Sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarnThe Callous Daoboys, a punk/mathcore band hailing from Georgia, USA, have emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the underground music scene. With their blistering sound, unapologetic lyrics, and chaotic stage presence, the band has carved a unique niche for themselves, pushing the boundaries of punk and leaving a lasting impact on anyone who witnesses their live performances. One of the defining characteristics of The Callous Daoboys' music is its raw, unfiltered energy. Their songs are a whirlwind of aggression, featuring dissonant guitar riffs, thunderous drumming, and Sturges' ferocious vocal delivery. Each track is a frenetic journey, filled with unpredictable tempo changes, jagged time signatures, and explosive breakdowns that keep listeners on the edge of their seats.Lyrically, The Callous Daoboys tackle a wide range of social and political themes with an unapologetic and confrontational approach. Their lyrics explore topics such as systemic injustice, mental health struggles, societal apathy, and the complexities of human relationships. By addressing these issues head-on, the band encourages listeners to question the status quo and embrace their own agency in effecting change. While their recorded music is a force to be reckoned with, The Callous Daoboys truly shine in their live performances. Their shows are a whirlwind of chaos and catharsis, with the band members throwing themselves across the stage, feeding off the energy of the crowd, and creating an intense and immersive experience. The visceral connection they establish with their audience is a testament to their dedication to their craft and their unwavering commitment to delivering an unforgettable performance. The band's relentless work ethic and DIY approach have also played a significant role in their rise to prominence. They have tirelessly toured across the United States, building a dedicated fan base and spreading their electrifying sound to new ears. Their commitment to connecting with their audience extends beyond the stage, as they actively engage with their fans through social media, fostering a sense of community and solidarity. In 2019, The Callous Daoboys released their debut album, "Die On Mars," a chaotic and ambitious body of work that solidified their place in the punk/mathcore scene. The album received critical acclaim for its innovative songwriting, technical prowess, and unrelenting intensity. Tracks like "Blackberry DeLorean" and "Blacklisted in D.C." showcase the band's ability to seamlessly blend abrasive aggression with moments of melodic respite, creating a dynamic and captivating listening experience. The Callous Daoboys are a testament to the enduring spirit of punk rock, pushing the boundaries of the genre and injecting it with a fresh sense of urgency. With their relentless energy, uncompromising sound, and unapologetic approach to their art, they continue to inspire and invigorate both new and seasoned fans of punk and mathcore. As they continue to evolve and expand their musical horizons, The Callous Daoboys are poised to leave an indelible mark on the world of aggressive music for years to come.Converge, Norma Jean, Botch, The Chariot, Every Time I Die, Ion Dissonance, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, Deadguy, Car Bomb, Rolo Tomassi, Psyopus, Gaza, Cult Leader, The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, Frontierer, Daughters, The Locust, Heavy Heavy Low Low, Knut, The Armed, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Sectioned, Pageninetynine, Melt-Banana, Blood Brothers, SikTh, Cave In, War from a Harlots Mouth, Shai Hulud, Me and Him Call It Us, Horse the Band, Architects, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Vein, Loma Prieta, Botchla, Fear Before the March of FThis episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn and presented to you by The Barn Media Group.

Metal pioneers Frontierer are finally on the cusp of their first tour of Australia.Known and loved around the world as a creatively unique sonic mass of seething intent, Frontierer have left a wake of destruction in their path since forming just over a decade ago, infusing elements of mathcore with downtuned aggression and a progressive sound layered with a wall of electronics that defies belief. With the Australian tour kicking off in Brisbane on October 13, HEAVY caught up with founding member and guitarist Pendram Valiani to get the lowdown on what to expect."Just madness, nothing but madness," he smiled. "It's gonna be great. We're looking forward to seeing what the crowds are like compared to our European collegues and our UK fans. Some chaos, some fun, some friendliness and a hell of a good time."While coming to a country like Australia for the first time can be daunting for a tourist, let alone a touring musician, Valiani admits he doesn't really have a whole lot to work with when it comes to asking advice."I don't personally know many people who have been to Australia," he shrugged. "So I don't have a lot of anecdotal stories or anything to let me know what it's gonna be like, so I'm going in with a bit of a surprise element. There's been a lot of planning for this to make this tour happen and leaving some elements as a surprise means we are going to be able to discover things without bias and we're looking forward to it."In the full interview, Pendram tells us what to expect from Frontierer's live shows, the tight schedule and life on the road, bringing Apate with them and why, the early days of the band, their label as a mathcore band and more.TOUR DATESThursday, October 13: The Zoo, BrisbaneFriday, October 14: The Newcastle Hotel, NewcastleSaturday, October 15: Factory Floor, SydneySunday, October 16: The Basement, CanberraTuesday, October 18: Stay Gold, MelbourneWednesday, October 19: Enigma Bar, AdelaideOfficial Event PageTickets onsale now fromhttps://tourlink.to/frontierer

