It was a pleasure to speak to Jon Adams this month. Jon originally trained as a Shipbroker, going on to work as a Chartering Manager for a Shipowner for 12 years. Within the last year, Jon has transitioned into a Control Management role, choosing to continue to work for the same employer, but in an entirely different capacity, as opposed to changing career completely. Jon's career transition is an interesting one to listen to, as it encourages us to realise that a complete career change is not always what's required for someone to feel fulfilled and satisfied in their work again. Jon shares his experiences of delving into other career options, and the ‘red flags' these experiences threw up for him. He also talks through how he negotiated the creation of a whole new role in his current organisation that aligned well with a lot of what he was hoping for in a new role, with the added ease of staying in a company and industry he knew incredibly well. This new role may not be the end destination for Jon, as he discusses the need and desire to remain open to where his career goes next.

In the recent episode of MC Fireside Chats, guest host Scott Knepp fills in for regular host Brian Searl. Scott is joined by esteemed colleagues in the RV and outdoor hospitality industry: Greg Emmert, Senior Strategist at Camp Strategy; Jon Adams, owner of Sandusky Milan RV Park; and Steven Kramer, founder of Campground Support. Scott kicks off the episode by thanking Brian Searl for taking a well-deserved vacation and sets the tone for a fun and informative discussion with the guests. Greg Emmert opens the conversation, jokingly acknowledging Scott as a smarter and better-looking version of Brian. Greg expresses excitement about the upcoming discussion with Jon Adams and Steven Kramer. Scott introduces Jon Adams, owner of Sandusky Milan RV Park, and Steven Kramer, who manages a campground and founded Campground Support, a company providing remote support for campgrounds. Both guests share their backgrounds and express enthusiasm for the conversation. Scott initiates a discussion on mobile applications that have proven beneficial in campground management. Greg shares his experience with the OnX app, which he uses for hunting and identifying property boundaries, and the Merlin Bird ID app, which uses AI to identify bird songs. Steven introduces ClickUp, a productivity app he uses to manage tasks and schedules efficiently. Jon emphasizes the importance of clean restrooms in attracting and retaining guests at his park. He shares how investing in clean and well-maintained facilities has been a key factor in the success of Sandusky Milan RV Park. Greg and Steven echo this sentiment, highlighting that clean restrooms are crucial in the hospitality industry. Scott asks Jon about managing and prioritizing various projects at his park. Jon explains how he addresses existing infrastructure issues first and plans projects during the off-season to avoid disruptions. He shares his approach to budgeting and making improvements that enhance guest satisfaction. The conversation shifts to common challenges in campground management, particularly staffing and managing guest expectations. Steven discusses how Campground Support helps address these challenges by providing remote support for phone calls and reservations, allowing campground staff to focus on on-site tasks. Greg introduces the concept of revenue management and dynamic pricing, emphasizing the importance of adjusting rates based on demand and occupancy levels. Jon and Steven share their experiences with dynamic pricing and how it has helped increase revenue and optimize occupancy at their respective parks. As Memorial Day approaches, the guests discuss their preparations for the peak season. Jon talks about organizing events like food trucks, cornhole, and karaoke to enhance the guest experience. Steven mentions the importance of having adequate staffing and addressing any technical challenges to ensure a smooth operation during the busy season. The episode concludes with each guest sharing what they are excited about in the near future. Scott looks forward to a family cruise and celebrating a 10/10/10 Good Sam rating for a property in Alabama. Greg is eager to go birdwatching, taking advantage of the peak migration season. Steven and his wife are excited about their upcoming vacation, while Jon is preparing to celebrate his 10th wedding anniversary. Scott wraps up the episode by thanking the guests for their insights and contributions. He invites listeners to stay tuned for more episodes of MC Fireside Chats, promising more valuable discussions on outdoor hospitality and campground management. The episode ends with a reminder to email show suggestions and to visit Modern Campground for the latest industry news.
Delicious City is buzzing over Rival Bros Coffee, and we've got co-founder Jon Adams on this episode to explain their approach to java and how it reflects the bold and authentic spirit of Philadelphia. We also talk about one of the hottest new dining experiences in the city, Enswell, and Jon and Eli get swept up in culinary history - the convo was so absorbing that we lost track of time and had to be kicked out of our studio. Also on this episode: Dave Wez is out this week, but a bromance blossoms between Eli and Jon, or maybe Eli is just jealous of Jon's hair… who can say? Marisa explains why she doesn't have a coffee machine in her house, despite being a caffeine fiend Jon explains the Rival Bros origin story, and takes us back to his early days as a chef, including his wild experience making “edible rocks” at a Michelin star restaurant in Spain The gang discuss why chefs having FOH experience is key, as well as the benefits of cooking in a small space and the importance of gender diversity in the kitchen Shorthand for food orders: is it a lost art? Hot take: can you call yourself a chef if you've never run a restaurant? Jon talks about his time at Snackbar, and the crew trade stories about a living legend in Philly, Pierre Robert. The WMMR ladies in the room guess what his favorite restaurants in the city are, and at the very end of this episode you'll hear whose guess was right! Best Bites: everybody loves Enswell, and not just because Jon is in the room - it's legit. Other picks include a spot to elevate your lunch routine, pizza with perfect pepperoni cups, espresso soda and delicious dim sum Weird stuff happens in restaurants, and Eli's got a particularly saucy story from his time in NYC. Plus: proper etiquette for when you run into celebs while dining out Food News: a doggie bar, a Bladerunner inspired ramen joint, and the country's largest single-sponsor food drive is happening this week, Camp Out For Hunger! This week I describe my shock at finding out that I had worked with a serial child rapist, Anthony Smith, who was sentenced to 24 years in prison last week. I then have a brilliant chat with Jon Adams, who served in North London before moving his family lock stock and barrel out to Western Australia, where he is currently a sergeant in a town south of Perth. It was great chatting to him and fascinating hearing about his life down under.

