(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Christmas Eve Nigerian Christian massacre Armed Muslim groups killed at least 96 people on Christmas Eve in Nigeria's central Plateau State. The attackers targeted twelve villages and burned over 200 homes. Another attack in the state on Sunday killed 16 more people. Christians in the area are under constant threat from suspected jihadists. Village Elder Yusuf Ibrahim told International Christian Concern, “We need more security in the community to celebrate Christmas very well. Yes, we are under attack by (radical) Fulani [Muslim] tribesmen. Pray for us.” Nigeria is ranked sixth on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian. Over 50,000 Christians have been killed in the country's Central Belt region over the last 20 years. Cameroon Catholic bishops condemn sexual perversion In nearby Cameroon, Africa, Catholic bishops are taking a stand against sexually perverted lifestyles. A recent declaration from the bishops says, “Homosexuality falsifies and corrupts human anthropology and trivializes sexuality, marriage and the family, the foundations of society. … We therefore declare non-compliant any form of blessing, public or private, that tends to recognize ‘same-sex couples' as a state of life.” The African bishops are responding to a recent statement from Pope Francis that permits some kind of blessing for homosexual couples. 2 Peter 2:1 says, “But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.” African and Asian illegals crossing U.S.-Mexico border Speaking of Africa, illegal immigration from Africa and Asia to the U.S. is growing rapidly.  Officials encountered 43% more migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border from outside Latin America and the Caribbean this year compared to last year. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is calling it “the highest level of mass migration since World War II.” Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson  sent a letter to President Joe Biden last Thursday, calling on him to take executive action for border security. Johnson wrote, “Statutory reforms designed to restore operational control at our southern border must be enacted, but the crisis at our southern border has deteriorated to such an extent that significant action can wait no longer. It must start now, and it must start with you.” National Archives Museum tried to censor pro-life message Last week, pro-lifers won a $10,000 settlement with the U.S. National Archives. Back in January, participants in the 50th annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. visited the National Archives Museum. Personnel there told them they had to leave unless they removed or covered the pro-life messages on their clothing.  With the help of the American Center for Law and Justice, the pro-lifers were able to challenge the National Archives on religious liberty grounds. The legal group said, “Our victory today ensures that they will be free from harassment and that their First Amendment rights will be protected should they choose to visit the National Archives and view the very documents that protect those sacred rights.” America is constitutional carry of guns majority nation Fox News reports the U.S. became a constitutional carry-majority nation this year. NRA executive vice president and CEO Wayne LaPierre told Fox News Digital, “The gun control lobby and their allies pledged to dismantle self-defense laws and the Second Amendment. That strategy has backfired. In 2021, there were 16 states with NRA Constitutional Carry. Just three years later, there are now 27 states.” Last year ended with Georgia becoming the 25th state to allow citizens to carry a concealed firearm without a permit. Florida joined in March and was followed soon after by Nebraska. Many of the constitutional carry states are concentrated in the south and midwest. Christmas miracle: Arizona street preacher out of ICU after getting shot in head And finally, God blessed one Christian family with their own Christmas miracle.  An Arizona man is making stunning progress after being shot in the head last month while street preaching. Twenty-six-year-old Hans Schmidt was rushed to the hospital, and doctors didn't give him much of a chance of surviving. Now, he is out of the ICU, but still not able to fully communicate. His wife, Zulya, said, “We're hopeful, and we're praying, and we're contending for a supernatural recovery. But there's just so much unknown still, so much uncertainty. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Israel kills 5 Palestinian terrorists in airstrike An Israeli Defense Forces airstrike on Saturday killed five Palestinian terrorists, including Mahmoud a-Zoufi, a commander of al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, and wounded two other people in the Fatah headquarters in Balata camp near Nablus, reports the Jerusalem Post. Among those terrorists killed were Mohammad Zahed, a key commander in Nablus's terrorist activities. Zahed took part in various Nablus shooting attacks, but also in an April 2023 shooting in Jerusalem, wounding two Israeli civilians and was reportedly planning additional terror acts. Bethlehem drops Christmas décor to support Palestinians Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus Christ and a city located in the West Bank, is set to remove Christmas decorations as a gesture of solidarity with Palestinians amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, reports the Jerusalem Post. Despite Bethlehem's significance to Christians and its status as a destination for Christian tourism during the Advent season, the city has a predominantly Muslim population. In 1950, the Christians constituted over 80% of the local population of Bethlehem, However, today, Christians only comprise 10% of the Bethlehem population in this now Muslim-dominated town. Micah, the Old Testament prophet, predicted Bethlehem as the birthplace for the Messiah. “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” (Micah 5:2) Arizona street preacher shot in head Like something out of Nigeria, Africa, a beloved Christian leader was shot in the head Wednesday night while preaching the gospel in Glendale, Arizona. Hans Schmidt, a young father and the outreach director for the nondenominational Victory Chapel First Phoenix, was standing at the northwest corner of 51st and Peoria Avenues with his megaphone, quoting scripture and preaching to passersby ahead of an evening service. Around 6:00 p.m., someone evidently pulled a gun on him, reported Arizona Family. After he was rushed to the emergency room, Victory Chapel revealed that Schmidt “began seizing and was intubated.  There has been some movement. However, physicians are uncertain how much is voluntary and began draining fluid from his brain.” Brad Curell, a family friend, reported “the bullet traveled through his brain and is still inside on the right side of his head. … So far, [the doctors] are saying it's inoperable.” Officer Gina Winn of the Glendale Police Department held a press conference. WINN: “We have a 26-year-old who was a military medic. He is recently married. He has two small children and he's currently in a critical state. We know for a fact that there were people within the area. There were vehicles driving within the area. So, we believe there is somebody within the Valley that does know something about what happened. So, we are asking that you contact the Glendale Police Department. Our detectives are reviewing a huge amount of surveillance footage. So, that's part of the investigation and part of the leads that we're following up on.” Robert Waldrep, a local Christian, stopped by Victory Chapel to pray for Hans Schmidt's full recovery and for God's comfort for the injured pastor's family. WALDREP: “What really got me is that this young man is my son's age. To have somebody out there in the community who's just trying to share the Gospel of love and share Christ with those who need Him. I just pray for his complete healing and blessing over his wife and children and all those who love him.” And Jesse James, the owner of a nearby comics store, talked with KNXV-TV. JAMES: “Who knows why someone would take it out on a preacher like that, you know, because he's speaking the Gospel, the Good News to everybody. He's out to help the community.” It's unclear whether the shooter attempted the apparent assassination on foot or from a car. Whoever is guilty of this egregious act of violence against this bold street evangelist will one day be held accountable by Almighty God. Romans 14:12 declares, “Every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” Nikki Haley pulls into second place in New Hampshire GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley has moved into second place in New Hampshire in two new polls, reports Fox News.  For the first time, she closed the gap a bit against Donald Trump, who maintains his solid lead with the state's primary just ten weeks away. A University of New Hampshire poll shows Trump getting 42% of the vote against Haley's 20%, the best she's done in the state. In a Monmouth poll, Chris Christie is in third with 11%, Vivek Ramaswamy at 8%, and Ron DeSantis coming in last at 7%. Iowa evangelical leader likely to endorse Ron DeSantis Bob Vander Plaats, an influential evangelical leader in Iowa, is widely expected to endorse Ron DeSantis in the presidential primary, reports Politico. Vander Plaats, president of the Family Leader, has picked correctly in every recent GOP primary, backing Mike Huckabee in 2008, Rick Santorum in 2012 and Ted Cruz in 2016. All three won the Iowa primary, but went on to lose the nomination. But now, with Donald Trump dominating the field, Vander Plaats is poised to back a candidate who is running 30 points behind the frontrunner here — testing not only the clout of his own endorsement, but the willingness of Evangelicals to abandon Trump. GOP Rep. George Santos will not seek re-election And finally, last Thursday, after a monthslong investigation into the conduct of Republican Rep. George Santos of New York, the House Ethics Committee released a scathing report, documenting “overwhelming evidence” of his lawbreaking. They sent it to the Justice Department, concluding flatly that he “cannot be trusted.” Shortly after the panel's report was released, Santos tweeted that it was a “disgusting politicized smear.”  