In this episode, we chat with Adam Oehlman, CEO of African Gold, an ASX-listed junior explorer who are exploring and developing a multi-million ounce potential at the Didievi Gold project in Côte d’Ivoire. With qualifications in Geology, Mineral and Energy Economics and an MBA, Adam is an experienced mining professional with a strong background in both technical and commercial roles, holding key positions at Northern Star, Hancock Prospecting, and Goldfields. At the helm of African Gold, he gives us an overview of the business, recent activities they have undertaken, and some of the challenges they have faced and overcome. He understands the importance of mentoring, so he will provide some advice to young professionals starting out and the value you should always be looking to give your employees and others you work alongside in the industry. KEY TAKEAWAYS Young professionals should seek guidance from experienced individuals and actively pursue opportunities rather than waiting for them to come. African Gold operates in Cote d'Ivoire, a premier West African mining jurisdiction with strong infrastructure and support from existing mining companies. The company is focused on exploring and developing its Didievi Gold Project, which has a maiden inferred resource of 450,000 ounces. The company is currently executing a 10,000-meter drilling program aimed at expanding its resource base. Adam believes that the current resource is just the beginning, with the potential to exceed one million ounces. Adam highlights the company's commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. African Gold actively supports local communities, including educational programs and training for locals, to foster trust and demonstrate the benefits of mining. With gold prices at record highs, African Gold is well-positioned to capitalise on market conditions. The company plans to release a resource update and continue drilling to unlock additional resource zones, maintaining a steady flow of positive news for investors. BEST MOMENTS "I think you'd be crazy not to have a big focus on community and environment these days. It's a massive focus of us." "Every drill program we do, every hole we put in, there's gold in mind. It's not just drilling to test science; it's drilling to find answers and add shareholder value." "Cote d'Ivoire is just an absolutely lovely place. I've just been so surprised how welcoming the people are, how good the infrastructure is." "I always think people, you can probably live in your head a bit too much. So I think you probably need to think less and do more." Over in the US on Monday, stocks were heavily sold off in morning trade before recovering some losses in afternoon trade amid news of tariffs between the US and Mexico would be paused for a month as conversations between the presidents of the countries begin. The Dow Jones fell 0.28%, the S&P500 lost 0.76%, and the Nasdaq ended the day down 1.2%.In Europe overnight markets closed lower after President Trump imposed tariffs on several countries and threatened to expand the tariffs to the European Union and the UK. The STOXX 600 fell 0.93%, Germany's DAX lost 1.4%, the French CAC fell 1.2%, and, in the UK, the FTSE100 ended the day down 1.04%.Across the Asia region on Monday negative investor sentiment around Trump's tariffs spread into the region with Japan's Nikkei falling 2.66% while South Korea's Kospi lost 2.52%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng dropped just 0.04% and, China's CSI index remained closed for the Lunar holiday. The local market started the new trading week with a significant sell-off, closing Monday's session down 1.79% with every sector ending the day lower as investors reacted to the downside risk of flow through effects into our economy from Trump's tariffs announced over the weekend.Over the weekend President Trump introduced 25% tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports and an additional 10% tariff on Chinese goods, which led Canada to retaliate with a 25% tariff on US goods into Canada. There were few stories of good news on the market on Monday, but Lynas Rare Earths led the ASX200 gains with a rise of 3% despite no news out of the rare earth's producer. The possible catalyst for the rise in the share price may be due to Gina Rinehart's Hancock Prospecting buying up shares in the rare earth's producer over recent days.Magellan shares also tumbled 8.7% yesterday following the departure of the company's long-standing boss Gerald Stack. What to watch today:Ahead of Tuesday's trading session on the ASX, the SPI futures are anticipating the ASX will open the day up 0.47%.On the commodities front this morning oil is trading 0.26% higher at US$72.71/barrel, gold is up 0.8% at US$2819/ounce, and iron ore is up 0.26% at US$101.59/tonne.The Aussie dollar has slightly weakened against the greenback to buy US$0.61, 95.55 Japanese Yen, 49.82 British Pence and NZ$1.11.Trading Ideas:Bell Potter has slightly decreased the 12-month price target on Aeris Resources (ASX:AIS) from 34cps to 29cps and maintain a buy rating on the multi-mine copper and gold producer following the release of the company's December quarter update. Production at the company's Tritton mine fell short of Bell Potter expectations while AISC topped BPe, while the company's Cracow mine produced more gold at a lower cost than BP was expecting. The company's near-term outlook is highly leveraged to the copper price and increasing grades and production at its Tritton copper mine. And Trading Central has identified a bearish signal on Bravura solutions (ASX:BVS) following the formation of a pattern over a period of 7-days which is roughly the same amount of time the share price may fall from the close of $2.11 to the range of $1.93 to $1.97 according to standard principles of technical analysis.

