There is an illusion that somehow circumstances will produce permanent gratitude if I just have enough good things happen to me. That's fool's gold. The truth is, the root of joy is gratefulness. Joy doesn't make us grateful. Instead, gratitude makes us joyful.

Your Nightly Prayer
Welcome Graham fam! We are so glad you could watch Sunday morning online with us. Prayer – 2 – An Attitude of Gratitude Introduction:As we talk about aligning our will with God it is very important to understand some things that we are called to do as Christians in order for our wills to actually align with God. We need to be worked on, prepped, and softened for our wills to be aligned with God and a lot of that preparation begins with praise and thanksgiving! Another word that can encompass Praise and Thanksgiving is gratitude. The practice of being grateful for what we have, for acknowledging blessings, and acknowledging what God has done can powerfully change your life and change your relationship with God! There have been a lot of studies of late dealing with gratitude and whether or not practicing gratitude can have an impact on your life. Harvard Health published an article in 2021 talking about the various studies that professors and universities have done around the country on gratitude and found that simply acknowledging good things in your life, thanking others, simply writing things down on paper that were good had a drastic impact on a person's overall happiness, positively impacted their relationships with others, as well as decreased health issues and visits to the doctor. The Greater Good Magazine published an article in June of 2017 that talked about how mental health organizations are incorporating gratitude into their process of treating patients. It said in the article that, “many studies over the past decade have found that people who consciously count their blessings tend to be happier and less depressed.” Who would have thought that the God of the universe has been teaching his follows to begin all things with praise and thanksgiving. God knew the power that gratitude would have in our lives from the very beginning. He programed that into our beings in the very beginning and it is a very important part of being a follower of Christ. Scripture:– 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 Points:1. Make a List!– Psalm 9:1-22. Express Gratitude first and last!– Psalm 92:1-23. Cling to the Eternal!– Corinthians 15:57 Ending:No one in the world was more afflicted than Job. His oxen and donkeys were stolen, his workers killed. His sheep and shepherds were burned up by fire from heaven. His camels were stolen and servants killed. All his children were killed all at once by wind. His health was taken from him and he suffered greatly. His wife encouraged him to curse God and die. His friends accused him of sin. Even though he was afflicted by all this Job had the incredible attitude of gratitude and proved it by…– Job 1:20-21 Sometimes we just need to remind ourselves and the world where it all came from and who is in control. What would you say if you could write a letter to your family, loved ones, and friends right now, in whatever phase you are in? What advice would you give? On three different occasions this week, as I have been running around, listening, and studying, I have run into just that. One was titled “Insights from my Life" by Neal A Maxwell. One was in the Book of Mormon, chapter 7, Mormon is at the end of his life and makes a list. Another was in the Don't Miss This Scripture Study book On each occasion, three seasoned people offered insights and various life lessons. I have thought about what I'd say, and this podcast would probably be way too long if I tried to fit them all in! But for today I just want to highlight ONE. Be Grateful. In today's podcast, we will talk about a little mishap I had this week. I fell off my bathroom counter and boy has it wreaked havoc on my back, routine, and schedule! Today I share some thoughts that have been helpful for me to practice gratitude. They are: "It could have been so much worse." "Thank goodness for help." "I can still walk." "This might be a good thing." Listen in today as we discuss these and how we can all apply them in any situation or circumstance. Insights From my Life a BYU Speech by Neal A. Discover How To Build Strong Relationships with Landowners for Hunting Access with these Key Tips. Join radio hosts Rebecca Wanner aka 'BEC' and Jeff ‘Tigger' Erhardt (Tigger & BEC) with The Bend Radio Show & Podcast, your news outlet for the latest in Outdoors & Western Lifestyle