Pascale ----------------------- FULL TRANSCRIPT ----------------------- Hello, beautiful soul Welcome to the final week of The Gratitude Experiment. This is Week 7, and what a journey it has been! Thank you for joining me on this incredible path of transformation and growth. Your willingness to open your heart to gratitude has brought us to this moment of reflection, renewal, and celebration. I'm Pascale Gibon, your host, and I'm so grateful for your presence, energy, and commitment to this experiment. Together, we've explored the profound impact of gratitude on our lives, and as we conclude this series, it's time to look back at what we've learnt, celebrate how far we've come, and set intentions to carry this practice forward into the new year. A Journey Through Gratitude If you have just joined us or missed some episodes, let's begin by reflecting on what we've uncovered during these last six beautiful weeks. Week 1: Unlocking Happiness In Week 1, we began by unlocking happiness, discovering that joy can be found in the simplest of moments. By pausing to notice life's small gifts, such as a smile, a warm drink, and a quiet evening, we began to see how gratitude brings light to our daily lives. Week 2: The Gift of Gratitude In Week 2, we explored how gratitude becomes a gift we give, not only to ourselves but to others. By expressing thankfulness to those who support and love us and even to those who challenge us, we strengthened our relationships and learnt to transform difficulties into lessons. Week 3: Harvesting Hope In Week 3, we leaned into gratitude as a source of hope. Inspired by Nelson Mandela's resilience, we embraced gratitude as a tool to find light in life's darkest moments, fostering faith in the goodness of life and others. Week 4: Mindful Gratitude In Week 4, we slowed down and practised mindful gratitude. Through guided meditation, we connected with the present moment, appreciating the beauty of nature, the seasons, and the small, often overlooked blessings around us. Week 5: Adopting an Attitude of Gratitude In Week 5, we took gratitude beyond practice and made it a mindset, a way of seeing the world. By shifting our focus from scarcity to abundance, we discovered that gratitude dissolves fear and invites joy and possibility into our lives. Week 6: Writing Your Way to Gratitude Last week, in Week 6, we tapped into the power of journaling. We deepened our gratitude practice through writing, allowing ourselves to reflect, process emotions, and create a map of life's treasures. Journaling became a sacred ritual for mindfulness, clarity, and joy. A Moment of Reflection Take a moment now to reflect on your journey. How has this experiment changed your perspective? What new habits or realisations have you embraced? How do you feel about gratitude now compared to when you began this journey? You've done something truly remarkable by committing to this practice. Gratitude is a gift that grows with time, and you've planted seeds that will continue to bloom in your life. Renew Your Commitment to Gratitude As we conclude this series, let's commit to carrying gratitude into the weeks, months, and years ahead. Here are three ways you can renew your commitment to gratitude: 1. Create a Daily Gratitude Ritual: Begin or end each day with three things you're grateful for. This simple habit keeps gratitude alive in your heart. 2. Express gratitude to others: Continue to share your appreciation with those around you. Whether it's a heartfelt thank-you, a kind note, or simply being present with someone, your gratitude will strengthen your connections. 3. Reconnect with gratitude during challenges: Remember that gratitude isn't just for the easy moments. When life feels overwhelming, pause and ask yourself: What can I learn from this? What is one thing I am forever grateful for? Gratitude is your anchor, your compass, and your light. Rejoice in Your Growth Let's celebrate your achievement! Let's celebrate your courage to participate in this experiment, your openness to growth, and the positive changes you've created. As you rejoice in your progress, know that gratitude is a journey, not a destination. It's a practice you can return to again and again, and it will continue to enrich your life in unexpected ways. Let abundance abound in your life! Final Thoughts Before we close, I want to leave you with a powerful quote by Melody Beattie: "Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend." Gratitude truly has the power to transform. As you move forward, may gratitude continue to light your path, nurture your spirit, and bring joy to your life. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being part of The Gratitude Experiment. It has been an honour to guide you on this journey. Remember, when you say yes! to love, you say yes! to life. I will celebrate Christmas with my family this week, and I wish you a Merry Christmas and holiday season with your loved ones. May we all be grateful for this time of celebration, faith, love, peace, hope and laughter. Until next time, I'm sending you so much love, light, and gratitude. Have a beautiful week filled with celebration. Merry Christmas!

Pascale ----------------------- FULL TRANSCRIPT ----------------------- Hello, beautiful soul; a warm welcome to Week 3 of The Gratitude Experiment. I'm delighted to have you join me for episode 368 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. This week is exceptional. It's Thanksgiving, and it also happens to be my birthday week. To all our North American listeners, Happy Thanksgiving week! I wish you, this holiday season, a joyful and peaceful Thanksgiving with your loved ones and friends. May this time of reflection and togetherness fill your heart with love and warmth. Since Thanksgiving is a celebration of gratitude, let's go deeper into its transformative power. Being grateful is not a fleeting practice; it's a habit that grows stronger with trust, deepens our faith in the divine and lights the path of Hope. Even in life's grimmest moments, gratitude opens our hearts to recognize the love and abundance around us. We cannot neglect the power of gratitude because we align with the energy of love, even in the grimmest moments. The Power of Gratitude and Hope Gratitude reminds us of our connection to love, even in challenging times. To reflect on this, let's draw inspiration from the life of Nelson Mandela. In his autobiography, Mandela shared a profound truth about humanity and hope that sustained him through the harsh reality of imprisonment. He chose to believe in the inherent goodness in every heart, even in the darkest moments. Here is an excerpt that captures this beautifully: "I always knew that deep down in every human heart, there was mercy and generosity. No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than the opposite. Even in the grimmest times in prison, when my comrades and I were pushed to our limits, I would see a glimmer of humanity in one of the guards, perhaps just for a second, but it was enough to reassure me and keep me going. Men's goodness is a flame that can be hidden but never extinguished." Nelson Mandela's story teaches us that even in adversity, we can choose gratitude, Hope and love. His ability to see the light in the shadows is a powerful reminder that gratitude can be our guide through any challenge. Gratitude is Your Glimmer of Hope As you gather with your family and friends for Thanksgiving, let gratitude be the heart of your celebration. Take a moment to share love and appreciation for one another. Here is a fun idea: Create a "Gratitude Jar" for Thanksgiving. Have everyone write down the person they are most grateful for this year, then read the notes together. It's a beautiful way to connect and celebrate the blessings of your relationships. The Gratitude Practice This Week This week, I invite you to focus on harvesting Hope by counting your blessings. Here is this week's reflection exercise: Ask yourself: What blessings have enriched your life? Reflect: How does acknowledging these blessings make you feel? Write down your thoughts daily. As you build this habit, notice how gratitude softens and opens your heart. Gratitude doesn't just shift your perspective; it nurtures your soul. As Henry Ward Beecher so beautifully said: "Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul" Let us honour and cherish all the love we receive and give thanks for the light it brings into our lives. Your Gratitude Challenge This week's gratitude challenge is simple yet profound: Take time each day to count your blessings. Reflect on the abundance in your life, both big and small. If you are ready to share your reflections, join me on my YouTube channel or our private “Awaken Your Authentic Self Community” on Facebook. Your stories inspire others and create a ripple of gratitude that connects us all. Final Thoughts As we close this week's practice, remember that you are the architect of your life with each choice and decision you make. Gratitude is your foundation, helping you focus on abundance and the beauty of the present moment. Thank you for being part of this journey with me. I wish you a week filled with gratitude, Hope, love and light. Until next time, I am sending you so much love and light. Have a beautiful Thanksgiving week.

Table of Contents Introduction to Week 2 of the Gratitude Experiment Reflection: Gratitude for the People Who Bring Joy Reflection: Gratitude for the People Who Challenge Us Compassion, Forgiveness, and Transforming Conflict Expressing Gratitude to Deepen Relationships Weekly Practice: A Twofold Gratitude Reflection Introduction to Week 2 of the Gratitude Experiment Pascale opens the episode by inviting listeners to build on last week's practice of appreciating life's simplest joys. This week, the focus shifts to the people in our lives, those who uplift us and challenge us. Reflection: Gratitude for the People Who Bring Joy Listeners are encouraged to reflect on the individuals who have offered love, support, and kindness this year. Pascale explains how expressing gratitude for these relationships deepens our connection to joy and positivity. Reflection: Gratitude for the People Who Challenge Us Pascale takes the reflection deeper by introducing the concept of gratitude for challenging relationships. These people, though difficult, mirror the lessons we need to learn and are often our greatest teachers, helping us grow in patience, compassion, and self-awareness. Compassion, Forgiveness, and Transforming Conflict By choosing to “seek to understand” rather than “be understood,” listeners can unlock the healing power of compassion. Pascale explains how forgiveness allows us to release resentment and see the world through a lens of clarity and love. Expressing Gratitude to Deepen Relationships Citing a quote by William Arthur Ward: “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it,” Pascale emphasizes the importance of sharing gratitude with others, whether through a heartfelt message, a letter, or a moment of reflection. Weekly Practice: A Twofold Gratitude Reflection This week's gratitude practice includes two parts: Reflect on the people you are most grateful for this year. Reflect on the people who have challenged you and the lessons they taught you. Listeners are encouraged to write these reflections down and, if ready, express their gratitude to these individuals in meaningful ways. Conclusion Pascale closes the episode with a gentle reminder to embrace gratitude for life in all its forms, the joys and challenges. We unlock personal growth, enrich our lives, and uplift our spirits by practising gratitude for our experiences and relationships. Let this week's practice bring you closer to love, clarity, and transformation. Welcome back to week 2 of the Gratitude Experiment. I'm so grateful to have you with me for episode 367 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. Thank you for choosing to spend this time with me as we continue to explore the transformative power of gratitude. How did last week's gratitude practice go for you? Did you take the time to pause and reflect on the simplest things in life that bring you joy? Perhaps you captured those moments in photos or sketches or cherished them in your heart. Our first step in week 1 was to practise gratitude daily to activate genuine happiness in our lives. You may find this practice challenging amidst the busyness of daily life. However, trust me, when you follow it through, it will become a common practice. Since gratitude is a practice that fills us with joy, this week, we'll delve deeper into its beautiful and intricate ways of connecting us with the people in our lives. Gratitude is a gift we can give to others and also a gift we can give to ourselves. This week, we'll reflect on two powerful questions that will help us experience gratitude in a whole new light. Your first reflection is: who are you most grateful for this year? Naturally, you will start with the individuals who have brought light and kindness into your life and shown you loving support and appreciation. They uplift us, see the best in us and inspire us to stay positive and keep moving forward. Think of them, and fill your heart with gratitude for their presence. Whilst this first reflection matters, let's take our gratitude practice deeper, shall we? The second reflection is: who are you most grateful for that has challenged you profoundly? Here is where the true transformation begins. Think about the people who have pushed your red button, tested you or caused discomfort this year. They may be individuals with whom you've experienced tension, disagreement, or even conflict. It's easy to feel gratitude for those who bring ease into our lives, but challenges often teach us the most profound lessons. These are the people who have helped you grow. They may have tested your patience, stirred your emotions, or made you question yourself, but in doing so, they became your best teachers. They showed you what you needed to hear, where you needed to grow, and how you could love more deeply. Take a moment to imagine one of these challenging relationships. Perhaps it's someone you disagreed with, someone who didn't meet your expectations or even someone whose presence unsettled you. Reflect on how these experiences helped you grow. Now, picture turning those emotionally intense moments into love by fostering understanding. When we stop seeking to be understood and instead choose to understand, we unlock the healing power of compassion. Let me repeat this sentence. When we stop seeking to be understood and instead choose to understand, we unlock the healing power of compassion. Forgiveness begins to take root. In its essence, forgiveness is about “giving love forward.” This transformation from frustration to clarity, peace and love allows us to release anger, disappointment, and resentment. Gratitude for these relationships becomes a way of saying: “Thank you for helping me grow in love.” By choosing to be grateful for the growth spurred by conflict, you release the hold of negative emotions and begin to see the world with newfound clarity. Only in Love can you see clearly. The next step is expressing your gratitude. As William Arthur Ward said: “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” Take time this week to reach out to those who matter most to you. Let them know how much they mean to you, whether it's a parent, a friend, a mentor or someone who played a pivotal role in your growth this year. Remember to include the individuals who have challenged you, when you compile your gratitude list. Thank them for the lessons, wisdom, and opportunity to grow in the energy of love. Gratitude transforms these relationships into blessings. This week, your daily gratitude practice is twofold. Reflect on the people you are most grateful for this year. Reflect on the people you are thankful for who have challenged you the most. Write these reflections down, and if you feel ready, express your gratitude to these individuals, whether through words, a letter, or simply holding them in your heart with love and appreciation. As we conclude this week's journey, I encourage you to embrace gratitude for the entire spectrum of life, for both the joys and challenges. When we say yes to love, we say yes to life in all its beautiful forms. Witness how gratitude enriches your life, deepens your relationships, and uplifts your spirit. Let this week be one of heartfelt connection, growth, and transformation. Until next time, I'm sending you lots of love and light. Have a wonderful week of gratitude.