Titan Minerals Ltd (ASX:TTM, OTC:TTTNF) CEO Melanie Leighton talks with Proactive's Tylah Tully about the company's $20 million funding round and its ambitious plans for 2025. She highlighted strong support from major shareholder Tribeca and the addition of new investors. Leighton described the funding as a significant vote of confidence in Titan's projects in southern Ecuador. At the Dynasty Gold Project, a 10,000-metre resource extension program is underway. The project boasts 3.1 million ounces of gold and 22 million ounces of silver, with plans for substantial resource growth. "We're aiming to deliver multiple drilling results and resource updates through 2025," Leighton said. The funds will support ongoing drilling, exploration and de-risking activities at Dynasty. Leighton also provided updates on the Linderos Copper-Gold Project, a joint venture with Hancock Prospecting. A 10,000-metre drilling campaign is in progress, with plans for a second phase to begin next year. "We're looking forward to the results, which will help unlock the project's potential," she said. Proactive's Tylah Tully breaks down ‘Just the Facts' of the latest news from Titan Minerals Ltd (ASX:TTM, OTC:TTTNF). The company is advancing a 10,000-metre diamond drilling campaign at the Linderos Copper Project in Ecuador, part of an earn-in agreement with Hanrine, a subsidiary of Hancock Prospecting. This agreement allows Hanrine to secure up to an 80% interest in the project by meeting exploration milestones and providing up to US$120 million in funding. Drilling commenced in November 2024, with a second diamond rig to be added soon. The campaign targets extensions at the Copper Ridge porphyry prospect and is expected to finish by the second quarter of 2025. Hanrine has already earned a 5% stake through a US$2 million payment to Titan and can achieve 51% ownership by completing 15,000 metres of drilling. Titan's earlier work identified substantial shallow porphyry copper mineralisation at Copper Ridge, including an interval of 308 metres at 0.4% copper equivalent. A geophysical survey further revealed a 2-kilometre porphyry alteration footprint, suggesting significant growth potential. Titan highlighted Hanrine's prompt and effective commencement of activities as a reflection of their strong Ecuadorian team and commitment to the region's mining development. #ProactiveInvestors #TitanMinerals #ASX #JusttheFacts #LinderosProject #CopperExploration #EcuadorMining #Hanrine #HancockProspecting #PorphyryCopper #DiamondDrilling #CopperRidge #MiningUpdates #ExplorationNews #ASXMining #GeophysicalSurvey #Mineralisation #MiningPartnerships #CopperDeposits #MiningProjects #EcuadorResources #MiningIndustry #DrillingCampaign

Proactive's Tylah Tully breaks down ‘Just the Facts' of the latest news from Titan Minerals Ltd (ASX:TTM, OTC:TTTNF). The company has launched a diamond drilling campaign at the Dynasty Gold Project in southern Ecuador, focused on resource expansion and exploration of new zones. This campaign includes up to 10,000 metres of drilling aimed at upgrading inferred resources to the indicated category. A recent trench result at the Iguana South prospect revealed high-grade intercepts, including 3 metres at 21.4 g/t gold and 14.1 g/t silver, which will be further examined in this drilling phase. Titan's exploration has confirmed a mineralised area of 9 x 2 kilometres within Dynasty, expanding the project's potential. New exploration targets have been identified using soil geochemistry and trenching, with ongoing drilling uncovering previously unmapped veins. Concurrently, Titan is preparing a 10,000-metre drilling program at the nearby Linderos Copper Project. This program will be funded by Hanrine, a Hancock Prospecting subsidiary, which can earn an 80% stake by investing up to USD $120 million. Titan Minerals Ltd (ASX:TTM, OTC:TTTNF) CEO Melanie Leighton joins Jonathan Jackson in the Proactive studio to chat about moves to expand the mineral resource at the Dynasty Gold Project in southern Ecuador. Titan aims to drill a 9-kilometre epithermal gold corridor, much of which remains undrilled. The project currently holds 3.1 million ounces of gold and 22 million ounces of silver and recent soil geochemical studies support the potential for significant resource growth. Titan plans to finalise a joint venture with Hancock Prospecting subsidiary Hanrine Ecuadorian Exploration and Mining S.A. in late July 2024, with exploration activities on the Linderos Copper Project starting later in the quarter. Leighton highlighted the identification of undrilled anomalies over the full 9-kilometre strike, expressing confidence in the potential for a substantial increase in resources. Concurrently, Titan is advancing development options for the Dynasty Project, including mine optimisation, metallurgical