Fr. Mike explains the purpose behind the beauty and extravagance of the Temple Solomon built for the Lord. On the other hand, he also points out the issue with the image of power and strength Solomon is trying to portray by gathering so much wealth as King. Legendary comedian and radio host Rickey Smiley joins Adam in studio to talk about his new comedy special FOOLISH, dropping May 30th on Hulu. Rickey opens up about grief, faith, and the heartbreaking loss of his son Brandon in 2023. He shares how leaning on his spirituality has helped him—and others—through tragedy, and why therapy, faith, and hands-on work like being a pilot or a mechanic can keep comedians grounded. Adam opens up about his own envy of Rickey's faith, and the two connect over the importance of staying sane in a chaotic world. Rickey also shares stories from his Alabama upbringing, being raised by his grandparents, and why his mom working at Arby's left him with strong opinions about fast food.Jason “Mayhem” Miller jumps in for the news of the day, including a $30,000 cocktail, Joe Rogan's turn toward Christianity, the DNC's multi-million dollar plan to figure out how to talk to men, Russia's continued Olympic ban, and Adam's take on a controversially named pill.To close out the show, Kirk Cameron zooms in to talk about becoming a grandfather, the pitfalls of relying on Alexa to parent your kids, and his hope for a country led by competent adults. He also plugs his new kids' show Iggy & Mr. Kirk, now streaming on Brave+. "The Purpose of Marriage" is a divine mystery that reflects Christ's love for the church. In this episode, Duane Sheriff teaches the divine purpose of marriage and its connection to the gospel. There is a compelling parallel between traditional marriage and our spiritual union with Jesus. Marriage is not simply a contract or social institution. It is a divine institution that reflects Christ's love for the church. Today's culture and many churches often fail to grasp the true purpose of marriage. Understanding the connection between marriage and our relationship with Christ is essential to our spiritual growth.Click for FREE offer ➡️https://pastorduane.com/the-purpose-of-marriage/

In this episode of The Cordial Catholic, I'm joined by my two friends and former Evangelical seminarians (and, in Chris's case, a pastor) to discuss the importance of the Pope. Why is the Pope so important? In their trademark cordial and insightful style, Brandon and Chris help us to dig deeply into the biblical and historical roots of the papacy, the importance of the Pope as a tangible point of unity for Christianity, the reality of apostolic succession, and the witness of the Early Church – all in the service of understanding and explaining why the Pope is central to Christian unity and at the very heart of what Jesus intended His Church to look and operate like. It's a conversation of fundamental importance and we couldn't have planned a better 300th episode! It's Wednesday, May 28th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Somalian Muslim man trusts Christ and is kicked out of home A young Muslim man in Somalia was kicked out of his home recently after converting to Christianity. The 20-year-old struggled with substance abuse and had not been home to see his Muslim parents for months. That's when an underground pastor shared the Gospel with him. The young man came to Christ and gained freedom from drug use. After going home, however, his parents drove him away because of his new faith. The young convert told Morning Star News, “Now that I have loved [Jesus], I do not have a family standing with me. I do no not know what to do. I need prayers.” Please pray for this brother in Christ in Somalia, Africa. The country is ranked second on the Open Doors' World Watch List of most difficult places to be a Christian. In Matthew 19:29, Jesus said, “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.” French Muslim youth vandalizing Catholic churches and assaulting Catholics The European Conservative reports there have been a string of attacks on churches in France recently which have received little attention from the mainstream media. In one case, Islamic youths insulted a Catholic priest and threatened to set the church building on fire earlier this month. Days earlier, another group disrupted a parish meeting in the same area. Muslim attacks on Catholics have included vandalism, physical assault, and kidnapping. Supremes split decision result: OK religious charter school unfunded In the United States, the Supreme Court delivered a split decision last Thursday in a case involving religious education. Previously, Oklahoma's charter school board had approved funding for St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School. It would have been the country's first publicly-funded religious charter school. However, Oklahoma's Supreme Court blocked the school. And the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 4-4 in the case, leaving the lower court ruling in place. For some reason, conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett recused herself from the case. Defense Secretary Hegseth: "“King Jesus, we come humbly before You." U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth led a prayer meeting at the Pentagon last Wednesday. Listen to his opening prayer. HEGSETH: “If you would bow your head in prayer. “King Jesus, we come humbly before You, seeking Your face, seeking Your grace, in humble obedience to your law and to Your Word. We come as sinners, saved only by that grace, seeking Your providence in our lives and in our nation. “Lord God, we ask for the wisdom to see what is right, and in each and every day, in each and every circumstance, the courage to do what is right in obedience to Your will. “It is in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that we pray. And all God's people said, Amen. Thank you.” The voluntary 30-minute prayer meeting was called “Secretary of Defense Christian Prayer & Worship Service.” Hegseth said it may become a monthly event. Colossians 4:2 says, “Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.” Planned Parenthood to close 8 abortion mills in Iowa and Minnesota Last Friday, Planned Parenthood North Central States announced it will close eight locations across Iowa and Minnesota over the next year. Planned Parenthood blamed the closures on states passing anti-abortion laws as well as a freeze on federal funding for abortion. The closures will also involve laying off 66 staff members. CDC no longer recommends COVID-19 shot for pregnant women & kids The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will no longer recommend COVID-19 shots for pregnant women and healthy children. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made the announcement yesterday. KENNEDY: “Hi everybody. I'm Robert F. Kennedy, Jr, your HHS Secretary. And I'm here with NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya and FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty MaKary. “I couldn't be more pleased to announce that, as of today, the COVID vaccine for healthy children and healthy pregnant women has been removed from the CDC-recommended immunization schedule. Last year, the Biden administration urged healthy children to get yet another COVID shot, despite the lack of any clinical data to support the repeat booster strategy in children! BHATTACHARYA: “That ends today. It's common sense and it's good science.” MAKARY: “There's no evidence healthy kids need it today. And most countries have stopped recommending it for children.” KENNEDY: “We're now one step closer to realizing President Trump's promise to make America healthy again.” Lawmakers want to launch “Natural Family Month” Republican lawmakers in Ohio are considering a bill to celebrate families. The measure would designate the weeks from Mother's Day to Father's Day as “Natural Family Month.” The timeframe goes from the second Sunday in May to the third Sunday in June. This contrasts with Homosexual/Transgender Pride Month when many celebrate sexually perverted lifestyles in June. 1,500-year-old Christian graves in Israel discovered And finally, archaeologists recently uncovered 1,500-year-old Christian graves in Israel's Negev Desert. The graves reflect Christian burial practices. Inside, archaeologists found rare ebony figurines depicting individuals with African features. Researchers wrote, “It is possible that the deceased were of ‘Ethiopian' origin, and that they, or their ancestors, converted to Christianity and moved to the Negev.” The figurines were made out of ebony wood sourced from India or Sri Lanka and likely carved in Africa before being brought to the Negev. Researchers believe it is the first time they have discovered such artifacts in the region of Israel and Jordan. When discussing the topic of true beauty, it's also important to talk about the times when life isn't so beautiful. In today's discussion, with Michelle Keener, that's exactly what we tackle. Michelle K. Keener (PhD, Liberty) is an adjunct professor of Christianity at Houston Christian University, as well as associate research fellow with the Kirby-Laing Centre for Public Theology. She is also the director of discipleship for a growing church in Las Vegas and an award-winning novelist and devotional author. In our time together, we discuss Michelle's latest book, Comfort in the Ashes: Explorations in the Book of Job to Support Trauma Survivors. Michelle helps us see how we can be a loving, healing presence to those undergoing struggles, how the church can be more helpful and attentive to those undergoing or recovering from trauma, and what Job teaches us about the beauty of God amidst suffering. My hope is that this conversation will help you feel less alone in any struggle you may be undergoing and, as Michelle says, may we experience God to be our place of refuge.Buy Melissa L. How do you listen to a sermon? Honestly, it isn't always easy. There's nothing more frustrating than listening to somebody talk for 30 to 45 minutes and to walk away with nothing. The truth is, there are some specific tactics you can apply to every sermon you hear that will help you get so much more out of it.In this episode of Live the Bible, we find those principles from one who called himself the “Preacher” – King Solomon in the book of Ecclesiastes. In response to this, former Russian Prime Minister (and current Deputy Chair of Russia's Security Council) Dmitry Medvedev stated that the "bad thing" that President Trump alluded to is WW3.AC: This is a classic Medvedev statement; invoking threats of WW3 is a fairly standard Tuesday for Dima, as Medvedev (echoing his former role as Prime Minister) often serves as the more informal conveyor of what Putin is thinking. To the casual observer it may not seem like it, but the situation is not openly hostile yet. However, the diplomacy being conducted between the United States and Russia is heating up nonetheless.