What does it mean for America to be "a city on a hill"? In this soul-stirring exploration of our nation's spiritual bedrock, we uncover the remarkable prayer journals of George Washington that reveal a founding father deeply devoted to Christ. Far from the cold, distant figure often portrayed in history books, Washington's own words show him prostrate before God, seeking divine mercy and guidance daily. "I will call on thee as long as I live, from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same," wrote the father of our country in his private devotions. These handwritten prayers directly challenge modern narratives attempting to remove Christianity from America's founding story. As we read Washington's humble supplications alongside Jesus's teachings in the Sermon on the Mount, we're confronted with a profound question: How can we claim to be "the light of the world" without Christ at our national center? The episode delves into our personal priorities as well—what we give our time to reveals what we truly value. Do we touch our phone screens more than our Bibles? Do we spend more hours on entertainment than in prayer or with family? These uncomfortable truths mirror our national drift from spiritual foundations. As Filipino General Carlos Romulo observed, "America began as a God-loving, God-fearing, God-worshiping people." This spiritual heritage isn't just historical trivia—it's the key to our future as a nation that produces liberty. Whether examining Harvard's origins as a Christian seminary or considering the purpose of education in a Christian republic, this episode calls us to reclaim the spiritual foundations that made America great.Where do you stand? Join us on this journey to rediscover America's soul and consider how we might return to being that "shining city on a hill" our founders envisioned. Welcome to the What's Next! Podcast with Tiffani Bova.    I have the honor and pleasure of welcoming Topaz Adizes to the show today.    He is an Emmy Award-winning writer, director, and experience design architect. He is an Edmund Hillary fellow and Sundance/Skoll Stories of Change fellow. His works have been selected to Cannes, Sundance, IDFA, and SXSW; featured in New Yorker magazine, Vanity Fair, and so much else. He has garnered an Emmy for new approaches to documentary and two World Press Photo awards for immersive storytelling. But what I'm here today to talk to him about is his new book called 12 Questions for Love.    THIS EPISODE IS PERFECT FOR…anyone looking to build stronger relationships—at work or in life—through the power of better questions.   TODAY'S MAIN MESSAGE…we often focus on having the right answers, but real connection comes from asking the right questions. Topaz Adizes has spent over a decade studying human connection, guiding more than 1,200 pairs of people through transformative conversations. In this episode, he shares how the way we ask questions can strengthen workplace culture, improve team dynamics, and create more meaningful personal relationships. By shifting our approach—from looking for the “right” answer to fostering authentic dialogue—we unlock deeper understanding, trust, and collaboration.   KEY TAKEAWAYS… The best conversations start with thoughtful, well-constructed questions. Shifting from binary to open-ended questions leads to richer, more meaningful responses. A strong workplace culture starts with intentional communication and connection. Small shifts in how we structure meetings can make them more productive and engaging. Great leaders aren't just problem-solvers—they're great guides who know how to ask the right questions.   WHAT I LOVE MOST…Topaz's insight on the power of well-constructed questions. His technique to ask open-ended, connective, and intentional questions creates space for deeper conversations, whether at work or in personal relationships.   Running Time: 31:43    Subscribe on iTunes     Find Tiffani Online: LinkedIn Facebook X    Find Topaz Online: LinkedIn  Website   Topaz's Book:  12 Questions for Love: A Guide to Intimate Conversations and Deeper Relationships

In this episode Gareth shares his journey in church leadership, discussing his early experiences, challenges, and the evolution of his approach to leading a church how understanding our call to release God's purpose in people has led to him creating environments for personal growth for all as disciples - shifting from large gatherings to more intimate, accountable groups where we coach and ask questions more than give answers.   Church Leadership Journeys and Challenges Gareth shared his early passion for leading a church, starting at age 13, and how he became a senior leader at 22. He also talked about the challenges and opportunities that came with leading a church, including a significant shift in vision around 2006-2007, which led to building a new church on a business park. Gareth then discusses his journey of discovery, exploring how to unlock the potential of a church in a society that seemed to have turned its back on it. This led to the creation of a multi-site model with several locations. Gareth then further reflected on the potential that still remained to be tapped into.      