In a remote corner of Turkey, a unique geological formation, unearthed on September 11, 1959, by Turkish Army Captain Ilhan Durupinar, is raising eyebrows and piquing the interest of biblical scholars and geologists alike. This boat-shaped geological curiosity, commonly referred to as the Durupinar formation, is considered by some to be the final resting place of Noah's Ark.The narrative of Noah's Ark is deeply ingrained in the religious texts of both Christianity and Islam, with references found in Genesis 8:4 of the Bible and Surah 11:44 of the Qur'an. In both texts, the story recounts a great deluge, a boat, and a landing in a mountainous region. Locals in the nearby village point to the Durupinar site, which they call Al-Judi, as a possible landing point of the ark.Ed Opperman talks to Andrew Jones about the discovery which, if true, will rewrite history.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

In a brilliant display of malicious compliance, several cities are outmaneuvering GOP efforts to ban Pride flags on public property by simply making the rainbow banner their official city symbol. This tactical genius exposes the glaring hypocrisy of so-called "small government" proponents who have no issue legislating what colors citizens can fly, while simultaneously defending the divisive, hateful imagery of the Confederacy. It's a bold, "punk as fuck" stand against authoritarian bigotry and religious overreach, revealing how deeply threatened some are by inclusivity and basic human decency. This act of defiance serves as a beacon of hope against the relentless assault on human rights and freedom of expression, reminding us that critical thinking and resistance are vital in a climate where fear and ignorance are weaponized to control.News Source: GOP Fumes as City Outsmarts Pride Flag Ban By Daniel Villarreal for lgbtq nation June 7, 2025

What happens when the pursuit of intellectual certainty leads not to clarity, but to doubt, and doubt, in time, leads back to faith? Jeffrey Geibel, a seasoned mathematics educator and former skeptic, shares a journey that challenges assumptions about belief, knowledge, and truth. Raised in a home where chaos, cultural Christianity, and moral contradictions shaped his early view of faith, Jeff set out to find truth through reason and lived experience. Though once deeply involved in church and sincere in his belief, growing disillusionment with theological inconsistencies and a reliance on subjective experiences ultimately led him to atheism, then to radical agnosticism, questioning whether anything could truly be known at all. The turning point came unexpectedly, in a graduate-level geometry class. Guest Bio: Jeffrey Geibel is a veteran high school mathematics teacher with two decades of experience in public education. He holds a master's degree in mathematics and brings a deep appreciation for critical thinking, logic, and analytical inquiry to both his profession and personal life. Outside the classroom, Jeff is a dedicated husband and father of nine, with a passion for exploring the intersections of faith, reason, and human experience. His journey through skepticism, agnosticism, and ultimately back to belief reflects a thoughtful engagement with both intellectual honesty and existential meaning. Jo welcomes comedian, SiriusXM host, and author John Fugelsang for a brutally honest—and frequently hilarious—conversation about America's relentless cruelty, the billionaire boner bill, and why the GOP's Bible-thumping is pure performance. With his new book coming out August 19th (preorder it now), Separation of Church and Hate: A Sane Person's Guide to Taking Back the Bible from Fundamentalists, Fascists, and Flock-Fleecing Frauds, Fugelsang digs into the white supremacy at the core of U.S. immigration policy, the hypocrisy of politicians who wrap themselves in Christianity while gutting healthcare and nutrition for millions, and why “the cruelty is the point.”Jo and John don't hold back: they call out the media's cowardice, the cult of personality around Trump, and the Democrats' chronic inability to fight fire with fire. Fugelsang shares how his own upbringing—by ex-clergy parents—shaped his view of faith, and why nobody who actually reads the Bible could square it with today's right-wing politics. There are dick jokes, there's righteous anger, and there's a guide for anyone who's tired of watching religion used as a weapon against the most vulnerable.Subscribe and Follow Jo:https://linktr.ee/jojofromjerz Hosted on Acast. From earliest times, God commanded His people to see their national home through His holy eyes. In other words, countries around the world are to follow the Lord. Of course, many don't.Jeremiah 30:22 says, “So you will be my people, and I will be your God.”Many great civilizations have risen, but few last beyond a couple hundred years. Although history is debated, the foundations of America see a people who wanted to live holy unto the Lord. Modern America is still an ongoing experiment, but our Pledge of Allegiance, adopted in 1942, used the phrase “Under God.”Lincoln used it for the first time during his Gettysburg Address, when he told the people that from that point on, we would be one people—united under the Living God.This is something to celebrate, and we should! Our nation is always stretching to do better and fulfill an ideal that is more than just some slogan. It's our calling to be this way…under God.Let's pray.Lord, thank you that Christ is proclaimed in freedom in our nation! Help us continue this sacred calling. If this were true, then who or what determines what is right or wrong? Thankfully, this is not the case. You can demonstrate from the Bible that God's law is good, beneficial, and should be kept by every Christian today.

Send us a textTjbhpodcast@gmail.comEver wondered if you're carrying the weight of your ancestors' mistakes? In this thought-provoking episode of Navigate, Tim and Justin tackle the controversial concept of generational curses and blessings, offering clarity on one of Christianity's most misunderstood teachings. The conversation begins by examining biblical references to hereditary sin, from the disciples questioning Jesus about a blind man's condition to God's statements about "visiting iniquity to the third and fourth generation." But rather than settling for simplistic answers, the hosts dig deeper into what these passages truly mean for believers today. They thoughtfully distinguish between supernatural "curses" and the natural consequences of growing up in environments shaped by destructive patterns. What emerges is a nuanced understanding of how family history influences our spiritual journey without determining our destiny. The hosts share powerful insights about Christ specifically coming to break curses, wearing the crown of thorns as a visible symbol of His authority over every generational pattern of sin. For listeners struggling with family cycles of addiction, anger, or other destructive behaviors, this episode offers both practical wisdom and spiritual hope. The conversation also explores the crucial role of mentors in spiritual growth, challenging the common misconception that mentors should be comprehensive guides rather than specialists who help in specific areas of need. Tim and Justin emphasize that righteous living creates pathways for blessing even in darkness, while acknowledging that our daily choices matter more than our ancestry.Whether you're wrestling with your family's spiritual legacy or simply seeking to understand biblical teachings on blessing and cursing, this episode provides thoughtful, scripture-grounded perspectives that avoid both oversimplification and mysticism. Listen now to discover how Christ offers not just forgiveness but a completely new identity and spiritual bloodline to every believer.Support the show

Greg answers questions about how to determine which religion is true, why God wouldn't just write his own book, how we know the Christian God is the real God, and whether there's an objective moral system or we're simply acting to avoid pain.   Topics: How would you determine which religion is true and which is not? What's more likely: that God doesn't exist and men invented religion to control people, or that God depended on men to write a book with ridiculous laws? (02:00) How should I answer my friend who is asking, “How do I know the Christian God is the real God who created everything?” (25:00) There is no such thing as an objective moral system. We're simply acting to avoid pain, and God isn't necessary for that. Also, Christianity is immoral. Mike Gormley and Dave VanVickle share their thoughts on Pope Leo, unpack the meaning of “synodality” which the pope has mentioned various times, and address key differences and similarities between this papacy as opposed to previous ones. They also remind us that while the pope is important, we must not become hyper focused on every single detail of the papacy. Snippet from the Show “I'm super cautiously optimistic about everything with Pope Leo. Everything he's written so far, I've been so excited about, the decisions that he's made so far, I've been very happy with. I'm excited to see what's going to happen here.” We want to hear from you!