-HomeFront-Pennsylvania: Overnight, a small arms engagement was reported at Lemon Hill Park in Philadelphia. 2x were killed, and 9x others were wounded. 1x person was also struck by a vehicle during the fray caused by the shooting. Local authorities state that three separate shooters have been counted as partaking in the incident, based on the shell casings found at the scene.AC: Very few details have been released regarding the cause of the shooting, or why a large group of people was gathered in this park late at night. At first glance this appears to be a gang shooting and/or the result of a domestic dispute, though more details are needed.Texas: More details have come to light following acts of vandalism that were reported throughout Austin last week. Three separate facilities were defaced with graffiti on May 21st, and yesterday it became known that all three facilities were linked to various Islamic institutions in the area. One was a Mosque and the other two sites were cultural centers. A vigil has been scheduled for May 29th in response to the acts of vandalism, and the Austin Police Department has announced a rigorous increase in patrols, along with undercover operations to prevent further vandalism.Washington: A small riot broke out over the weekend in Seattle as a concert and prayer vigil was held in Cal Anderson Park. The event, which largely involved various performances by Christian musical groups and various prayer vigils, was hosted by Pursuit Northwest, a local Christian organization. The event (which was permitted and approved by the government), became host to violence as ANTIFA activists arrived and began assaulting the police officers guarding the perimeter of the event. 27x rioters were arrested for assaulting police at the event. None of the event participants were arrested; 100% of the violence took place between ANTIFA activists and police. However, all of the rioters who assaulted police were immediately released by a local judge on Monday.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Though it may be surprising to some, the events over the weekend in Seattle are not out of the ordinary, and merely reflect the regional norm when it comes to those who practice the Christian faith in the region. Any type of display of Christianity in Seattle is usually met with violence, so the outcome being violence conducted on those attending the event was to be expected. In this case, extreme violence was very much going to be the result from the very start...holding a prayer vigil in a park named after the first openly gay Congressman in Washington was very much going to result in a kinetic response by locals. However, one important detail that ha

The Bible's Prophecy about the Free World by Daniel Martinovich Amazon.com Wordservice.org There are over a hundred chapters of Bible prophecy about a growing free world before the book of Daniel ever uttered a word of end time prophecy. A world in which kings and emperors, dictators and warlords, are being brought to nothing. A world in which there is no more legal slavery and the earthly promises of God made to a hundred generations of saints, unfulfilled in their time, could finally begin to come to pass. This simply could not occur in the ancient despotic world where the poor masses had little to no control of their temporal or even their eternal destinies. The prophecies you will read about in this book promised an era of conditional freedom and prosperity for many nations. They promise God's people who live in these nations will be free from the fear of oppression, and that they will be able to raise their children as they see fit. They promise the nations and peoples most influenced by the Bible and its principles will be the dominant nations in the world, just as they have been for the last 500 years. None of this occurred when the Messiah came, or with the end of the first covenant age and the horrible destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. In fact, it got even worse for true believers after that. It certainly did not occur when European empires and kingdoms began to claim Christianity. This all began to occur in a specific year prophesied in Daniel and Revelation, and for a specific reason. The journey you take through “The Bible's Prophecies about the Free World” is going to change your life and rock the world around you. Nothing will ever be the same. “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him,” (1 Corinthians 2:9).