studies, and flowsheet development. Key activities include mapping the 2-kilometre Gap Zone and Iguana South, trenching to understand mineralisation and potential surface grades, and soil sampling of the remaining unsampled area. Titan plans to rank and prioritise new targets, with resource growth drilling commencing in late Q3 2024. An updated mineral resource estimate and pre-scoping study for the Dynasty Project are expected by the end of August and Q4 2024, respectively. #ProactiveInvestors #TitanMinerals #ASX #GoldMining #EcuadorMining #DynastyGoldProject #MineralExploration #GoldResources #EpithermalGold #MiningNews #ResourceExpansion #GeochemicalStudies #JointVenture #HancockProspecting #CopperExploration #LinderosProject #MiningIndustry #GeologicalMapping #SoilSampling #MineralResourceEstimate #JORCClassification #MiningDevelopment #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

Interview with Melanie Leighton, CEO of Titan Minerals Ltd.Recording date: 17th June 2024Titan Minerals (ASX:TTM) is an emerging leader in Ecuador's rapidly evolving mining sector. With a portfolio of advanced copper and gold projects, strategic partnerships with industry majors, and a proven track record of exploration success, Titan is well positioned to capitalize on Ecuador's vast mineral potential.Ecuador is one of the most underexplored mining jurisdictions in the world, despite sharing the same prolific geology as its neighbors Chile and Peru. However, the country is on the cusp of a mining renaissance, with the government actively encouraging foreign investment and major miners pouring hundreds of millions into the region. Titan Minerals offers investors a unique opportunity to gain exposure to this emerging mining hotspot.Titan's flagship asset is the Dynasty gold project, which hosts a 3.1 million ounce gold resource and and 22 millions ounce silver with an average grade of 2.23 g/t Au and 15.7 g/t Ag. The deposit remains open along strike and at depth, with the potential to grow to 5-6 million ounces through additional drilling. Titan is currently updating the resource estimate and plans to aggressively expand the deposit through drilling over the next 12-18 months. In addition to Dynasty, Titan has assembled a pipeline of earlier-stage copper and gold projects across Ecuador. The company's business model focuses on cost-effectively advancing these projects to demonstrate their potential before seeking partners to fund large-scale development. Titan has already successfully executed this strategy with its Linderos copper project, securing a farm-out deal with mining giant Hancock Prospecting. Hancock can earn up to an 80% stake in Linderos by spending US$120 million, including $2 million in upfront cash payments to Titan. This deal structure allows Titan to retain significant exposure to Linderos' upside while Hancock funds the high-risk exploration and development phases.Titan is now turning its attention to its Copper Duke project as the next potential farm-out candidate. Despite being an earlier-stage asset, Copper Duke has already attracted interest from major miners impressed by Titan's low-cost exploration work. The company is planning initial drill testing later this year to further demonstrate the project's potential before engaging with partners.Underpinning Titan's portfolio is a deep understanding of Ecuador's geological and political landscape. The company has spent years building an experienced local team and honing its exploration methodology. This first-mover advantage positions Titan to be a prime beneficiary of Ecuador's mining boom. For investors, Titan offers a compelling combination of near-term catalysts, long-term growth potential, and significant exploration upside. With drilling set to commence at Dynasty, a potential farm-out deal on the horizon at Copper Duke, and ongoing partner-funded work at Linderos, the company is poised for a steady stream of news flow over the coming months. As Ecuador's mining sector continues to gather momentum, Titan's strategic positioning, proven business model, and high-quality asset base make it a standout investment opportunity.View Titan Minerals' company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/titan-minerals-limitedSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

For Donnell Wallam, 2022 was intense. After she found herself at the centre of one of year's biggest sports stories she was largely silent publicly as she sought to navigate a challenging landscape. Today, she speaks with Patrick Stack about how that time made her stronger, why she feels a burden in being a spokesperson on Indigenous issues, but how she believes she needs to speak out, so future generations might not have to. Featured: Donnell Wallam, netballer, Queensland Firebirds, Australia Diamonds.  Listen to Jock Landale on his quest for an NBA title PLUS...  Subscribe to the ABC Sport Newsletter