However, he also noted that he would not be seeking re-election to a second term. He gave no indication that he would step aside before his term ends, vowing to pursue his “conservative values in my remaining time in Congress.” But a renewed effort to expel him from the House was quickly launched. The House could vote on his expulsion as soon as it returns from the Thanksgiving holiday later this month. "Ich seh gern blut!" he'd say ("I like to see the blood"). The blood excited him—sexually excited him, noted his doctor. He also took to killing animals himself and carrying their heads in his pocket. Then he decided to become a priest. This didn't quite turn his life around, and he ended up committing all kinds of offenses, both heretical and sexual, till no parish would accept him. So in 1909, he moved from Germany to America.There, Hans Schmidt illegally married, impregnated, and then brutally murdered and dismembered his “wife”, Anna Aumüller. For that crime, he was eventually executed via electrocution, and to this day is the only Catholic priest ever executed in the United States. Hans Schmidt wasn't necessarily set up for success. Whether being forced to perform Catholic masses in a homemade frock by his overbearing mother in Germany, or meeting his buddy at the local slaughterhouse to engage in mutual masturbation, it's fair to say that Hans had a turbulent and unusual childhood. Even after relocating to New York City years later and becoming an ordained Catholic priest IRL, Father Hans Schmidt continued to live an absolutely insane and less-than-holy existence. When dismembered body parts wrapped in butcher paper started washing up on the Jersey Shore with links to this disturbed man of the cloth, detectives began to unravel one of the most demented psyches they'd ever seen.  And don't even get us started on what Father Hans Schmidt did with the chicken head... Hans Schmidt holds a title that no other Catholic priest holds in the United States: the ONLY Catholic priest to ever be executed. Schmidt illegally married, impregnated, and brutally murdered and dismembered his mistress, a one Anna Aumuller. For that crime, he was eventually executed via electrocution. Schmidt was ordained in Germany in 1904. He spent the next four years serving in Germany, but disputes with his higher-ups led to a relocation. This was the start of a pattern of relocation for Schmidt. In 1908, he was transferred to St. John's Parish in Louisville, Kentucky. After a short time serving there, Schmidt was forced to relocate to St. Boniface Church in New York City. This is around the same time that Anna, a young Austrian housekeeper, began working at St. Boniface. On February 26, 1913, Schmidt married Aumuller in a secret ceremony that he performed himself. This is an important note: Catholic priests are banned from getting married and having sexual affairs. Their story reached a gruesome end in 1913, when 31 year old Schmidt learned of Anna's pregnancy. Fearing this information would oust him completely from the Catholic church, he took severe action. On September 2, Schmidt slashed Aumuller's throat with a 12-inch butchers knife in an uptown Manhattan apartment that he had rented for her. He then sawed off her head with a hack saw and sawed her body in half. He stuffed her lower body in one of her pillowcases that had a monogrammed “A” on it. Then, he proceeded to dump the remains in the Hudson River, hoping it would sink to the bottom. Three days later, however, the remains were discovered by two kids in New Jersey. The NYPD turned to the monogrammed pillowcase to locate the murderer. It was distinctive for the police to trace it to a specific company, and the company kept detailed business records. The records for the “A” pillowcase led to Anna's Manhattan apartment. Lead detective Inspector Faurot and his partner went to St. Joseph's to question Schmidt about the blood-stained apartment rented in his name. Within minutes, he confessed to the marriage and murder of Anna, claiming “I loved her. Sacrifices should be consummated in blood.” Schmidt ultimately met his end in the electric chair for his crimes.