Hey Friends! Every episode, I take a deep dive with my guests about their life, experiences, life lessons with the goal to share with all of you new perspectives. I believe there is so much power in learning from one another that allows us to uncover new things about ourselves and the more we uncover about our individual self, the closer we get to feeling what we are all looking for and that is purpose. Today I have such a cool guest. I'm joined by Pedram Valiani from the bands Frontierer, Sectioned, and We (are). We connect on instagram and you'll hear in this episode how it all came together. He took me through the journey from not really being a fan of music to finding what he truly loved about music. We talked about what truly matters to Ped when it comes to music and being a creator. I found so many parallels to my own experience in craft beer. There's so many good moments in this episode, so I won't give them all away. Also - pardon in advance that I had a couple fangirl moments, but overall I do have such an appreciation for what this band is doing and how they approach creating music for us as fans. I appreciate you all supporting the show. If you would like to continue to support this show and the other work I'm doing, you can follow along my adventures primarily on instagram meganfromtheblacklagoon. Lastly, this will be my final plug here about the LIVE SHOW my other podcast (Halloween is Forever) has coming up THIS FUCKING SATURDAY. We are doing this live show for our one year anniversary! I'm terrified and excited all at once. The live recording is coinciding with a beer release that I'm part of called May Queen. It's the second year we are releasing the beer with Hop Farm Brewing in the neighborhood of Lawrenceville here in beautiful Pittsburgh. HIF got involved because the whole beer name / style was derived from the 2019 Ari Aster classic Midsommar. So here are the details - June 25th from 7-10PM at Hop Farm in their warehouse, we will be sippin' on some May Queen, raising money for the Pink Boots Society and then from 8-9 HIF will kick off a really fun live recording where we are going to highlight clips from the movie Midsommar. It's a MFing free event, so come out and support women in the craft beverage industry, support my other podcast, it would ya know be super cool. Weiterlesen »

In unserem 13. Dennis Bs 106. Folge hier im Gemischtwarenladen weiter. Inspired by Shakira's wild boar bag robber, Remfry and Steve put forward their audition for The Really Wild Show, CBBC's flagship wildlife television show … unfortunately, no one told them that the show ended over 15 years ago, but the deviation into the natural world does lead Remfry to confess to a spate of cow tippings in the South Gloucestershire area around 25 years ago whilst Steve confesses the equally heinous crime of never having seen The Lion King. In more musically related matters, a study released by the UK Intellectual Property Office which analysed streaming services data between 2014-2020 has concluded that approximately 720 British musicians make a living solely from streaming royalties. We won't spoil how many musicians are registered in the UK, but let's put it this way … it's a lot more than 720! I've spent the past few days trying to figure out the appropriate words to describe Frontierer, the band, the music, and these 2 souls, Pedram and Calum. Given that it's taken me so long to form my words might give you insight into exactly what makes Frontierer so epic. If you listen to the radio, or love traditional pop music, there's an extremely good chance you have never heard of them or would even care to. However, if you're like me, and you're always looking around the corner to find the next thing, or if you're already listening to challenging mathematic metal and noise, well... Frontierer might the best thing you already love and understand. My conversation with Pedram and Calum left me wanting more, and I hope this interview touches you the same way. I say it a lot, but I will tell you this one was pure joy. What a killer duo and what a sensation the band is. In this episode, Rhys speaks with musician and lecturer, Dan Stevenson. You might know Dan as one of the guitar players in Scottish mathcore band, Frontierer.Frontierer are known for their heavy, erratic and aggressive form of technical metal. Having seen them perform live at ArcTanGent in 2019 (which seems like a lifetime ago now) I know firsthand that they bring an intense amount of energy and enthusiasm to their live shows. But, in direct contrast to the “noise terror” of Frontierer, Dan has just finished writing a solo record which is at the complete opposite end of the sonic spectrum. The record is called “There Is Beauty In Everything” and it relates heavily to a breakthrough Dan had with his mental health. It’s unconventional, raw, interesting, moving and most pertinently, uplifting — I say this because Dan has aptly named and released the record under the name “Lift”.Dan created this record during a difficult period last year in which he experienced a loss. The record was born out of a sort of necessity to process what'd happened and to comprehend the emotions he was experiencing.Even though he was in an extremely low place, Dan had the idea to try and write songs that would reflect the mood he wished to be in, rather than the state of mind he was then in. This is when the record really started to take shape. In this conversation, we talk about:Dan’s history with his mental health and being a really emotional kid.We talk about his time at uni and how he had spells of poor mental health before discovering fitness as a means to cope.We also talk about how a mental health breakdown and psychotic episode, prompted a big change in Dan’s life.We also talk about burnout, setting boundaries and self-care.Thematically, we also talk:Creativity, baby loss, meditation, the Scottish/Welsh music scene, burnout, setting boundaries, self-care and reconnecting with nature.I really loved chatting to Dan and really connected with the record too. Any of you Bon Iver fans out there, you should definitely pick this one up via Venn Records when it's released. Peace.

Im Gemischtwarenladen heißen wir somit willkommen: The Story So Far, Can't Swim, More Or Les, Wordburglar, Boston Manor, Frontierer, Killjoy, Dire Peril, Unleash The Archers, Svavar Knútur und GC Johnson mit seinem Projekt Acoustic Labs.

As you can tell, we talk about the new Mithras album. Obviously, we talk about news. That is the established format of this podcast after all! We talk about the new Painted in Exile album (finally!), The Corelia kickstarter, the new Avenged Sevenfold album (that came out of nowhere), the new Korn album (yep), the Scale the Summit "breakup", the Allegaeon Patreaon, Frontierer's first live show and Arkona's new old song. We also reflect back on things, like Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory turning 16 and our discussion on Slice the Cake from last week. We also mention a few other things, like a Guitar Hero chart of A Sense of Gravity's Echo Chasers, and some shitty flute covers, including this excellent one of Dragonforce's masterpiece. Then, our underrated album, which is Rishloo's Living As Ghosts With Buildings As Teeth. Also, our cool people section covers some important topics! I promise!