Investors may be selling out of the furniture retailer's shares today after the company failed to provide guidance beyond January, citing it ‘2H FY23 results will depend upon trading during February to April and at this point it is difficult to provide further guidance', which didn't impress investors, sparking fears of tougher times to come as interest rates continue rising and consumer spending declines.Beach Energy (ASX:BPT) shares lifted today after the gas producer released an update on its Waitsia Stage 2 project. Netball Australia has signed a $15 million sponsorship deal with Visit Victoria just over a week after Hancock Prospecting pulled its contract with the sport. Under the deal, which will run from 2023 to 2027, the Australian Diamonds will wear Visit Victoria branding on the uniform and players and coaches will appear in tourism campaigns to promote Victoria as a travel destination. Victoria will effectively become the home of the Diamonds and will host at least one international Test match for the next five years. The Diamonds will also hold their high performance training camps in the state. On top of that, the new deal means the 2023 Super Netball Grand Final will be held in Victoria. Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said he was “thrilled” to announce the deal, declaring it a major “coup” for the state. “This is just a really fantastic day for us to be able to secure this sponsorship deal,” he said. “Victoria is a proud sporting state, and we are delighted to announce a new partnership with Visit Victoria. The partnership will guarantee Victorians the opportunity to experience more netball across the next four and a half years,” Netball Australia CEO Kelly Ryan said. Diamonds captain Liz Watson added: “This is a significant partnership for the Origin Australian Diamonds as we prepare to defend our Commonwealth Games gold medal in Victoria in 2026. “Visit Victoria is a proud supporter of netball, and this investment will benefit all levels of our game.” The deal with Visit Victoria, the state's tourism agency, will only enhance Melbourne's status as the so-called sporting capital of the Australia — adding to a calendar already boasting the Australian Open, AFL Grand Final, Melbourne Cup, cricket's Boxing Day Test match and the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Albert Park. The contract with Visit Victoria is a major boost to Netball Australia, which was desperately searching for a new sponsor after Gina Rinehart's Hancock Prospecting pulled its $15 million deal. Now the sport's governing has found a replacement, with Visit Victoria's deal exactly the same amount Hancock Prospecting withdrew. Indigenous player Donnell Wallam had expressed concern about wearing the Hancock Prospecting logo because of comments made by Rinehart's father and Hancock Prospecting founder Lang Hancock. Donnell Wallam of the Australia Diamonds. Photo / Getty In an interview in the 1980s, Hancock proposed parts of the Indigenous community should be sterilised so they would “breed themselves out”. The breakdown of the deal with Hancock sparked heated responses from Australian sporting legends including Andrew Gaze, Anthony Mundine and Dawn Fraser, politicians, as well as media personalities such as Lisa Wilkinson and Tony Armstrong. There had been calls for Australian billionaire companies including software firm Atlassian to intervene but Netball Australia has found an alternative. Netball Australia's other major sponsors including Suncorp, Origin Energy and Nissan have stated they are standing by the Diamonds and will continue their funding of netball in Australia. The sport's governing body is reportedly $7 million in debt due to costs associated with running the Super Netball competition during the pandemic. Just four months ago, in June, Netball Australia was issued a “going concern” notice from auditors after losing a whopping $7.2 million in just two years. The deal with Visit Victoria will go a long way to recouping those losses. On the court, Wallam made a fairytale Diamonds debut last week in the series opener against England, coming off the bench in the last quarter and scored the matchwinning buzzer beat goal in the one-goal victory. The Diamonds took an unassailable 2-0 series lead against the Roses with a dominant 56-48 victory in game two on Sunday night. The result wrapped up a perfect 2022 for the Diamonds — who won the Quad Series in January, the Commonwealth Games gold medal, reclaimed the Constellation Cup from New Zealand and have now dominated the old enemy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Hancock Prospecting was, the emphasis on was, the sponsor of Netball Australia. It was a $15 million deal that got pulled by the head of the