Many thanks for your support. With love and gratitude. Pascale ----------------------- FULL TRANSCRIPT ----------------------- Hello, beautiful soul. I'm Pascale Gibon, your host. Welcome to the first week of our Gratitude Experiment. We are gently unlocking the door of happiness this week by opening our hearts to gratitude in the simplest, most beautiful ways. When we pause and take notice, we start to see that happiness is not a destination, but it's present with us, waiting for us to notice it in tiny, precious moments. I'm excited to embark on our seven weeks of gratitude journey with you. I invite you to play full-on and have a fun experience. Before we start, ground yourself and take seven deep breaths in and out. So you breathe in deeply and breathe out slowly seven times. Gently close your eyes, if it's safe for you to do so, and imagine the positive impact focusing on gratitude will have on your life. The purpose of this experiment is to guide you gently towards a long-term gratitude practice you do daily. Longitudinal studies suggest that regular gratitude practice over time has enduring positive effects. Let us now review why gratitude increases your happiness: An attitude of gratitude uplifts our spirits and increases our mental and physical well-being. How do you feel when you are thankful to someone else? When we focus on the negative, “what does not work,” the doom and gloom, gratitude brings us back to our aliveness and positivity. Expressing gratitude extends our love as we recognize the goodness in our lives, even through the ups and downs. It also helps us cope with stress and buffers the impact of life's challenges. Therefore, gratitude helps us activate and optimize positive emotions like joy, happiness, satisfaction, optimism and contentment. Focusing on the positive aspects of life with a regular gratitude practice is linked to greater life satisfaction and fosters a more positive outlook. Indeed, neuroscientific research indicates that a grateful mind has measurable positive effects on brain regions related to social bonding, empathy, and emotional processing. Another benefit worth noting is the link between gratitude and higher levels of self-esteem: recognizing and appreciating our strengths contributes to a positive self-image. So let's do it! Let's increase our gratitude this week by deepening our love, hope and faith. Gratitude is the starting point of happiness. Let's return to Love. Love is our salvation, and it is essential to intensify that energy in times of doubt, disappointment, frustration, anger, stress and despair. Take a deep breath into your heart centre, in the middle of your chest, and your physical heart, and align your thinking with abundance as you say thank you from the depth of your heart. This week, we will practise gratitude by gently opening ourselves to life's wonders, little by little. Every day, take a moment to identify three things you are grateful for. These can be small, ordinary, or even unexpected. It could include things that lift your spirit, and bring a little spark of joy into your day. Like the comforting warmth of your favourite drink, a stroll in the park, the song of a bird, or a moment of stillness when you just breathe. By being grateful for life's simple pleasures, you raise your energy to a state of appreciation and positivity, viewing life with warmth. Here is your daily reflection: Write these moments down, letting yourself linger with each one and feeling the happiness they bring. Even a few words are enough to capture the feeling. Each reflection becomes a key, unlocking happiness and lighting up your heart. Remember: “When you say yes! to love, you say yes! to life.” Gratitude is a notable well-being enhancer. The more grateful you are, the more blessings you attract when you align with the energy of appreciation. To make it fun this week, take photos or draw the simple things in life you are most grateful for. As you progress through this week, notice how gratitude can transform your perspective on each day. Feel how these moments of happiness expand in your heart. This is the beginning of our journey, one gentle, graceful step at a time. Until next time, I'm sending you lots of love and light.
Send us a textTHE FRUIT OF JOYFruit-Full | Part 2Springcreek Church | Pastor Keith StewartSeptember 29, 2024#god #realspringcreekchurch #fruitfull #thefruitofjoy #joy #habits #attitudeshttps://www.springcreekchurch.org/One of the best arguments for Christianity is Christians when they are seen as people full of joy. And one of the best arguments against Christianity is Christians when they are seen as self-righteous, smug and angry all the time. As we continue to examine the fruit of the Spirit, this week we want to dive deeply into the fountain of joy. In this message, we're going to see God for Who He really is (the most Joyful Being in the universe). We're going to look at the habits and attitudes that rob us of our joy and learn how to have a joy that is impervious to adverse circumstances. -----DISCUSSION QUESTIONS1. Pastor Keith talked about how God is the most Joyful Being in the universe. He gave several examples of this. What other examples can you see, whether practical or in Scripture, of the joy of God? Would you say that the way you see God (your God image) has always incorporated His joy? Why or why not? Are there things about the way you see God that might need healing or correction?2. How is joy different from happiness? What are the limitations of happiness? Have you ever gotten trapped in a cycle of searching for happiness highs? Describe what that was like.3. The word joy and rejoice are interrelated words. Joy is derived from being with God and allowing His Spirit to fill our lives and rejoice is something we train ourselves to do repeatedly in life – to return to the source of joy (God Himself). In what ways do we drift from God? How does being in pain or facing adversity shift our focus from God and onto something else? Has this ever happened to you? If you're willing, share it with the group.4. Legalism is a surefire way to rob you of joy because with legalism, I don't feel assured that Christ is enough. Instead I feel compelled to add something to His completed work. So with legalism, it's always Jesus + something else. Why does legalism rob us of joy? Have you ever known or been a legalist? Pastor Keith talked about having a great week with God followed by a terrible week then asked the question, “Which week did God love you more?” If you felt He loved you more when everything was going right, it's an indicator that there is some remnant of legalism still holding onto you. On what basis do we know that God's love is constant and unchanging? Cite Scriptures if you know any that would back up your claim.5. Gratitude is one of the surest signs of joy. I find such contentment in God and know how He takes delight in me, that I become consciously aware that the evidence of His delight is all around me even when nothing is going right. Have you ever tried the 30-day Gratitude Experiment? How much is gratitude a part of your intentional daily routine? 6. Paul gives us a powerful example of how God worked through his imprisonment in the book of Philippians. So even in the midst of adversity, Paul maintains a type of unshakable joy. In fact, his joy is so great, that it literally becomes the theme of the book of Philippians. How was God at work in Paul's imprisonment? How has God worked in your life during times of illness, pain, adversity or persecution? Sometimes, we can't see all that God is doing in the moment, but in retrospect, everything becomes clear. Are there things in your past that you went through that were extremely difficult, but now in looking back, you can clearly see the hand of God? What was that?