Gareth's Leadership Journey and Bible College Anthony and Gareth discussed Gareth's transition into a senior leadership position and his experiences with his father and Bible college. Gareth noted that the practical application of his learning was crucial, and that the apprenticeship model was integral to his development. Gareth also expressed his appreciation for working with his father, highlighting the positive aspects of their collaboration.      Leadership and Change Management Strategies Gareth discussed his approach to leadership, emphasizing the importance of understanding different perspectives and approaches. He shared his experience of working with his father and father-in-law, highlighting the need to respect and understand different generations and approaches. Gareth also touched on the challenges of leading a church through significant changes, such as selling a building and moving to a warehouse. He stressed the importance of having a clear vision and understanding the reasons behind these changes. Anthony sought Gareth's advice on how to lead people through such changes, and Gareth emphasized the need for a strong vision and understanding of the reasons behind the changes.      Gareth's Vision for Church Growth Gareth shared his personal experience of a moment of clarity that led him to envision a change in the church he was leading. He emphasized the importance of honoring the past while tilting towards the future and the next generation. He also discussed the transition of the church's name from its original name to "Everyday Champions" in 2006, and subsequent expansions to different locations. Anthony agreed with Gareth's points, referencing a quote from Alan Hirsch about honoring generations.      Decentralizing Church Model for Growth Anthony and Gareth discussed the evolution of their church's model from a traditional, geographically-based structure to a more decentralized, technology-driven approach. They acknowledged the importance of proximity of leaders in maintaining the initial model, but also recognized the need for change as they sought to reach a wider audience. Gareth shared their experience of opening a mobile coffee space in Greenwich, which allowed them to listen to and engage with people who weren't attending church. This shift in approach led to a better understanding of the questions people were asking, which differed from those addressed in the traditional model. The conversation ended with Gareth suggesting that their new model was akin to building a factory for the future, while still maintaining the existing structure.      Purpose, Discipleship, and Human Nature Gareth and Anthony discussed the concept of purpose and its relation to the church and individual beliefs. Gareth emphasized the importance of understanding the individual's purpose rather than fitting them into a precast mold. He also highlighted the role of discipleship in this process, suggesting that people have the answers within them but need an environment to allow these answers to emerge. Anthony raised a theological question about the fallen nature of humanity and the potential for self-deception. Gareth agreed, noting that there are competing seeds within individuals, and the goal is to create an environment where the seed of vision can grow. The conversation concluded with Gareth acknowledging that this transition is ongoing and has been a significant shift in his perspective.      Shift to Intimate Conversations and Content Gareth discussed the shift in their model from focusing on large crowds to smaller, more intimate groups. He emphasized the importance of one-to-one conversations in unlocking potential, citing Jesus' example. Gareth also explained their new approach, where content is digitally driven and can be accessed at any time, with groups meeting in various locations. He stressed the need for environments where people can't hide and emphasized the role of leaders in equipping the saints for works of service. Anthony agreed with Gareth's points, noting the importance of personal relationships and the exposure of hidden issues in larger crowds.      Accountability and Coaching in Church Model Gareth and Anthony discussed the importance of accountability and evaluation in their church model, contrasting it with the traditional "come and see" approach. They emphasized the need for individuals to set goals and seek change, with Gareth suggesting a simple ABC framework for awareness, barrier, and change. Anthony agreed, noting the need for more engaging questions in their discussions. They also discussed the role of coaching in their approach, with Gareth highlighting the importance of drawing out what's inside people rather than just pouring in information. Anthony expressed interest in Gareth's coaching methods and invited him to join a future podcast and launch event. Gareth agreed and encouraged listeners to consider the size of their vision and the potential for change.      Legacy, Contribution, and God's Presence Gareth challenged the participants to consider their legacy and how they can contribute positively to the world in the next 500 years. He emphasized the importance of going beyond personal interests and contributing to the greater good. Gareth also encouraged the participants to connect with him on social media platforms and to seek a deeper understanding of God. He ended the conversation with a prayer, asking for forgiveness and guidance in expanding their awareness of God's presence and purpose in their lives.