company, Gina Rinehart. As we explained last week, sport these days is less about sport and more about virtue signalling. That is exactly the term Rinehart used over the mess some of the players have created for their sport. They were fretting about comments Rinehart's father made 40 years ago. One player wanted an exemption not to wear the sponsor on the team uniform. And so, it has led to this. A sport that was in financial trouble, now $15 million out of pocket and lord knows who would touch them. The irony being that's what the virtue signallers never quite seem to get. The simple fact that so much of this modern-day whinging actually has outworkings for more than just themselves. If, for example, those who so vehemently opposed the Rinehart money were happy to lose their place in the side and therefore their income as professional athletes, that doesn't mean the rest of the team were. But that doesn't seem to matter to those who make the most noise. And the most noise for what? Does the Rinehart business top? Does Australia stop producing fossil fuels? Does the world stop demanding fossil fuels? Do the Europeans decide not to heat their homes this winter? Nothing changes except for the sport, the players in the sport, and the reputation of the sport. Like all relationships in life, there is a balance to be struck. The balance for netball was an income stream at a very difficult time. In this particular circumstance, netball needed Hancock more than Hancock needed netball. But netball abused the balance, hopped on board a horse a mile too high, and are paying the price because of it. Like so many themes that evolve, virtue signalling being one of the latest, the proponents almost always take it too far. That's before the pushback begins and the pushback has most certainly begun, with this example clocking in at $15 million.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In today's episode we continue our investigative series into the actual science behind the Earth's ever changing climate, continue to provide clear evidence to counter the bogus mainstream narrative, and examine the threat that renewable and unreliable energy sources pose to Western nations. Joining us today is Professor Ian Plimer, Australia's best-known and most loved geologist. [Professor Plimer is Emeritus Professor of Earth Sciences at the University of Melbourne, where he was Professor and Head of Earth Sciences (1991-2005) after serving at the University of Newcastle (1985-1991) as Professor and Head of Geology. He was also Professor of Mining Geology at The University of Adelaide (2006-2012).] Prof Plimer has published more than 120 scientific papers on geology and was one of three of editors for the five-volume Encyclopedia of Geology. With his most recent publication of the book “Green Murder” he has now published eleven books written for the general public. He frequently publishes newspaper and magazine opinion pieces as well as academic book chapters. His latest book has been a labour of love and hate unfunded by third parties. It is important to note that he has never been funded or employed by the fossil fuel or uranium industries. The recipient of numerous awards and multiple accolades Professor Plimer has been an outspoken critic of both creationism and the supposed scientific consensus on anthropogenic climate change. He won the Leopold von Buch Plakette (German Geological Society), the Clarke Medal (Royal Society of NSW), the Sir Willis Connolly Medal (Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy). He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and an Honorary Fellow of the Geological Society of London. In 1995, he was Australian Humanist of the Year and later was awarded the Centenary Medal. He was Managing Editor of Mineralium Deposita, president of the SGA, president of IAGOD, president of the Australian Geoscience Council and sat on the Earth Sciences Committee of the Australian Research Council for many years. He won the Eureka Prize for the promotion of science, the Eureka Prize for A Short History of Planet Earth and the Michael Daley Prize (now a Eureka Prize) for science broadcasting. He was an advisor to governments and corporations and was a regular broadcaster. It is also important to note that Professor Plimer spent much of his life in the rough and tumble of the zinc-lead-silver mining town of Broken Hill where an interdisciplinary scientific knowledge base intertwined with a healthy dose of scepticism and pragmatism are necessary for survival. He worked for North Broken Hill Ltd, was a consultant to many major mining companies and has been a director of numerous exploration public companies listed in London, Toronto and Sydney. In his post-university career he is proudly a director of a number various unlisted private Hancock Prospecting companies.
