea Queen a.k.a. Speedy/Red Arrow. A year ago, when he first appeared on Mr. Media, we spent most our time talking about his first novel, the out-of-control shadow government story of Overwatch. That, and a bit about his day job as writer and producer of The CW’s hit show “Arrow,” which had just spun off “The Flash.” Today, this guy has got superheroes coming out of his eyes, ears and, well, everywhere else. People are going to watch these four hours of television and I think it's going to blow their minds!" You can LISTEN to this interview with MARC GUGGENHEIM, showrunner of ARROW and DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW on The CW, by clicking the audio player above! Guggenheim is now the showrunner for “Arrow” –in its fourth season – and its upcoming spinoff, “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” which will bring together The Atom, Firestorm, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Captain Cold, Heatwave, Rip Hunter, White Canary, and more. MARC GUGGENHEIM podcast excerpt: "Spoiler Alert for people who haven't seen Season 3 of 'Arrow': Sara Lance (the original Canary) dies! And by the way, Spoiler Alert: In Season 4 she comes back to life! We love Caity Lotz and we love the character of Sara Lance. It was something  were always planning on doing." He’s also the guy that raised “Constantine” from last season’s ashes and made millions wonder what the NBC show could have been if it had come from his keyboard. But TV represents just a fraction of the characters in his sandbox. MARC GUGGENHEIM podcast excerpt: "I value my collaboration with Greg Berlanti. But it's also important for me to establish an identity as a writer separate and apart from him. I love comic books and I probably would have become a comic book writer first if that path had been offered to me." He has also found time to write a rack’s worth of new comics this year, include Arrow 2.5 for DC, The Infinite Adventures of Jonas Quantum for Legendary, Stringers for Oni Press, and The Rocketeer at War! for IDW. Earlier this year, he wrote a Squadron Sinister series for Marvel. And when he goes home, he can’t escape the superhero business: wife Tara Butters is co-showrunner of Marvel’s “Agent Carter” on ABC. Oh, and he is an indefatiguable sharer on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr.