Coaches coaching coaches… works! I remember the first time I learned that Sean was interested in coaching with me, I read his blog... wow! What an exquisite writer! This conversation revealed the deeper reason why our souls collided- his mother wounds were exquisitely healed by a female coach... rewiring his capacity to trust the feminine, feel safe, deeply respected, and to awaken his relationship with his own feminine muse of creativity.  In this deeply vulnerable, alive and passionate conversation we also discussed...  -How the work he's able to do with his clients has deepened and expanded from what he's integrated coaching together. -What it really took to collapse the program of his head and genitals running the show and allow his parched yet noble heart to awaken and take the lead. -How disorienting and destabilizing healing trauma can be... and the tender patience I am honored to provide as he navigates women and dating from an entirely new dimension. -The importance of follow through with private calls, group coaching and community retreats to ensure lasting results as he pays it forward and rocks his business and life! This episode is dedicated to Alan MacNaughton. The father wound – defined as the emotional pain, unmet needs, and psychological impact of the lack of healthy masculine figures – is an issue that affects us all.Men, through a lack of initiation into manhood and the absence of masculine elderhood that leaves them without the capacity to understand positive masculine role models.Women, through the lack of discernment in relationships with men that leaves them chasing unavailable partners to fill the void their fathers left in their hearts. But right now there is more hope for healing this deep-seated wound. With men's work gaining popularity and women learning to let go of the idea of being “saved” by a handsome prince, we are closer than ever to suturing up this wound and building a world where men can offer and receive the love they are capable of.Listen in to learn:Why the father wound exists (including the relatively new historical roots of absent men). What men can do to heal their hearts and step into a new definition of manhood. The step up that women need to take in order to heal and have healthier platonic and romantic relationships with men. What healthy masculinity looks like (and how to look for it).Phoenix and Sonja also share some very personal stories about how they've worked through the father wound in their own lives and learned to trust men's hearts again.

I just got off a call with a potential new client. I was reflecting to her how she was looping, her brilliant survival strategy to be safe, to figure it out, to gain some sense of control of outside circumstances… yet she wasn't experiencing peace, empowerment, self-assurance, confidence in her worth, or her ability to navigate challenges from her mind… There came a moment without any coaching really, just being together, looking at patterns, sharing stories with her, BEING me where something in her let go, snuggled into my arms, let me in… and everything got quiet. She agreed. Even the traffic lights around her stopped… it was just dark, calm, quiet and her mind was still.  Perhaps we can call that entrainment. Perhaps we can say her mind was blessed with another vibration long enough to purify and rest into stillness so she could drop beautifully into her knowing in her body, perhaps a moment of sisterhood, trust, companionship, and safety allowed her nervous system to regulate… perhaps all of the above… This is what the Allana Pratt Method Process Purification provides, in fact, what most of my processes are about… feeling through feelings, being the banks of the river so you can sit in the fire and let the wisdom of your body to bring you home to wisdom, awareness, insights, and sacred sensitivity to navigate challenges with Grace. That's a punch-line many don't like to hear… you mean I'll still be human? Still have fears? Still have ruptures to repair? You mean there's no quick fit to make me perfect, never hurt again, never have fear or pain again? Nope. ‘Doing the work' is about being able to stay present in the face of what used to trigger us. It's about being more artful in our communications with those we love rather than combative or abandoning them or ourselves.  So let's get into some questions my staff has gathered from you about shifting away from mental chaos and spinning monkey mind… into presence, allowance, openness, depth, and the gift of knowing you can handle anything. And that the Universe has your back. 1. How does mental chaos or stress impact our sexual energy, and what practices can help “reset" the mind to reignite intimacy? 2. After a messy divorce, what steps can I take to rid my mind of the emotional baggage and mayhem left behind? 3. How can I get over the damage caused by her infidelity, and what's the path to restoring trust in future relationships?  I believe and have experienced firsthand in myself and my clients that we attract or are attracted to partners who are a combination of the best and worst qualities of our parents/those who brought us up. Incomplete loops are being sought after to complete and if we're aware of that and do the inner work to integrate those within ourselves WHILE knowing this is what's behind our partner's behaviors… we can see what's RIGHT about ruptures and more gracefully move into repair.  