She shares insightful research, discusses the barriers to gratitude, and provides five practical steps to cultivate gratitude daily. By integrating these practices, listeners can enhance their overall well-being, develop resilience, and live a more joyful life. Table of Contents The Importance of Cultivating Gratitude Benefits of Practicing Gratitude Overcoming Barriers to Gratitude Five Steps to a Daily Gratitude Practice Transforming Challenges with Gratitude Conclusion The Importance of Cultivating Gratitude Gratitude is a powerful emotional trait that extends beyond a simple "thank you." It involves recognizing the positive aspects of our lives and appreciating the efforts of others that contribute to our well-being. Developing an attitude of gratitude shifts our focus from what we lack to the abundance that surrounds us, fostering a more positive and satisfying life experience. Benefits of Practicing Gratitude Scientific studies highlight numerous benefits of practising gratitude regularly. These include improved sleep quality, enhanced immune function, self-confidence, and stronger interpersonal relationships. Regular gratitude practice also promotes emotional stability and can lead to long-term happiness and contentment. Overcoming Barriers to Gratitude Practising gratitude can be challenging in a society with a negative bias. Media often amplify negative news, making it harder to maintain a positive outlook. Additionally, comparing ourselves to others can hinder gratitude, as it diverts our focus to what we lack rather than appreciating our unique journey and accomplishments. Five Steps to a Daily Gratitude Practice Gratitude Journal: Jot down ten things you're grateful for every day. Consistency is key to ingraining this habit. Verbal Gratitude: Express what you're thankful for out loud in the form of prayer or affirmation, acknowledging the love and goodness you receive daily. Share Your Gratitude: Communicate your gratitude to those who matter most in your life, either through letters or face-to-face conversations. Gratitude Meditation: During meditation, focus on the people and events you're grateful for and send them positive thoughts. Reframe Challenges: When faced with difficulties, find the lessons within and express gratitude for the growth and awareness these experiences bring. Transforming Challenges with Gratitude Gratitude offers a powerful framework for reframing negative situations. By identifying and appreciating the lessons within challenges, we can transform adversity into opportunities for personal growth and greater wisdom. This shift in perspective empowers us to embrace life's complexities with an open heart. Conclusion Cultivating an attitude of gratitude requires intentionality and practice, but the rewards are immeasurable. You open the door to a more positive, resilient, and joyful life when you integrate gratitude into your daily routine. Take action on the practices shared in this episode and observe the transformative effects on your overall well-being. Pascale --------------------- FULL TRANSCRIPT --------------------- Episode 350: Unlock True Happiness - 5 Steps To A Daily Gratitude Practice Hello, beautiful souls. I am Pascale Gibon, your host, welcoming you to episode 350 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. Since we are halfway through the year, let us dive into the importance of cultivating gratitude. All this means is that gratitude must become a customary practice in your everyday life and not just an occasional acknowledgement. The mindset you develop with appreciation is that life happens for and through you daily. When you are grateful every day, you acknowledge the daily blessings and remain in a positive energy and mindset. The more positivity you attract into your life through your attitude of mind and heart, the more blissful your life becomes. Robert Emmons, who is a proponent of gratitude research, defines gratitude as follows: An affirmation of goodness. A way for us to acknowledge that the sources of this goodness are outside of ourselves. We are usually grateful to someone for something. Are there benefits to gratefulness? Recent mental health research found 35 benefits of practising gratitude regularly. According to current scientific studies, cultivating gratitude contributes to an individual's character development and overall well-being. There are many health and mental benefits to gratitude, to name a few: better quality sleep, boosted immunity, relieved depression, self-confidence, patience, optimism, resiliency as well as enhanced relationships. A regular practice of gratitude can lead to long-term emotional stability and contentment. Just imagine the effects of a grateful heart versus an ungrateful one. The former is loving and open, and the latter is contracted and resentful. Practising gratitude daily improves our well-being and makes us stronger. Gratitude leads to true happiness, and let me encourage you to make it a habit. As we go through our day-to-day lives, we usually take things for granted, and whenever things go wrong, we immediately fall into the trap that life is happening to us. Moreover, there is another trap: a mind drawn to negativity instead of positivity. It can be challenging to be grateful in a negativity-bias society. The media knows that sensational negative headlines sell more than positive ones. Since individuals are more attracted to negative news than positive ones, this reality prompts us to reinforce positivity in our lives with the gratitude practice. Another barrier to gratitude is comparing ourselves to others. When we compare ourselves to others, we fail to be grateful for what we have and our accomplishments. A comparison mindset leads to discontent, jealousy and a negative self-image. So, how can we incorporate gratitude into our daily lives to enhance our character and well-being? Here are five ways to cultivate gratitude daily: 1. Gratitude Journal: Hold a gratitude journal and write down ten things you are most grateful for every day. Since this is a daily routine, it requires discipline and consistency. For this reason, I like the next practice if you fall out of the journal practice. 2. Verbal Gratitude: Make it a daily habit to say out loud what you are most grateful for in your life. It could be in the form of prayer. Additionally, make it a routine to acknowledge all the love you receive throughout the day. 3. Share your gratitude: Share your love with the people you are most grateful for in your life. You can write them a letter or tell them face to face. 4. Gratitude Meditation: Practise a gratitude meditation. As you meditate, reflect on the things you are most grateful for in your life. For example, bring the people to mind you appreciate the most in your life and send them gratitude. 5. Reframe Challenges: Reframe negative situations into positive lessons: Life happens, and we encounter challenging situations. However, you can take a deep breath and reframe the negative situation into a positive one. We express gratitude when we understand the lessons behind challenging situations that enable us to grow in wisdom and awareness. Those lessons are priceless. As a practitioner of gratitude through daily prayer, I now also use gratitude throughout the day. Whenever I am aware of the expression of love, I appreciate that love and say “thank you” to the invisible and visible help I receive with appreciation. It is proven that the attitude of gratitude has many psychological and physiological benefits. How could you incorporate more gratitude into your life? Would a gratitude journal or meditation work for you? Is expressing words of appreciation to others something you need to do more often? Do you need to send a letter to someone to let them know how much they helped you and how much you love them? Take a moment to reflect on gratitude and examine whether you have adopted an attitude of gratitude in your life to experience more positivity. If so, let me congratulate you. If not, it is time to act on the content I have just shared. Every year In November, I run the Gratitude Experiment 7-week Challenge, keep an eye out on my website pascalegibon.com for the forthcoming dates. It would be great to have you as a participant. I look forward to connecting with you next Monday and wish you a fantastic week of gratitude. I am sending you lots of love and light.

Pascale --------------------- FULL TRANSCRIPT --------------------- Introduction: Dear listeners, welcome back to "The Everyday Life Balance Show." I am your host, Pascale Gibon, here to illuminate your path to balance and self-discovery. Today, in Episode 334, we embark on the journey of identifying the hidden stressors in our lives to navigate our way towards tranquillity and harmony. Join me as we delve into the art of living with ease amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Now, I want to share with you three ways you can identify the stressors in your life. I call this principle Identifying The Invisible Currents. Listen to Your Body Whispers: Let us begin by tuning into our bodies, the silent communicators of our well-being. It is important to recognize subtle physical signs of stress to identify their impact on your health. These subtle signs could be a sudden headache, a restless night, or an inexplicable tension in the neck and shoulders – these are often the body's way of signalling overload. Observe Your Emotional Ebb and Flow: Here, we explore the emotional landscapes shaped by stress. As you grow in self-awareness, learn how to detect shifts in your mood and what they reveal about your stress levels. To do so, I recommend you take a moment to reflect daily on your emotional state. Is there an underlying current of stress colouring your mood? Audit Your Daily Habits: Our daily routines are crucial in helping us identify the factors that cause us stress. Auditing your habits to uncover sources of stress hidden in your everyday activities is essential. The relentless pursuit of deadlines, spending our time rushing, juggling between personal and professional commitments, keeping the mind busy all the time or even the constant bombardment of digital notifications can be sources of stress. What habits or routines in your day contribute to feelings of pressure or exhaustion? The second principle I want to share is charting a course to calm waters, in other words, inviting serenity and harmony. Here are five powerful ways to invite serenity and harmony into your life: Set Boundaries, Set Sail: Setting boundaries is powerful to navigate the demands in our lives without compromising peace. Learn to say no to commitments that overload your vessel. Remember, every 'no' to stress is a 'yes' to your well-being. Anchor in Mindfulness: Introducing mindfulness practices will help anchor you amidst life's storms, bringing clarity and calm to your mind. Practices like meditation, deep breathing, or simply spending a moment in nature can centre our thoughts and calm the turbulent seas of our minds. Navigate with Self-Care: Self-care plays a crucial role as the fuel for your journey. It is essential to integrate self-care into your daily life. Whether you indulge in a hobby, enjoy a warm bath, or savour a cup of tea in silence, find what replenishes your spirit and make it a sacred part of your journey. Seek the Horizon with Gratitude: As you know, I am a big proponent of Gratitude. I invite you every year to "The Gratitude Experiment. " By focusing on the blessings in our lives, we shift our perspective from what stresses us to what blesses us. Start or end your day by listing three things you are grateful for. It is astonishing how this simple practice can illuminate your path, transform your perspective and guide you towards serenity. Enhance Your Compass of Communication: Sometimes, the weight of our worries can be lightened by sharing them. Whether it is confiding in a trusted friend or seeking the guidance of a mentor or therapist, voicing our stressors can help disentangle them. Opening up about your stressors can provide relief and clarity, fostering a deeper connection with yourself and others. Conclusion: To conclude, in the vast ocean of life, you are the captain of your ship. By identifying your stressors or sources of stress and cultivating practices that promote peace and balance, you can navigate your way towards a harmonious and fulfilling life. Remember, each step taken towards understanding and managing stress is a step towards regaining control over your journey, enabling you to navigate life currents with greater ease. Thank you for joining me on this journey towards serenity. I look forward to continuing our journey together in the next episode of "The Everyday Life Balance Show." Until then, keep striving for balance, seek moments of tranquillity, and remember to listen to the whispers of your body and soul. I am sending you lots of love and light and wishing you a peaceful journey.

I am your host, Pascale Gibon, and it is with great joy and a touch of nostalgia that I welcome you to episode 321 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. Today, we celebrate the completion of our Gratitude Experiment. While Week 7 marks the end of this series, we celebrate the beginning of an enduring gratitude practice in our daily lives. If you have just joined us or missed some episodes, let me guide you through the transformative gratitude journey we have embarked on together. Week 1 - Unlocking Gratitude and Happiness: In week 1, I explained the psychological benefits of gratitude on our well-being, discovering how positive emotions like joy and contentment can enhance our emotional health. The challenge was acknowledging the simple joys and daily miracles by listing ten things you are grateful for. Week 2 - Deepening Gratitude Through Relationships: In week 2, we explored gratitude in our relationships, both the supportive and challenging ones. The focus was to recognise the growth and development these connections foster, even amidst conflicts. Week 3 - Harvesting Hope Drawing inspiration from Nelson Mandela and Albert Einstein, we explored how gratitude can be a beacon of hope and a tool to appreciate life's blessings. Week 3 exercise was to count your blessings, big and small. Week 4 - Mindful Gratitude: In week 4, we delved into the practice of mindful gratitude, appreciating and being fully present in our surroundings. The challenge was to observe and appreciate the often unnoticed beauty around us, transforming our perception of everyday life. Week 5 - Adopting an Attitude of Gratitude: This week was an invitation to a daily practice of gratitude, integrating this powerful emotion into every aspect of our lives. Week 6 - Journaling for the Mind: We discovered the numerous benefits of writing, particularly journaling, on our minds. Journaling strengthens neuro-pathways and adds depth to our gratitude experience. If you have been with us through this journey, I invite you now to take a moment to reflect: How has practising gratitude transformed your perspectives and life? Notice any changes in your attitude, emotions, and overall experience. Guided Gratitude Meditation: To deepen our experience even more, now, let's engage in a Gratitude Meditation: Find a comfortable sitting position. Take three deep breaths to relax your shoulders, back, body and mind. Breathe in deeply and breathe out slowly. Take a moment to reconnect with your body, mindfully release any area of tension. Now, focus on your heart. Take a deep breath in and out. As you relax, feel gratitude for your physical well-being and send light to every cell in your body. Now, take another deep breath and be mindful of your surroundings, the wonderful people in your life and the preciousness of the breath of life. And remember, a deep breath can restore balance whenever you feel overwhelmed. Gratitude is more than a practice; it's a pathway to uplift our spirits. Spread the joy of gratitude to your loved ones, relationships, and communities. To summarise, the 7 Steps of Gratitude are: Choose your modality: meditation, prayer, journaling, or speaking out loud. Include challenging relationships in your gratitude list, acknowledging their contribution to your growth. Remember, in tough times, gratitude is your glimmer of hope. Live mindfully, observing and appreciating the beauty around you. Cultivate an attitude of gratitude daily; start each day with a grateful heart. Write in a gratitude journal to deepen your experience. Be grateful for the breath of life. I am so grateful and honoured to have guided you on this journey. Thank you for your participation and commitment. I look forward to connecting with you next Monday. As we approach the holiday season, I celebrate your growth and wish you a wonderful Christmas break. Live your life with power and harmony, and remember, gratitude is the key to a fulfilling life. Sending you an abundance of light and love.