News! How To Build Strong Relationships with Landowners for Hunting Access Building a strong relationship with landowners is key to accessing private land for hunting. Many hunters face challenges finding new hunting spots, but with the right approach, securing access can be made easier. Establishing trust, showing respect, and maintaining open communication with landowners are vital steps in building long-term relationships. We (Tigger & BEC, Jeff Erhardt & Rebecca Wanner) are both landowners, hunters, and outdoorsmen that believe strongly in wildlife conservation can blend well with agriculture. Starting off on the "right foot" to build that positive relationship is the key! Key Tips for Success To Gain Hunting Access Research and Approach Landowners with Respect Before approaching a landowner, do your research. Understand their land and its boundaries. When meeting, be polite and respectful—first impressions are crucial. Avoid being overly pushy, as you're more likely to gain access if you approach them as a neighbor and fellow steward of the land. Show Appreciation for Their Property Demonstrating respect for the land is one of the most effective ways to gain and keep hunting access. Offer to help with property maintenance, such as repairing fences or inquiring how you might help. Small gestures go a long way in establishing trust and showing that you value the landowner's property. Offer to Share the Harvest When you do gain access, offering to share part of your game with the landowner is a great way to show appreciation. Whether it's a portion of your deer, elk, or pheasant, this thoughtful gesture can turn a one-time hunt into an ongoing opportunity. Maintain Open Communication Throughout the Season Set Clear Boundaries and Expectations Once you've gained permission, be clear about when and where you'll be hunting. Check in regularly with the landowner to ensure you are following their rules and respecting any changes they may have made. This builds trust and ensures both parties feel comfortable with the arrangement. Express Gratitude and Keep in Touch After the hunting season, send a thank-you note or a small token of appreciation to the landowner. Keeping in touch year-round, not just during hunting season, shows that you value the relationship beyond the hunting benefits. Why Strong Relationships with Landowners Matter Securing private land access provides unique hunting opportunities that aren't available on public lands. Private lands often have more diverse wildlife and fewer hunters, making for a more rewarding experience. Building strong relationships with landowners not only benefits hunters but also helps landowners maintain and protect their property. Additional Benefits of Developing Good Landowner Relations Long-term Hunting Opportunities: Establishing a good relationship can lead to repeated hunting access for years to come. Exclusive Hunting Rights: Some landowners may offer exclusive access to hunters they trust, giving you a prime hunting spot with less competition. Frequently Asked Questions About Hunting Access on Private Land Do Landowners Require a Fee for Hunting Access? Some landowners may request a small fee or require you to sign a liability waiver. Always discuss these terms upfront to avoid any confusion. What Should I Avoid When Approaching a Landowner? Avoid approaching landowners during busy times, such as harvest season. Be patient and polite, and avoid making demands or rushing the conversation. Conclusion: Build Positive Relationships for Future Hunting Success Building strong, positive relationships with landowners is essential for gaining and maintaining access to private hunting land. By showing respect, offering help, and expressing gratitude, you can develop lasting partnerships that benefit both you and the landowner. Taking these steps not only helps you find new hunting opportunities but also strengthens local land conservation efforts. Hey, Survivor! After narcissistic abuse, expressing gratitude can boost your body and brain health. As a survivor, it can be hard to give thanks, after dealing with a narcissist. That said, being grateful is a healthy way to turn your attention away from narcissistic or toxic relationships that are robbing you of your precious resources (i.e. time, energy, attention, and money). In this episode, I share 3 ways to give thanks. If you, or someone you know, need help with gratitude on your healing journey, this episode is for you. Know who you're dealing with. Know who you are.
Knowing Who You Are helps you step up and be who God has called you to be.