We can learn to communicate from authenticity, stay present vs getting triggered, take ownership of our behaviors, focus on the good of our partner's growth, and literally evolve into a stronger, more grateful partnership not just with our beloved, but with our friends, clients, children… it makes you a contribution to the planet while enjoying being in your skin, more at peace on this planet, more able to be courageous and live your dreams.  If this resonates and you'd like to connect about how together we could partner to walk together on your relationship and intimacy journey, I would be delighted to connect and talk about the potential of inviting you to join our incredible community and coach with me, attend our retreats and experience feeling worthy, home, confidence and deliciously alive. In the latest season, Allana guides listeners through 'Becoming the One' to 'Find the One' which 'Awakens the One.' With raw vulnerability, Allana shares her experiences with trauma, self-loathing, and relationships, shedding light on the subconscious patterns that shape our lives. She discusses the concept of "into me I see" and how true intimacy begins with a relationship with oneself. Throughout the episode, we discuss how unhealed trauma can manifest in various aspects of our lives—whether through romantic relationships, business interactions, or even physical symptoms. Allana shares powerful insights on how psychedelic somatic therapy (PSI) helps clients address subconscious trauma, guiding them to integrate their emotional pain and reconnect with their bodies. By focusing on somatic healing, she empowers listeners to break free from limiting beliefs and embody their true selves. Key Takeaways: True intimacy starts with developing a deep connection with yourself. Subconscious trauma, often stored in the body, drives many of our relational patterns and choices. Healing trauma isn't just about talk therapy—it's about embodying your experiences and working through them on a physical and emotional level. Somatic therapies, like PSI, allow for the release and integration of deep-seated trauma in a safe and supportive environment. The importance of self-compassion, especially in the face of difficult emotions, and how fully acknowledging and embracing your feelings can lead to profound healing. Reconnecting with your body is a crucial step to breaking free from patterns of self-loathing, shame, and disconnection. Today we come to you from Macy's Herald Square in NYC, where I sit with a longtime friend Evy Poumpouras and we discuss her powerful journey to motherhood IVF and some amazing summer finds, which lucky for you we know where to find them all (Macy's, of course).  Evy gets candid about her many failed attempts, the emotional ups and downs of waiting rooms, and the incredible resilience she displayed over 18 cycles. She shares the unique challenges of starting a family later in life and passionately advocates for women to freeze their eggs earlier. Through her near-death experience, after enduring a grueling 26-hour labor, Evy discovered a profound shift in her outlook, learning to see adversity as a path to transformation rather than victimhood. With vulnerability and hard-earned wisdom, she shares the steps she took to ultimately become a mother and the invaluable lessons she's gained about the difference between endurance and resilience. This is a must-listen for anyone navigating the complex emotions and experiences of family planning. Healers and Heal Liners When life comes at you, you can be a victim or you can rise. Have you ever found yourself in the presence of someone you love dearly and had nothing to say? The silence, not indicative of your care for the other, nor of your desire to connect with them, and yet there were no words you could grasp to articulate the depth or quality of your connection to them. Or, have you found yourself in the same looped pattern of conversation with someone you love? Feeling as though you were treading the same path repeatedly, and it was simply exhausting? Or, even worse, it was deteriorating your connection. We all crave connection. But sometimes we need help getting there. Topaz Adizes offers a guide to having the conversations that can lead to that connection in his latest book, 12 Questions for Love: A Guide to Intimate Conversations and Deeper Relationships. After a decade of exploring human emotions and intimacy through more than 1200 conversations in his Emmy Award-winning experience design studio, The Skin Deep, Topaz has been studying and watching humans of all types, and in all kinds of relationships, simply talk. And it's resonating, having over 1.2 million followers on TikTok and 900,000 on YouTube. Topaz is a writer, director, and experience design architect. He is an Edmund Hillary Fellow and Sundance/Skoll Stories of Change Fellow. His works have been selected to Cannes, Sundance, IDFA, and SXSW; featured in New Yorker magazine, Vanity Fair, and the New York Times; and have garnered an Emmy for New Approaches to Documentary, along with Two World Press photo awards for Immersive Storytelling and Interactive Documentary.  He is currently the Founder and Executive Director of The Skin Deep. Topaz studied philosophy at UC Berkeley and Oxford University. He speaks four languages, and currently lives in Mexico with his wife and two children.  In this episode, Topaz shares what he has learned from witnessing over 1200 conversations and the lessons from his own first-hand experiences.  Topaz's creativity, like his humanity, seems boundless. His work on relationship developments is a useful approach to helping us all have deeper and more intimate relationships that helps each us live our lives in full.