This is week 6 of our Gratitude Experiment. As we near the end of this series, I am excited to delve into a topic close to my heart and beneficial to our minds and brains. I am Pascale Gibon, your host, and I am delighted to share with you episode 320. In the past weeks, we have immersed ourselves in practising gratitude, each step revealing more of its transformative power. In this episode, let's explore the magic of writing and journaling, not just as a means of expression but as a profound tool for enhancing our mental well-being. The positive effects of writing on the brain are well-documented and fascinating. When we engage in writing, particularly handwriting, we activate a unique neural circuit. Research shows that this activation stimulates brain areas involved in thinking, language, and working memory. Writing or translating thoughts into words provides a workout for our brains. It enhances cognitive efficiency, allowing us to process our thoughts and emotions more effectively. Indeed, writing impacts our cognitive functions in several ways: The process of writing encourages us to organise our thoughts and feelings. It can help us make sense of our emotions and experiences, leading to greater clarity and understanding. Writing can be liberating for some. Journaling about what we are grateful for can lead to a significant increase in optimism. The reflection required for writing helps us focus on the positive aspects of our lives, pushing negative thoughts to the periphery. Regularly writing down our grateful thoughts can enhance emotional intelligence by helping us process and understand our deeper emotions. And lastly, the creative aspect of writing can be a mental stimulant. It encourages us to see things from different perspectives and can lead to innovative ways of thinking and problem-solving. When we take pen to paper to express our gratitude, we engage in a deeply personal and introspective task that has numerous benefits for the mind. Journaling, especially about gratitude, contributes to improving our problem-solving abilities. Furthermore, writing can be a meditative act. The focus required to form words and sentences leads to mindfulness and a calm mind. This calming effect can lower stress and anxiety levels and promote a happier and more harmonious mental state. This week's challenge is simple yet powerful: begin a Gratitude Journal if you have not already. I suggest you spend, every day, a few minutes writing down three things that sparked gratitude in your heart. Observe how this habit can improve both your mental agility and emotional health. The magic of maintaining a Gratitude Journal goes beyond the narrative we create on the pages. It is in the neural pathways we strengthen each time we reflect on our day's blessings. Regularly expressing gratitude in writing can lead, over time, to increased emotional resilience and an overall sense of well-being. As we continue to nurture our gratitude, let us also cherish the clarity and joy that writing brings to our minds. Tune in next week for the final episode of our Gratitude Experiment, where we will reflect on our journey and look forward to the continued growth and happiness that gratitude brings. Until then, let your words be a vessel for your gratitude, and may your journal become a treasured map of your journey towards a happier and healthier mind. I am grateful for your company on this journey and send you lots of light and love.

I am Pascale Gibon, and I am delighted to have you with us for episode 319. Receive my heartfelt thank you for tuning in. I hope you found some joy in last week's mindful gratitude challenge. There is something quite magical about the simplicity of nature's symphony, isn't there? Just the other morning, a bird singing on my balcony became a symphony of gratitude for me. Such simple pleasures remind us of the abundance that surrounds us daily. For centuries, the greatest minds – scientists, philosophers, and teachers – have concurred on a profound truth: we become what we think about. This transformative thought is at the heart of our Gratitude Experiment. Over the past four weeks, as you have practised daily gratitude, Have you noticed a shift in your perception? How has this shaped your internal and external worlds? Earl Nightingale, in "The Strangest Secret," touched upon this. He suggested you become what you think about. In other words, the richness of our internal state can directly influence the life we lead. This philosophy brings us to the cornerstone of this episode: building an attitude of gratitude. It is not just about being thankful but cultivating a mindset that consistently acknowledges and appreciates the good in our lives. When we nurture gratitude, we pave the way for positive thinking and living, setting the stage for goodness to flourish in every aspect of our existence. Tony Robbins, an influential voice in personal development, once said: "When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears." Let us ponder that for a moment. Gratitude is not merely a pleasant state of mind. It is a powerful force that can dissolve fear, opening doors to abundance and possibilities we might overlook otherwise. This week's challenge is about embracing an attitude of gratitude, not sporadically, but as a constant, vibrant thread woven through the fabric of our daily lives. By doing so, we attract abundance, not because we seek it, but because we acknowledge and appreciate what we already have. As a result, we invite more abundance into our lives. So, as we embark on this week's journey, I invite you to find one thing every day that you can be profoundly grateful for and reflect on how this simple act influences your day, your mindset, and your life. For me, it is the gift of life itself. What about you? Join me next week as we continue our exploration of the transformative power of gratitude. Until then, embrace your attitude of gratitude and watch as your life unfolds in even more remarkable ways. Stay blessed, live with gratitude, and remember that the more thankful you are, the more abundant your life becomes. By the way, Master Co is doing a 31 Days of Gratitude, Meditation Challenge to celebrate the blessings in our lives. I highly recommend you join to deepen your gratitude experience. Just go to www.masterco.org/31daysofgratitude. Have a fantastic week. I am sending you an abundance of love and positive energy. Let it uplift and guide you in all that you do.

Welcome back to our enriching journey with The Gratitude Experiment. I am Pascale Gibon, your guide on this path of discovery and joy. Thank you for tuning in to episode 318 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. A spirit of gratitude reminds us to be mindful. In this episode, we will explore the harmonious blend of mindfulness and gratitude, focusing on the beauty surrounding us. As we continue this transformative journey, our theme this week is to be profoundly mindful of our environment by observing and appreciating the beauty surrounding us daily. According to Jon Kabat-Zinn: "Mindfulness is the awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally.” Let me share a personal experience with you. When I cycle through the serene Hyde Park in London, my heart swells with gratitude. I am captivated by the way sunlight dances through the tree leaves, the sight of people joyfully exercising, and the exuberant playfulness of dogs. These moments, seemingly fleeting, are, in fact, deeply regenerative. They remind me to pause, breathe, and rejoice in the beauty of my surroundings. Amy Colette once said: “Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It's the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul.” How true these words ring! The more I immerse myself in gratitude, the more beauty unveils itself to me. It is a conscious choice. We often hear how negative news tend to dominate the headlines, selling more papers than positive stories. But here, in our space, I want to inspire a shift – a belief that positivity breeds more positivity. It invites reflecting on the universal law that our external reality mirrors our internal thoughts. The more grateful you are, the more happiness radiates in and around you. It is like being in communion with greatness itself. Now, let us delve a bit deeper. Mindfulness in gratitude is not just about acknowledging what is good; it is about fully experiencing it with all our senses. It is about being present in the moment, feeling the breeze, hearing the laughter, seeing the colours, and understanding that these are not just fleeting moments but essential parts of our lives that deserve our full attention and appreciation. In this episode, let us explore together: How to cultivate mindfulness in daily life to enhance our gratitude. Simple mindfulness exercises can help us connect more deeply with our surroundings. Stories and insights on how a mindful approach to gratitude can transform our perception of the world. I also invite you to join me in a weekly challenge. This week, take a moment each day to thoroughly observe and appreciate one aspect of your surroundings that you usually overlook. For example, you could be mindful of the sky high above, the sound of birds early in the morning, or how light plays across your room. Share your experiences with me in our Facebook private group, Awaken Your Authentic Self Community. Let us inspire each other with our discoveries. As we conclude this episode, remember that gratitude and mindfulness are partners in this dance of life. They invite us to slow down, savour, and be truly present in our lives. Let this mindful gratitude practice open your eyes to the endless beauty of life. Thank you for joining me on this journey. Stay tuned for our next episode, where we continue exploring the wonders and power of gratitude. Remember, when you say yes! to love, you say yes! to life. Have a fantastic week filled with mindful gratitude, and remember to embrace the beauty around you. Lots of love and light to you.