Our potential for wealth is not shown in our bank account as much as it is in the attitude of our heart. Give generously and “wealth” of all kinds will start to move toward you. We've got just a couple of questions today - and a couple of short stories to emphasize the importance of gratitude. So, grab your cup of tea - or maybe your Mt. Dew - and get ready for a power-packed episode filled with practical advice, inspiring stories, and valuable resources to help maximize your opportunities. Here are three key takeaways from the episode that I believe can have a significant impact on your career journey: Attitude = Wealth: The potential for wealth lies within the attitude of our hearts. Cultivating gratitude and adopting a positive outlook can bring not only financial success but also improved well-being, reduced stress, enhanced relationships, and greater happiness. Let's embrace positivity and express gratitude in our professional and personal lives. Find Your Unique Value: In today's challenging job market with unexpected changes, it's essential to become a person of value. Instead of getting frustrated with limited opportunities, focus on identifying your unique skills and value proposition. Explore creative endeavors, provide unique services, and see how you can make a difference in your industry. Remember, success comes from attitude, optimism, faith, and positive action. Express Gratitude and Give Generously: The power of expressing gratitude cannot be underestimated. Not only does it improve our mental health and overall well-being, but it also strengthens relationships, enhances resilience, and boosts motivation. Even during financially challenging times, let's embrace the practice of giving generously, whether it's through kind words, gestures of appreciation, or sharing resources with others. PLUS how I start each day. https://www.48days.com/want-to-be-wealthy-try-this Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Welcome back, friends! I hope all my American listeners enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving. I wanted to do a special solo "Coach's Corner" episode today focusing on gratitude and how it impacts our health as we age. I've actually covered gratitude in a few past episodes that are worth mentioning again: - Back in March 2021, I interviewed Debbie Waynez and we talked about how intentional gratitude helped her journey from profound grief to absolute joy. That episode is titled "Journey From Heartbreak to Joy." https://silveredgefitness.com/episode44/ - And just last month, I had an enlightening chat with Dr. Greg Hamer about finding peace and purpose through gratitude even during chaotic times. That episode was called "Finding Peace in Purpose Through Gratitude."https://silveredgefitness.com/242-2/ So gratitude is a recurring theme on this podcast because I firmly believe embracing gratitude is truly life changing. Let's explore why it's so critical to our health and how we can make it a daily practice. The Transformative Power of Gratitude - Gratitude goes far beyond just saying thanks - it's a state of appreciation and noticing the blessings we do have. - Research shows grateful people suffer less aches and pains, report better health, tend to sleep better at night, and have decreased feelings of anxiety, frustration and envy. - Gratitude helps us better weather life's inevitable ups and downs with resilience, self-worth and deep spiritual connectivity. 3 Ways to Build a Gratitude Practice 1. Keep a Gratitude Journal - Take a few minutes each day to write down a short list of things you're grateful for. The key is consistency with this exercise. - Try the 30 Day Challenge where you write down 3 new things you're grateful for every single day. It gets harder as the days go on, which builds your awareness. 2. Incorporate Gratitude Meditation/Prayer - No need for structured meditation - take brief moments during your day to pause and appreciate things around you. - Prayer works too! Personally I start and end each day with short gratitude prayers which grounds me and helps me sleep. 3. Express Gratitude to Others - Tell people in your life what they mean to you. Write thank you notes. Verbal appreciation strengthens relationships. - There are also great gratitude apps available with prompts and reminders. And leverage technology to build community around gratitude. Remember it takes consistency and you will have ups and downs. But pick one or two gratitude practices that work for you and give them an honest try. I promise you will start to notice positive changes! Gratitude transforms lives in profound ways. I hope you'll join me on this journey toward better health and deeper fulfillment. We have so much to be thankful for, my friends. I appreciate YOU for listening! Let's practice the spirit of Thanksgiving all year round. Stay grateful out there!Want to rewrite the narrative of your life and health? Kezia and Kim welcome sober friend Jennifer Eastwood. They discuss the buzzword ‘gratitude.' How do you shift your mindset from “I have to stop drinking to I GET to stop drinking.” How do you express gratitude? Jen started her quest for a sober life in August 2021. After a few hiccups and a couple stays at rehab (which she loved by the way! ) she stuck her sober landing in December 2021. She lives in Virginia with her husband, four kids and dogs. And when not gladly (happily maybe!) attending the plethora of children's events she has on the calendar, she has she loves to travel the world with her family.