In this episode I love how life provided aligned personal and professional stories to share with you so as to best answer your wonderful questions and support your intimate relationships in thriving :-) -Your first question was: How can I communicate my need for reassurance to my partner without seeming needy or dependent? -I discussed the difference between need and needy. I explored how discovering the source of our communications changes everything because we can be connecting from emptiness or wholeness, manipulation or invitation, attachment to the results or allowance of all. -Your second question was: Can you suggest ways to manage my anxiety about love and rejection that allow me to enjoy a deeper connection with my partner? -I shared one fundamental truth that you can't be rejected if you won't reject self. Now being rejected might sting a bit, but it's only truly debilitating and devastating when we've already rejected our own soul. Similarly, we can't feel anxious about the outside if on the inside we feel home, safe and solid. The more we can connect with every aspect of our self, the more we can connect with our partner and make them feel safe seen and understood in all of their Humanity. -Your third question was: How can I rebuild trust in myself and my worthiness of love, especially if I've been hurt in past relationships? -I shared about the profound breakthroughs in self-worth that occur in my various coaching programs and especially during the PSI immersions. The psychedelic somatic protocol is extraordinary in learning to trust the body as it reveals held traumas and emotions that have been attracting the same pattern of abusers or sabotaging your best efforts to trust yourself.  -I spoke of where I believe trust truly resides and the best way to cultivate a more solid sense of self and worth. I don't think there's anything more terrifying than being on the planet and not being able to trust yourself. Life becomes so scary, every decision terrifying, questioning our worth, blaming ourselves and spinning in our head at 3:00 a.m. unable to get back to sleep.  -And the opposite is true as well... my experience is that when I trust myself I'm also trusting divine will, I can let go of attachment and be more present, I can be more courageous and speak my truth, I can trust that when things go sideways there still is a gift here and not to give up on myself or life. It's catapulted my resilience. I'm more grateful for the tiny things, the simple things... and its made me more connected with people and the moment. The path is becoming your own beloved, indeed you are the one you have been seeking, you're really not so bad! Xox Maybe we've got some wounds to integrate and some feelings to feel, but you're pretty freaking amazing :-) It's about time you agree, wouldn't you say? It's not boasting, it's that alluring confidence that people want to be around, that 'it' factor. -If that level of self-expression, freedom to be who you are, living with your heart open, deeply connecting with a beloved, feeling home in your body, able to trust yourself and living unabashed is your next step in your evolutionary Journey when it comes to intimacy and relationships, I would love to connect! Mark Cavendish: An Intimate Conversation With The Greatest Sprinter In Cycling History

Even in your darkest moments, the potential for redemption lays in wait. Mark Cavendish is a living illumination of this truth—a man who bounced back from career-ending setbacks and a protracted battle with mental health to become the greatest sprinter in cycling history. Over the course of his storied career, Mark has taken home 55 Grand Tour stage victories, 162 professional victories, and has won an astonishing 34 stages of the Tour de France, tying a previously thought impossible-to-match record set almost 50 years ago by Eddy Merckx. At the pinnacle of his career, Mark suffered a debilitating crash, began to battle seemingly insurmountable health obstacles—a debilitating crash, disordered eating, depression, and Epstein-Barr—that took him out of elite performance contention for nearly five years. But instead of ending his career, Mark fought back. In an extraordinary comeback Tour de France in 2021, Mark won four stages and the green jersey nearly a decade after he had last won it—a meteoric rise, fall, and resurrection beautifully portrayed in the recent Netflix documentary, Mark Cavendish: Never Enough. This is a powerful and revealing conversation about grit, commitment, mental health, and the hard-wrought journey to success. In addition to discussing his new Netflix documentary, we recount the highs and lows of Mark's incredible career, his battle with mental health, and his unique relationship with cognitive performance strategist Dr. David Spindler. Mark also shares his new relationship with goals, and how he manages the pressure to eclipse Eddie Merckx's historic record by winning his 35th stage at the 2024 Tour de France, where he will compete against riders nearly half his age. I found Mark to be humble and grateful—a gentle champion with a firm grasp on what is truly important and why. My hope is that Mark's story serves as a powerful reminder that taking responsibility for your mental health is crucial, and that no matter how far you've fallen, there is always hope to build a better future for yourself and others.