A warm welcome to Week 3 of The Gratitude Experiment. Thank you for joining episode 317 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. I'm your host Pascale Gibon. To all our American listeners, Happy Thanksgiving week! May this holiday be a joyful time with your loved ones and friends. It is easy to lose sight of gratitude when hope seems distant, but I urge you to reconsider its power. Let us draw inspiration from an excerpt about human nature and hope from Nelson Mandela's biography. Despite the harsh reality of his imprisonment, Nelson Mandela saw hope and humanity. He believed in the inherent mercy and generosity in every human heart, a belief that sustained him even in the darkest times. Here is the extract: “I always knew that deep down in every human heart, there was mercy and generosity. Men's goodness is a flame that can be hidden but never extinguished.” Nelson Mandela's resilient heart is a testament to choosing hope and gratitude in the face of adversity. Imagine how different his experience might have been if he had succumbed to hatred or resentment. His ability to see the light, even in the grimmest circumstances, is a powerful lesson in gratitude. Gratitude is your glimmer of hope and your heartfelt expression of appreciation. As we reflect on Mandela's wisdom, this week, let us embrace the magic of reinvention and creation. Albert Einstein famously said: “Imagination is more powerful than knowledge.” Each day brings the opportunity to reshape our lives through our creative power. As you gather with family and friends for Thanksgiving, share a moment of love by seeing the light in each other. I invite you to engage in a meaningful practice: count your blessings from a place of gratitude. Ask yourself, what blessings have enriched your life? Then reflect on how acknowledging these blessings makes you feel. As you build the habit of daily gratitude you grow a loving heart. Henry Ward Beecher beautifully said: “Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul” In our first week, we explored remembering the love we have received. ---------------- SHOW NOTES ---------------- Episode Title: Episode 316: The Gift Of Gratitude - Week 2 Of The Gratitude Experiment – 7 Weeks Of Gratitude Introduction In the second instalment of the 7-week series on "The Everyday Life Balance Show," Pascale invites listeners to deepen their gratitude practice. Moving beyond the foundational step of acknowledging received love, this episode prompts a reflective and, perhaps, transformative journey into the more complex territories of gratitude. Pascale encourages listeners to explore and appreciate not just the pleasant and supportive relationships but also those challenging ones that provoke growth and personal development. With a focus on consistency in practice, this episode is an invitation to embrace gratitude as a habit that can profoundly influence one's life. Key Points The essence of this week's gratitude practice is to recognize and be thankful for the influential people in one's life, including: - Those who provide support, kindness, and joy. - Individuals who pose challenges or with whom one has conflicts, as they serve as unintended teachers. Pascale shares a personal narrative to illustrate how unmet needs and expectations in relationships can lead to conflict, and subsequently, emotional growth. Key concepts and actions introduced in the episode: - The importance of shifting from a self-centred perspective to one of understanding others. - Embracing forgiveness as a means to "forward love" and to clear negative emotions. - The act of forgiveness is a way to gain clarity and see through the lens of love. The episode's high-value action is to create a gratitude list that includes: - People who have supported you. - Those with whom you have had conflicts, recognizing the growth they have facilitated. Pascale Gibon stresses the importance of expressing gratitude, referencing William Arthur Ward's quote about the necessity of sharing one's gratitude with others. Encouragement to express gratitude to significant others, especially those who might not yet know their impact on you. An overarching message that saying "Yes!" to love and gratitude is akin to embracing the fullness of life. The episode concludes with an invitation to continue the gratitude journey the following week, reinforcing the importance of gratitude in enhancing life's quality and elevating one's spirit. Many thanks for your support. With love and gratitude. Pascale --------------------- FULL TRANSCRIPT --------------------- Hi, and welcome to episode 316 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. As we venture into week 2 of our 7-week journey into gratitude, I remain your devoted guide, Pascale Gibon. I am grateful to you. Thank you for choosing to spend your time with me today. Reflect, for a moment, on the past week: how did you embody the essence of gratitude? Our initial step on week 1 was to recognize all the love we receive, which you may find challenging amidst the busyness of daily life. Perhaps your biggest challenge is consistency. However, this experiment is about more than fleeting moments of thanks. It is about cultivating a sustained practice of gratitude that can transform your life as you increase the energy of love. This week, we delve into the heart of gratitude by contemplating a poignant question: Who are the people you are most grateful for this year? Naturally, you will think of the people who have offered support, kindness and joy. And while it matters to acknowledge them, I invite you to consider a more profound reflection: gratitude for those who have challenged you the most. Yes, I am talking about the individuals with whom you have had disagreements or conflicts. They have inadvertently become your best teachers who have helped you grow through adversity. Let's explore this together with a personal anecdote: Most conflictual relationships are due to feeling that our needs are unmet. More specifically, we expect someone to behave in a certain way, and if they don't, we get disappointed. Picture someone you have clashed with - perhaps there was disagreement, or their presence simply unsettled you. This conflict might have stirred feelings of anger or frustration. In these emotionally charged moments, we find the opportunity to shift our perspective, to understand rather than be understood. You see, in such moments, we seek to be understood, whilst the shift of perception, to understand first, requires us to step beyond our ego (E.G.O stands for Edging God Out) to embody compassion and embrace the transformative power of forgiveness. Forgiveness is the essence of forwarding love or giving love forward. By choosing to be grateful for the growth spurred by conflict, you release the hold of negative emotions and begin to see the world with newfound clarity. Only in Love can you see clearly. As you compile your gratitude list, I urge you to include those with whom you had a conflict and thank them silently or out loud for the lessons, the wisdom they imparted and the opportunity to grow in the energy of love. Remember the words of William Arthur Ward: “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” Now is the moment to extend your thanks and to share the gift of your gratitude. Perhaps there is a parent, a friend or a mentor who has yet to hear just how much they mean to you. Let them know. Let love be your message. In this episode, I intend to help you deepen the understanding and expression of gratitude in relationships, even the difficult ones. As we conclude this episode, I implore you to embrace love in all its forms, for when you say yes! to love, you say yes! to the full spectrum of life. Your high-value action for this week is to acknowledge those you hold dear. And as you do, witness how gratitude enriches your life and lifts your spirit. I look forward to connecting with you next Monday, for week 3 of The Gratitude Experiment. Until then, I wish you a fantastic week of gratitude and send you lots of love and light.

Pascale --------------------- FULL TRANSCRIPT --------------------- I listened to a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey on her latest book on happiness: “Build The Life You Want” and, in the interview, she said that the first thing she does in the morning is to say thank you. The Japanese “Happy Money Mentor”, Ken Honda, swears by setting the intention of saying thank you each time we spend and receive money to improve our relationship with it. I am so excited to begin week 1 of The Gratitude Experiment - 7 weeks of gratitude. Hi, I'm your host Pascale Gibon. Welcome to episode 315 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. If you want an interactive experience, please join my private group on Facebook: “Awaken Your Authentic Self Community” to share your experiences, thoughts and gratitude moments with like-minded community members. Gratitude is part of my life and my spiritual practice. I cannot stress enough the importance of gratitude in our lives. We acknowledge something bigger than us, operating all the time for our highest good, as well as the people in our lives we can call our angels. My intention with The Gratitude Experiment is to help you make gratitude a daily habit. As you know, I am the author of the Amazon bestseller Yes! To Love and gratitude is an expression of love. A gratitude practice aligns with living a life of love. It is a valuable tool to improve your overall quality of life due to its positive effects on your mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. If you wonder why gratitude matters so much, here are the invaluable and proven benefits of gratitude on our mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. Numerous studies have shown that practising gratitude reduces depression and anxiety, promoting overall psychological well-being. You can enhance your emotional well-being with gratitude since you activate and optimize positive emotions like joy, happiness and contentment. Do you know that a regular gratitude practice is associated with greater life satisfaction, fostering a positive outlook? Gratitude helps you cope with stress and buffers the impact of life's challenges. So, next time, what is the first thing you will do when faced with a challenge? Gratitude builds resilience, enabling us to bounce back from negative experiences. Neuroscientific research indicates measurable positive effects on the brain regions related to social bonding, empathy, and emotional processing. Gratitude strengthens social bonds and relationships, creating a positive cycle of reciprocity. Another key benefit is the link between gratitude and higher levels of self-esteem. Recognizing and appreciating your strengths contributes to a positive self-image. What about the effect of gratitude in the workplace? Gratitude improves workplace relationships, job satisfaction, and overall well-being. It is also worth noting the long-term effect of gratitude. Longitudinal studies suggest enduring positive effects with regular gratitude practice over time. Let's talk now about the gratitude practices: There are various ways we can express gratitude, and here are my recommendations: I recommend adopting the gratitude practice that works best for you. · Journaling is a common gratitude practice. I hold a gratitude journal. It works best for people who find writing down their thoughts therapeutic. For example, in my gratitude journal, I do four things: I write down three things I am grateful for, Reflect on yesterday, Define my self-care goals and Create an affirmation for the day. My Gratitude Journal assists me in maintaining a positive attitude throughout the day. · Gratitude could be in the form of a prayer or during your meditation. · Or you could say out loud what you are grateful for. So let's do this! Let's increase our gratitude this week by deepening our love and faith. As we go through together the seven weeks of gratitude, I will share each week: 1. A focused idea related to gratitude, 2. A high-value action step you need to take to apply that idea and 3. A quote on gratitude for reflection. Gratitude is the starting point of happiness. As we acknowledge God's grace and the love given by others, we open our hearts. For the success of the Gratitude Experiment, I invite you to drop into your heart and open your heart to love. Love is our salvation, and in times of doubt, disappointment, anger and despair, this is the place you need to go back to. Love could be for you, the Source, the Creator, God or a Higher Power. Commit today to play full-on as you take part in the experiment. Take a deep breath into your heart centre, in the middle of your chest, and your physical heart, and align your thinking with abundance as you say thank you from the depth of your heart over seven weeks. The way you express grace is as follows: “I am so happy and grateful for … For example: “I am so happy and grateful for my family.” “I am so happy and grateful for the breath of life.” “I am so happy and grateful for my health.” There may be things in your life you are dissatisfied with. However, it matters too not to take things for granted and to remember all the love you receive every day. Your mission this week is to be consciously grateful for the simple things in life. Your gratefulness includes the little miracles that occur daily. As a starting point on your gratitude journey, your high-value action this week is to list every day ten simple things in your life you are grateful for. You can write them in your journal or notes every day. For example, it could be the food you eat, someone smiling at you on the street, a stroll in the park, the sun shining brightly, or the breath of life. As you are thankful for the simple things in life, you uplift your energy to one of appreciation and positivity and look at life with fondness. Enhance your well-being and relationships by cultivating gratitude daily. Remember: “When you say yes! to love, you say yes! to life.” Gratitude is a notable well-being enhancer. The more grateful you are, the more blessings you attract when you align with the energy of appreciation. What are the ten simple things you are most grateful for? I am excited to connect with you next Monday to share Week 2 of The Gratitude Experiment. Please do share this episode with the person in your life who would greatly benefit from it. Have a fantastic week of gratitude, take care and lots of love and light.