294 – Are you tired of all the theological debates?Social media is full of people from different churches "explaining" why their theology is right and everyone else's theology is wrong. The basic problem is they are defining what it means to be a true Christian by doctrinal beliefs instead of actually living the teachings of Jesus in their daily lives. This mistake has gone on for at least 1,700 years. It's time to stop the theological debate mindset, trying to prove you are right. In this week's episode I talk about:The attitude behind this urge to debate and condemn everyone who disagrees with you theologically It's not how Jesus wants you to share your faithHow to interact with someone who's trying to debate with youAnd most importantly, a more effective way to share your faithJesus didn't prove he was the Messiah by his words. He told people to look at what he was doing, because what he did was fulfilling the Messianic prophecies. We need to follow his example. Quit trying to prove you are a Christian, or disprove someone else is, based on doctrines and theology. Let people see how you are following in Jesus's footsteps in healing and blessing mankind. We arrive in our series on David Lynch at what is widely considered to be one of his greatest films. BLUE VELVET acted as a creative and cultural palate cleanser for Lynch following his strong disappointment and frustration with Dune. It sits quite effectively at the intersection of Lynch's more eccentric qualities and his more accessible qualities, offering up a story that it both elusive and coherent. We're joined this week by Father Josh Bowron -- last heard on our Midnight Mass Clergical Roundtable episode -- who is a longstanding Lynch fan and offers up some keen insights into both this film and Lynch's broader creative processes. We go to some rich and thoughtful places in this episode and we really hope you enjoy it!4:23 - Two Questions with Father Josh Bowron14:30 - BLUE VELVETSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Psalm 136 (LSB)Andrew and Edwin consider the first part of Psalm 136 and God's steadfast love demonstrated in Creation. How amazing is that? This week's message digs into the heart of the Nicene Creed, the incarnation of Jesus, and the call for every believer to live out a hands-on, mission-driven faith. Pastor Chris shares stories from a recent medical mission in Guatemala, including the powerful healing of a 12-year-old girl named Sara and reminds us that true Christianity isn't about staying clean and comfortable, but about stepping into the mess and loving radically.
In today's devotional, Dr. Michael Youssef reminds us that we must battle unbiblical teaching. If you would like more insight into today's devotional topic, you can learn more in Dr. Michael Youssef's sermon Truth: The Most Endangered Species, Part 1: LISTEN NOW

Controversial Christianity is a five-week sermon series that addresses several BIG cultural questions and hotspots, bringing compassion, conviction, clarity, and Christ into the center of the controversy. Each topic in this series draws from the top questions regularly brought to the Pastoral Team. In this sermon, Tyler speaks about the cultural tensions surrounding gender identity. He unpacks the Church's responsibility to navigate these conflicts with a balanced posture of obedience, empathy, and belonging, recognizing that we are all image bearers in need of Jesus. At Northeast, our heart is to disciple all image bearers. We are called to be generous with our love while holding fast to biblical truth and the historic Christian ethic regarding gender and identity. *Anything less than compassionate is not Christian. *Every person is sexually broken. *We embrace our bodies as God created them at birth and learn to live faithfully within them. *Our identity begins in Christ. Furthermore, we also examine the Church's failure to reflect and lament on how we've responded to those struggling with gender dysphoria. The Church is called to be a safe place—a community that helps carry burdens. Tyler addresses the rapid cultural shifts that have intensified the conversation around transgender identity. Cultural "wars" often result in casualties. Let's be a light in the midst of it all. All truth without compassion, and all compassion without truth, fall short of the way of Jesus. In the realm of human sexuality, religious leaders have historically leaned toward shame and judgment. Yet, Jesus offered protection, moral direction that led to freedom, and the power of choice, without condemnation. We are all image bearers. There is no moral high ground. We stand equal at the foot of the cross. Let us receive Jesus.