One-hundred-fifth Episode released on 03/15/2021. Happy Monday UG fam! Today, Sunday, I had the honor of recording another guest episode with a special guest. What's crazy about this one, is I've never even met this dude in real life, yet the connection is genuine. I met Jon playing video games in college (Destiny on PS4 to be exact for my nerds out there) but we've continued to stay connected through social media. On this episode there is a ton of value packed inside Jon's journey, from a difficult upbringing being raised by a single mom, working hard trying to be the man of the house, to attending his dream school at The University of Alabama, to being in a fraternity on one of the nations most insane frat/sorority campuses, the highs and lows of being an entrepreneur, and ultimately having personal success in his career. This was a fun conversation and Jon really is an example of constantly growing. I was happy to have him on the show, I hope you guys listen to the wise words he puts out there for y'all. Thank y'all for the continued support. Still thrilled to be bringing you more content and I appreciate any and all feedback. Continuing to use my voice to spread growth to the world in my own way. Today's episode touches on the following: A guest sit down with Jon Adams Jon's Insta: @jontadams @oldrepublicfc #BlackLivesMatter Thank you and I'll catch you later. This week features the 6 Heroes stories in the Age Of Rebellion one-shot comic series (from original trilogy); Leia in “Princess Scoundrel”, Han (& Chewie) in “Running From The Rebellion”, Lando in “Cloud City Blues”, Luke in “Fight Or Flight”, Yoda in “The Trial Of Dagobah” and Biggs Darklighter & Porkins in “Stolen Valor”, plus Mike also gives additional information about each of the characters, connections, species and more! The 4 main Age Of Republic comics were written by Greg Pak with Tamra Bonvillain as colourist and the following artists did artwork for these stories; Marc Deering, Chris Spouse, Karl Story, Will Sliney, Matteo Buffagni, Scott Koblish and Stefano Landini. The Yoda story (in AoR special) was written by Marc Guggenheim, with Andrea Broccardo as artist and Dono Sánchez-Almara as the colour artist, while the Biggs Darklighter/Porkins story was written & drawn by Jon Adams while Chris O'Halloran did the colours. Leias's comic and the AoR Special were released in April 2019, with Luke Skywalker's released June 2019 (with the other stories released in-between). The AoR Heroes trade paperback was released in August 2019 while the AoR hardcover (with heroes & villains) was released June 2020. The characters in this episode have also had a variety of mini-series between them so check out episodes; 14 for Leia, 24 & 40 for Han, 18 & 37 for Lando, 33 for Yoda and 22 for Chewbacca, as well as the variety of the main run of Star Wars comics for the usual trio! For the AoR villains, check out episode 43 of SWCIC and for the prequel-era Age Of Republic stories, check out episodes; 2 for Maul, 26 for Dooku, 31 for Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon, 35 for Jango Fett, Grievous & Asajj Ventress and 39 for the Padmé, Anakin, Mace Windu and Jar Jar & Rex stories. Mike will be tackling the Age Of Resistance Heroes & Villains shortly too, so be sure to subscribe for that! The short animated Leia story about her obtaining Boushh's armor is an episode of Forces Of Destiny called Bounty Hunted. In the last episode of SWCIC (episode 46), Mike tackled the weirdest (& potentially the best) instalment of Doctor Aphra so far, where Aphra has been enslaved by the homicidal protocol droid Triple-Zero to assemble a crew to steal his lost memories from some of the most secure imperial archive facilities, causing further entanglement with imperial Magna Tolvan, the capture of rebel general Hera Syndulla, setting imperial experiments free and much more! Mike now has a Patreon, where there's an exclusive new show “Afterthoughts” (with 2 episodes being *FREE* to anyone – one of which is S1 of the Witcher series and the other is The Phantom Menace, as Mike & Megan have started a full Star Wars run-through), plus there are unsplit full-length episodes of GCC, additional photos (including early access to photos of comics for this show) and more, so if you want to support the show and get more content, check it out at http://patreon.com/genuinechitchat Mike was recently on Podcasts We Listen To, speaking about his show Genuine Chit-Chat and next week he talks all about this show and his love of Star Wars: http://spoti.fi/3uus0PT Mike appeared on episode 76 Frank Burton's Ragbag podcast: http://spoti.fi/3aLgx5e Mike & Megan were on the Batman retrospective on 20th Century Geek, all parts are out where they discuss Batman '66, the Burtonverse movies, Mask Of The Phantasm & the Dark Knight trilogy, part 1 here: https://spoti.fi/3sTeN2m Find Mike @GenuineChitChat on Twitter, @Genuine_ChitChat on Instagram & /GenuineChitChat on Facebook! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/comics-in-motion-podcast/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/comics-in-motion-podcast/support

BMO Global Asset Management hosts an Annual Global Investment forum that brings together BMO’s international investment leaders and strategists, as well as select outside experts, to discuss and debate our 5 year outlook for global economies and capital markets. At the end of each forum, we publish our 5 year outlook perspective as a document that highlights the possible scenarios we see happening in global trends, as well as themes we see for economic and political environments for the years ahead. Jon Adams, a Senior Investment Strategist on BMO’s Multi Asset Solutions team, is our expert guest for this episode. He participated in this year’s forum, and he’ll help us break down the 5 year outlook and understand the themes and trends shaping our future.