................................. FULL TRANSCRIPT ................................. Discover The Eighth Principle Taken From The Yes To Love Philosophy To Overcome Life's Challenges With Ease Hi I'm Pascale Gibon. Welcome to episode 284 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. Thank you for tuning in and following our series on the Yes! to Love principles taken from the Yes! to Love philosophy. The principle I will share in this episode is so relevant in today's world. Indeed, the eighth Yes! to Love Principle is to be and live in the now. This eighth principle matters because we live in a world where we are constantly reactive to sources of distraction. The distractions I refer to are primarily our mobile phones, social media platforms, video games, internet browsing, television, 24-hour news cycles and current events. Have you ever been in a situation where you were unwilling to be separated from your mobile phone for one hour just in case…? Have you ever found yourself unable to hold a focused conversation with your partner or a friend because you are distracted by a post on a social media platform? And you have to read now…? Have you ever found yourself checking your emails upon waking up and starting your day by being reactive? Sometimes, we are unaware of what we do habitually, which stops us from being and living in the now. The sense of FOMO or Fear Of Missing Out gets in the way of mindful living. Social media platforms exacerbate FOMO. For example, if we don't get this or that now we might feel we miss out on something big. FOMO gives us a sense of constant dissatisfaction. It is not a question of having more for the sake of it. It is a question of having more of what you actually need. Therefore to be in the now, you need to ask yourself this question: do I need that course or this new purchase etc.? Mindfulness is being present in the moment and cultivating non-judgmental awareness of your thoughts and feelings. What is mindful living, and why is it important when we want to live in the energy of love? Mindful living is a way of appreciating what is in the present moment. It is a way of life that celebrates the present moment. We are not rushing but observing, absorbing and appreciating what is. I found myself in this situation last year where I failed to be mindful of the present moment. It was like I was roller skating and did not know how to stop. As a solopreneur, and some of you might relate, I was pushing and pushing, oblivious of what was happening around me. It felt like I could not get my head out of the water to catch my breath and get some air. This experience was not what we call keeping in balance. Hustling did not feel natural because it felt as if I was suffocating. Consequently, I sensed I needed to step back and refocus on the present moment. I refocused on what mattered the most, to enjoy the moment, and I regained a sense of excitement about my life. You can listen to my experience in episode 251 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. Living in the past is another way of escaping from the present moment. When we live in the past, it is usually with a sense of regret over what was, what did not happen back then or what we did not achieve. Therefore, we bring problems from the past into our present reality, and this habit causes suffering. One process you can learn is how to let go of the habit of living in the past that does not serve you to live a harmonious life. A powerful way I have found to let go of any regret you may have is to make peace with what was or did not happen. Since you cannot relive and change the past, letting go of things beyond your control is liberating. There is joy in the present moment. Appreciate more what is and your interactions with others with a deep sense of being present during your conversations. There is joy in seeing beauty in others and your environment. There is joy in appreciating the simple breath of life. There is joy in feeling alive again. You are responsible for your human experience. Each moment is precious and filled with gratitude and appreciation for life itself, for life is a gift. Here are seven ways you can incorporate mindfulness into your daily life if you find being and living in the now challenging: Breath awareness Breath awareness involves focusing on your breath as it goes in and out. Whenever your mind wanders, gently bring it back to your breath. This exercise is potent because our breath is usually shallow, particularly in moments of stress. Mindful breathing helps us appreciate the breath of life. What you do here is reconnect with your breath by breathing in deeply and out slowly with the added intention of releasing and relaxing. 2. Body scan It involves paying attention to each part of your body. You start from the top of your head and move down to your toes. As you scan your body, notice any sensations or tension in each area. Release any tension by relaxing some more. I often do the body scan exercise. It is an effective mind-body reconnection that works. 3. Walking meditation I like this exercise because it brings your environment into your awareness. It involves walking slowly and mindfully, paying attention to the physical sensations of each step and your surroundings. 4. Mindful eating Mindful eating involves paying attention to the taste, texture, and smell of your food as you eat it and the physical sensations of hunger and fullness. Where are my listeners who tend to gulp down their food and often check their mobile phones when they eat? I know most of us have this bad habit. If so, this exercise will work for you and help you be more present. 5. Gratitude practice I talk intensively about gratitude. I shall remind you that gratitude is the foundation of the Yes! to Love philosophy. To participate in "The Gratitude Experiment:" 7 weeks of gratitude, you can listen to episodes 222 to 229 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. I also recommend episode 283 of the Yes! to Love principles series. The gratitude practice involves taking time each day to focus on things you are grateful for, which can help cultivate a sense of appreciation for the present moment. A gratitude practice can be something you do first thing in the morning. You journal or reflect on 10 things you are grateful for in life. It can also be an evening practice whereby you reflect on how grateful you are for the day you had. The gratitude practice can also become a ritual whereby you appreciate mindfully, and at any time, all the goodness that manifests in your life. 6. Mindful listening Mindful listening involves actively listening to another person, without judgment or distraction, to fully understand their perspective. This practice requires a high level of concentration, understanding and compassion. 7. Smile more Finally, I want to share one additional mindfulness exercise. It is to smile more. Science shows that smiling reduces stress as it releases endorphins, which are natural painkillers and mood enhancers. It can also boost our immune system, improve our mood, lower our blood pressure and enhance our social interactions as it brings happiness and friendliness to others. A smile is worth a million words. It brings you to the present moment and makes you feel happier. Do not live life blindfolded: love, observe and appreciate. I hope you enjoyed this episode. Remember, now is your time to transform your life one step at a time. To conclude, being and living in the now stops us from worrying about the future and helps us enjoy the present more. It is a sign of appreciation for life itself. If you feel that you are easily distracted, stressed out or living in the past, I recommend you experiment with the seven mindfulness exercises I have shared to see which ones work best for you. I look forward to connecting with you next Monday. Have a fantastic week, take good care and lots of love. Got a question for Pascale? Click here to connect. ………………………. FREE RESOURCES ………………………. In this season of gratitude we've come to realize one thing...that gratitude is more fulfilling when we put effort into it. We experimented with gratitude journals and mindfulness, and are ready to share the impacts. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
................................. FULL TRANSCRIPT ................................. Self-love is the fastest path to self-healing, and it is not always easy if you are a perfectionist. Hi, I'm pascale Gibon. Welcome to episode 237 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. I created this series on self-love for perfectionists. I know how you feel, how you always strive to do your best and expect everything to be perfect. I remember my Reiki teacher saying, during my Reiki training, that a perfectionist always looks for imperfections. To constantly seek faults in everything is a disadvantage and a habit that you can improve. I believe that a perfectionist seeks imperfections outside of themselves because they are uncomfortable with their imperfections. Perfectionists are hard on themselves, so they struggle with self-love because they are never satisfied or happy with their performance and who they are. Nothing they do or how they view themselves is ever good enough because they do not believe they are enough. As you know, nothing is perfect. If you seek imperfections in everything and yourself, you have probably lost yourself. I intend to help you rekindle your truth throughout this series on self-love. I revealed in episode 234 that there are various dimensions to love. I will cover in this new series an essential and fast path to healing which is self-love. During our time together, pay close attention. I will share over 7 episodes some of the obstacles to self-love. Those obstacles stop you from moving forward and getting inner peace and happiness. I will give you actionable tools to overcome the barriers to self-love. Now let us have some fun! Self-love is an essential healing process to help you get unstuck confidently and boost your self-esteem. You have probably lost yourself on the journey of life. This self-love series will help you bounce back as you do the inner work. From my experience as an energy healer, I know that the faster way to inner peace and freedom is love. In other words, the more you lean on the energy of love, the more you fuel your love, the more you feel free and at peace. One of the prerequisites for life fulfilment is self-love. I remember a famous actor sharing his life story. He had fame and money, but something was missing. What was lacking was inner happiness. The lack of inner happiness affected his relationships and a real sense of fulfilment. The concept of self-love is not something new. It was already written and talked about in Ancient Greek, and in Taoism in China in the 4th and 3rd centuries BCE. In modern terms, self-love is a state of appreciation for oneself that grows from actions that support our physical, psychological and spiritual growth. Self-love means having a high regard for your well-being and happiness. Socrates maintained that our true self is our soul. I agree that you can deepen your love when you become aware that your true self is your soul. Therefore, self-love is not futile, for it serves a higher purpose. Since the highest form of love is to give, the more you love what you see in yourself, the more you give and help others. In addition, I believe that it will come naturally to you when you decide to give more love. For me, self-love is acknowledging my greatness and loving my uniqueness so that I can be of use, serve my higher power, give more and shine my light. The first obstacle to self-love I want to share today is a negative self-image or a lack of compassion towards oneself. A negative self-image or a lack of compassion rings true specifically true for perfectionists. This tendency could come from a parent having high expectations or their character trait expects a lot from themselves. I know How it feels, I used to struggle with perfection. I used to because now I can notice the signs when I follow that road and can pull back quickly. Why does perfection accentuate a lack of self-love? Do you tend to fall into the perfectionist trap, whereby nothing is ever good enough? I know that you strive for excellence. Do you, for example, have this inner dialogue: you do something it's good enough. Then you look back and think I should have done this and that better. I agree that there is always room for improvement, however, what matters the most is the awareness you gain. You need to allow some space for failure otherwise there is no growth and progress. The trap is analysis paralysis because one of the perfectionist's biggest fear is failure. When you procrastinate and have a task at hand done is better than perfect. And good is good enough. Perfectionism becomes an addiction to become better if it is disguised as the fear of getting anything started. Are you stuck in this spiral of looking for imperfections all the time and declaring that nothing is ever good enough? If so, I believe this applies to the way you view yourself too. If perfection is essential to you, you expect yourself to be perfect or do things perfectly all the time, and this attitude can be paralysing. You forever loathe yourself and the things you do wrong and never appreciate enough the things you do right. Modern society seems to focus more on what is wrong than what is right. The media also emphasize picture-perfect, which is detrimental if you have low self-esteem. This results in an inferiority complex like: “If I don't look like that it means I am inferior or not good enough.” Self-love is an inside-out, not an outside-in job. In other words, it is something you need to develop from within. The tool to combat the build-up of a negative self-image is to start growing in compassion towards yourself. Perfectionists tend to beat themselves up because they believe they are not good enough and nothing is ever good enough. A growth mindset that seeks self-development and improvement is different from a never satisfied mindset. Yes, we can improve, and compassion toward oneself means feeling satisfied. It is ok if it is good enough and you are enough. Building a strong and positive self-image or identity, which is a transformation from within, is the fastest way to transform your life so that you can live a more fulfilling life. To increase your self-love you need more self-compassion. Begin with starting to catch what is right instead of what is wrong all the time. Appreciate yourself and others more. Count your blessings with an attitude of gratitude. If gratitude is not part of your daily practice, start today to practise gratitude. Should you need more help developing an attitude of gratitude, you have access to The Gratitude Experiment - 7 Weeks Of Gratitude Series, which starts from episode 222. You might have high standards for yourself, but you need to start somewhere and eliminate your perfectionist trait if it becomes debilitating. Let me take the example of a mother who has to multi-task and feels guilty because she does not get everything done. She feels that she fails her family because she is a perfectionist. This attitude creates suffering. A better solution is to adopt the principle that good is good enough. This solution means recognising the signs when you are a perfectionist and adjusting your thinking to the idea that 'good is good enough.' You will be surprised by your results when you start correcting your thinking. Here are the tools you need to improve your self-image or create a strong identity: Focus on what is right and great about you. Stop looking for imperfections. Begin to appreciate yourself more by asking yourself this transformative question and keep the good enough concept in mind: What do I love about myself? We all have qualities, and if you struggle with this, you can ask a family member, friend or colleague for help. Instead of putting yourself down, start to experience and acknowledge your victories and successes. This will boost your confidence and give you a sense of satisfaction and well-being. Practise the habit of praising yourself more and rewarding yourself each time you experience a victory. You are great! And like Les Brown says “There is greatness within you.” Whenever someone praises you, practise the habit of receiving their praise with joy and an open heart. The more you practise self-compassion to build a strong self-image and identity, the more it will become second nature. My action-based process for self-healing is my Liberated Heart Formula. I invite you, to get started and download my free report “YES! TO Love Success Habits – 7 Steps To Inner Peace, Joy and Happiness" where I break down the seven steps you need for peace in mind and peace of mind. Please go to Pascale Gibon.com. ................................. FULL TRANSCRIPT ................................. We are only a few days away from the new year. In this episode, we are going to do two things: Celebrate the end of 2021 to welcome the new year. End this year with Week 6 of The Gratitude Experiment Seven Part Series. Hi, I'm Pascale Gibon and welcome to episode 227 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. Let's celebrate the end of 2021 together. As you know, I equate personal development to evolution and progress. Therefore: What is your biggest takeaway this year? How has your year been? I encourage you to do this assessment process and reflect on the following two questions: What are you willing to bring to the new year? and What do you desire to leave behind? There is a transformational principle you need to assist you with your assessment process: The Law of Cause and Effect. When you observe the law of cause and effect, you recognise that your attitude to life (which is the combination of your thoughts, feelings and actions) is everything. In other words, when you look at your results, in general, this year you are able to assess whether you adopted a great or bad attitude to life. If you did not get good results, I recommend getting the resources you need to change or improve your attitude. You might decide, for example, to let go of some habits which no longer serve you. I recognise where, in my life, I need to improve my attitude. The biggest takeaway for me this year is that less is more. Therefore, I intend to simplify my life dramatically in 2022. What about you? I hope that the episodes this year of The Everyday Life Balance Show have kept you grounded and served you as a great resource to become stronger emotionally, physically and spiritually to create more balance and harmony in your life. As a reminder, here is what I shared with you this year. I put a great emphasis on how to best cope with life changes. Therefore, I shared several episodes on the subject of life transition. In addition, I shared several series, namely: How to Make A Fresh Start Series Journey to Inner Peace Series Secrets to Increasing Your Self Worth I intend to give you the tools and resources you need to build mental strength. As a result, you will feel more empowered and equipped to deal with life's disruptors from the inside out. This is Week 6 of the Gratitude Experiment. I want to remind you that you become what you think about. I firmly believe that the more grateful you are, the more goodness you attract in your life. Research shows that thoughts carry energy: A negative thought carries negative energy. A positive thought carries positive energy. Therefore, to live your life with gratitude is a positive way of living. And developing an attitude of gratitude encourages you to think positively. Tony Robbins said: “When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.” If your life is filled with fear, and you desire a love-based existence and more goodness, start to develop the habit of gratitude daily. Focus on the goodness in everything and everyone. This new perspective will shift your energy and create more positivity in your life. Remember that what you put your energy on grows. Do you remember Nelson Mandela's story I shared in week 3? He was able to see a glimmer of humanity in one of the guards, perhaps for one second in the grimmest times in prison. I am convinced that you too can see a glimmer of hope in your life. I encourage you to attract more goodness in your life by developing an attitude of gratitude even when you feel down. I know you might be saying: "But this or that is happening or nothing is going well." Count your blessings regardless because I am sure you can think of ONE thing you are thankful for. Develop an attitude of gratitude and make it a daily practice. Here is your high-value action step this week to uplift your spirit: Develop an attitude of gratitude to attract more abundance in your life and make it a daily habit. I could not think of a better way to end 2021 than introducing the Gratitude Experiment. I am grateful to you, my listeners and all the wonderful human beings who have been on my path this year. As always, remember that when you say Yes! to love, you say Yes! to life. I wish you a joyful new year's eve celebration with your loved ones, family and friends. I look forward to connecting with you next Monday to welcome the new year. Have a fantastic week of gratitude and celebration. Take good care and lots of love. ………………………. FREE RESOURCES ………………………. ................................. FULL TRANSCRIPT ................................. Hi, it's Pascale. I wish you a Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas this year with your loved ones, family and friends! I am so grateful to you, my listeners. Thank you for taking the time every week to discover how to create more balance and harmony in your life. It's a triple merry this year because I know that times are changing, and change is not always easy to handle straightforwardly. My wish for you is to keep uplifting your spirit despite the circumstances. Welcome to episode 226 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. This is Week 5 of The Gratitude Experiment. How did you get on with week 4 high-value action steps? Let me remind you what they were: 1. Express gratitude to awaken the joy in your heart. 2. Reconnect with what brings you the greatest joy. 3. Be content and mindful of the present moment. In this episode, I want to commemorate someone special. A dear friend, Asa. He is no longer with us. May you rest in peace, dear Asa. Asa loved photography and was a fantastic observer of the beauty in nature. He could capture the moment so well. Additionally, Asa could see the beauty in nature in a way we usually do not look at things because it is so detailed and in places we never think of. His photos always touched my heart. Looking back, he reminded us to have a much closer look at the beauty that surrounds us. Thank you, Asa! Mary Davis said: “The more grateful I am, the more beauty I see.” Your high-value action step to uplift your spirit this week is to be an observer. I want you to see, absorb, appreciate and be grateful for the beauty that surrounds you. Remember that when you say Yes! to love, you say Yes! to life. Again Have a merry merry merry Christmas! I look forward to connecting with you next Monday. Here is Mary Davis' quote again: “The more grateful I am, the more beauty I see.” Have a beautiful week of gratitude and appreciation, take care and lots of love. ………………………. FREE RESOURCES ………………………. ................................. FULL TRANSCRIPT ................................. Hi, welcome to Week 3 of The Gratitude Experiment. I'm Pascale Gibon. Thank you for listening to episode 224 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. As you know The Gratitude Experiment is a 7-week experiment and I am very grateful for your participation. Henry Ward Beecher said: “Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.” This quote on gratitude reminds us to look at life with humility and avoid taking things for granted. Since you are participating in 7 Weeks of Gratitude Experiment 7, let's throw unfairness out of the window and continue to develop a loving heart. I know it can be challenging to be grateful when life seems full of obstacles and things are not going well. Gratitude might be the last thing on your mind. You might feel dispirited right now, discouraged and losing hope. However, can you believe that this too shall pass? The difficulty might be a temporary setback, and you can empower yourself again through the power of love, meditation and prayer. I invite you this week to count your blessings and see a glimmer of light and hope on the horizon. There is a passage that I love in Nelson Mandela's autobiography Long Walk To Freedom that I want to share today: When Nelson Mandela was imprisoned he chose peace. He declared: “I always knew that deep down in every human heart, there was mercy and generosity. Men's goodness is a flame that can be hidden but never extinguished.” Here are your high-value action steps on week 3 of the Gratitude Experiment: Please reflect upon and write down in your journal what being grateful means to you. Count your blessings throughout the week and from now on. I look forward to connecting with you next Monday. Remember when you say YES! TO love you say YES! To life. ................................. FULL TRANSCRIPT ................................. Love is our salvation Love can move mountains Hi, I'm Pascale Gibon and thank you for listening to episode 223 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. This is week 2 of The Gratitude Experiment series. Thank you for participating in this Experiment. The idea behind the Gratitude Experiment is to be consistent for seven weeks as we deepen our love and faith in the power of love through our gratitude. I will cover for seven weeks various ideas regarding gratefulness. Your reflection on week 1 was to be consciously grateful for the simple things in life. The purpose of this exercise was to raise your awareness so that you are more present and appreciative of the simple things in life. How did you get on? >>The focused idea this week is to give the gift of love.
................................. FULL TRANSCRIPT ................................. Hi, I'm Pascale Gibon and welcome to episode 222 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. Thank you for listening. I have decided to do something special over the next seven weeks, which is the Gratitude Experiment. Let's have some fun! I got inspired to do the gratitude experiment back in July and now is a great time to launch it. This week marks Thanksgiving week in the US. Happy Thanksgiving to all our American listeners! It is also my birthday week. So, what is The Gratitude Experiment? It is about developing a daily ritual whereby we acknowledge all the love we have received. One of my friends, Chris, asked me: “Before we start, where should my gratitude be directed?” For me, my gratitude is first and foremost the acknowledgement of God's grace. I love to acknowledge God's grace every day, first thing in the morning and at the end of the day. However, whatever your belief may be, we need to acknowledge and appreciate the love we receive all the time. I call this awakening the joy in your heart. My daily gratitude is directed to God and is heartfelt and sincere gratitude for the breath of life. The more grateful we are, the more we deepen our love and elevate our positive energy. Let's do this experiment to deepen our love through gratitude. Here are your high-value action steps this week: If you already have a gratitude ritual, that's great! Your high-value action step is to deepen your love and faith in love even more. If you do not have a gratitude ritual, now is a great time to get started and integrate this transformative habit into your daily life. I also want you to reflect upon the following quote this week: "Be consciously grateful for the simple things in life." Let's deepen our love throughout the week. When you say yes to love, you say yes to life. If you want to participate in the Gratitude Experiment with me Live, join me every Tuesday at 11 am London time on my Facebook page: pascalegibonfanpage. https://facebook.com/pascalegibonfanpage I look forward to connecting with you next Monday. ................................. FULL TRANSCRIPT ................................. Hi, I'm Pascale Gibon and welcome to episode 221 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. Thank you for listening. The intention I set at the beginning of this year is: to be fully present, peaceful and patient. I must say that the last two commitments to be peaceful and patient have gone very well. However, I still struggle with being fully present. In a world full of distractions, being present is rather challenging, however very much worth it. Besides, it stretches you when you have lots of interests. You tend to jump from one thing to another. Perhaps you can relate. I am letting go of excuses. I will still put being present as one of my intentions for the forthcoming year. This intention brings me to today's topic. >>>Discover One Thing You Need To Do Now Before The Year Ends! You may wonder what it is. The answer is: you need to remember to plan for a successful year ahead of time. You do not need to wait for next year to do this., This applies to you if you are generally a busy bee and have lots of activities going on. Ok. So, where do you start? Now that we are about to reach the end of the year, I think you have, by now, a pretty good idea of how this year has gone for you. I know the year is not over yet, and we still have a few weeks to go. However, now is your time to start planning for a successful year. Whatever a successful year means to you. This process is called intentional living. It means that you design intentionally the best life you desire to live. The majority of people miss the opportunity to plan their year ahead of time. Instead of planning their intentional living NOW, they do it when the year is underway. Being a spur of the moment person, I never used to plan my year ahead of time. I used to wait for the year to start and plan month by month. I have now changed my mind. I consider it essential to plan the forthcoming year now, to save time and energy and clarify what I want to live my best life. Would you agree that time is the only thing we cannot get back? Time flies, and I acknowledge that how I spend my time is very valuable. Therefore instead of wasting time wondering haphazardly what my goals or objectives are, what step I should take next, I find that planning before the year starts is a very efficient way to ensure a successful year. However, it is pretty hard to plan without looking at where you are now and how much you have progressed. I have shared in previous episodes that there are three powerful and controllable ways you can create positive change in your life. Stop doing what does not work Keep doing what works Try something new and see if it works. To plan your year, we will focus on ideas 2 and 3 only. Ideas 2 and 3 are to keep doing what works and start doing something new to see if it works. I want to share this exercise I learnt from the author and strategic coach, Dan Sullivan. When you do this exercise, your main focus is on progress, not perfection. My listeners who are perfectionists will love this because it simplifies things for you. Please get a pen and paper ready and note down the following questions: Question 1: What has worked well for you this year you may call a success? Question 2: Do you want to take further actions in the same direction next year? Question 3: If so, what will be the first action? Question 4: If not, what are your new goals or objectives for the year ahead? You could apply this process Focused Progress to any area of your life: your professional life, personal life, finances, health, impact etc. Let's take the example of reaching your ideal weight. Question 1: What has worked well for you this year you may call success with regard to reaching your ideal weight? It could be that you have regulated your eating habit. You used to eat erratically. Now you eat more regularly and have more energy as a result. Question 2: Do you want to take further actions in the same direction next year? The answer is YES! because it works well for you. Question 3: If so, what will be your first action? Your first action could be to learn how to prepare yummy breakfasts. Therefore you will look for great breakfast recipes. If your answer to question 2 is that you did not want to take further action, you would need to focus on a new goal and objective. Do you like the idea of planning your year intentionally now so that you live your best life? When you have a clear plan, you save time, energy and remain focused and consistent. Without a plan, you are lost in the wilderness and waste a lot of energy working out your next step. Whereas if you lay out your plan well ahead of time, all you need is to follow it and adjust if and when necessary. Take my word for it. If you want to be more efficient next year and enjoy a successful year plan it is now instead of next year. With a plan well laid out, you will only need to focus on progress and success. You will not only have goals or objectives you wish to accomplish and look forward to, but you will also have laid out steps to make your dreams come true. From next week until the end of the year, I will be running The Gratitude Experiment. Living with love includes daily gratitude. To be part of this experience, join us live on Facebook. The link is pascalegibonfanpage. Every Tuesday, I will be going live for seven weeks. Let's connect live tomorrow at 11.00 am London time. I hope you enjoyed today's episode. As always, remember now is Your time to transform your life one step at a time. Do you want to live your best life? Do you want better results next year? If so, if your answer is YES, I encourage you to design intentionally, your best life NOW and follow the exercise I have just shared. I look forward to connecting with you next Monday or tomorrow if you join me live. Take good care, have a fantastic week and lots of love. ………………………. FREE RESOURCES ………………………. Love this? .................... SUMMARY .................... Hi, I'm Pascale Gibon and welcome to episode 204 of The Everyday Life Balance Show. I have something special for you today. Introducing The Gratitude Experiment… The Gratitude Experiment is a practice I invite you to be part of for 30 days and observe what happens and how you feel at the end of it. Being grateful is the attitude of being thankful for all of the goodness, people, events in our life. Most of the time, our general tendency is to blame, shame, judge, compare, envy or criticize. With the prevailing negativity which bombards us daily through the mass media, it is sometimes difficult to see the light. If we are not careful, we can be swayed towards more negativity. The Gratitude Experiment goes against this wave of pessimism and negativity. For the full transcript go to: https://pascalegibon.com/how-to-create-happiness-with-the-gratitude-experiment/ ………………………. How Thoughts Become Things has already set a record for viewership in the first 24 hours or release, surpassing even The Secret. Stepping up to go deeper into the subject are many of the top "Law of Attraction" thought leaders in the world today-- Bob Proctor, Denis Waitley, John Demartini, Joe Vitale, John Assaraf, Marie Diamond, Travis Fox, Dr. Karen Perkins and others-many of whom appeared in film sensation The Secret. This is the first time since that ground-breaking film that these questions have been explored in such detail. Not only does the film reveal the degree to which thoughts may influence our reality, How Thoughts Become Things also exposes several commonly held beliefs that are preventing many from creating the outcomes they most desire. Tune in for this enlightening broadcast at *TalkRadio.nyc* ( https://d38rqs2egh08o4.cloudfront.net/link_click/eDfU1G4zYd_bkB5c/17251b82012ac26c978798aa42e40902 ) or watch the *Facebook Livestream by clicking here* ( https://www.facebook.com/InspiredThoughtsWithSam/videos/267535237676077/ ) *.* *Segment 1* Sam begins the show with his weekly quotes from Abraham and the Universe about how important it is to tell someone how much they mean to you. Then he introduces a “conscious” filmmaker, Douglas Vermeeren. As a returning guest on the show, Sam asks Douglas to recap how he got into film-making. Douglas recounts that he started his career with film in the second grade. His new movie How Thoughts Become Things is the beginning of a conversation that we need to talk about. He met with 400 of the world top achievers and noticed a similar marker with every single one of them that haven't been talked about in the media world. The top “achievers” consistently had a similar track of thinking which he reveals in his movie. *Segment 2* Douglas says that thoughts are often misunderstood. Douglas says the “become” stage is the most important stage of changing. Everyone of us is born with a set of programming, there are certain values we are given, but we really become like the 5 people we spend the most time with. Our childhood does not have as much influence on your life as you may think, if we want to see our vibration rise, start hanging around with better people and start doing better things. Sam asks what it was like to work with these successful people, and Douglas says he chose people who have been teaching so long that they can do what they say in practice, but also articulate it well. He also says some people are good at marketing themselves and some aren't, so he searched for some diamonds in the rough. *Segment 3* Sam asks Douglas how thoughts DON”t become things, in other words, common misconceptions about success. Douglas says that your thoughts do not need to be perfect, in fact they often won't be because our thoughts are reactionary. The pair also speak about toxic people and the two categories they fall under. The first kind is a complainer: they don't bring anything to the table. The other kind of toxic person is a critic:they generally show up with a correction, but are not always a good communicator. What they have to say may not sit well without you, even if sometimes what they have to say is helpful. This is different than a mentor - who can see things about you that you can't and serves as a positive presence in your life. Another big mistake that people make when it comes to thought is that you have to do everything by yourself. Everything that has become successful was created by a team. A collective effort creates a greater end product because of the different perspectives that are brought to it. *Segment 4* Douglas did not want his self help movie become a “shelf help” movie. He wanted to produce an outcome, rather than just a product. Sam asks the relevance of the film in today's world. He shares the story about an 11 year old boy who reached out to him to thank him about Douglas' discussion on fear and how to conquer it. Autopilot is dangerous because eventually we will come to feel like we aren't making progress. Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-conscious-consultant-hour8505/donations

As this podcast goes to air, we are at the very end of the spring season and preparing to open up to a new season…summer. It has definitely been a season for the history books. There is no more normal. Planets are shifting and the moon and the sun are eclipsing. So how are you handling it? What new systems are you setting up? I think there is a little progress occurring and there will be more. Allow this new season of the Sun to be a new cycle for you. Change your thoughts…shift your energy. Practice this…daily, actually hourly if necessary. Your energy is the only thing you can control right now! In today's episode, I talk with Douglas Vermeeren, who is best know for his interviews of 400 of the world's top achievers and producing three of the top 10 personal development movies, including the one we will talk about today… How Thoughts Become Things. Over the last two decades, Douglas Vermeeren has conducted extensive first hand research into the lives of the world's top achievers. He has the success strategies of top business leaders from Nike, Reebok, Fruit of the Loom, FedEx, KFC, United Airlines, Microsoft, Disney and others to share with you. ABC television and FOX Business refer to him as the modern day Napoleon Hill. He has authored three books in the Guerrilla marketing series and is creator of PERSONAL POWER MASTERY, which is rated one of the top personal development programs in the world, providing powerful tools to companies, individuals and students. He has produced three of the top 10 personal development movies - The Opus, The Gratitude Experiment and The Treasure Map and his newest... How Thoughts Become Things. Click here to download the movie! We talk about: Poverty patterns People you spend time with Your programming Yin and yang of thoughts The how and the become Fear at this time Negative thoughts Personal mastery The Secret is in the “how” which refers to the process and the function of how thoughts influence who we are and shape what will appear in our lives. And the "become" reflects the changes that are required and will take place in the individual, situations and the universe of the person with the thought. I realized in this interview that I share a common mission with Douglas in helping people to achieve their purpose through their why, by finding their who, in order to share it out into the world. She is the best-selling author of eight books and a featured expert in two films, The Keeper of the Keys, with Jack Canfield of “Chicken Soup for the Soul” fame, and The Gratitude Experiment. She's been featured on Wall Street Select, NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox and more... Show Notes: To break the ice, I asked Lisa “Would you rather be the most popular or the smartest person you know?” Her response, “Oh man, I'd rather be the most popular.” Of course, a little vanity never hurts. We went on to talking about some of the ways we can improve employee engagement by expressing gratitude. Some questions I asked Lisa throughout the interview are: What is the concept of ‘Grategy'? What role does gratitude play in our success? Why was there the need to start Grategy? What is the importance of having gratitude? What are some of the simple ways we can express gratitude to our team members? Main Take-Aways: When you force yourself to look for the good, you can always find it. Start where you are and start focusing on the good. That's when the magic happens. Out of a dark situation can come a bright light. We need to be grateful in every situation. It is scientifically proven that grateful people are healthier, happier and generally nicer to be around. It makes a difference when we show gratitude.
